i looked and couldnt find an answer
how do you go about removing the side scrollbars such as in contacts and messages?
and there is no time you should need these because of touchflo correct?
? any help
use advanced config.
under user interface, use the scroll bar width and height and change them all to "0 pixels(no scrollbar)"

Hi,
I tried to search on this forum but with no success if is there any application/mod that changes the look of the standard windows mobile scroll slider? or better have them disapper?
Thanks.
i am searching for something like that too!
If you're talking about the scroll bar on the side, there is a registry key that tells how wide you want it. You can make it really thin, or wide. There is also FtouchSL that enables finger scrolling in all apps.

I was looking to skin it too but being able to hide it will at least not show that ugly shape. Do you please have more infos on the registry key?
Thanks.
found it, thanks
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE]
cyHScr=13 - Default height of horizontal scrollbar
cxVScr=13 - Default width of vertical scrollbar
You can download Schaps Advanced config. Its a tool that allows you to easily make these changes. Just launch the app-->go to user interface-->vertical scrollbar width. Set it to 0 pixels = no scroll bar. Ditto for the horizontal scroll bar.
Now if only I knew how you guys plan on scrolling through the screen without a scrollbar...lol
i strongly suggest NOT to hide your scroll slider unless you have a backup of your system.
not all apps support touch scrolling and you might get stuck.
Hi guys,
Is there anyway to decrease the size of the top and lower bar in wm 6.1. The bars are hideous and big. I think they are really annoying.
TIA, Cas.

Welcome to the forum
Yes it´s possible llok for a program called advanced configuration using the SEARCH button, you´ll be albe to change the width of the scrollbars easyly
I think there is no option to change the size of the top and lower taskbar in Adv. Config. You can only change the size of the scroll bars.
you can hide both using vjtoggletodayalphaII... or no2chem's NueNoBar... resizing.. well.. you can use vjtogglealphaII and some registry editing to resize.. but it'll look REALLY bad
Is it possible to make the alphabetical index, in the contacts window, bigger?
Each box of 3 letters is so tiny, I can never select the correct box.
Is there a setting in Advanced config or a registry setting to fix this?
I am using a stock HTC rom.

Try this out. It's much more convenient and works with the stock contacts application. It's called Random Access and it puts a larger alphabetical index down the right side of the contacts. It's great.

Dwizzy,
Thanks for the quick reply. This program looks ok but I was really looking for a way to increase the alpha listing size. The contacts program itself is fine and I hate to load new programs to fix minor issues in programs already working.
Anyone know the reg hack to fix this?
what is the best way to show missed calls \ sms etc in the home page. or in the notification toolbar
the less stuff I need to install around it, the better
I would prefer not install max manilla really.
and if I had to, then I dont want it to change the look on my HD2
regards
Just use Co0kie's Home tab it shows missed called etc with minimal change of the homescreen, use the search function to find the thread hope this helps ^^
it increase number of shortcus (makes them smaller).
also it changes few things in the layout which i dont like much

do you mean you aren't getting missed call/sms in the notification toolbar?

You can turn off all the things that change the layout so that it looks exactly the same as default. Everything in Co0kie's home tab is optional.
I dont have notification in the top bar,
it would be nice if I can see all the changes in one place really, ideally the lock screen but I dont want S2U2.
I could not find a way to revert cookie home tab to 3x3

Sorry mate - my bad. The next release, which is imminent, will have 3x3 back, as well as number of quicklink pages, so you don't have to have the left and right ones (if you don't want them).
so there is no easy way to see
missed calls\ new sms
in convenient one location?
Hi,
Is it possible to deactivate the Opera Auto Adjustment when zooming in or out so you dont jump to de left border of the current content and that it doesnt change text position?
Hope you can help me
Interesting question, would like to know that too. Its sometimes hard to look at opera while zooming, cause it just jumps around while adjusting to that column you zoomed in.
++++1
That's the only thing I dislike with Opera 9.7. Using registry tweaks listed here at XDA elsewhere makes Opera smooth and fast. If it just stops self-adjusting after zoom it will be at least as good as Safari on iPhone.
+1 for me, it's very boring with some sites

yes, it is possible, but it has some issues also.
With regedit, go to the key HKLM/Software/Opera/Prefs/Adaptive Zoom/Default Zoom and put 0 instead 175. You dont need to softreset.
Hope it works for you
works for me, but no tap to zoom now...
thanks!
that was nearly exactly what i was looking for.... ^^

same for me
this "auto adjustment" is text reflow. It means that you don't have to scroll left and right to read text, after zooming in. You can't change this behaviour.

as I said before: it has some issues. But i think with this, you won't need to double tap to zoom
If you type in (opera:config) without the http and then scroll down to user profs. Then scroll down to Limit Paragraph Width and deselect the check box after that scroll down to bottom of the page and select save. A pop up box will pop up. select OK. Then soft reset. I think that should do it for you.

This is just what I needed! No more jumping around when I zoom! There are some issues, like no more double-tap to zoom, and some pages get zoomed out to full screen and become very small (like touch.facebook.com and the search homepage itself, for example), but it's a small price to pay for me

This didn't do anything for me. Can't see any difference with this tick on or off....
