hey, i like touchflo,, i guess. probably cuz im a little too nervous and inexperienced to start seriously messing around with my phone, but i do hate how the calender on touchflo works. I cant see specific says without clicking on them, and the whole thing just seems a little elementary.
is there anything you can suggest that will work with touch flo, and required just a simply installation, because im not quite sure what most of the tech abbreviations mean, and how to manually configure settings.
So from your experience, what is the most intuitive program.
would it also be too much to ask to see some screenshots of the programs.
thanks a lot....consider it my christmas present
just a side note,
if you have a program on the phone, and then update the framework, must you reinstall the initial program...the reason i ask is , i have a program to prevent the screen from being responsive when i call came in, but after a few updates, ie. framework and advance config, the screen blocker program isnt working
any suggestion?
i believe there is already a post about this and to the best of my knowledge the answer to your second question is no
SBSH Touch Calendar looks awesome. I haven't tried it yet as it costs $25 but I'm thinking about buying it. Give it a shot and post up here!

Also there is a 12-day trial.

hey, sorry for the repost, but ive been searching, and really havent been able to find what im looking for. It may just be that i dont know if the mentioned programs im looking for are compatible with the touch pro. Im not looking to mod my task bar, or anything concerning manilla files. Just a program that allows me to see into the future a little better. is this spd diary program compatible with touch pro and free?
thanks for putting up with me
Try thumbcal, i's great. Version 0,5 is free after that it gets a little better but it's not free anymore, 12
Have a look here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381588
This solved my problem - if this is installed, you switch the screen off, then on again - all appointments as well as current date/time is displayed.
Ive used Thumbcal and only just installed the SBSH touch cal, have to admit looks and operates great. So much more features and ability to manage apts etc. First impressions i think its alot more comprehensive then Thumbcal, but just my opinion.
I dunno if this is a ROM isolated thing, (I'm running NYG Pro) but I find that if I leave a video running in the background after selecting it under the "Photos and Videos" tab, regardless of the video duration, it'll give me a boost with anything 2D until I close Album. Manilla 2D and TaskFacade run a lot sexier now. The only thing that seems to kill it is Audio Manager. lol As soon as I run it, it goes back to normal and the only way to get that extra framerate is to restart Album with the same or another video and leave it running again.
Sorry if this had been posted before, but is there anyway we might be able to incorporate the, what seems to be, "2D driver" in startup like what taskfacade has to do? Just like a crippled version of Album for the speed? I don't know exactly what's giving it the boost here, but this seems pretty important if it's not isolated to the ROM I'm running.
I just tried this with my Kaiser and it works consistently on a Hyperdragon 3 ROM from November, so it seems to be fairly universal. I don't know how or why this works, but I'd sure like to see someone figure it out and find a way to have it work all the time.
Edit: I assume this has something to do with the video drivers that may or may not actually exist, and with the built-in video playback somehow turning on 2D acceleration, but I'm no programmer so I can't really go into detail. The more I play with this, though, the more excited I am to have smooth response in Manila and iContact and things of that sort, and the more I hope someone can find a way to build this into a ROM or make it a standalone program.
confirmed here too, now this is wierd
It's not so weird
During early days on UIQ, we also found the phone UI works a lot faster when there's a background Video running / being played .. seems to be the same factor.
Hi all,
actually, its nothing to do specifically with M2D ...
actually, been noticing that with everything ... say, PointUI Home 2 for example , .. leave your video on paused state, and try playing around the Home ... seems a marvel ...
but then, its been there since my UIQ3 days, on my P990i ... graphics performance boost up whilst leaving a video running ....
i hope this will trigger some wise minds in here ...
Yeah actually tried this trick with a Gameboy emulator. Works pretty well. Eliminates page tearing so that's pretty cool. Here's to hoping something gets done with this!
Will doing this kill the battery life?
It may affect it slightly since it is still running a program. As far as i can tell there isn't much of a change in the real world though.
From what I have read, attempted to understand, and barely grasp, this likely works because it opens up the 3D and 2D driver sets so that programs that don't have the "call" code built in but support 3D and 2D drivers are able to utilize them then.
Not 100%, but it seems like this is where the driver developement is stuck at in general, with finding out how to get all programs to use the drivers all the time even if the drivers are not native.
I have very limited knowledge of all of those, though, and half the driver stuff goes over my head, but what I have grasped is that they don't seem to have, to use an analogy, the "phone number" for the drivers, but some programs do and some do not type thing.

maybe we should just have pause a video and add it as an exlusive itme in the task mager and always have it running lol Im gonna try this
You should change the name of this thread to somthing taht will atract more attention liek "possible graphics driver fix!" cause honestly I think you discovered somthing very usefuil if someone made a cut down version of this app and just had a pause short medai clip in the backround this could be a step closer to our driver solution or mabe THE solution and honestly I think this is amazing, and I think if you changed the titl of this thread it would attract A LOT of more atention
Could it be the Q7200 having some sort of speed step running and playing a clip is bringing it up to its default max of 400 MHz...? Which would simply speed up everything but consume more battery...
If it really enables drivers to run, that would be simply amazing and some of the smart heads here should take a deeper look into it.
Very interesting find!
Maybe its also worth posting in more general forum? not in Kaiser Rom development?
maybe try to send a message to someone from the HTCclassaction team?
Hi, isn't this video player actually a separate app that is spawned from manila?
Any handy people out there who could make this happen with a .cab? (install small video player, make it autostart and run an included, very small, video, all while running invincibly/exlusively in the background?)

Doubt its the processor stepping up left this active all day no difference in battery consumption or little if any. This is a cool find hope it leads somewhere for 'cursed users'.
Shifu v1.1
Seems to speed things up on this rom as well. Does seem more than a placebo effect.
Sorry. I don't know if this is frowned upon on this forum, but I'm bumping this for great justice. move zig lol

Sorry, I have to agree with placebo effect, I am using PDA X Beta II and Manila was pretty speedy before trying this, tried it and saw no difference, real or imagined.
Good Morning All,
I've now had over a week with my Touch Pro 2. I like it in several ways and hate it in several others.
Videos, YouTube/etc look absolutely phenomenal...this looks like hdtv, the iphone looks like fuzzy pixelated sdtv...(the gf has an iphone)
maybe its that i get much better bandwidth on sprint compared to at&t, i dunno don't care...
I welcome that larger battery!!
I hate the functionality of the quick menu. In my TP(1), I used this heavily as it always showed the running applications. In my TP2, I barely see anything listed in there, especially running web browsers, I have to click on Internet/Launch Browser to get back to my running Browser.
I also haven't found a good copy of the HTC Wifi Router-Comm Manager combo application. But, I have found versions of the OTHER mobile wifi router on another ppc forum website.
I have other gripes, but I figured I'd start with these and see what others suggest. I always meant to install a new rom on my TP(1) and never got around to it. Maybe there's a rom that'll fit me better that others can suggest.

Everything "might change" once the "oft spoken off but never seen" update to 6.5.x comes from Sprint.
Depending on what market you're in the bandwidth might be reason.
I use WMWiFiRouter to share/tether my connection without issue. I've been using that since my Mogul (never had the TP).
You could use the FTC Task Manager to see everything running but that wouldn't solve your request to easily switch. The Task Manager on my Mogul was better so I agree with you on the TP2 one not being as good.
What other gripes do you have (I bet one of them is the CM_Guardian_Service)?

Sprint defaults the "X" to close (rather than suspend). Thusly you'll never see anything in your quick menu if you always tap "X" to close a window. Go into the options and change it to the older default (tap to close the window not the program) and the quick menu will behave as you remember.
Search for "CM Internet Sharing".
Thanks for the tips guys!
I'll try the Tap X to.... in a few moments...
Yea I can't wait to try 6.5.X
My Boss has the Vz TP2 and I'm itchin' to do his upgrade just to see what changes there are.
I Hope sprint doesn't drop the ball on this.

FDC Task Manager is way better than the stock TM. I hate that the built-in TM doesn't show 3/4 of the crap that I run. And what is the exclusive list for? Nothing is ever in there. With FDC, it's exactly like XP Task Manager but way better. Shows EVERYTHING, not to mention all the running services, open windows, full blow registry editor, IP/TCP services. etc etc. Go get it, it's free.
Phone : HTC Universal (unmodded, 64MB)
ROM : Tomal 8.50
Not sure why, could be a free ram issue, but lately it seems to have stopped multitasking in an odd way. E.g. I'm in internet explorer, select some text, copy, open notes, new note, paste, ok. But IE has magically closed itself in the background by the time i've done this and i can't switch back! Most apps seem to do it, e.g. google maps, opera too, as soon as i use one app for more than a few seconds any others that are not in focus close silently.
Dont think i have any aggressive demons running, the rom is pretty much as is apart from a couple of today plugins!
I had the same problem, but only after I installed Opera. I don't know whether it's really Opera that's the culprit or not, but since I want to use it anyway, I searched for solution and this little app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5711787 seems to do the trick - no more programs closing in the background.
Thanks, only installed opera a few days ago, must be doing odd things to my system, will give AutoClose patch a try tho, thanks!
Just FYI, though it may not be the reason for the OP, I have heard this being said about Opera a lot of times, I've not checked but my gut feeling really is it has something to do with it.
Moved to Q&A as not dev.
madnish30.
What is one of the Best, most stable, and everything works on it ROM for the kaiser as of now/present now? (please make it windows mobile 6.5 and above)
Also, at least make it good, like looks and interface and what not, and add what is the best radio for it to.
The one I have right now the wifi wont work, and it has some small problems with it.(thats and speed is why i want a stable ROM)
And camera is good on it.
Also, how can i turn off my internet to my phone and put it where it connects to wifi every-time I connect to the internet (i guess put the wifi as the main internet connection, or how i can somehow turn of the internet connection from phone).
Thanks
Interested in same Thing
I am interested in the same thing as this post is asking and didn't wanna clutter forum up. I uploaded Gangsters 6.5 rom, after reading how well it was, and when it worked it was great. but I customize my phone to the max and had alot of my old cabs from 6.1 loaded, the slide to unlock, touchflo cube, Google app+maps+youtube, tom tom, games, and a few internet tv apps. The phone was constantly locking up, the touch flo would become nonresponsive(especially in landscape mode), and the Start/windows menu would become nonresponsive as well, then when I soft reset it would hard reboot the entire phone, forcing me to reinstall everything all over again. Well, about an hour ago, the s2u2 slide to unlock stopped working, the the cube stop working. I was forced to use them to get to programs because the touchflo was non responsive again. After the soft reset, the phone rebooted, and after i did the stylus config, it rebooted again and will not go past the smart mobility screen. I just need to know of a good basic 6.5 rom or better that can handle adding several apps/cabs to it. Thanks a bunch in advance.
Good enough, perhaps not "best"
I am running Ahmed's ahmedfikry_wm6.5_21667_Tilt_3D_UC_light_rom ROM onto which I have layered my eclectic selection of applications including third-party GPS software, an ebook reader, the CORE media player and some non-standard games. I run IPT, the iPhone Today plugin as a shell and love it.
I rarely read or reply to email / social networks on my phone but I do use it for lots of other stuff including reading ebooks, listening to MP3s, texting, looking stuff up in wikipedia, and taking photos.
Ahmed's ROM is stable enough that I reboot only once every 6 weeks and usually only when I install or uninstall some application. There is plenty of room for big-a$s apps to be installed and plenty of memory for them to hog up.
I tried three other ROMs and was sorely disappointed. I experimented with the new WP7 theme for IPT but went back to the iPhone classic because I prefer it to the "tiles" in WP7.
Best ROM is subjective and depends on the user and their needs, flashing a ROM and testing it is nothing compared to the time chefs take to cook, take some time flashing and find the best.
