When I make VOIP calls, I can hear the speaker speaking, but the volume is very low, is there anyway to increase it? Thank u!
There is a thread in the general wizard section about boosting sound. To date, no one has completely figured out how to raise the volume, but there are ways to boost BT sound and speakerphone sound.
If you click on my name and check out threads I have subscribed to, you should be able to find the thread of which I speak.
Good luck.
And...if you find that golden goose, and figure out how to fully boost sound, please post it for us all to use.
There is a solution for HTC Touch Diamond. Maybe you can try something similar and see if it works on your wizard.
maybe you could upload the cab here?
has anyone tried it with the wizard? I do not remember having that file in my wizard's kitchen at all.
Is the registry in touch's oem? or is it already in sys?
I'd be willing to try this.. but cant download from that site at the moment. no computer on hand. it's at home, and have no patience for PIE. :/

What?
can elaborate the difference in settings?
Yes, I tried this registry hack on my Atom with HS-12W Headset, it eliminated almost 99% of high frequency noise. Now the sound is crytal clear
mine didnt even have the default settings bitpool key
i just tried it and it makes a huge improvement
it's still not perfect, but it's a lot better than before
thanks
for those that don't have the bitpool, add the settings key and then add the dword for bitpool
I understand the bitpool setting, but isn't the audiogateway capability a bitmask used to set the handsfree profile capabilities? Why would that affect a2dp quality?
ehm......hex or dec values???

reg edit
Hi All,
So I downloaded PHM reg edit and tried what is suggested by sas90850 in the beggining of this topic, but alas, I am too duh to do any serious reg hacks. I can change an existing reg but creating a new one is far beyond me. I do really want to try this hack though. Is there anyone out there that can make this a little more easy to understand or maybe post some screen shots of what it actually looks like, that sort of thing. If I am asking to much, I apologize in advance.
Thanks
Todd

i tried to make a CAB to install those registrieds at once.
It can work to change registries value in my Universal.
You can try this, i sugest make a softreset to effect changes.
@My Qtek 900 1.30 ROM<Universal> has no registry follows,
But i added to test,,,
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/BitPool
Find this post from here:
If you encounter sond drop problem, other web site which I found has shown some new A2DP settings that may be useful to others with bandwidth problems. You can control the bitrate with the following registry key/values.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings]
"BitPool"=dword:00000051
"SampleRate"=dword:00048000
There is a table in the A2DP Specification that shows several values to use that result in the following bitrates.
Medium Quality
BitPool=35, SampleRate=44.1khz = 229kb/s
BitPool=33, SampleRate=48khz = 237kb/s
High Quality
BitPool=53, SampleRate=44.1khz = 328kb/s
BitPool=51, SampleRate=48khz = 345kb/s
There are also parameters called "MinBitPool", "MaxBitPool" so the device can pick for itself depending on mp3 quality etc. I haven't tested the min/max parameters yet, but apparently these are used by default.
Hope it can help.
I am a little confused now... :?
What's the correct path to the BitPool key?
Is it HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/BitPool
or HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/BitPool
???

I did try it and view that all settings are the same as state above. However, the quality is still the same, a hissing sound at the background
Do I any missing?
I have just applied this to my Atom and it's working wonderfully. I've choosen a BitPool of 53 myself. I don't know WHY these devices wouldn't be shipping with better settings. Simply registry edits shouldn't cause THIS much of an improvement

Hi Goodge, so you're using BitPool 53 and SampleRate 44khz? Does your atom still skips ocationally? Any one got this fixed? Thanks...
RE
GREAT! JUST GREAT!!!
One thing I noticed is that hiss from music could come from the manner the song was ripped/copied ie. noise introduced during the ripping/copying process. In such a case I don't believe any registry hack can remove the inherent hiss.
Secondly, the quality of the headphone counts ie. for the same song played some headphone may exhibit more hiss than others
Wow, I've just applied, it works! Can't tell the diff from Bluesoil's... But I still have that occational skips Keep up the good findings guys!!!
After spending all afternoon wondering this site and trying every way to get A2DP to work on my Sprint Apache w/ new ROM, I am just about fed up. I need to ask a couple of questions before I break down and but another bluetooth stereo headset or clip.
Are any Apache owners out their running a different ROM and/or BT stack that improved over all performance and/or their A2DP experiance?
I probably know the answer to this one, but what would be the best headset to get to confirm if my problems are with my device or the clip I have already
(Bluesonic HS-H989)?
Have you tried the zokie A2DP .cab file? By adding this file to Wizards, it adds Stereo Bluetooth to ROMs which don't have the stereo BT.
I've heard the Apache is similar to the Wizard. I used a similar .cab file to add A2DP to my xv6600 which was the predecessor to the Apache xv6700.
You should be able to find the zokie .cab file by searching this site. I doubt the .cab file will hurt your device. Worst case is you'll have to reflash it. Make sure you have the original ROM just in case.
If you cannot find the zoki .cab file. I can email it to you.
Let me know if this works. I am currently using a wizard on the TMO network so I can go international, but the EDGE network dosen't compare to the evdo.
A2DP and Motorola HT820
Hi,
I too am trying to get my Motorola HT820 bluetooth headphones to work with the Verizon XV6700. I haven't been able to find the zokie file.
If you cannot find what you are looking for here, try a search on whole site. The universal and prophet sections are somewhat compatible in programs.
Alot of info was originated here but is scattered and not specific to this unit, so I would go do a search at pdaphonehome.com and ppc6700users.com.
Good luck!

Hello! I recently upgraded my Himalaya to WM5 AKU 3.5. Everything runs nice but I have a problem with the Sound. I use the Himalaya in my car in the T-Mobile CarKit. However since I upgraded the sound is not routed through the CarKit speaker anymore but remains on the internal speaker. I had this issue with some WM2003 Roms and so I know it's pure software. Can anybody please point me to a solution? Is there a way to change this in the ROM or do I need to search for a ROM that has this feature enabled?
Thanks

Hi.
Same with me as well. I am missing that very much. In between there is one workaround: if the 2.5mm stereo jack is accessible in your car kit, just plug a connector without a headphone/mike into it. This enables output on the 22pin pin connector as well. As I am using a homemade adaptor, this works for the moment - but I do not like the idea to use that 2.5mm jack all the time without really needing it...
So any suggestion, maybe some program to switch? - I do not care if I have to run that program manually when I want to have external output, although some automatic switching would be appreciated...
Regards, Uwe
Hi!
Thanks for your input. Unfortunately the 2,5mm jack is not accessible in the carkit. I start thinking about going back to WM2003SE. What a pity to loose DirectPush for that but the sound is more important....
Hello again.
IF someone from the "developer" group reads this thread at all:
Why are questions about this car kit audio issue always ignored by the rom cooking guys - at least I did not manage to find any answer by llbasha, c_shekar etc (my apology if I missed one). Even if it would not be possible to fix this, at least a definitive answer might be surprisingly interesting.
Please forgive me if this is a little rude, but I consider this a BUG in ALL wm5 roms - instead of just stuffing the rom with more and more gadgets of personal preference someone might look into this???????? HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!! Anyway - do not misunderstand me - you did a great job, but still - some guys would like to have this problem solved...
I still think that even if there is no fix in wavedev.dll possible (I think that dll is the cause of the problem) it should be possible to write some small application to "tell" wavedev.dll to use the external speaker/mike for all audio I/O. If I would have the necessary input I would be willing to try to write an app. So maybe someone can tell me where to find information about functions within wavedev.dll?
Regards, Uwe

Simply Download the attachement. It is a working wavedev2.dll which must be place in /Windows
After that, search Registry for "wavedev.dll" and replace it with "wavedev2.dll". Wait a minute, until you do a (software-made) soft-reset.
After that, you are DONE
Hope, you are not angry anymore...
Thanks

Hi all,
I'm pretty new to this forum and it's my first post. I'am also not an english speaker so I'll try to make myself as clear as possible (also hope I'm in the good section).
I recently acquired an Airis T483 smartphone, running WM6.1 (very unknown smartphone, I don't even find a link to show you its charasteristics...).
Anyway, I (and users using this phone) are having a big issue, and the Airis Company doesn't want to help us.
Basically, the phone volume is really really slow. Even with all volume indicators at their max, we almost can't use the phone because we merely can hear the person calling... This is so annoying, because our first use is off course to be able to use it as a phone. And for now we HAVE to use earphones to hear correctly.
We contacted the company Airis and their support and they are saying that the volume is correct and it corresponds to the standards... They keep up saying they are not modifying firmaware and can just replace our phone with identical ones...
So this is my question : Is it possible to find a software (or even write one) that can add "gain" to the volume level (I mean that can increase the volume, even when actually it's on 100%). So we can hear when we are using the phone.
Note : use of the speakerphone is excluded for privacy reasons...
I (and not only me) will be eternally grateful to anyone who could help us, even by pointing us to something we could maybe develop (we have basic knowledge and skills in programming).
Thank you all

Thank you for the links, but it's not working for me. I explain :
These threads are about the SRS WOW app that could effectively be a solution for me. I had a hard time with this software so I'm going to tell you what happenned :
- First you have to find the good version of SRS WOW HD for PPC with WM6.1 to have it "install" correctly. For me it was the version 1.21 found on one of the links you gave me. It's the only that installed correctly and I was able without a load error like 'ERROR : driver missing'....
- Then, my phone was silent (which was predictable according to the posts of guys who tried it with WM 6.1).
- I did the registry tweaks but it did not work. I placed correctly the old values in the right keys etc... but the phone keeps silent. Hopefully by uninstalling the program everything goes back to normal. I went through all night reading about this and it appears that the soft has compatibility issues with WM6.1 and some smartphone or PPCs (by the way, I know it's a dumb question, but have I a smartphone or a PPC ??? I'm kind of lost :s )
So, at the end, I still don't have found a solution. Pleease I'm beging... Help me find a way, don't do the work at my place, just point me somewhere to look for if you could.
I'm ready to develop something, I'm ready to give specs about my phone (BTW I discovered in the device database that it has Mono sound, not stereo... is that relevant ?), I'm ready to give a dump of the registry and look into it with help of someone... anything that could help.
If you have even just a thought, a lead, please share it. Thank you very much.
P.S : During this long night i found an application called "Audio Gain Tweaker", sounds like a dream... but only compatible with... HTC phones !!! So if someone of you guys needs a gain, he knows where to start searching
Ok, it's definitely a PPC, I got the difference now.
Regarding my problem, anyone has a clue ? What should I do, I mean can I post this thread to the Development and hacking section ???

Thanks for your help, but it's same as last answer. This tweak is about a file called AudioPara3.csv which in HTC phones is situated in the windows folder. The goal is to replace it by the tweaked one, but I don't have such file in my phone and placing it into windows folder doesn't change anything ! (I tried off course...)
What do you think I should do ? Contact dev and hacking section ? Is there anyone who can help me finding relevant keys with a dump of my registry ???

Via this site Pocket Zen Phone Call Profiles which let you set 2 to 7 call profiles you can also download a pdf file. Though not much information is provided... If you use REGLogger you can view the changes in your phone its registry
Start reading (cq downloading some~) every and all revies on this awesome thread;

As you'll soon notice, I've written two articles there too Anyway, you can obtain REGlogger from there.
