can anyone out there develope for me a gps laptimer for the diamond or have i missed a post about this already? i see you can get one for a Nokia...pleeease help?

There's an app called "GPS performance" that does this, but it's not free. It also does acceleration measurements etc.

where do i find that as i dont mind paying for it unless its silly expensive.

Not sure if folks already know about G-Watch. Still in its development stages but ... pretty cool.
G-Watch is a stop watch which supports GPS devices. It keeps track of your distance, speed and altitude.
Check it out!

[IDEA]Decibelmeter

Ehrm, okey.
I was thinking about creating a decibelmeter-application for windows mobile and have made it half-way so far. Am having some difficulties with programmatically computing the correct output in decibel, ie converting the data gathered to a decibel-number.
I know it has been made before (see post here) but apparently heliosdev gave up or just stopped working on it.
Does anyone have a clue? I know that it will be "quite" in-accurate, but it will still be fit for my needs and give a rough estimate.
Good idea but I don't think that she mics of a PPC are able to give really well-founded absolute results in measurement. Maybe relative values but, well...
Nope, I know, but I think its still able to produce a rough estimate. If I only knew how
If it anybody 2 code, I could deliver the graphics in addition...
Pocket RTA pro - does this, thats if you dont wanna continue programming!
it has an FFT function aswell
I know Pocket RTA but I wanna code something for myself
Im learning and only need a bit of help with a few things. Besides, I just want the decibelmeter, nothing more.
Giving up on this one, too inaccurate and too much development. Asking mods to close the thread.
LOL - that was fast!
Here's an older freeware sound meter I use. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37750&d=1177363417 Works OK for a ballpark dB figure

Hehehe, yea, I know, but I kinda realized that its of no use. The measurement will be too inaccurate (basically because of the microphone) and it will take quite alot of horsepower to calculate the dB in realtime I'm afraid. At least if doing it the way I had in mind...

Call/SMS/Data Monitoring and reporting Software

Hi,
I've been looking for software that will monitor and report on usage for calls, smses and data, on which reports can be done, as well as be able to customize the tarriffs for the contract plan I'm on.
I found LCMinutes, but its not what i'm looking for. Does anyone have other ideas?
Thanks
Hi, I'm also trying to found some useful monitoring software as I don't really thrust my mobile network provider). The following information will make me happy (especially when found in a nice, black, very clean, very simple, htc-hd2 kind of look ):
Monthly amount of call minutes in and out
Option to make a call out that is less than a minute to count as a whole minute
Monthly data in and out
Hope someone knows of such program. If I had the skills.. I would have made it myself.
Regards,
Nils

Thanks for your response! However, that program, isn't that a bit of an overkill?

SPB monitor will help with data in and out, but it is not free, you can trial in for 15 days I think http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/wirelessmonitor/
Not sure about the first 2, got to say I was shocked it doesnt show more on usage in WinMo.

I totally agree! i even had a look on SPB, but their closest was SPB Wireless - not much help with what I'm looking for... PhoneAlarm looks like it could be very good, but i have to agree and say its somewhat overkill in what it does have... With the WinMo 6.5 interface on HD2, if it could plugin as a tab? all the better, but then i would have liked it to be able to do general reporting from the tab as well...
Am i asking too much here? I spose pedanticism has its limitations...
Is there by any accident someone here who would be able to create something like this in notime?

This would be a great idea, alot of the minute tracking programs out there were last updated in 2006!

I found there is 'some' usage info in HD2, under Software information of all places.

Thanks, there is indeed some information there, though it is the total amount of usage. I would like to see some monthly data (generated from the monthly start day put in by the user, preferably your bill date of course).
LSMinutes gets close, but is too complex and too bad looking (no offence to the creator here, you're free to use my template ).
Other programs like homescreen++ seem to be an even greater overkill, or is it just me that thinks so?
If anyone would like to use the template that I created earlier in this topic, I could deliver *.PNGs or whatever..
Regards,
Nils

nobody willing to give this a bash? I'm using SPB Wireless, and its good, to a degree, but its only monitors data connections on the phone, and.... well, i was hoping a dev out there could get a working app to watch it all

police scanner

hey hows everyone doing? i was wondering if there is an app that i can use for my htc hd2 phone? any help would be appreciated thanks.
are they not illigal in most places?
But as far as I know there isn't. sorry.
WTF is a police scanner? You mean a GPS-navigator, which shows you the radar-cam in traffic? Try a look a sygic-mobile maps.
But without any information what "a police-scanner" is and where you have seen this app, the information from your side is very poor....
Hmm.
I think you mean Scanning RF channels, As this isnt part of the HD2 Hardware the answer is no, sorry. Dont think I have heard of any mobile that does...
Only thing I could think of would be streaming via web realtime updates but also never heard of any sites that do it...
So basicly no..

Yep, you can listen to police scanners from around the world with WunderRadio
police radio
Hmmm, why. Just why would you want this?
The iPhone has it.
There are also programs for the HD2. A Dutchman has made a program where you can track the police, firefighters, ambulance and Royal Dutch Rescue Society via RSS feed and google maps mobile. Perhaps there is something in other countries.

To avoid the cops? I thought that was obvious
Thanks for the post, listening to police in the USA is not against the law.
Actually Radio Shack sells receivers, but with the digital invasion, it is getting tougher to hear them, frequency hoping and such.
Analog signals were easier to follow
I couldn't get wunderradio to work for me, but this is what I did do to FINALLY get a LIVE POLICE SCANNER.
Download http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/
GSPlayer for PocketPC and install it.
Then go to http://m.radioreference.com/?a=la and find the .mp3 stream you like.
Then just copy it into GSplayer. I did this copy and paste way with mymobiler.
It should buffer and then connect.
IF you guys find an easier way please share.
OMG... I'm an idiot. It works with Wunder Radio. Just copy the url into the "OpenURL" and it should connect. For the life of me I didn't see "OPENURL" and was trying to use the search function....
Now we have two ways...
You're looking for an app called WunderRadio... It's kinda no frills, but I can stream internet radio from around the world - and Police Band Frequency is pre-installed for MOST U.S. cities
yeah metta 24 is absolutely correct. my friend with an iphone has an app where you can listen to live police feeds. lol its not illgeal and usually you can get them from the county's website of where one lives. lol some old people listen to live police radio feeds to see if there is trouble in a neighborhood. i just thought it would be nice to have one and i saw it on the iphone
Yeah the iPhone has a couple of these apps. They are pretty cool.
That is one thing I'm going to miss and probably be pissed off about once I make the permanent switch to my HD2 from my iPhone.
The iPhone is the preferred platform to make a mobile app for in the eyes of most businesses. I mean the App store has only been around for a couple years and it has pretty much blown away what WinMo has to offer.
Yes there are a lot of "apps" for WInMo but they are strewn all over the place. If you look in M$ Marketplace under free/utilities there's like 14...
14?! Come on. There are like a few hundred or thousand for iPhone.
Oh well though. The positives still outweigh the negatives for me.
uhh trapster?
anyone know of a UK one ?
Did everyone completely ignore my post? I showed how to get police scanners on your WMO device...

This software is amazing, i've been playing with it all day. Its just as good as my brothers DJ kit apart from that you get a mono sound when you are monitoring one song while the other song is playing.

Garage Door opener using FM transmitter?

Is it possible?
Does someone want to make a lot of money? If this is created yet... it has a lot of potential. There is only 1 other app I can find on this topic and it involves purchasing an internet enabled garage door controller.
I would like to use mine for the my University's Campus Faculty/Staff parking gates.
