Hellol all,
I got to see that on starting GPRS, programs which uses GPRS connectivity consumes 100% of CPU usage like windows live and Internet explorer. Due to that my vox get shutdown immediately.
I'm using Dr. Gonzo's Rose WM6.1.
Is there anyone who can help me in this?
Thanks

I'm having a problem with several applications, and I'm not sure if its problem with how they were written, or if the problem is in my WM6.
I leave my phone connected to my computer all day long. When I first started doing this, I quickly realized that it was using my computer's internet connection via ActiveSync instead of my phone's data connection. I didn't want this, and I found the option to tell ActiveSync "This computer is connected to my Work Network". After that, Pocket IE and IM+ (the two apps I use the most) started using my data connection and everything was good.
Then I started getting more apps, for example, TCPMP and Palringo. When I am connected to my computer via ActiveSync, these apps still try to use that connection instead of my data plan. The big problem here is that my work's firewall blocks things like IM and streaming media, so these apps don't work at all.
If I disconnect from ActiveSync and start up TCPMP and Palringo first, then they work just fine. It seems to stick with the phone's data connection once its established.
So, is this a problem where those programs are picking the wrong network adapter? Or is this some issue from running WM6 on my MDA? Maybe even something that's been fixed in a more recent WM6 rom?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have:
T-Mobile MDA
WM6 (InGeNeTiCs_15342_by_mfrazzz)
IPL/SPL 3.08
Hello,
I tweaked my PDA to disconnect from GPRS after 2 mins of idle time.
So when i surf using IE or opera, my connections is still connected.
But when i use remote desktop WM6, is disconnects after 2 mins.
This is really annoing, in other words , i cannot use it... Any1 else experiencing this problem of has maybe a fix?
PS, i want to use the RDP protocol, not an alternative like logmein...
Thnx in advance!

Use for example ping in vxUtil. Also see my related article - I've linked to it from several of my newer articles.

Is there any decent app for monitoring bandwidth on WM6 devices?
I'm on an 'unlimited' data contract that has a fair usage policy of 1GB. As I regularly use my phone (HTC Touch Pro on T-Mobile UK) with my laptop (Lenovo X61) to connect to the net, I need to monitor how much bandwidth I'm using via the phone. As I also use the laptop via wirless LAN and LAN at home, installing the software on my laptop won't give me a true representation of how much data is going through the phone.
Ideally I'm looking for something with the features of Netlimiter to monitor and restrict if necessary.
Any suggestions?
There's really nothing out there?
Surely plenty of people have a capped data limit?
You can use SPB GPRS Monitor.
edit: seems like somebody edited there post and took my answer lol
Hi,
I'm using an O2 XDA Orbit 2 (HTC Polaris) with vintage WM6.1 to connect my Vista laptop to the internet.
The internet sharing app on the phone normally works fine, but whenever my laptop enters standby mode and the connection sharing is active, it freezes and can only be reactivated by soft-resetting the phone.
As opposed to that, suspend to disk and shutting down the laptop work fine - the app simply diconnects.
Is this a known problem and are there any patches or fixes for it?
Such a good day, I wanted to make an inquiry, you could guide me if there is any application that simulates a slow connection in Windows Mobile applications to test for performance, I've tried removing the 3G connection and only works with data connection Edge but I like being able to simulate much slower connections.
If you know of any application is the would greatly appreciate.
Greetings
If such an application excists for WinMo I'm not sure, though for Windows running on PC there's a program called NetLimiter which does what you want (wikipedia info here).
The next alternative would be to buy a (hardware) port-switcher and from there throttle the connection.
Success,
