API for detecting keyboard position for StylusLock - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Stylus(BattC)lock 1.6 is working for Touch Diamond and Touch Pro. I would like to add the option to unlock, when the keyboard is openend, specially for the Touch Pro.
Anyone knowing the API or registry key for detecting this
I do not have myself a Touch Pro, so I cannot test myself. I think this would be another great addition to StylusLock.

No one
I do not have a Touch Pro, but I know the screen changes to landscape when the keyboard is slided out, so it must be programmatically detected.
The stylus position is stored in the registry:
HKCU/ControlPanel/Keybd/StylusOutStatus
Can someone check if the same sort of thing is done for the keyboard?
You can also save the registry with the keyboard slided in and slided out and compare the registry, to find the (maybe) registry key.
Hope someone can help me

Maybe it can be implemented into Gyrator. Try to suggest it in that forum (can be found under Useful links)

Did you ever figure this out? I'm trying to do the same thing in an unrelated app. Thanks.

Yes, it is a registry key:
HKLM\\System\\CurrentControlSet\\Keypad\\IsSlideOut
Simple as that

PocketCM Keyboard

Just a quick question - I'm getting a little confused here...
Does PocketCM-Keyboard run on the Polaris or not (I hear there's some problems with XT9)?
If it does: would there be a guide on how to set it up properly (apart from what's on the PocketCM Homepage)?
Thanks a lot!
It runs on my Polaris.
Take just the .Cab on PocketCM Homepage if you don't want to take the .Exe.
After installing, do a soft reset and it will be OK.
@+
I heard that you have to disable xt9. Is that not the case?

Nope. XT9 only come as default input mode for pocket contact manager. PocketCM keyboard is totally different and a lot better than the default keyboard.

I wasn't referring to Pocket Contact. I heard from other Touch owners that you would need to disable xt9 in order for other kb's to work properly throughout the rest of the system. One of the examples would be using a regular kb when typing in a contact name in the email address to field.
buggy with T9

HTC Keyboard or other keyboards like resco Keyboard wont work only built in ones

Recently put 6.1 rom on (cooked one).
The built in keyboard works nicely. However, the HTC Touch or any other ie. resco keyboard pro will not work. It appears in Input and setup correctly. But when you goto word, or another app and click the box to show input methods select the other htc or resco it just goes to normal keyboard.
Any ideas how to fix this as its REALLY annoying.

What is this keyboard ?

Hello everybody,
Today i was at the diamond section, and there is udk with a new Rom for the diamond.
Inthe set of screenshots there you can see a keypad with up,dom, left, right arrows. This seems very helpful to me.
Maybe anybody can tell me, what keyboard is it (think extracted from the new Touch HD).
Is anybody able to bring this wonderful Keypad to our TP´s?
What do you think helpful or not?

No. It's the Blackstone keyboard.
Besides you don't really want it. Since you already have the same size VGA keyboard, that is only different because the Blackstone doesn't have a d-pad so it has those arrow buttons. You wouldn't really want it, it wastes your space and the keys are smaller.
Maybe someone could be so kid and share the files, or a cab?
Thank you

I want original WM Keyboard back !

Hi all,
Do you know a way to enable back the original WM keyboard ? I really miss it because of the gesture settings for shift, backspace, space and and enter keys!
Or do you know a way to enable gesture settings in HTC keyboard ?
Thank you.
Yes and I want wm Keyboard ... please help !!! THX.
the same problem
about 5 hours in active search and with no results
does anybody knows it is possible to take native kbd files from wm 6.1?
I'm wanting to test some keyboards before I buy, not sure what the original win mo one is like or how to get it, but imagine it would be quite hard.
Can anyone PM me some links to get some keyboards to try, like Resco etc? Sorry for hijacking!
In sk-tools I have seen under "Eingabemethoden" (= should input method or something simelar) that the standard WM keyboards are just deactivated.
So you can give it a try with sk-tools and reactivate whatever you want.
I will not try it for you because so far my HD is running fine and I want to wait with the next hard reste for the next rom ...
Best regards,
dingolino

Thank you dingolino you are right, the keyboard is still there but hidden or may I say quite buried by HTC
I don't have the registered version of skTools so I browsed the web to try to find a way to enable it back :
First I tried to enable it in registery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4990566&postcount=3
But it wasn't enough ...
So then I tried SIP Change which allows to force to display the keyboard But the little arrow that allows to choose the keyboard still doesn't display the keyboard in the list So for now I have to launch SIP Change each time I want to choose the standard WM Keyboard (which BTW is surprisingly good and finger friendly enough if you enable gestures )
So the last thing I miss is some hack to remove the s*cking uhh I mean HTC "customized" little arrow at the right of the keyboard to display a menu with all the keyboards installed and also the settings for each keyboard. I tried to wander as discussed it the following post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482910 but for now I didn't found a solution that works.
So if someone have a solution to disable the "HTC customized little arrow" and replace it by the standard one please share it with us
Cheers,
Nibbler.

Transcriber - How to run with HD2 Leo

Hello,
I bought A HTC HD2 and it is graet, but I miss the Stylus for some older Apps and I miss the Transcriber Handwriting-Letter Recogntion. I tryed yet to install some Transcriber-Addon, but it's not aviable in the Menu of Letter Inserting Methodes. Sad!
I want to use it and write with my Fingers on the Screen - for me this would be much easyer!
Who has some Idea for me, some Option, Tool or Application?
Thanks A Lot. Manuel

you could try the SlideIt keyboard. It has a Graffiti part which enables you to write on the screen with your fingers!!
http://www.mobiletextinput.com/Product/SlideIT/SlideIT.php
I suggest to try Swype. You might forget the Transcriber .
I can't help with Transcriber... but make sure you install this if you do use it;

That's wrong, sorry !
In the french release of official 1.48 HTC ROM, you can find in windows folder the program transcriber.exe.
Make a shortcut for it where you want, and when you launch it on the Touch HD2, you can appreciate handwriting recognition, better than ever.
Unfortunately, i've not yet found the way to make it work as a keyboard option
yeah....it recognize "lol" as "Re :" , what a usefull app :<
Make your own Keyboards aviable for an Option in Leo Keyboard Menu (How?)

how to do that?
.
If you run the transcriber app then it stays running till you close it (by selecting a different input type). Any app where you need to type will accept input in the form of handwriting on the screen.
Open file explorer
Navigate to the windows folder
Locate and run Transcriber
Close file explorer
Create a new SMS message
"Tap to compose text"
Write on the screen
It just works
On my HD I used a cab called "miri transcriber"... as the name says it comes from Miri. After reading this post I install it on my HD2 (WWE ROM)... an it works as you said.
Of couse you have to launch manually the "transcriber.exe" in te windows folder. If you need, just create a shortcut with total commander.
Anyway, I really miss my HD stylus.
Hi :
Newish Member so forgive ignorance.
But how good is writing with your fingers ?
Can you use anything less thick ?
Have heard that Asian Markets may have a stylus available soon.
Anybody know anything ?
Also will have access to an older HTC Touch2.
This fortunatley has a stylus.
But Transcriber has been disabled (T-Mobile UK; Win 6.5 ROM)
Can this method be used to enable it ?
Also where is Swype available from and what is installation process ?
Thanks in advance
Seeker10
H i
just install it
I use QuickMenu to change SIP
(btW: I used Transcriper to write this )
Cheers
