I have some of the black electricians tape left that I used to cover it over. PM me when you need it

What reason do you have to think it would n 't?
Diamond is Diamond and the connections are all the same.

Probably because I've already ordered a "Diamond Cradle" from one online company (Daydeal) and had to return it because the USB connector was
1) in the opposite direction and
2) located about 2.5 cm closer to the backplate
Daydeal has since revised that particular listing as GSM.
That's why.

i have the PDAir Aluminium case, and boy it has saved me from some damage. Though, when i used the leather pouch i was unfortunate enough to drop it and now have 3 nice dents in the bottom of it

Group Buy on replacement case?

Anyone know where we can find a seller of replacement cases for the tornado. (I have the non-m version). Now that I have a great looking WM6 build on the phone deserves a refresh on its very worn case.

US. (I should have added my location to my profile before now.) So a trip to HTC centre would be more than the phone. What is HTC Centre like?
It's just a service centre, nothing much.

Do they sell replacement cases? Mine is an iMate branded gray SP5, but I am not that particular. I would pay extra for a black one.
I have the tools to install it. I just can't buy one here.
They do sell, the last time I asked, but they have to fix it for you, and HTC is giving after sales service to Dopod in malaysia, not sure if they would fix SP5. And they have to include their service charge for you. Just so you know, they quoted me the price for the casing, in 3 diferent parts, if im not mistaken, its the battery cover, front casing, and the bezel. Total with the workmanship is around RM200, which is around 200/3.5 USD. Not worth it
i got replacement cases for qtek 8300 & 8310 (sp5 & sp5m) via ebay.

Dear kkrull,
Sorry, we have no housing\covers for the iMate SP5.
- wiwaycn
Here is one. Cheapest one I've ever seen on eBay.
I would like a new housing for my T-Mobile SDA, but my keypad is also scratched up and nobody sells the keypad. Not much point to replace the housing if the keypad looks like crap.
Actually, I think the SP5 housing looks nicer and I wouldn't mind to switch, but not only would I need the keypad but also the button PCB behind it and I can't find anyone selling those.
I would even be happy if I could find some spray paint that exactly matches, but I can't find that either.

But the SDA and the Tornado are different phones right? I don't think this would fit on my Tornado/SP5.
My old case said 'Qtek' But now it's T-mobile SDA (this is the sp5m). The cases were identical, except for the letters. I completely wrecked my sp5 though. The tools were included in the package. Got it from Hong Kong. I'll try to find a link

The one I linked to is for the SP5, the black and silver 2-tone housing.
The USA SDA is a Tornado. It's the same as SP5m, but has an antenna hump.

I wish it were. Mouse over the link and you can see that it says "genuine tmobile sda htc sonata" and the pictures on that sale clearly show the rounded cover of the Sonata so unless the parts for the Sonata and the Tornado are interchangable this housing will not work.

If this case is also sutiable for HTC P5500 (Kaiser), then it would be way too big for HTC Diamond. Are you sure that you gto yourself a right product?
If you after aftermarket case, then you would be better of case for HTC StarTrek. Perfect fit.
you can pick one of those for 2-3 dollars on eBay. here is an example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/For-HTC-3125-8500-Smartflip-Slim-Phone-Skin-Case-Pouch_W0QQitemZ160254367860
any qtek 8500, imate smartflip, T-Mo 3125 compatible pouch should fit right the Diamond. There are heaps of them on Ebay.
I also have it. It fits, but the case is to big for the diamond.

I am using this case (PO-S322) it is not the same as the one for the caiser,I think it is made for the Touch Dual and it does fit very well as if it is made for the device since the dimensions of the Diamond and the Touch are similar.
Yes indeed, it fits good. im using it for like 3 weeks now and im very pleased with it, i also have my diamond in a crystal case and then put in the S322

Where to buy a 'non-diamond' Diamond Backside

I'm starting to hate the faceted design of the Diamond backside.
Can anyone point me in the direction if getting a standard flat one? I
I'd like to know if this fits the Diamond. The front of the XDA is the Diamond so can't see why it won't fit???
The XDA has rounded corners, so it might not fit. It would be great if it did, though.
I also hate the faceted back. So I sand-papered mine down and then polished it with Plastic Scratch Remover. Started with 180-grain, then 600. I would have used 1200 before polish, but I was out. Now the back of my Diamond got a half-matte finish and it rests steady and flat on a table. Plus, I could fit a thin metal plate for use with my magnetic cell-phoneholder in my car. Though, I can't say it's as pretty as it once was anymore!

I can't find a flat back anywhere. None that look right anyway.
Isn't the o2 XDA the same as the diamond with different back? not the HTC Victor?

If you actually look at the Diamond, there is more designed than just the backside: the stylus and internal edges that go under each corner. In other words, it need a Diamond cover. Though it could still be flat of course. I look forward to a 3rd party flat, rough cover (a millimeter thicker with space a 1200+mah battery wouldnt hurt).

I know, but I couldn't wait. I needed to get it working with my car mount ASAP. I'm thinking that in a few months time you can get flat back-covers with replacements batteries with higher capacities quite cheap anyway, so I can replace the one I made ugly by then.
Besides, I bought my Diamond used and really cheap (1/2 retail) because of an already scratched back cover with baby teeth marks(!), so...
may i suggest you go into a phone shop and fob the virginal salesman off with a "just looking story " then try the back off an xda one. I have the mda compact (tmobs ) version which is lovely and flat and rounded so ill try it on me mates diamond on thursday to see if it fits if you want me too!

Good idea mate try it out and feedback if it works please
believe me, the XDA cover does not fit to the HTC back!
sad but true.
I really don't understand why the XDA Ignito back wouldn't fit to the HTC version i.e. the Diamond??? Its exactly the same phone!
In the case of the T-Mobile Compact IV, then there is NO WAY that the backs are interchangeable as its a DIFFERENT phone (specs might be the same but its a HTC Victor, NOT a Diamond).

But does it have the same internal design where the electronics meet the backside? That's the question. The "designed" backside is NOT just slapped on top a "generic" phone: the internals of the back of the phone is formed with the plastic backside.
I mean there is no doubt that 3rd party could produce a compatible back of any shape and design as long as it match this, but you cant just slap a totally different back on it that doesnt match the Diamond itself, even if it looks similar on the outside.
Why wouldn't it be the same internal design? After all, the front internal design must be the same to fit into the same front cover. Why make the manufacturing process harder? By this I mean, for the Diamond there is one internal style and for the Victor(Compact IV) there is another internal style. It would not make sense to introduce a third style for the XDA Ignito that is a combination of the 2.
I have a telus diamond and the back cover looks just like the the one here. http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=172103

Interesting!...although 25 pounds for a cover is a bit of ripoff....
Does it use the same stylus as the normal diamond one?

Obviously, but is the *back* design the same (ie the design without the back cover)?
From the looks of the cover on the Expansys link, its not. There's no way that would fit a Diamond with the "real" Diamond back. The angles of the bottom area where the USB port resides is a dead giveaway: it doesnt match.
Here is a review of the O2 Ignito, it seems to be same as Diamond (P3700): http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/4wm-reviews-hardware/17424-review-o2-xda-ignito.html
The back is pricey, but so are the spare parts always.

The phone may be the same, but the back design is yet again different. The sides on my Diamond (HTC branded, Diamond back) have far greater angles on the bottom plate. Meaning, a back cover such as the 02 would leave two huge gaps on the side (same angles at the top so it would be hard to even get it to attach).
And that is what will make it fail. The corners arent at the same angles.
This is the O2 back internals:

This is the Diamond back internals:
http://www.mobileburn.com/imagepop...._diamond/thumb_htc_touch_diamond-img_8426.jpg
CASES WONT MATCH PEOPLE!!! Close, but not the same.
Has anyone tried yet putting a XDA Ignito back cover on an HTC Diamond?

It was easier to just ask it here before buying it. Everybody could tell you that it wouldn't fit. Although the hardware specifications are the same, the model is totally different.

I believe he was talking about a back cover (housing) not a rubber cover.
Yes, obviously all cases will fit as it's got the same look but the back cover is completely different.

Make your own self-contained 'Kick Stand' case

I modified a gel type case to contain a self contained kick stand for the HTC HD2 but figured it could be applied to any case that fits a large touchscreen phone (even iphone).
Have a look at the link below for more info and photos. It might be something you want to do for your phone too
