I have notices that when writing text messages the keys freeze and sometimes the letters jam on and continue to writeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee like that.
Please if anyone has a solution to this let me know.
Never seen this issue...do you have several things working in the background? Unless you were drowning the memory elsewhere, I can't think of anything except dirt or something else in the keyboard itself.
Good luck.
Thank you, for your responce.
I have checked the memory and made sure it was the only programme running and the problem still persists.
I have another quiry regarding sms's, is there any way you can increase the size of the text screen when replying? At the moment i can see the past conversations on the large portion of the screen and i only have a small area to write in.
Any advice or shall i just give up? lol
Hey, if got the same problem with my TP. I really dont know why.
I had a similar problem. I had changed wifi settings to best performance (from default of best battery). My keyboard slowed to a crawl and repeated characters. Changing the setting back to best battery cured it but it is annoying that you can't actually use the setting without messing up the keyboard.
Thanks for the advice, i have noticed the keyboard is more responsive with the WIFI off. If anyone knows a better way to solve this and keep wifi on please let me know.
Has anyone worked out a way to increase the typing space or not have the past messages on the screen while writing sms messages?

please read the wiki on rapheal to solve ur problem related to typing area size.
look under known rapheal issues. involves changing value of a registery key from 35 to 70 .. this gives u 3 lines.
I didn't need to turn wifi off entirely, the setting I changed was
Start>Settings>Connection(tab)>Wireless LAN>Power Mode(tab)>Move slider to "best battery". Other people have needed this slider in different places - dependent on ROM. Try it in all 3 positions and see how you get on. You might need to soft-reset between changes.

Hello everyone! This is my first post here!
Ive searched for this issue but I didnt find any similar problem, so Im posting here.
Imagine that i send a sms to someone. Is it normal that after sending the sms my green led changes it yellow?
Anyway, the problem is that after i send a sms to someone, it takes too long to receive a sms. However, this same problem doesnt seem to happen if i dont send a sms - it seems that there is a relation between the yellow led and the time it takes to receive a sms (I dont know if I made myself clear...).
The second and also troublesome problem is related to the input methods. My touch and numeric keyboards dont type letters; instead, they insert the symbols each key corresponds to (numbers or symbols)... this is what happens if u touch for a certain ammount of time. But, for me, this happens with the most slight touch...
Help me please

Did you installed any other keyboard to polaris? I've installed pcm keyboard and i had the exactly same problem :S Since i uninstalled it, the problem gone
Yes, I installed PCm keyboard. However, i uninstalled it and it didnt solve my problem But i think thats the main cause.... maybe i need to delete some stuff of the pcm in the reg?
EDIT: hey! it actually did solve! i had to soft reset hehe
Now, for the other problem, can any1 help me?
Hmm... I actually found out that the yellow led is activated when I send the sms and inactivates when i receive a sms and there is no delay in receiving the sms.
Does anyone know why this happens?ยป
I'd like to disable the phone from waking up when i get a text message... If i get one while the phone is in my pocket, the act of pulling it out keeps on resizing my text for some reason...
I have diamond tweak and the "wake on sms" is disabled, but it still does it... I've tried enabling it and disabling it again to no avail...
Anyone have any suggestions?
I have advanced config, diamond tweak, and total commander if any can get the job done.
Run phoneAlarm - which controls phone profiles and many other aspects of how your phone operates. It has an option to keep the phone from waking up on SMS.
The re-sizing may come from your touching around the D-Pad as you pull the phone from your pocket. That's what I was doing an it had me totally baffled for about a week - until I accidentally discovered that you could change the font size by running your finger around the action button.
Hrmm... phoneAlarm looks like it's a huge hastle to put in and i rather like the touch flo... wouldn't want to disable it to put in something else for this one feature I'm looking for...
I'm just miffed though... The registry key:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent
is already set to 1... it should be disabled... but it still wakes up...
can anyone tell me why?... I DO have the sprint (cdma) version if that makes any difference but i don't think they would have jacked with sms wakeup...
bump... anyone know how to help with this?...
it's driving me nuts trying to figure out why it's not working as intended...
i also tried different things to not wakeup the phone on sms but nothing worked.
does anyone have a solution???
I have turned it on and off several times to see if I could replicate your issue and I cannot. There is an issue with your phone disregarding that Diamond tweak setting. There are a few things I would look at, are you running the stock ROM or did you flash one? What applications have you loaded on the phone one might be conflicting or overriding that setting. If I just could not figure out what could be causing this issue I would hard reset and before I load anything I would test to see if it works or not.

I've searched and can't apparently think of the right combination of words to describe this wonky behavior that is driving me out of my fricking mind.
Here's the issue - someone texts me, I hit the envelope, it starts to open it up, then I switch right away to the keyboard to actually coherently type a response and without fail the keyboard registers the first few letters in the text message and then goes right into trying to match an autocomplete match in the phonebook and kicks out of the text message completely.
The only way to stop this behavior is to sit there like a retard waiting patiently for the phone to reorient itself after opening the keyboard and then give it a few extra seconds just to be safe.
I could kill a midget I'm so fed up with this.
Ideas?
I am having the same problem. Running stock ROM with HTC Black TouchFlo 3D theme. Any advice would be appreciated.
I KNOW others have this issue - come on someone has to know a fix . . ..
Pretty please with a cherry on top?

I finally flashed a new ROM (EnergyROM Mercury). The problem is gone. I know it is not a fix, but it is a resolution. It was very frustrating. Good luck.
I have a problem hopefully someone can help me. When I am typing in my resposes using the xt9, sometimes the space where I see the words that I choose being typed in goes away and I cant see what I am writing, I have to click on the space again where my response goes to see how my response looks like. Is that happening to anyone else? maybe its a glitch that someone fixed already?
You are notthe only one to have this problem and according to HTC they had no idea this was a problem. it is mostly due to the number of messages in your in box. The only thing to really do is empty your box regularly and you will not notice it as much. call them and let them know
I didn't want to crowd the slimbean thread with my noobish questions, so I thought I'd ask here. Any help is greatly appreciated.
1- When texting someone, I don't see the little mic on the keyboard so I can speech to text. Any way to get it back?
2- I really enjoyed the TW(?) Contacts way of doing things in GB, like swipe left to text, swipe right to call. Is that possible in 4.2?
3- It seems the touch sensitivity is good, but I'd like a bit more, as I have to sometimes touch somethings 2 or 3 times to open it. Is there a way to increase sensitivity?
4- Is there a task manager of some sort to end processes? Someone told me to long press the home button then clear the screen to do this. But if say I have Pandora playing and long press home/clear, it still keeps playing. Leading me to believe it doesn't really stop app/processes. Any ideas?
5- When receiving texts when phone is idle, there is only a tone alert, but when turning on the screen, there is no obvious (visual) indicator that I have a text to read. I have to pull down from the top to see it. Any way of getting a more visual indicator? (Like the puzzle piece)
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about JB, but the way GB did some things was really good and I wish they could have kept some things the same. Is there any way I can get these features back?
If you don't know all of the answers, that's OK. Any and all help will be much appreciated.
Thanks for all the help guys. I've decided to go back to GB. It just works 100%. Sure, JB is pretty cool and I appreciate all of the hard work that goes into it. But it just didn't feel "finished" for lack of a better word. Camera didn't work right, no HDMI, no mic on keyboard, touch screen not as responsive, slightly glitchy, among other things.
Good luck to the devs, and keep up the good work. It's just not for me. When GB is no longer supported by app devs, I'll just get a new phone. Take care guys and gals.
