Hi,
For a few days, I cannot enter the Settings panel anymore. It just doesn't do anything, when I try to start it from the Settings TouchFlo screen or from the Settings shortcut in the Start Menu.
When I run ctlpnl.exe with the right parameters, the corresponding screen open, but I'd like of course to get the full Settings screen.
Any idea what I could do?
Thanks!

Could anyone export the registry key HKLM\ControlPanel and all its content? I'd like to compare with mine and see if something prevents the loading of Settings. Thanks a lot!
PMail me your email-address and I'll send it to you.
[edit] --> just send.
DeepThought kindly sent me an export of the ControlPanel part of his Registry so I could compare it to mine. Differences were minor and not relevant IMHO. Anyway I delete that part from my Registry and import his export but it didn't solve the issue.
Does anyone have another idea or have the same issue?
If you recently installed MS Voice Command, version less than 1.69..., that could be the problem. I had the same problem. Several hard resets confirmed MSVC was the problem.
MS Voice Command 1.6 German
Hello Guys ...
I read much about MS VC 1.6 cause Cyberon Voice Speed Dial
doesn´t work well in German - and would like to test it now.
Could someone please provide a download link?!
Thanks!

No, I've never installed MS Voice Command.

Just for reference I am using the Most Beautiful edition rom.
Navigate to HKLM/Software/HTC/CommManager
Do these following steps... (without the quotes)
Change "SuppordedFunctions" to 9 (if only at 7, I will show how to add IR as well)
If you DO NOT have IR in your Comm Manager:
Add a new key and name it "7"
In that key, create a new string value and name it "Default" with the data being "IR"
If you already have IR, then add this to get VOIP:
Add a new key and name it "8"
In that key, create a new string value and name it "Default" with the data being "VOIP"
There you have it. Now you have 9 settings in the Comm Manager. I do not know exactly what it does yet, just wanted to post my findings. Someone can maybe clean this up a little and add it to the Wiki if they find it helpful.
I just enabled this and it does indeed give you an 'IP Phone' icon, plus if you click the settings there is an IP Phone option. Neither actually do anything except make it beep....
I just put a sniffer on to see if there was a DNS lookup for a SIP server or anything when you click the Icon, there isn't I assume this will be something that is provided with your GSM contract and will be pushed down to the phone via OTA. If you click Phone Options, then services and get the settings for Voice Mail & Test Messages there is an option now for 'Internet Voice Mail', this is greyed out though.
Andy
at least it's possibly one step closer to figuring out how to get it to work... or at least how to turn it on and off when it is working.
I just tested this on the PDAVIET3 WM6 ROM. This brings up the Error message:
Comm Manager only supports 7 Entries. -> does NOT work.
In order to find out what is causing this please let me know where to check the Version of the Comm Manager(already have a dumped pdaviet3 rom on my pc at home.) so I can compare it to the Version you have.
I hope we can get this VOIP Service figured out soon

Look here
On the other thread about the Internet Calling in WM6 thers is a link to the MSDN site. If you dig about on here you can find lots of information regarding this; I thought this was interersting:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb330889.aspx
Unfortunately I don't have a SIP server so all I can do is sniff the network and watch the phone attempt to connect to the SIP server....
Andy
My Comm Manager version is 1.3.2.0
I also have a copy of 1.0.3.0 which I believe is from the 2.25.11 cingular shipped rom.
someone post a screen shot of the voip button please
The one in the linked thread now comes up with 8 functions at most. Has anyone got a rip of the Most Beautiful one?
I do.. here you go
Also working on getting a screen cap of the button.
Hmm that file isn't working for me, the 7 button that was integrated into Orwells worked with 7 max, the 8 button from the linked thread worked with 8 but that one just refuses to run, I'm on the clean WM6 ROM.
I made this cab with trojan9x's attachment and it worked for me
Here is the screenshot
Still no dice, I think a dll or something is needed for the Orwell ROM. Thanks anyway guys.
Here's how mine looks.

im superficial just like everyone else. even if it does nothing... I WANT IT!!
Cab-file works for me @ WM6 MB-edition (thnx guys). But unfortunately when I click on settings>ip phone, nothing happens..
good one..
maybe someday we'll have x10 or more buttons to come..
hehe..
Great Find Trojan9x. It pushes us one more step closer to understanding the "Internet Calling" Feature.
@ TROJAN9x:
I tried adding these Registry settings on my HERMES with WM6 and it says that only 7 is supported. Do you have ny clue about HERMES and it's limitations or do you think there might be another setting for this?
But it works fine on my Wzards.
I personally dislike voice command, so I looked for a way to bring back voice speed dial in crossbow. It took me a few hours to find the cure so I thought I'd share.
First you need to reinstall voice speed dial itself (cab attached).
That was the easy part to find, but to make it work with the button on your bluetooth headset you also need to do the following changes in the registry:
From HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\VoiceCmd.exe" (string)
To HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" (string)
and
From HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "\Windows\btagext.dll" (string)
To HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll" (string)
That did it for me, voice command is in the rom so you will just have to leave it there (at least in the MB crossbow).
Works Great!
Thanks!!
It works great on my WM6! I really appreciate you sharing it.
Just one issue: I cant hear that beep in my BT headset after which you are supposed to speak. Any workaround for that?
AFAIR my headset beeps just as it did on wm 5.0 but i'll check that tommorow, I have a motorola h700 bt headset btw.
Yep!
It works for me to Thanks man.

I checked it and the headset beeps in the same moments as it did before, but with a different sound now.
gonna give it a try.
I also dislike voice command. I find it difficult to recognize my contact's names. So i prefer voice tags!
Great post thanx!!!
Saludos a mi amigo Jorge Raig !!
Been looking for this! Super! Thanks a lot!
I have been looking for this.. thanks alot.

Mine was doing that too...if you phone vol is on silent ie. silent or vibrate mod then it will not beep for me...sorry it you all ready tried that but that is the problem I have found and if you find a fix for it please let me know.
This thread should be sticky.
Any mod can make this thread sticky ??? Many people (including myself) hate voice command. So, this thread is really usefull if someone prefers Voice Tags instead.
Excellent contribution.
BEst Regards.
mUn'r ROM comes with CVSD v.1.2 included, everybody should try it.
Voice Commander is Microsoft commercial product, available in few languages (American, English, French, German...) and not very usable for users in other languages. It's not part of Windows Mobile 6, and as I don't use it, I made myself a ROM without it
me too , i hate voice comand because when i try to call mike voice comand dial difference name so i do not knoe why
The file doesn't work.
It seems that the file is corrupted! I'v being tring to download through varius computers and connections but when I extract the .rar it gives me the "file corupted" treatment!!
looking?
I think it's great you created this message with a manual howto make Voice Speed Dail work, but I cannot beleive all the reactions with "I was looking for this".
The answer is on this board allready so you weren't LOOKING and most certainly didn't use search
Thanks ! I was also looking for this and found it off google. However, I have a problem.
When I use the bluetooth button to use voice tags, I get an error saying "There are no trained voicetags".
Even if I launch the app seperately , "start -> voice speed dial" I get the same error.
This is on a T-Mobile Dash (excalibur) with the leaked official wm6 rom.
I can't even add a voice tag! Once I get into contacts and pick a contact, under the "menu" menu I don't see any voicetag menu item. There is a speed dial menu items but selecting it doesn't show any voicetag specific options.
Please help ! Voice Command sucks SO bad that I wouldn't use it if someone offered me lunch/dinner money! Voice command cannot recognize most people on my contact list. I agree its a pain to train tags, but better to have few contacts working 100% than all contact working 0%.

Any help, anyone ?

Hi again.
I try to install some voice command or voice dial software on my Mega and i have some problems.
By first i can't install/use "Microsoft Voice Command", after install and using "voice button" my speaker just play "hype". Few days ago i install this soft and it work for some time, but i hard reset device and now there is no way and version to install it i try:
- 1.6.21725
- 1.6.20771
- 1.6.19971
- 1.6.19965
- 1.6.19214
- 1.6.17913
After this i try alternative soft like:
- Voice Dialer
- Voice2Go
- LookUp
all this soft not work so good as i want.
Before HTC T3333 Mega i use Nokia N95 and i must say it has 1000 times better speech recognition than all i try-it till now on WM6.5.
Can someone tell is there is some other soft worth to try or is there is working version of Microsoft Voice Command for Mega?
Many Thanks.

That is good to know! Im getting my touch2 next week. just one question did u completely un install the other package coz sometimes it conflicts with each other.
Thanks
Yes.
Mega has no any voice recognition software installed by default, so i install it each one separately including device reboot or some times even hard reset.
I try to change language, install net framework, uninstall all other software on device. Nothing help.

DEMO version? I have the MS Voice command here. Let me try it when my touch2 comes. the version I have is 1.604622.0 MSVC.
thanks
I found "Cyberon Voice Command" which work perfect and support my native language(Polish). Works perfect but bluetooth can't call voice command
If i solve this problem i win!
I got the same problem on a Samsung SGH i780, on which the Voice Command is not installed by default.
I spent a couple of days on this issue before give up.
So, I hope you will find a solution on the Mega
About "Microsoft Voice Command":
- After installation there was no correct/any entry in "HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand". I correct the path value, but I left the handset in the work, so i can't test it now.
- MVC with connetion with HTC Touch2 Mega have bug, after too long press "Send" button it doesn't work.
maybe you can give us a link to MS voice command
Microsoft Voice Command 1.6.21725
Here you go: RapidShare Link Can be downloaded 10 times
I can't upload it as attachment, so if any one can please do this now in this thread. Thanks.

What version you use?
so does MS VC works on Touch2? I would like to also control coreplayer using voice commands, anybody hear about that possibility? I'm going to ask on coreplayer forum about that. Would be really awesome to control multimedia and phone via voice commands
On my htc works fine, i don't know how about cooperation with coreplayer.
Tried installing MS Voice command .. but after installing I couldnt find it in the programs ..dont know where it has gone !!
I'm surprised not one of you has mentioned "Tell Me"
get MSVC installed, google samsung TellMe, download and install, works perfectly on my touch 2, well, 90% but thats mostly my accent that causes problems.
So what.... Is there any Voice-Dailing Software, that works with Touch2 AND a Bluetooth-Headset-Button?
It does not work on HD2. Other parties' voice could not be recorded. Any soulution or replacement?
Tks in advance!!
+1
I installed the cab 2_Way_In_Call_Recording available somewhere on xda. It works a little bit better, but the voice of the callee is very very low.
It can be made to work with a few registry changes (on my TP2).
I sent the list of changes to Vito, so check with them.
I do not have the list with me right now.
I'll check back in about 12 hours to see if anyone still wants my list of changes.
awaiting for your help!!! Tks in advance!
Me2
Kind regards,
Bert
After trying almost every available piece of software (including Vito) and failing miserably, I came to the conclusion that it might be sea Windows Mobile build issue.
However, the above post about TP2 may suggest something else. Let's wait and see.
Xorgeo,
If you could share your registry tweak to make Audio Notes work, it would be awesome.
Thanks.

Thanks Xorgeo,
I actually have these values already in my registry... I guess it's what the 2_Way_In_Call_recording cab does.
This registry tweak works, but the callee's voice seems quite low.

Maybe it is picking up the callee from the microphone. My guess is that when you use the speaker-phone it is much loader.
I don't know how to fix it, but it is my guess that "There may be a registry change for that".
Thank you...

Thru trial and error, I discovered the minimal registry changes required for my TP2.
Hi,
I am new on this portal but I read a lot in the last days and was very surprised of the solutions you find and also the apps you made working. Great
I know its not looking very good to ask as newbie for help but I hope you can help me... I am searching for more than a week for a solution and tried even to edit the registry but unfortunately I am not good enough to find the solution
So what do I want do to?
I have a HD2 (branding free) and I want to install Avaya One-X mobile.
Well the installation was succesfull and I also get it running inside my company and also the private modus. But since I have it installed I hear no ringtone. It always plays an "ding" and thats all.
So right now I always have to keep my eyes on my mobile to see if someone calls me or not.
And the second problem is that I also get no caller picture displayed..
But as soon as I deinstall the one-x everything is working (phone rings and caller picture is displayed)????
So you are my last hope to find a solution. Please can you help me?
If you need any further infos please let me know
Thanks
Frank
oh... the one-x mobile software is free for download on the avaya webiste
I can post you the link later (I am not allowed to post it right now...)
i'm getting mad with it...
Now I am a step further.. I now that the software deactivates the onboard call handler. I think it is only a registry setting to reenable it. after done the caller name+picture should be displayed and even the call-slider should be back.
Does someone have an idea where I can find the entry?
well now I know exactly the differents between the registry with one-x installed vs without. But I have no experiences in reading/interpreting my results.
Is a Dword something which can be used as name? or is it only a value?
Does someone has a guide for beginners please?
Did you contact Avaya support for assistance?
I have recently taken over all our telecoms at the office (avaya system)
Saw your post on One-x and been reading a little on it. Where did you get the install files from and did you get it working in the end?
I have a support contact with a company called central so I can contact them for free advice if needed
is this the version you are using?
http://support.avaya.com/css/appman...loads/P0438/5.2.x/C201012083328498084#summary
I'll take a look at what the installer does as I've not heard of it before but it's not letting me register to download it .
yep that's the software I am trying to download
Could not create an account either
I have emailed my support company and they will be sending the software to me on a disc.
thanks for your responses.
I installed the version for pocketpc WM6 (not the UC version) and yes it is working fine
But:
The problem I have is that since I have it installed it
- my mobile does not play a ringtone any more
- "slide to answer" and "show caller name+picture" is away
When I get the disc tomorrow ill post up the results.
This app will be very helpful if i get it working
As for the no ringtone issue I am not sure.
I would attach it... but i have no permissions...
@ fards: there are two versions. one for "Windows mobile 5"and the other one for "Windows mobile pocket pc" (here you can find it for WM6). the first is a UC versions. For this you need an internet connection and a uc-server running in your company. the other one is for normal mobile use. it calls via the phone connection the server and then your call is managed by the server.
support.avaya.com/css/appmanager/public/support/Downloads/P0483/C20090710162819340875658#files
you can find it here for free and you need no login
I do not see the HD2 listed as compatible device.
Did you get it working or still having problems?
How does the Avaya interface on the mobile phone look like?
Is it replacing the WM dialer completly or only while Avaya software is running in the background?
I have just installed it onto my HD2. The install hung at the end for about 20 mins. Reset device and the software has replaced my dialer. Appears to be working but im reading on how to configure the ini file now.
Tested on personal mode and call connected fine.
it replaces the dialer completly...
for the ini file you need the settings of your ACM. here you have to enter different extensions for each function...
you also has to to enter your mobile number in the ACM. Because your are identified via your number.
But can you test if you get a ringtone for incoming calls? thats my problem. I get no
Just to draw a conclusion to this This topic. This solution does not work correctly on HD2. Unless someone has managed to do this and has not shared?
sry... I was offline for a while... Does somesone find the solution?
No i gave up in the end..... bloody crap
