When i add contacts in my phone they are not synced to my outlook, im just left with a message which says "needs attention" in active sync.
After i click the message i get a list of the contacts that are not synced, all are the ones i added directly in the phone.
I have deleted the partnership and started over again, the same thing happens.
Any ideas on what is going on?

I had to reinstall my Himalaya to WM2005.
I assigned contact pictures to some contacts. This can be seen in contacts in Outlook on the PC as "ContactPicture.jpg".
These contacts won't be synced with WM2005 - they are missing - no error message or somehing else.
How can I reimport them via AciveSync with the ContactPicture included?
Thanks,
Eggert
Hi all. I hope someone out there can help me. I am having a big headache with outlook at the moment. I am using a T-mobile touch plus with Outlook 2007 since Febuary and have had no problems with the device syncing using Activesync. Within the last week I plugged my touch in and Active sync said that I need to resync all contacts, I have no idea why, and when it synced it left out almost half the contacts. I have looked through all the contacts that didn't sync and can not see any pattern in why they haven't synced and other have. I don't think that I have changed anything on the phone, outlook or activesync. The contacts still exist in outlook. Activesync 4.5 has no settings for contacts to choose what to sync. I have tried to play with the catorgries to see if that made any difference. All the contacts are in the same contact folder as I only have one personal folder. I can not figure it out, and would love some help as I have lost all the usefull contacts on my phone. Please help!!! Cheers in advanced
Ok here is a small question. I have added all of my old phone contacts to the phone contacts. But when I am using the Calender of my HTC Diamond ( which is basicly Outlook ) and set up a meeting, I am not able to add any contacts from the phone contacts. THe list of contacts it empty. So that means there is a phone contacts list and a outlook contact list.
Why? I mean shouldnt this all be handeled by windows mobile? Is there an easy way of getting the phone contacts to my outlook contacts? And will the outlook contacts work for calling somebody?
This just doesn't make any sense usability wise to me..
P.S.: Active sync only "sees" the outlook contacts , which are empty on my phone.
Hi,
please specify "phone contact". Are these one your SIM card? Because if not, they should be synced with your outlook contacts(in outlook, they should show in contacts now)
Otherwise you can just copy all sim contacts to your phone.
To answer your question, yes you can call outlook contacts with the phone, ofcourse after sync.

Before I got my WinMo phone I had all my email accounts in outlook, along with my contacts and calendar. I consolidated all of my email accounts into my gmail account. Imported all of my contacts and calendar entries.
I downloaded my emails to my phone through an IMAP connection, I sync my calendar entries between the phone and gmail. Is there a way I can sync my contacts from my phone to gmail without going through outlook on my computer?
I want to eliminate the middle man (my computer) in all the syncing so all of my stuff is available through my phone or gmail so that way if i'm at a friends and don't have my phone or computer I can still access information if need be.
With the contacts, in case its not clear enough, I synced all my contacts from outlook to my phone when I got it. I then imported all of my contacts from outlook into gmail. Now I get a call on my phone and then add that number as a new contact. How do I sync that new number into gmail without going through outlook?

tried looking here?
I was searching syncing gmail contacts windows mobile instead of pocketpc and gsync wasn't coming up on my search. Ill have to give it a try later. OGG Sync says it does contacts but the only thing I can find on it is calendar.
Thanks for the help
Gsync doesn't sync contacts from the phone to google. Somebody has to be doing this?
Try nuevasync.com
plexo.com + rememberthemilk.com + mesh.com = complete outlook replacement
Is paid service ($50/yr) but is by far the best I've ever used. Will sync your contacts and calendar with device/outlook/google/yahoo etc. I also use rememberthemilk to sync taks online, and Live Mesh for files and photos. Using Linux as a main OS forces you to find all the best-of-breed non-MS solutions, it's entirely possible to ditch outlook and still have 100% functionality replaced with online cloud services.
So recently I formated my computer to Windows 7. And today I wanted to update my Rom on my tilt. So before doing so, I already had outlook installed, and I installed Mobile Device Center, and synced my phone. It said contacts were already being synced. So after it was done syncing, I updated my rom. After all is done, I went ahead and plugged it in, planned on syncing my contacts back on right?
Contacts, tasks, calender were all grayed out in Mobile Device center. And it said something about outlook not being configured. I opened up outlook... none of my contacts are in there...
So, I'm guessing my initial sync didn't go right, and I have lost all my contacts??

regardless of the device center settings did you have all the contacts in your outlook when you looked?
If so I would FIRST backup you're outlook pst, then in sync device settings delete your old device relationship and then connect your device. you should be prompted to setup a new relationship and be able to sync your contacts back.
If your Outlook seems to be missing the contacts and/or corrupted you could try to run the Outlook PST Scan / Repair utility on your Outlook PST and see if that helps.
FYI the PST file is the store file for all your Outlook email, contacts, calendar, etc.
Hope that helps!
