I'm no kidding.. I've tried all ROMS available in this forum and finally got this one (nncuong's) that works blazingly fast plus an ~21MB flash disk! Try and see the difference!
Hmmm... nncuong's is good but I feel it's a little TOO clean. I still prefer Beasty's and Laurentius's

I agree That this is the most stable, has the max RAM and is as fast as anyones out there.
I totally dislike the Leo/Beast Rom because of the low RAM and needless apps.
Jwrights new 0.5 ROM is the only 0.5 ROM todate that hangs at reset.

What do you mean with 0.5 ROM is the only 0.5 ROM? Beast&Leo's latest ROM has an older built and is AKU 0.7. Isn't that right?
Of course there isn't a perfect ROM that suites everyone. We all have different need and tastes.
I'm also tried all Roms, and now I'm using JW's latest ROM. Much more satisfied.
It still have some little bugs (are being solved almost live) and doesn't have videocall but it works (VC Out) with maniware's .cab.

For me, the most stable roms were Jwright's roms and his last one, the 0.7 not 0.5, is the most stable. His previous version, 0.3 if I'm not mistaken, had lock up problems but are solved in his last release.
Leo/Beast roms are good but not as stable as Jwright's roms.
Cheers
i've tried other wm6 roms, leo and beast is also good but jwrights latest rom is the best for me right now. stable and fast for me.
nncuong's WM6 ROM all the way!!!!!!
i tried several WM6 roms i was even thinking about going back to WM5 since there is a rom where you can get up to 30 mb free of RAM but after i tried nncuong's WM6 ROM im more than happy plus it has flashlite already installed so i can try the byka touchflo-like cube (now working with the universal)
i would say try several ROMs until you find the one that suits your needs (i found the one i was looking for and that is nncuong's WM6 ROM)
thanks nncuong. great job, i know it will have bugs and whatnot but the speed i get with my universal its finally up to what i was expecting when i got the uni thinking it had 520mhz.

Hi z0d1ak,
I confirm that the links are working and they are posted on this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333998
If you Universal is G3, than I will definitely suggest to download the ROM for G3 devices only. It gives you an extra Flash Disk with 21.75MB storage.
The total storage after flashing the ROM is:
Main storage: 40.90MB
Flask Disk: 21.75 MB
Ext_ROM: 9.6 MB
KOR!
It's a beautiful ROM, but i have a problem with the bluetooth part of it ... if I try to connect to wireless headset, it connects, but after 1 min the device freezes, the same happens if I try to send to somebody a file, for ex. today I tried to send a small jpg file of 45,9k and the device freezed at different time (45%, 75% etc.) but I couldn't send the file.
Solution?
Thx!
I Agree

I Have tried many, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. Although nncuong's is superfast, Jwrights is super stable, and only losing a little speed for that. So atthe moment with functionality and speed Jwright wins IMHO.

JW's last WM6 ROM (2.12) is one of the worst performer ROM ever installed in my uni. Initial RAM available to use only 24MB.. I used to advocate JW's 2.0.2 but since I got my hand on nncuong's and flashed it.. Since then I'm still a happy user of his ROM... kudos to nncuong for his good work!

Hmm.. haven't tried WIFI with WPA TSK enabled but judging from a posting here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333998&page=8.. seems it still has a bug. I saw a WIFI fix available from one of the thread... perhaps you should try it out!..

hi. I have a htc topaz (touch diamond 2) with official rom 6.5 WWE. so can i install manilla 2.5 on my rom??? and if yes , can you please give me the link for manilla 2.5 for htc topaz wvga?
thank you
Yes it can be done.
Just read the FAQ in the rom-section of the topaz...
Just pick the rom you want from the rom-section.
i think what vijaysapkota asked is for a .cab that will do that inside his rom, not other rom. as far as i know, it cannot be done. the only way is to flash a manilla 2.5 rom.
You have to installe a new 6.5 Rom with Sense (manilla) 2.5, and they only comes as Unofficial Rom.
It's not possible to only installe Sense 2.5 on a Rom.
All the above is right but beware, 2.5 is quite slow on topaz

its very easy... mostly follow instructions & search xda if solution needed...
first install hardspl > just follow onscreen instructions
then download rom and flash from sd card method it means you just rename the file & reset the phone in special way.

Not according to latest benchmarking results (cannot post link, sure you can find them). Same ROM TESS, one with 2.5 is faster than with 2.1. Haven't tested TESS pride III, but TESS Leo II sure feels fast, faster than other Sense 2.1 ROMs.

shav3d-94.nbh is a great ROM.
We are now in 2012 and there to mutch custom roms. I flash my xt720 more than 10 times and the best I try so far is Khalpower's Miui v2 run on android 2.2 only hdmi and HD camcorder have problem the rest run smooth and fast (quadrant at 1000Mz score +/- 1500) http://www.multiupload.com/QD43FUYO5N
New version of Miui that run on android 2.3 are to buggy http://code.google.com/p/miui-xt720/
Do not forget apply patch = metoroiXt720 to MilestoneXT720 bootfix from Mioze7Ae http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1284017
CyanogenMod7 run on andoid 2.3 minor bug fast (quadrant at 1000Mz score +/- ? ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300246
Is there other custom roms that are fast and not to buggy ? please supply quadrant at 1000Mz score if it possible. thanks
note: for new at flashing roms, good video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axj-iDPI8lc
Hey nice thread! i will keep updating this. thanks
i used Bravo 1.9 runing on 2.2, but i didn't overclocked to 1000 Mhz, and was 889 in quadrant (little bit more than galaxy S)
i've been using CM7.2 and quadrant gave me 969 NO overclock, but it's not 100% stable
i like CM7 but it seems to be battery-drain.
why don't you try khalpowers' v4 rom? i think it's stable and supports swap, which few roms support.
Brianlili has picked up support and improvements to CronosX (Android2.3.7) he has done a great job making it clean smooth and stable, with HD recording working. It seems to have great battery life as well.
[ROM] [20120302]CronosX (Android2.3.7) for XT720 continues...HD VideoRecord Available
i tried Cronos but i couldn't make the keyboard to show up even if i changed the language.

If I'm not wrong, there was a moto input keyboard that comes when you purchased the phone. The files will be inside the sdcard. These files will install the keyboard, as well as the pinyin input.
So just ignore the wizard at startup and skip the whole thing until you find yourself in the homescreen. Use Tetra (the file mgr inside Cronos) and navigate to the files (as mentioned above) and installed the keyboard. Then reboot your phone.
It was confusing at first, but once you settle the keyboard issue, the rest are just great.
Just try CM6 and feel the different
wanna try back the rom built by Khalpower, but all the links in his thread were broken...
Now in Cronos by Brian, but i think cm 6.3 is the best so far.
i think ROM 6.3 RC is most stable
i used CM 6.3 a lot back then, i've changed to 7.2 .. and now i'm testing cronosx for a week. and the latter, omg.. like 10 times faster than any rom i've tested before. now i feel like i have a new phone.. apps responding when i push them, i don't need an hour to load the apps menu nor laggy scrolling
gn01222116 I have the Khalpower rom, I am trying to find a way to attache it in a post.
I currently running that version of Miui (nandroid) http://www.mediafire.com/?bo71v7t5fnv92ss
I create 3 partitions on SD card fat32, ext3 and a swap. In ext3 partition create a dir "app" Miui transfer all new apps to ext3 true build in a2sd.
I am also trying to make a step by step youtube video. Link will fallow, I hope.
ai,it's hart to update
I'm actually using CronosX and it's running fine. The phone isn't laggy and the battery life is great. No lagg with camera ( new sdcard really helps ) and HD recording works great.

Well, it does take time for the developers to get the ROMs to that sweet spot where there's virtually nothing to complain about -- and having a variety to choose from is always nice yeah definitely til the wrinkles get ironed out stick with a good stable CM or older version of MIUI...or if you're really tired of flashing your XT stick with the stock ROM
Here is a little contribution to HTC Desire community,
A little cooking experiment :
As I am a French User, I started with latest and fastest MIUI ROM avaiable on MIUI FRANCE forums;
I Replaced all framework packages with latest multilang packages I found here and there,
The result is a rom with these specification :
-Android 2.3.7 : Very fast
-MIUI with latest avaiable packages,
-Multiple themes ( MIUI V4-default- and ICS Theme included)
-Multilang : (English default language, easy to change if language not autodetected after carrier)
arabic - brazilian - czech - danish - dutch - english - french - german - greek - hebrew - hungarian - italian - korean - persian - polish - portugese - russian - slovak - slovenian - spanish - thai - turkish - vietnamese
-4 Way Reboot
-aroma installer, in english now with possibility to personnalize install ( App2sd, app2sd+, data2ext and others settings)
-Nice meteo and news app included
Very stable for two days rocks stable for me!
Hope to have feedback very soon.
Flashed on my stock Hboot, so stay with that configuration please...

V2 is on the way

Now MUI theme V4 is Default
AROMA Installer in English

For this question, GB roms are way easier to make/mod than ics/jb (for starters), so the creator won't have to worry about not booting a lot (wasted a lot of my times modding ICS stuffs, too and they don't work.)
And please correct those grammar errors :silly:

Hi need some info, what about hboot? Or any info about data2sd etc as we know stock storage is very low, any scripts are included? Int2sd etc? And it will be nice to get little install info and screens

sorry it's a long time since I have post something here ( was cooker for omnia and Acer s200 ...winmobile all)
Was so happy to release, but this clearly was an alpha.
too much french inside ^^
Now V2 will be more english as base, and 24 languages.
Here in france the roms autodetect seems provider correctly and language is automatically set (don't really know how is it done, but as soon as I enter my pin code, it autodetects carrier location and switch automatically in french)
Hope you will like it, and hope it will be stable enough for everyday use of every MIUI lovers here!

Okay, that exact description is probably not met by any rom other than yours. I respect your work, I just thought that developing Android 4.x (with MIUI or anything else on top) for our Desires could be more interesting since GB is already stabilized and "tamed" whereas ICS/JB are not.
Concerning slow ICS/JB builds, I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Scratch what I said earlier. Today I found a CM9.1 Rom for the HTC Desire on a spanish forum; it is ROCK solid, as stable as a GB rom. On XDA itself, there are a few devs working on JB for the Desire with great success; they managed to get Project Butter up and running, which is quite a feat. But there are still some stability issues with a2sd scripts and the camera.
Anyway, good luck with your work.
I gave V1 a go this morning, felt really smooth. Had to swap back to the daily driver for work, looking forward to V2.
