Diagnostic software used by HTC service center in Micro SD - HTC Vox

Hi
Is there any possibility to get Diagnostic software used by HTC service center in Micro SD card. With this one can enter Diagnostic mode and make so many hardware test and assure that hardware is OK or not. If problems are due to hardwares or due to ROMS. This way all chefs can also test there ROM in perfect way.
Thanks

It is mentioned in the service manual, unforunately only the service centers have it.

I downloaded the BREADIAD.NBH and created a gold card. But it did not work. When I turn on the G1 into diagnostic mode, it only say "SD init OK". No list shows. Anyone knows what's wrong ?

What makes you assume that the nbh you have downloaded is related to some "Service SD Card"? I think this should not be the case because:
it is an NBH file: So this indicates that it should be flashed to the device. I would not expect an own image to be needed for device testing. You would have to remove that image after testing and/or reflash the original ROM.
the name BREADIAD.NBH indicates that this is not for the VOX but another device (you are in the VOX forum here)
The diagnostic SW for the HW part (and only this is part of that SD card) runs after the SPL and has no relation to the operating system (which would load instead).
Where did you download that?

upgrade without usb

Hi,
After a mounth of problem caused by my mini-usb connector, I weld it this morning. But, I cannot sync it by usb anymore. I have to sync it by bluetooth. Anyway do you think there is a possibility to upgrade it with an SD card or another solution?
I thank you.
Hi,
My first thoughts would be..
"how am I going to charge the battery",
pointless pursuing an upgrade in the circumstances?!
STI
I don't see charging being an issue, as he may very well have power even if not data running on his connector, and even if that's not the case, there's plenty standalone battery chargers on ebay. Not the perfect scenario, but grab a second battery if you don't already own one and it's suddenly way better than tossing you uni.
About the SD card ROM loading...
I've seen a few posts on it, but I reckon the SD image is always created by dumping the current loaded ROM.
So, I imagine you'll need someone else so make you an SD image of the ROM you need/want.
As for the actual dumping of the OS, I never did it, so I can't really help you there.
It's not about the uni, but here's this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=899768&postcount=8
Still, as I told you, I believe you'll need a third party to supply you with the ROM dump, and even then, be damn careful that you both have the some devices (i.e. both G3 or both G4) as it probably matters.
Take this as a hint in (what I believe is) the right direction. By no means I can guarantee that this is the only way to go about it.
Best of luck!
I have the same problem with my HTC prophet device...since i upgraded to wm6 , problem came when I activated Wm5torage
I can still charge it with my usb cable but nothing more...I`m looking to download an SD image backup from somebody
If somebody can help ...
I have the same problem, having replaced the socket it also just now charges and shows in windows as an unknown port. I have checked all the connection on the PDA motherboard and everything appears OK when measured with a meter. As windows recognises that there is a port there, it seems likely that the clock and data are available. If this is the case, it should be recognised. I can only assume that somehow the OS has become corrupt. This seems to be quite a common thing, and it would be nice if someone could throw some light on why this happens.
If the clock and data are available, meaning that the two computers can communicate, you should be able to reflash the device, since Bootloader mode circumvents the OS, and the RUU has it's own drivers for communicating with the device, evidenced by the fact that it shuts down ActiveSync to avoid interference.
Try putting the device into bootloader, then initiating a flash. If there's something, anything, wrong with the dataport, the RUU will be unable to flash. If the ROM Upload starts, the it will probably finish too without a hitch. And you'll have a new working Uni.
Also, it is not possible to flash via SD card, since the SD port can only be used with the appropirate drivers loaded, and that's done by the OS. Flashing is done while in bootloader mode, which circumvents all of the OS, and uses a separately stored on board program to access the main ROM, screen and dataport.
It is possible to flash a new Rom via the SD Card.
It does however require another device to dump the image onto the SD Card first.
Search the forum and you will find specific details on the procedure.
I believe Midget made a post about the process not so long ago.
Also could all peeps please keep these sort of issues in the upgrading section, you are more likely to get better answers there.
This forum is meant to be purely for WM6 on the Universal.
Cheers,
Beasty
Yep, here is:

Whoops sorry am getting a little off topic here. Anyway boot load will not work so port is probably faulty. Got a version of WM6 on it anyway, so will use as is.

FujitsuSiemens N560 EDA Camera?!

hi ppl!
i got my PDA about 3 weeks ago and, except for a few issues, i'm absolutely happy with it....
it's a rugged FujitsuSiemens N560 - and it's got a 1.3 MP camera...
problem is, i don't have any software to take pictures with
in fact, i don't even know if the camera works yet... i read something about integrated camera software in windows mobile, but i'm guessing that's only true for the smartphone edition, since i don't have anything like that on my PDA...
i'm currently using the english Pups.777_Team WM6 rom v0.0.4, but i didn't see any camera software on my original WM5 rom either...
also, none of the camera related applications i've tried have been able to get anything at all from my camera, although i did install a camera driver which came with the pda on the SD card.
CoolCamera seems to be for phone edition only, since it won't start on my pda...
i'm also getting a "Unidentified USB device" prompt at EVERY boot / soft reset, doesn't matter if the cradle's connected or not... no idea what this could be... all of the pda's components are accounted for and working fine, except for the camera (which i already installed drivers for)...
and before i installed the camera driver i got the unidientified device prompt not only at every boot, but also at every wake up from suspend mode... which gives me the impression that the driver is working fine.
and... that's about it ;D
any suggestions? thanks for reading this
LOOX EDA
hi, I have the same FSC EDA with the same problems.
Mine is now running the standard Wm5 ,after doing a Hard reset, as advised in the manual to restore to original factory condition I lost all the camera functions and Redhalo software, included the camera driver,drawing/painting and animation software. I guess they forgot to mention that!
I also get the Unknown usb device, which I think is the missing camera driver. When I got mine it didn't come with an SD card or other software , just an Acivesync cd.
I thought that all the software was in ROM but it looks like only the basic WM5 was and a hard reset wiped the rest!
I can't find any software on the web to restore it as yet.
If you have a original SD card I would be grateful for a copy.
Hello Tino
I have had the same unrecognised USB problem. Drove me mad. I have fixed it using an original sd card I managed to track down. I did a factory reset them tapped on the file autorun.bat located in the folder 2577 on the sd card. Doing this restored RedHalo, removed the USB error & the camera works fine. There is also some backup sofware on the card. If you like I can zip the files and email them to you.
Sorry to bump an old thread - but I have exactly the same issue, annoying!
Would love an original copy of the SD

Hi Smiggers, any chance you could email me a copy of these sd card files to get my camera up and running on my N560? Would be very much appreciated if you can help.
My email is [email protected].

Does Garmin Mobile XT SD card work on Diamond

I have found many people that say their GMXT works on Diamond but I am not sure if they are using the DVD version or the SD card version. Obviously you would need to do something to get it off ot the SD card but are any of you doing this and if so what do you have to do?
Thanks DHATW.
I quess this is really a software question (was thinking bluetooth=accessory). I will repost in software.
Yes it works, but you have to push the SD-cart really hard to get it in
... but seriously i'm pretty sure, have some downloaded stuff which orginates from a card and its working fine
Thanks, but how do you do it? Garmin says you can't do it. I know it has been done but am looking for the how.
Dude you can download it. But its not free. Although there are always ways. I have it running on mine just fine.
You can download directly from garmin:
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downloadsUpdates.jsp?product=010-11034-00&cID=138&pID=11413
But you need license key to activate to use with internal GPS.
Okay maybe I'm misunderstanding something. I have the SD card version running on my HTC Touch right now. I spoke to Garmin and they told me they do not have a solution for the Diamond about a month ago. I have already downloaded 5.00.20 for my Touch. When you do it looks for the SD card on the phone. I am not looking for free software. I just want to know how I can run the existing solution (SD card or purchase DVD) on my next phone (my wife has already let me know I am getting one for Christmas-that's if Rogers ever gets it) the Diamond. I realize there are always ways but I am not one of those guys that believes everything should be free. I just want a reliable, updateable and Garmin supportable version that works.
I know CoPilot 7 has a North American version that is made for the Diamond but I have been a Garmin fan for a long time.
Thanks, DHATW.
works for me
hi
i found a totourial i the net, bought garmin xt for win mobile, and i works
you have to conenct your diamond as external harddisc --> you could install gamin XT
after installation i copyied all files from the SD-card to the storage on diamond
at last you have to generate keys for the internal gps-receiver (and overwrite SWL.UNL and for the serial of the internal storage of your phone
if you look a littel bit around you will find a helpful tool from jet mouse...
andreas
Quite easy
I bought a Diamond Touch with the Garmin XT software. ( And unlock code)
The previous owner hard reset the phone to wipe out his entries,
All I did was sync the phone, copy all the files from the SD card into the expanded memory of the phone, and opened the install software from thre phone.
You have to enter the unlock key and the device then connects and sends a SMS to confirm sucessfull installation. (Or something like that)
Hey, I am no genius, but I worked it out, as I knew the program was installed before.
Thanks Basilrsa, I will try that when I get my Diamond. Maybe all the other instructions were for people that did not have a "legal" copy of GMXT.
Thank you again.
I'm trying to install Garmin Mobile XT by copying the files from the SD card to my internal storage, the phone recognises it and installs and runs it OK.
The problem I have is that the internal GPS is not detected and it just keeps searching bluetooth then attached gps constantly (the progress bar on attached GPS goes about half way and the bluetooth only goes quarter way so I think it is partially detecting).
It is a legal boxed SD card from Garmin that worked on the Touch Cruise and I just want to transfer to this phone. I don't want to run any Keygen exe's on my computer, has anyone found another way of getting the internal GPS to be detected?
I did try it in a good reception area and verified this using CameraAware.
hi
afaik garmin uses two files for licensing:
one with a key for the sd card and one for gps receiver
both were generated on a hardware serial of card and receiver
--> i think there is no way to get garmin working without using new license files
greetings
dopsi
Hi
I am not too sure if you can reinstall the Garmin XT software on another device.
The licence is for installation on a single device. When you register it looks for this device identification.
Maybe if you are trying to install on a different device, it will not release to software to operate.
I think you may have to contact Garmin and discuss it with them.
But, XT does install on the Diamond - mine works fine!
But hey, you had better get a car charger as it sucks the battery dry in no time.

I'll try to get another Activation code from Garmin and hope they don't ask what device it is. I'll post here once I have done and let you know what they said or if it works.

It looks like the GPS receiver costs £67 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000TSJV58/incomp-1-130534-21/ref=nosim) but I wouldn't buy it anyway as I bought a phone with in-built GPS so I didn't have to carry 2 devices.
I think it's safe to say Garmin will not be getting any more money from me and I'd rather buy something else. I just wish tomtom would release a diamond version 7 in UK. I've heard bad reports about CoPilot so don't really want to spend the money on that to find it is bad.
Garmin XT. - Garmin's comments.
Hi Kevlah,
" So, what we do here is when we load the data to the preloaded

I cannot agreed with the above statement as I transferred all the files to my Diamond's ext memory and opened the installation program from there.
I am not sure now which file I used but I had to try a few.
I had to enter the supplied unlock code and later a SMS was sent with the GPS unlock code. I did not have to enter that.
Then, it worked!
But as I said in my post it was a reinstallation on my phone.

Should a valid simcard be inserted in the device ?
no, you dont have to insert a valid simcard...just tried it out
It did not work on my phone, but I think that this device is definitely dead...
I doesn't matter too much as I bought it to for pieces...
vox hangs at wm6 screen. soft reset fails. extract contacts before hard reset?
yes, i would love to get my htc vox back by hard resetting (flashing the rom), but my contacts are not backed up (yes groan, but ...* see bottom if you care/have time...) So, i want to transfer the contacts data out of my vox, without wm6. go on, mission impossible was a great flick, we all want to be tom cruise (except I'm not sure about the scientology stuff..)!
1. is it possible to go to the (green blue red screen) SPL stage (i.e. hold camera button press power on) and then via the laptop send commands to the vox to copy data from the built-in memory to the storage card?
my parallel is that a PC has a simple operating system 'ms-dos' which can be used to obtain data and get the computer back online if windows fails. This requires programming in the lowest level (os) language of vox, I understand it uses an ARM chip (http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wt...lateId=6123&navigationId=12000&contentId=4679). ARM/HTC websites refer to having 'windows embedded CE 6.0' but since my vox's bootloader does not finish loading wm6, I guess wm6 never gets fully installed into RAM so is not usable in this case. so...
2. has anyone tried this before? Anyone know a link to the command list for the vox's operating system? Any tips/corrections to the above?
Other relevant points, required for this solution to work:
3. what is the name (and do i also need the memory location?) of the data file containing the outlook contacts data?
4. does the HTC RUU ROM update actually install all the standard issue software, as well as WM6, including the ability to save Outlook contacts? link to software pack?
Thanks in advance..
(* - I dont have outlook on my laptop and was not aware until after the event that a work-around exists, yes my vox froze once before and when i checked that work-around was not developed.. (last time a soft reset removing the SIM and storage card did the trick. no such luck this time.))

Really old phone, trying to get pictures off for someone

Ok, so I have someone's Kyocera Kona S2151 flip phone. Now when I plug it into my pc in device manager there shows two "modems" and a serial port without a driver. Even after installing the specific driver for this phone from the Kyocera website it still says there is no driver. I tried to manually select the driver from the folder that was created during the install, not a single one of the 6 worked. Now all of this might even be a moot point as I don't even know if this device will allow me to pull the pictures off of it using a USB cable attached to a pc and everything on the web says I should be able to but there's also a Kona android smart version. I also can't find anything that says I can't either lol. Now I would Bluetooth but there are no options for sending photos via Bluetooth and whats worse is the antennae for the cell service is going out so it won't stay connected to the tower (I assume its the antennae, I'm not gonna try and fix something this old, also its sprint which just got absorbed by Tmobile which could also be the issue bc its pre sim card).
So, in summary, I am trying to retrieve the photos. You can't Bluetooth them, there's no SD card slot, I can't text or email them due to lack of wifi and cell service issues, Which leads to the only option left, PC USB transfer but I can't get that working either due to what I am hoping is simply driver issues. If I need to use an older Operating system that's fine I have another pc here I can mess with to my heart's desire.
I know this isn't android, rooting, modding, custom os, related but this forum is home to some of the smartest people, it's where I come to get all my instructions and files for phones. if anyone could help I'm hoping it's the community here.

It seems that now the only way is to have the driver work and then use PC USB transfer. In addition to the driver from the Kyocera website, have you tried the Google Android USB Driver for Windows? It's available on the Android Developer website. Have a try. Good luck to you.
