I hate how the sprint releases of HTC are always slimmed
more sprint software and junk, less hardware..
is there anyway to get the FM radio to work on the CDMA sprint version ?
and i dont ever think the dual camera feature will come to sprint from any htc's arghh lol
I just got my htc touch today, i was here before wheni had my mogul etc...
the device lags ALOT with the sprint rom, and i hate the sprint music store...
But im guessing I have to wait longer before there is any real cdma rom out that is worthwhile ?
Nope, I posted the FM Radio cab and multiple people confirmed it didn't work on the Sprint version. Sorry.

There are several custom roms already available at PPCGeeks, as well as a kitchen. Their site's Raphael board is mostly (if not all) CMDA, most of the XDA is focused on the GSM version.
No2chem has been working with the fm radio and got it run successfully on the CDMA Diamond, but has hit a hardware snag on the Touch Pro.

May I know why you hate SPRINT that much and still stick with them?
C'mon dude, shell out ~ $800 instead of $300, buy unlock Touch Pro. You will have dual cameras, FM radio with RDS and less "sprint software and junk" (sic) then QUIT complaining/whinning!

Nice Fisher Us Sprint users cannot do that. Sprint uses CDMA. The GSM radios in the other carrier's Touch Pro's are not compatible.

hi there,
there is no offical 3 rom for the unit, as 3 never took on the unit, your roaming is due to the 3 sim being in the handset, and how the network is being registered on the unit. I have the same issue when i put a 3 sim into my tytn2 and diamond
3 have got the kaiser.....
And i'm using a vanilla htc with planet 3 fine......
just patch browser.dll so it doesn't report the user agent, and fake it as a n95
works perfect
Regards
Flubster

I think you might be a bit wrong there.
http://www.three.co.uk/business/devices_/detail_view.omp?d=1204798087914
Roaming is displayed because when you don't get a 3g signal, you 'roam' on to either the O2 or Orange network.
and yes - three do have the kaiser because that's where I got mine.
Can confirm planet 3 and everything works fine on any ROM - no need to patch it with the N95 user agent.
Just go to http://mobile.three.co.uk/hb/singleurl
and make sure 3g is switched on!!
Maybe do a search for the Aus ROM. There was one for the original TYTN, cos I tried it (or at least as a Dopod 3 ROM). Chances are they may only be using the stock HTC??
<off topic>
You're brave choosing 3 business - when I considered them, they weren't able to offer push email or any of what I would call "business" services. The roaming is poor too - some countries you can't have data or MMS with their roaming partners.

i'm not on the business tarriff! i only pay £15 a month!

what radio came with your phone? like i said before i just want to test it because i tried a few and am interested in what radio they decided to go with?
Guys,
Any radio that works well for O2 should be good. UMTS (3G) is the same frequency band in the UK and the 2G service (as already stated) is delivered by O2.
I followed this methodology for the hermes and had no problems - and I've tried my Three Sim in my Kaiser and it gave me a better signal than my crappy SE C902!
See sig for radio....
Not related but I thought 3 moved from o2 to Orange a few months back.....?
Also its worth changing your user agent as you dont get all the planet 3 services as a ppc user.
Hi ,
can you plz tell me how to patch browser dll and what is HTC vanilla? plz explain as my knowledge is not very good.thnx

You're right - my bad. They have also mentioned something about sharing infrastructure with T-Mobile.......
Easy way to get planet 3 is indeed to change the reported device to Nokia N75/N95 btw
I have Tytn II from Three, & want to upgrade to WM 6.1. From what you say I take it the standard HTC released ROM RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.28.405.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.17.56_Ship.exe
should be ok? Have read all the background info on Rom versions, flashing etc, but am a bit confused as my 6.0 ROM version is 2.50.771.0 WWE, can't fid that anywhere, all those listed seem to start 1.xx.xxx.x. So if I needed to revert to the Three standard ROM, where would I get it from?
Alright. I got my Fuze about a week ago. Since I started using it I noticed that my 3G speed is extremely slow. It takes forever for youtube videos to load and when I do a speed check at dslreports.com/mspeed I only get an average of 50Kbits/sec!!! This is on 3G with full service. I was using a BlackjackII and with it I always got about 900-1100kbits/sec and youtube videos loaded in just a few seconds. It's like I am dialup now that I switched to the FUZE. I talked to HTC and they said it had to be the carrier, which is BS in my opinion. When I am at my house I only have EDGE and it works as expected, about 150kbits/sec, sometimes higher.
I have already upgraded to ROMeOS and it is much smoother and drastically improved battery life but didn't help my 3G speed problem.
Anyone have any ideas on what could help me? I am not familiar with changing the radio, is that something that might help?
Thanks,
Sam
It's still possible that this is a provider issue, maybe they cap their 3G speeds at 50kbit/s?
When my phone switches to 3G reception, the signal strength decreases.
Maybe that can be an issue too?

I don't think so, that would be false advertisement. And besides, sitting here at my desk at work with my blackjackII just over a week ago I could bet 1000kbits/sec easily.
Man, I really love this fuze, but it is pointless to have it if I can't use 3g.
first go to settings
connections
advanced network. make sure hsdpa/hsupa are enabled
and if that dont help sometimes roms get better speeds
im on proven and ive gotten over 1000 before so give it a shot
I just tried it both ways...enabled and disabled. 30-50kbits/sec both ways. I had the same problem with ATT stock ROM and now with the ROMeOS. Do you think a diffrent ROM would help?
what does your phone say at the top
e or 3g or h?
and roms do effect it but it could even be your area
have you tried it different places?

When I have HDSPA enabled it says H, then under it says 3G AT&T. If I disable it then it says 3G instead of H.
id say try out another rom
even different versions of the same vary.
one of the older proven roms i only got like 400 on 3g then the next it was up over 1000

Maybe it's your SIM card. I know that when I got the orange SIM card my speeds were absolute ****e. Its pretty obvious why when if you just take a look at the size of the gold contact. Needles to say my problems went away once I got a new blue SIM.

Whenever I rooted my One S the cell signal display changed to 3G/H vs the 4G cell display I had with the stock tmobile htc one s rom. My question is if this is only a display change or am I actually getting a signal speed and coverage loss with the new rom I rooted on my phone. Thank YOU!!
I am not sure how you rooted, but it looks like you installed the euro version or something
T-Mobile USA has a 3G UMTS network, they just changed the icon to always display "4G", the ROM you flashed shows you more details of what youre really connected to atm than T-Mobile thinks you need to know
3G usually means a UMTS rel.99 connection at max 384 Kbit/s, used for voice or data and saves you battery.
H means HSPA which is also a UMTS 3G technology for faster data, and for eating your battery. Up to 42Mbit download at tmous iirc. (Best case scenario ofc!)
Okay, so I don't have any speed loss just because I may be on a euro rom..... Correct?

Can you do a speed test. I have the same issue- only because I have my wifes unrooted/stock one s I know there is an issue. She gets a consistent 13 mbps and I am only getting 5 mbps. I've tried different radios (EU vs Tmous) and kernels (fusion) and roms (Maximus vs Viper vs Trickdroid) and I'm not sure what to do next. I am not able to get 4g speeds after have unlocked/rooted...

CWM was unable to mount so I have TWRP 2.2.0

Yeah that's a rom issue, it's also there on Trickdroid. They claim otherwise and blame it on HTC. I've ran both 2.21 and 2.31 RUU, stayed stock but rooted and never had that problem.

Upon using my Straight Talk Nexus 5 with an AT&T sim, I noticed the data connection displayed LTE, which I've never seen before on Straight Talk. Is anybody else noticing this change? As far as I can tell on their website they still only support up to 3G speeds...I'm using the tfdata APN.
Here's pictures of LTE in the status bar as well as my speed test with two/four bars:

Is this a new thing or does anybody know what's up?
EDIT: after looking further into it I saw people have been getting LTE on the Nexus 5 with Straight Talk since the 15th of November withe new AT&T sim card and tfdata APN settings. I'm still curious however as to why LTE is just kicking in now instead of a month ago when I got the phone, with the same setup.
It's been a few months they started offering Lte service

ST has been supporting AT&T LTE since release of their "new" SIM cards which use the tfdata APN. Not knowing where you live, I suspect AT&T just rolled it out in your area.
Are you using the ST recommended APN settings, or have you modified them slightly as some websites recommend?
This.... The main reason I moved from Note to Nexus 5. Very quick. The other change they made recently is to be more clear on data usage. I think it explicitly states 2.5 GB now before throttling. Be careful with that LTE!

Judging by the fact that your picture very obviously lists several LTE bands, I would wager to guess that yours is an LTE variant.

Just realized you said iPhone there. [emoji33] Not an "apples to apples" comparison there (pun intended).
Did you verify that the settings inside the APNs match? Same exact carrier and plan? Data roaming turned on/off? A LOT of variables here...
Some ROMs display 4G, and others show LTE on the same network and APN. It could depend on your radio version, as well add internal carrier provisioning settings too (accessed through a dialer code).
Some custom ROMs will let you change what is displayed on the radio icon as well. But that's semantics.
Try a speed test to actually measure throughput.
