Where are the sounds located for the keyboard? Can these be changed?
I'm using a custom rom so I can't be sure that it's the same on the stock rom, but check
Start > Settings > Personal > Keyboard Sliding Sound
e: it just struck me that you probably know that already and are actually asking where the sound files are kept and whether they can be changed for something else... d'oh. That I don't know the answer to.

hi, im asking about the sms sent notification, i like it turned on but i dont like the beeping sound when the notification comes is there a way i can turn it off? the notification sound not the notification.
thanks
Go to settings---> Sounds and notifications. You can adjust whether you want sound or not for a specfic notification by ticking or unticking the box in front.
doesn't bother me but i think the OP is looking to turn off the sound when an SMS is successfully sent and not the one for delivery success. That is one of the few, if not the only, sound that can't be turned off. Don't know if there is a registry entry for it.
Advanced Config will disable the notification. But I think it is an all or nothing proposition. Sound and Visual or nothing at all
I actually tried to look for a solution to this thing a while ago.. and everyone told me it's both or none at all.
ive tried many methods but i havnt succeeded , althought im pretty darn sure that u can turn it off, when i flashed a rom onto my touch that rom had a advanced config that could get rid of it
so with the factory rom...I wont be able to turn the notification off? If so, where do I find this advanced configuration?
do a search for Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool. Install that and "have fun".

My coworker just got an Android (HTC Desire HD) and she was wondering if there was a way to let the suggestions appears as she type but to avoid to auto accept those. Since most of the time they are not accurate something a la Windows Phone.
I am a noob when it comes to Android(had an iPhone and now WP7), I tried to play with her phone settings but seems she can turn off the auto suggestion or not. Is there a keyboard she can install or something she can do to have this setting?
Settings > Language & Keyboard > Touch Input > Text Input > Prediction.
You should then be able to un-check Prediction.
Hope it helps.
actually if I rember well that turn of Prediction what I was after is show prediction but don't use those words except if I click on them.

Something like that. It's annoying that the Android keyboard suggest words as you type and use them without my approval. I want to be able to type see suggestion but choose if I want to use them or not. Hope I am clear.
Try
Menu, Settings, Language & keyboard, Keyboard settings, then uncheck "show suggestions"
Change key board to one with more settings this one is my favorite http://www.mediafire.com/?tmm3tymgdzz

I guess you need an unlocked device for that (or whatever you call it in the Android world). If it is the case that thread can be closed I'll let my coworker that it's not possible since I doubt she'll "unlock" her device
Unlock = root

I'd like to edit the default vibrate pattern and I feel as though the information is in a text file somewhere under /system or under / but I can't seem to find it.
I'd like to edit this default pattern so that all calls and text messages come through with a quick 'buzz buzz' pattern.
Anyone have any idea where I can find this file? I know you can create custom vibrate patterns so this information has to be saved somewhere.
I am referring to stock touchwiz jb rom.
You dont need to edit any files there is a option somewhere in settings to make custom vibration settings. Im not sure where it is because i havent been on stock for a few months but i know it is there Try sound settings or something.

The PACman ROM is very nice, but there are few things which I wanted to hightlight and get answers. Well here are my questions
1. I am unable to go back to Stock UI from Tablet UI no matter what I do, tried rebooting and factory reset but still the same tablet UI. Do I have to reinstall ROM completely again, Is this the only option?
2. Not sure if I am missing on some settings, the contacts are not linked automatically (gmail ID and phone number). Not a big deal but if someone knows that would be great.
3. I don't like the full screen caller, can we disable it by any chance? or make it like sense 3.6?
Will get back with any queury after complete usage. Thanks
follow this steps

My keyboard won't apply a space after punctuation. Any idea why?
And yes, auto space is on. I've got no clue what the issue is. Everything is updated.our am I just going crazy and it never did that to begin with?
Anybody? Keyboard version 1.2.48.
Screen protector? I found that space was nearly impossible with the Zagg curved glass screen protector.
No, it's when you insert a comma or something it won't add a space after it. Or am I just crazy and it never did? See,I can type a complete sentence and it won't space.add a period without double tapping the home button.
Use a different keyboard? SwiftKey?
I was thinking about it. Just curious as to why it's got an issue now.
Do you think it could be a messed up ota update? Or is it a glitch in the keyboard software
Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall the Samsung keyboard? It's what I'm most used to.

If you go to settings > application manager > top right MORE menu > Show system Apps > Scroll down to Samsung Keyboard > Storage > Clear Cache / Data, that should set it back up as it was when you got the phone, basically reset the keyboard back to defaults
I've done that . Many times before making this thread. Reset app settings. Nothing works, which is why I think it's an issue with the software.
But I don't see anyone else complaining about this issue anywhere.
I assume you've already Googled the problem?

Check to make sure you have your settings set so the spaces are set automatically. Go to Settings >Language and input >Samsung keyboard (hit the gear for settings) >put a check in "Auto spacing"

Do you have any screen dimming software installed like f.lux etc?
I know they can cause problems with certain buttons due to the overlay
No screen dimming, all keyboard settings are the same as when I head my s6. Before I got the newest baseband update I'm pretty sure it spaced.
I'd give another keyboard a try until the next update then, not sure what's happened, strange bug
How often do keyboard updates release?
No clue

It's killing me. I want to say it's just a glitch in the keyboard software that's giving me this issue.
You're killing yourself, like I say, there are way better keyboards than the stock samsung one available, SwiftKey is by far the best
