For all the people that recently bought the Touch Pro (Raphael) from Sprint, enjoy it! It was a long wait.
Anyways, I was just curious as to how the battery life on the CDMA version of the Raphael is compared to the GSM Version.
Please post your results for battery life usage in the following format:
Post battery life as usage per day. For moderate talk time, use about 1.5 hours of talk time with an average of data syncing every half hour as a reference.

Results are varying alot and I was just curious as to what our GSM cousins can pull on the battery for average use.
Also, keep in mind that most of the CDMA models out there (specifically the Sprint Touch Pro) have an extended battery. I don't know what the case is with the GSM models, but I think generally, the rule of thumb is if you have the diamond cut back you have a standard battery. Correct me if I am wrong.

I currently have a Samsung fascinate and I really like it but it is plagued with the miss call issue. Verizon has offered to upgrade me to the droid charge for free. I would like to know if it is worth going to the droid charge or will I regret getting rid of the fascinate? I am more concerned about battery life since I have seen many conflicting reviews on this topic. The only thing I have synced on my phone is google account and gmail and I have minimal use through out the day. A couple of phone calls, text messages and checking gmail. I currently have superclean 2.9.2 on my fascinate with no undervoltage kernel and I can get aproximatley 3 to 4 days on a single charge. Will I see this kind of battery life on the charge if I only use 3G? I don’t want to replace my phone with one that will get worse battery life. Hopefully some of the members her have come from the fascinate and can share there experience. Thanks for the advice in advance.
Two to three days on the Fascinate?!?! That's pretty awesome, IMO. I'm not saying others don't get that with the Charge but I don't think it's possible right now - even on 3G only. Results may vary.
From my experience 2-3 days of battery life on most Android phones is asking a lot. I haven't seen that since my days with a Blackberrry.
So far with my Charge I'm happy to get a fully day out of it (7:30am to about Midnight) with moderate use. Check the Development forums; people there claim to be getting much better battery life with the Humble ROM.

I have both phones. and like the other users have said... you'd be lucky to get more than a day on both of them. it all depends on usage. i am a moderate to heavy user with multiple texts, chats, calls, browsing on both phones daily. the fascinate is my personal and the charge is for work, however i use them both just the same. I DO love the thinness of the fascinate, granted the charge comes with a nicer sized screen and 4g. personal preference. battery life however is very similar. depending on what roms you go with. downloading with 4g however drains the heck out of the charges battery. roaming in low signal areas in 4g will do the same.
If you're like me and use your ChaCha all the time and can't help but notice it's incredibly poor lifetime. I have found a solution for you that does not require you to have a separate PowerBank.

Sorry,i have to say that it doesn't work at all for me.
I did 3 complete cycle the moment i got the battery and then charged for over 10 hours but it still last the same as the original or even less....
I don't believe it is real number.

It lasts me for more than 3 days in standby mode, and if i use it, it lasts for more than 2 days. pretty much better than the stock original battery. it is 2430MAH and also, doesnt heatup, no other issues. I am still very happy with it.

Results: I am usually averaging about 15-16 hours with close to 4 hours of screen on time. I couldn't be happier with my battery life running the stock battery. I'm usually just happy to make it thru the day without having to carry my charger on me.
As far as performance, I couldn't be happier on R73. It runs very smooth and lag is practically non existent for me.

You may want to have people post their average connection. It seems to make a very big difference in battery life. I have poor signal here in Gainesville, FL so my battery does not last as long as someone else with the same setup in a better area may.

Being on WiFi makes a dramatic difference oppose to 4G. Good signal gives you a longer battery life.

Insane battery life. Ive also gotten over 30+ hours with 3+ hours of screen on time as well. This phone is really amazing.
Upgraded to Synergy R77 last night. Battery life is still amazing.

I'm on Wi-Fi often and I turn off mobile data to stay under my data cap. I turn it on when I need internet and not in range for Wi-Fi. It's a bonus that being on Wi-Fi helps to consume battery life

Yeah, letting the ROM your running settle in also makes a huge difference. I came from a Rezound, which is a great device, but I pull way more battery life off of the stock battery then I did with the Rezounds extended battery.

Is it worth looking into extended batteries for the GS3? I never used extended batteries before so I don't know the quality of them and how long they'll last. Do they tend to crap out easier than a stock battery or are they pretty good at doing their job?

Its personal preference. My gs3 can last me 24hours with 3-4 hours of screen on time on the stock battery. I don't see a need for a bulkier battery in my case.

Results: Very happy with battery life, without bloatware battery life felt about 20% better. Can go all day on a charge with moderate to high usage. If I seem to be running short on juice I just turn on power saving. I think I hit 10 hours on screen time one day.

I can tell you the Hyperion 4000+ battery is absolutely amazing. I bought the G3 on a pre-order & have used the Hyperion battery every day from day one.
I do a ton of online audio streaming (iheart Radio, Sirius online etc etc) which kills a battery faster than anything else. I also use my Slingbox occasionally which is also a battery killer.
I leave GPS on at all times, have 4 email accounts on push & have my weather updating every 15 minutes. I never use WiFi & have 4G most of the time. In other words, I do the exact opposite of every battery saving tip ever posted....
With the Hyperion battery, I have never even come close to killing the battery in one day (I charge it every night)

It's mandatory I have a good case and not some thin soft gel one. I know extended batteries come with new backs due to thickness, are there decent cases for people rocking extended batteries?

My GS3 just will not sleep. Stock, rooted w/clockwork. Yeah, I delete the standard stuff that I've deleted for years across loads of android devices but this is very, very annoying. Always warm and battery life is horrendous. Any input on this? I'd also like a barebones, pure google rom for it as well. Thanks!
I spend a lot of time in Ukrainian mountains in winter (snowboarding, hiking). Now I am choosing mobile phone where battery would work on -10 °C for 8-10 hours. Previous phones that I owned (HTC Touch Cruise, Nokia 3100; both on Li-ion batteries) switched off on frost in 2-3 hours.
Among stuff that I googled I understood that the problem is in Li-ion batteries. Their range of operating temperatures starts at approximately 0 °C. It does not suit me. So I have to search for phones that work on batteries other then Li-ion. And here is the problem: do such telephones exist? I was not able to find anything...
Are there such batteries for mobile phones that work well on frost?
Are there such mobile phones that work with these batteries?
P.S. I understand that there are different tricks regarding prolonging mobile phone functioning on frost: keep the phone near the body, carry spare battery and so on. Now I am interested in a phone that will efficiently work in low temperatures.
The requirement -8-10 hours in -10°C excludes all smartphones.
Forget ALL of them.
Maybe the Samsung Galaxy XCover2 will work an hour longer than the others.
You would need to find the pure Lithium battery (not Li-Ion) with the exact electrical parameters as the original one for the selected phone. I'm not sure if such exists.
If you can't use the "tricks" you've mentioned, your only option is to use some old cellphone (with a new battery), which usually works for 3-5 days and will work 10 hours in such conditions for sure. I would try some Nokia E65, E52 or C1-01. You have mentioned Nokia 3100 had the problems too, was the battery new?
I would be interested why can't you put the phone near your body, in some pocket... Do you use your phone for 8 hours without interruption while riding?
I am running an unofficial CM 10.1 ROM on my DHD and with 'slight' use I can probably get a full day out of the battery. Prior to the CM 10.1 ROM I was running a custom rooted ROM based on the final official android 2.3 ROM from HTC and I remember the battery lasting much longer (over 12-months ago). I won't be moving back to Gingerbread but want to improve my battery life and have seen good reports of the PolarCell batteries

I guess dhd battery is a pain in the a** for everybody, I suggest you to go for sensation xe, evo 3d type batteries. There are plenty of ways to do it (with battery door or without) I was personally using without battery door because I was already using silicon cover for all phone. Btw you need to apply a small copper wire for external wireless antenna which is already built-in with your original battery door. Search for thread in this section you will find Evo3d battery thread. I have changed to HOX but still my wife is using my beloved DHD with 1950mah Mugen. Believe me it gives equal amount of satisfaction for this money. If you don't want to spend that amount, go for original Amaze 4g battery (which has the highest capacity when compare with evo 3d if I don't remember wrong) still you will be satisfied with battery life.
Please don't ask me, which rom am I using or how is battery life. It depends on people and how they are using.
I can give several examples, heavy usage with all the time 3g, bluetooth, mail sync, whatsapp, viber, browsing, auto brightness but no games and no wireless: it will handle 1.5 day.
or
Moderate usage, all the time mobile network on, a bit whatsapp, several regular calls, a bit browsing, no gaming and wireless off. My wife can easily manage for 2.5 days.
One more thing, if you will have 1950 mugen, your battery will stuck at %15, don't panic it will stay there for at least several hours (according to your usage ofc). Its some kind of a bug. I don't know if somebody found a solution.

Been using a Polarcell since october 2012 from the manufacturer CellePhone: (http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B004I227RK)
New, it lasts the same as the original for me, that means about 3 hours of screen on with about the 70% of the total battery time, automatic brightness but mainly outdoors, so I bet that the auto brightness is actually full brightness the most part of the time, using 3G and no "data sync demanding apps running in background" except whatsapp and the usual google services.
I use to charge the battery every night while I sleep and even though I'm aware that overcharging a long time is harmful I use to let it charge until I wake the next morning.
With this usage schema, I'm facing today a 20% loss approximately, because the battery skips from 80% to 100% when charging.
So is more than a year of usage, around 400 charge cycles, and for 10€ is a good investment for me.
Being from a german company inspires more confidence than chinese clones.

Bought one a few days ago from http://www.ebay.de/usr/wannsee-electronic (Germany).
The one i bought is for HTC Sensation, sold as 1800 mAh. To fit in DHD i remove the "film" and im surprising to see that on the aluminiumcase of the accu is written 1700 mAh.
Contact the merchant today and wait for an answer. So I didn't know it depends on Polarcell or the reseller...
I just got one myself for Desire S, it is a 1600mAh battery. Been using it for 3 days and I'm quite satisfied with this product.. I also bought one Anker battery for Desire HD....
I can't really compare those cuz its on a different device and different ROM. But I feel that both are doing fine for now..... You can give it a try.
Btw, Anker battery comes with full package, it comes with a box and manual.... The polarcell that I received just comes with a battery with no box, nothing else..
Maybe I would suggest you to get Anker.
Don't forget to use Battery Monitor Widget to see if its actualy a good battery.

I'm very satisfy from this battery.After couple charges for 12 hours each now my battery seems very stable. I'm running 30 hours and more with enabled 3g all the time.30-40 minutes calls including viber and 2 hours and a half display on.I think that this is a very gods result for this product.....cost 13€ .
