Does anyone know where I can get hold of the original stock rom for the ppc6700 apache for alltel. I upgraded my rom many months ago, and I love the upgrades, but my phone recently fell and parts of the hard casing are now missing. I want to turn it in for a new one and I have insurance, but I've heard that having an unnofficial rom flashed on my device could give them reason to reject my claim. Hence I'm searching for the original Rom to put back on it before I turn it in. I did try the link in the wiki. The alltel link was a dead end.
found it
Nvm. Found it in ppcgeeks.com searched for oem rom and found a post with downloadable roms factory roms.

This is probably a stupid question, and I think I already know the answer, but I'm going to ask anyway. I have a G3 Cingular 8125 (Wizard). If I upgrade to a WM6 rom, what will happen if I do a hard reset? Will I revert back to my original rom, or will it reset with the upgraded rom? Also, is there anywhere to download the original Cingular rom in case I ever need it (for customer service or something)? Thanks!
it will reset to ur upgraded rom/
you can download the original cingular ROM at
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/8125/software-downloads.html
So if I upgrade to WM6 and don't like it/whatever, I can go back to origional with that ROM?
yes, you can.
So which ROM is the most stable, straight up WM6 rom? It doesn't have to have a bunch of extra stuff. If I want the extras, I'll install them.
I'm having trouble with my Tilt (it recently started being randomly unresponsive to commands (15-20 second lag some times). Is there going to be a new AT&T 6.1 official ROM with updated drivers? My device has the 8-25-07 ROM date, and before I decide what to do I'm checking on the status of official AT&T releases.
No, as far as I know, there isn't an official one yet. However, a lot of the cooked ROMs on this site will probably fix your problem.
If you can't wait for the official ATT WM6.1 release then you could try their latest WM6.0 release http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=67&act=sd or as mentioned, could try a cooked ROM.
upgrade ur hardspl and the lags/freezes will be gone.

Looks like he is still using an old Stock ATT Tilt ROM (WM 6.0), so that is not likely the issue.
@ gmfeld. If you have had your Tilt for a quote some time, it is possible that you simply have some junk, or orphaned registry settings, or something slowing your system down.
I would recommend either upgrading your ROM to the latest Stock ATT Tilt ROM (as posted above), or simply doing a Hard Reset to get your current ROM back to its original state. Of course, do a BACKUP before you do anything that involves Hard Reset or Flashing!!!1
I just got my tilt and I think I have a newer official version.
It is
ROM 1.62.502.0
Date 01/17/08
Radio 1.27.14.09
I've noticed it has a bluetooth headset issue (not sure if it is exclusive to mine) where it will end the call, but won't hang up in the phone program.
gmfeld & vanisher,
I would suggest you at least run PPCPimBackup then a hard reset. If you have a little time this weekend you should read through G.W.E.N.I. then flash a nice cooked ROM. Play with your device and post educated questions in the proper threads. You WILL appreciate your device more than you ever did...guaranteed.

The above is a noob success story. I would recommend you go the same ROM route as he did as for starters.
There is no official AT&T WM6.1 ROM yet, but we're getting there.
Check the shipped ROMs section on the wiki to see how new / old your ROM is.

Thanks to all for all the suggestions. I've been running SKTools, so I'm pretty sure I've gotten rid of all the junk and orphaned registry settings, etc.
I agree with all that I need to flash a new ROM, or reflash my original ROM, that's the only thing left to do to clean up my Tilt. Just trying to get some info on when or if a new official AT&T 6.1 ROM is to be released, so I don't go through that process twice. If I knew that its a ways off, I will probably then go with one of the cooked ROMS now.
just curious how many about to own fuzers out there will stick with the stock att rom or are planning on switching to another?
what possible negatives are there if any?

you should automatically know the answer to this... quite surprised that you actually asked this but OFCOURSE not staying with stock rom ... load's of bloatware and crappy rom ... NO THANK YOU. I'll just flash romeos or natf's when he comes out with his...
flashing a rom that is not your carriers cancels your warranty so you can't get the phone replaced until you have turned it back into stock.
hha stupid question i suppose but i do laugh since your tilt has a stock rom
what about programs like sprite backup and the jetcet print and such that come on the fuze are those available as free cabs or on the romeos?

I have a fuze with a flashed rom, and 1 drawback is the keyboard layout is different then the touchpro and there is still no cab file to fix it.
yes there is its called htc fuze keyboard fix
i dont know how to upload files here?
Flash Flash Flash
So what actual roms are compatible with the fuze? I got my fuze 2 days before official launch and I'm dying to flash it but I have no clue if the touch pro's custom roms are compatible with the fuze without screwing some stuff up.
Can I actually put TP roms on the fuze without screwing it up?

i was just asking i have no idea
Has anyone recontructed the stock from the newly released Fuze yet? My Fuze has ROM vers. 1.95.502.5 WWE. I just wanna know if I'll be able to put the orig rom back on the phone if I have to before I flash it.

Almost flashed... and noticed that the ATT build might be newer.
FWIW ATT did a nice job with the default settings (i.e. sounds/notifications), but would like to have the optimized memory pool from a cooked rom.
stock rom lasted 24 hours here before being destroyed....
Romeos2 is what I ended up with... at&t stock rom seems to ignore/bypass registry settings on some stuff (startup/shutdown animation, HSDPA support, etc.)
Glad I made the switch.
What I ended up doing is flashing an HTC ROM and then just the radio from AT&T, in oder to maintain 3G capability. Of course, the Hard SPL flash comes first.
I flashed my Fuze right away.
I had to exchange it because of an annoying slider wobble issue. I didn't bother flashing it back.
The guy at the AT&T store didn't even notice.
BTW... My second FUZE had a much better/tighter slider. No wobble at the top in the closed position.
When I get mine next week, I will run it for a day or 2 just to make sure that all is well, and then it is the Elite Team rom for me......
Later............
I will flash mine but just wanna make sure I start with a working device.
Do I need to unlock the Fuze to flash ROM?
Will Kaiser SuperCID and Security Unlocker v0.1 work with the Fuze?

you just need the raphael hard spl
Is there an international rom for the Atrix 2 yet, ive flashed a few roms but they are all still loaded with AT&T stuff.
has ANYONE got a link to motorolas stock firmwares?
id quite like to flash back to my stock rom (telecome New Zealand)
if anyone can help me ill bow down
I don't think there's an FXZ for New Zealand yet.
This is why it's recommended to do a cwm backup before flashing new roms.
Daywalker04 might be the guy to go to to get fastboot files tracked down, though I think he needs some of the details about the system to find the fastboot files for us...
Hopefully there's another kiwi around here that can back up the system for you to do a restore.
Note that most of the AT&T stuff can be removed...
I'm kind of interested in the build numbers for Telecom NZ's Atrix 2 firmware.
Thanks, its not actually my phone, before the guy did a backup he used titanium backup to remove some stuff he didnt want, in his haste he deleted something that was related to contacts and he couldnt add contacts anymore, at that stage it was to late to make a CWM backup.
He flashed someone elses CWM backup but it went into a bootloop and wouldnt start at all, so he flashed a custom rom from here but it was AT&T and he couldnt get any service.
hes currently on rebel rom but desperately wants it back to stock (hes a 52 year old man) he was even gona go as far as paying a mobile repair site to fix it back to stock.
I realise this is now an old topic. But, here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php
About 7 years ago a friend gave me their old HTC Evo Shift that wouldn't boot, I decided to flash it with cyanogenmod 7 to see if it would work and to my surprise it did. Given that I wasn't able to boot to stock I didn't bother to save any contents of the existing ROM (if that was even possible?).
Recently I found it again and I wanted to see if I could flash it back to the stock HTC Sense ROM, however I'm having trouble finding the stock ROM, was it ever released? If so does anyone know where I could find it?
