hi, im asking about the sms sent notification, i like it turned on but i dont like the beeping sound when the notification comes is there a way i can turn it off? the notification sound not the notification.
thanks
Go to settings---> Sounds and notifications. You can adjust whether you want sound or not for a specfic notification by ticking or unticking the box in front.
doesn't bother me but i think the OP is looking to turn off the sound when an SMS is successfully sent and not the one for delivery success. That is one of the few, if not the only, sound that can't be turned off. Don't know if there is a registry entry for it.
Advanced Config will disable the notification. But I think it is an all or nothing proposition. Sound and Visual or nothing at all
I actually tried to look for a solution to this thing a while ago.. and everyone told me it's both or none at all.
ive tried many methods but i havnt succeeded , althought im pretty darn sure that u can turn it off, when i flashed a rom onto my touch that rom had a advanced config that could get rid of it
so with the factory rom...I wont be able to turn the notification off? If so, where do I find this advanced configuration?
do a search for Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool. Install that and "have fun".

Recently after doing a hard reset i keep getting this box that pops up when i get a new text message. this never happened before, it started after i did the hard reset. it looks like something from another app, i have attached a pic; see the box that has the 'Reply Call Delete' options and the arrows(that takes up more than 1/2 my screen). my problem is that this interfere's with M2D's SMS page and i want to get rid of it, but there is no other program that is installed that would cause something like this to happen.
ETEN M600 w/ Kozhura's custom WM6.1 ROM
M2D Update 14
NO other contact management/SMS programs installed.
Have you checked your notification options screen to ensure that the option for it to display a notification message is unchecked?
Also, from the skinning of that, if the above doesn't work, is this a new ROM flash? perhaps it's an application included in the ROM.
Have you installed ANY other interface, whether SMS specific or not, that might have that screen there as a "feature" of sorts?
Yeah, i've already checked the notification message and unchecked it
Nope, same ROM
The only other interface I've installed is Manila2D, even when I used M2D before nothing of this sort happened
I appreciate you trying to help me out though, Thanks.
Your screenshot looks like Zoom SMS.

Thanks Tomdoodly, I guess I should of just searched more, thanks for your help though.
EDIT: I feel retarded now, its so simple, i dont know how i missed it. All I had to do was go into Phone/Settings/Apprciation Software/ and disable everything!!
Folks, forgive me if this subject has already been addressed. I did run a search and found nothing relevant using "navigation" as my search criteria so here goes...
I used to own a t mobile mda compact and as I recall the nav button (circle) used to flash on a circular motion to give an indication of some sort of alert be it a missed call or a text message for example. Has this feature been overlooked on the Vario IV, touchpro or is there something I need to do in order to enable this useful feature?
If I am honest my patience is beginning to wear thin with this device and its growing list of flaws/missing features which have been left to talented guys on these forums to sort out. Surely T mobile has had plenty enough time iron out these things before this phones release.. (we waited long enough for the thing after all)
My TP does this with the stock rom, no tweak or setting were needed.
Same here.

Apparently you can turn the LED on or off doe missed calls and messages and things like that according to the posts below mine.
There is no way to turn the feature when charging. So if your navigation light does not work when the phone is charging. Then i would say try a hard reset (make sure you backup) and if that does not work then you might have to send your device for warranty or exchange it whatever your options are.
On my Vario IV the settings for flashing the light (around the touch circle thingummy - I really need to read up on what it's called) were disabled by default.
So, under settings/personal/sounds & notifications, check that in the notifications tab that "flash light" is checked for e-mail, text, whatever. Actually, just checked mine after a hard reset and had to re-enable

Actually there is a way to turn on/off the feature for different events (except charging).
Try Start > Settings > Personal > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications
When you choose something like New Text Message, you see an option to "Flash light". Check the box and choose how long you want the nav light to flash.
EDIT: Never mind...forgot to post it and it's a little late.
Thanks guys for your suggestions.. I'll try some of this stuff out and get back to you as to whether any of it worked for me.
Disabled Option
I saw this thread and thought that I'd like this too. I have a stock Sprint TP Rom. I checked out my notification settings and the Flash Light option is there for everything but Incoming Call. However, it's greyed out and won't let me check it. Is there a reason this would be disabled?

It probably becouse on incoming call the whole divice is waked up and the send key is blinking.
There is also settings>sounds and notifications>notifications "phone:missed calls". There you can set an action: popup, blinking and vibration.
hope this helps (names of the options translated from polish TP stock ROM so mey not be acurate )
BHole
Thanks folks..!!
Seems like I totally missed those options for the flashlight alerts. They all work for me now. I have combined them with various ringtones to differentiate the alerts i'm getting. It appears the flashlight indicates alerts even when the device is being charged. Thanks again guys, at least "SOMETHING" now works as expected.
Hi guys!
I own a Touch 3g (Jade). After the last (and first) Hard Reset my phone doesnt play a sound or vibrate when an sms arrives.
after the hard reset it worked without problems. I already checked the windows settings, a sound is activated. As well i activated the LED and a notification bubble. Those work without problems.
I've already been searching the registry and found the values wich calibrate the sms notification, but they where correct (ive read a post in this forum about that topic as well).
has anybody an idea of how to make my phone ring and vibrate again when sms arrive?
I would rehardreset it had times when that was necessary
is there no other option? i really dont want to reconfigure everything again

You don't need to hard reset, because if you do you're just gonna install the previous programs that corrupted your settings for SMS sound notifications.
That's all you need to know really. Everything else is just trial and error from there.
i've solved the issuie via installing smiley sms
thx alot for ur help
just go into your sound/alert settings, and pick a new sound or set it to vibrate. (is this not common sense?) it is built into windows mobile. i cannot believe you installed a 3rd part application that will just slow your phone down more, when the fix is just a settings change
didnt work, as i wrote i checked those settings, tried to change the sounds and even searched the registry....
but its a good solution, now i got smilies in my sms too
cheers
I am wondering if anyone knows how i can get my vibrate-ring to stay set that way, i can set it taht way but it always go's back after a few calls or resetting my device. i searched but could not find the answer i would appriciate any help. thanks
its a known bug for CDMA/Sprint... my friends Tmobile TP2 don't have this issue
I contacted HTC about it. They said:
We are currently aware of this issue and will be addressing it in the next firmware update. Please keep an eye out at www.htc.com/us under the Support Tab. Pick your device from the dropdown. When software updates are available they will be posted there.
So, it's not a big deal for me & will be gone when we get WM 6.5.
ok, well thanks for that info, atleast i know its not just my tp2..
I was having the same issue and found this fix over at PPCG, haven't had a call yet to test it but from what I gather it works.
EDIT: works fine for me.

This was a huge irritation for me. THANKS for posting the fix!
yeah, seems to happen if you put it on ring and vibrate, then later turn your volume down to vibrate only and then turn your volume back up. it will then be Only set to Ring. Doesn't seem to affect text messages though. I will check out this fix and see if it works but above is how you reproduce. Set it to ring and vib, then go adjust volume to vib, then back up and then go back in and see what it is set as.
Works great! thanks!
thanks for the quick fix find, lwrdrchvy2.
Ring Vibe Fix Doesnt Work on WM 6.5 Sprint ROM
I have the same issue. My HTC Touch Pro 2 with Official 6.5 ROM will not stay on VIB for ringtones and will not VIB for SMS. I can 'check' them and then I can go back into settings and they are unchecked! This 'fix' is not working for me although it DID work for WM 6.1 on the same phone. Any help? Please! I need VIB & RING for calls and SMS!
Thanks!

Chaohliu, I see this but I'm unclear what it does?
Bengermino, did you load the cab before trying to set it in WM6.5 with the new ROM functionality? That is the impression I got when reading your post. I apologize for being 'mr obvious' but I haven't experienced this issue [with "notify me...." checked] since I flashed WM6.5 onto mine. If my impression is right, then try the following steps. If I'm wrong, don't waste time reading further down this post.
Settings
Menu
All Settings
Sounds and Notifications
Notifications
Select event I selected Messaging: New MMS, and the following steps are related to that choice.
Check 'Play Sound'
Check 'Vibrate'
Click OK in top right corner.
Good luck with resolving this!
once you uncheck that box, it seems to make ring and vibrate stick. i wouldnt bother with the cabs and stuff when this is the most effective solution. not sure why that is, but ive done it many times and it works.

Cool, thanks for the explanation!
I am quite frustrated by now and have tried all tricks on this forum(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=460368) to stop the email LED notification without any success. No matter what, the green blinking led comes up on receiving new email and would not go till I open the Email application and open an email.
Any ideas please?
have you tried this?

This is not supposed to work with TP2 I heard from everybody?
not sure never messed with notifications, but I recall reading somewhere on ppc issues w/ nueled. There are a couple other tweaks out there (this is for a tilt 2, so back up your registry because i'm not sure it will be the same).

*edit*
This might work better because mr.x and mightmike created it (specifically for CDMA tp2)

I did try the cab - Not sure if this actually works for email (I was not concerned about it then) BUT this once screws up the Vibration on Keyboard/Phone pad everything and I had to uninstall it.
I will try the first link and let you know.

I did not reset my device. I installed the cab, configured the options and then must reset the device a few times for other reasons. Not doubting the efficacy of the fix, I never tested how well the cab actually works. I then realized (after quite a bit if sweat), that it was this cab, which screwed of the vibration on display keyboard. So I uninstalled it.
Now I am hunting to get the email LED notification out. I did find those registry tweaks and applied them. Infact, as I write, the check box for led is off for email.

A lot of times registry changes won't take place until a soft reset. I have made it a habit to soft reset after installing programs or making changes to verify everything works.

Enable LED Notification Setting in Sound and Notifications [with my changes for to make it work for Touch Pro2 but it should be good for HD2 as well.]
If you want to get the addresses for HTC HD2 just click the keys up and down in the same area of the registry, and look at what is specified. Or go to the link below for the original forum where I got the info from before I made modifications to their info to make it fit for Touch Pro2]
For Touch Pro2 running on stock ROM wm6.5 for Sprint:

Phone: Missed Call
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D660-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]

“AvailableOptions”=dword: change to 15 (default is 11)
Soft reset. Go to Sounds and Notifications, and uncheck "Flash light for" for each item that you fixed above. "Flash light for" will no longer be grayed out.

Does anyone know of any registry tweaks to disable the flashing red LED notification for low battery in Touch Pro2? I tried to disable it through the "Low battery warning" flash option in Sounds and Notifications menu of wm6, but that does not work. If you want to know how to enable "Low battery warning" in Sounds and Notifications menu, here are the instructions:
1. Search for the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D663-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\.
2. Create a new String value, name it Default and set its value to Low battery warning.
3. Now move to Start -> Settings -> Personal tab -> Sounds & Notifications applet -> Notifications tab, choose Low battery warning value from the Select an event drop-down menu and set whatever you want.
