HI. I´d love to have the s730 HTC home screen on my Vox. Does anybody know where could I get it?

We have tried to use the extracted files posted here earlier but it seems there is bunch of stuff missing...

I've been able to use HTC homescreen on my vox but I can't get some things to work like the favorite people application and the weather part... In fact only the clock works
Unfortunately I don't have time to look further into it, but it shouldn't be too difficult for the geniuses out there

wont spb mobile shell give a similar home screen?

Isn't it only for pocket pcs ?

Found in this Forum under HTC Tornado. Works fine on my VOX. Be sure to install to the device!!! when you install it to SD Card Phone crashes at boot.

Edit: Seems the phone sometimes crashes when you insert the sd card. without sd card it boots fine... Maybe someone knows why and can fix this error...
Before downloading you have to notice that this cab can cause a crash and you have to hard reset the phone.

Gah. A hard reset is now needed all because of that cab above this post.
Total crash, stuck in reboot cycle.

Update: Seems that the cab did something to the phone's MicroSD support. Or something. I can boot the phone without having the storage card inserted. Any idea what may have been changed? I'm guessing something in the registry, but not sure really.

Same problem to me schlinkey. But i can boot without sd card and insert it when booted. I added a notice above about the problem. Sorry that you had to hardreset your phone.
Did the Plugin worked for you when you boot without sd card?
I can take some screens of my phone (Vox) with HTC Plugin tommorow if wanted.

It's alright, a hardreset now and then keeps the phone running smoothly
When I managed to boot the phone (without having the SD inserted) I uninstalled the plugin. The error remained however, so ended up with a hardreset anyway
All working again now!

Got it installed on my Vox now, currently uninstalling look alike themes and stuff that I no longer use to free up space on my phone now. Thanks for getting the New HTC Theme to work on the Vox. Just ned to get weather plugin working now. I've also got an annoying problem where my Vox with my T-Mobile Sim in says that I am Roming and the carrier plugin says thatI am connected to T-Mobile UK. I'm in the UK and using a T-Mobile UK Sim.

No problem with the Home screen, but I have had the reboot problem with the SD card for ages.
I did manage to get it to boot with the SD card in by doing various things.
When I first had the problem switching to flight mode before a reboot fixed the problem. The after installing some software it would only reboot with the SD card in if I first ran SK tools to clear duplicates in the notification list and selected a home screen which did not access the SD card (including the MRU list) such as "Windows Simple".
When I installed the Office 6.1 update the problem appeard to go away.
Then I installed Facade and so far have not managed to get it to boot with the SD card inserted.
I guess I could uninstall Facade - but I want to use it.
A Hard Reset is too drastic and I don't want to try that - easier to remove the SD card than to spend all day re-installing everything on my phone - no gurantee it will work anyway.
I suspect its a problem with the SD card driver as I have read that later ROM versions fixed the problem.

I thought about that - not tried it - I assume it would back up all the registry settings along with the files.
But if I do a restore, I assume it would be back as it was before the hard reset, including the cause of any problem.
Although I suppose it might allow for some experimentation, with the ability to put things back to how they were before any changes were made.
Can someone who has used it give some comments on how useful sprite would be in these circumstances.

Hi all! Has anyone experienced the "My People" application stopping working after a while? After I installed it, it worked shortly, but now when I try to open it, the list flashes quickly, then disappears. This is from both the Home screen, and through the Start Menu. This has happened both times I've installed it. Any ideas?

and how quick is you home screen with that smart toolkit and 3d menu ? bacause i got it before and it`s really slow !! I love this HTC 730 homeS .

those are all files wichout 3D menu and work good lake wihout "tuning"
but keylock need lock from pres key profiles/off display and select keylock if u use difrend keys to keylock or methods 3D menu god/off and need run again its bug affter instal smatoolkid ;/

in general first are all disable wihout run on startup and show's txt... and second row its disable then smartoolkit wen pres home button show and hide

Help my camera isn't starting anymore!

I'd tryied to hold camera button and from programs menu but both wont work. What can I do? Please can someone help me out?

First off try a soft reset, poke the stylus in the reset hole for a second or two, you won't loose any information or applications trying this, switch the unit back on and try again from the hardware button and/ or the Start/ Programs/ Camera icon
If the above didn't fix it try a hard reset, this will wipe the device back to the same configuration it was when you got it - you WILL LOOSE data doing this - Mike

This is NOT possible if you hardreset. Hardreset again and try. If it still doesnt work, your unit is most probably defective and you'll have to exchange/send in for repair it.
Just to be sure: You use the erase memory tool in the control panel and had to enter "1234" and then click yes, right?

I have itself problem, the reset (soft) don't resolve. Sometimes the camera starting, but frequently NO.

Looking at the camera launching process, I've found a link like:

any idea if that is normal content, looks curious for a link especially the interrogation point mark?
What about the -1106 figure ?
Is it possible that this link being corrupted ?
If yes how to modifiy it, seems a ROM file

sometimes cam will work but it to often will not. :/
sure ift the cam even dont in factory default config (hard reset) it is broken.
I got longest working duration in factory default, approx one to two weeks.
using third party binaries the failure appears randomly.
Im pretty sure this is a software issue, else a soft rest wont fix it, eh ?!
workaround:
one but very poor solution is, once the cam starts, _never_ quit it, just minimize.

I have got no news about cam.
I called htc support, they told me to install a fix for camera that I found in htc e-club.
But that fix is not for our problems, is for camera quality.
I installed it but the problem still remain.
Sometimes it goes, sometimes no...

A solution is to take the pda off without the battery for some minutes...
After that the cam works...
But for also some time... then It goes down again...

I've been having the same problems with the camera.
"Camera" doesn't appear in Programs but "Camera album" does.
When i use file explorer to go to the .exe file and i tap it, nothing happens.
EDIT: i've just used file explorer to go to the windows directory en what do I see: now i have two camera executables (but not one of them reacts)
In file explorer i see this:

i´ve got this Problem nearly three weeks. I´ve installed a new rom and Nadavi camera. Nothing turn the Camera Problem. Sometimes it works sometimes not. I´ve got the idea that the Software that is installed on the device cause the Problem. When i want to send a mms from the camera the camera strikes after that. When i used Mobile Navigator 5.0 the Camera strike again.
I don´t have an exactly answer for the Problem but i´m pissed of!!!! HTC can´t help already

I've got my prophet G4 for may be 3 years, but I just stepped into Custom ROM world for a few days. I've done the hardSPL and upgrade my phone to WM6, using the first version of this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374155 Thanks to varanusvincent for creating this ROM
I've got some problems with my prophet and finding ways to fix them:
1. My camera, If I set it to save pictures to main memory, everything is fine. But when I set it to save pictures to my SD AData 1gb, when I take pics, the camera shows the previews as normal, but if I press power button to set my phone to sleep mode, and turn on again, the picture in the preview is gone and isn't saved into my SD. I lost heaps of good fotos just because it is my habit to turn off the phone by using that power button.
I tried to use the HTC Camera 4.11 (ELF/HTC Touch) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314798 Seems like the problems has been fixed but I just dont want to use that software due to some battery problems...
Changing another SD card can't help.
So is there any way to solve my camera issue ?
*Note: It's not a ROM's bug coz I tried with 4 difference ROMs but the problem still there.
2. The Vista ROM I'm using may be has a bug in the SMS system. It doesn't get and save the SMS centre mobile number. I always have to do it handly whenever I restart my phone. And seems like the Wifi has some connection problems, too. It hardly connects to my network and sometime suddenly disconnect its self.
I'm using Vodafone New Zealand.
By the way, any suggestion for the best Vista touched ROM ?

I tried to reset by pressing the reset whole.

[solved kind of] wm6.1 advanced network fails to connect. mass storage still works

Solution was a hard reset once i found out how to do it. it was in the the menus. setting>system>clear storage
Okay so I cannot track down when the problem actually started to occur but I know that the phone worked with the advanced networking and now it doesn't. I know that the usbtopc options in the setting>connections menu is gone. I searched the phone for the file usbtopc.exe and it was not present in \windows\ so I thought I had somehow deleted usbtopc.exe so I installed some updated version i found here trying to get it to work. they were
irus USB to PC.cab
Touch-IT Mass Storage.cab
HTCUSBToPCPopUp_2_0_18172128_1.WWE.cab
none of those fixed the problem but one of those added usbtopc.exe back to the \windows directory. I then tried to use a registry backup I have from before the problem started thinking the links to the \windows\usbtopc.exe would be restored but that didnt restore the options under settings>connections.
So I sit now searching and after a few hours I thought its time to ask for help. I would so I a hard reset. I would be my first so it scares me to do that but I dont know how for this phone. I am assuming that a hard reset go completely back to factory and I dont need the rom of any files to do that job just find the right button combo and what and the phone will go back to factory is my assumption. hard reset is kind of overkill though, the phone functions on its own with no problems I just cant use activesync
so by now your wondering what the phone is... its embarrassing.
Its a chinese phone with WM6.1 called a C900 It is an iphone lookalike

[HELP] Can't do anything with SOD.

I'm going through this problem for almost 4 weeks, just when I was away of a computer by 1 mile..
I was getting problems to connect to internet with my PDA, and nothing worked.
Then some apps stopped working (like Messenger, Internet Explorer, and such included apps) and I decided to format my phone by using the HardSPL method. Installed everything again, and then everything was working fine.
After a few days, the buttons stopped working: Couldn't answer calls, or use D-Pad, couldn't get off standby mode and so on. Every time I needed to use my phone, I got to hardreset the PDA, wait it to power on, and use it. It was VERY annoying. So, formatted again and installed a new ROM. Everything worked fine and after a few days, again.. Couldn't get off standby mode.
I read somewhere that it happens when the SD card becomes faulty. It was. I formatted the SD and copied all the contents again. Formatted again the phone, and installed everything again. After a few minutes (yes, minutes), the phone wasn't responding again. I got to plug the headphones and press the HF key and sometimes it got back from standby.
When phone is kind of.. "null", I can't receive calls. SMS are rejected. But the power, Bluetooth and Wifi light keeps blinking as it was active.
I'm using a temporary phone right now. I can't handle it anymore. But I miss my PDA :S
A bit more info: I'm using Spanish NiAX WM6.5.3 ROM. And first ROM was Spanish NiAX WM6.5.1. Maybe it's a ROM fault. I don't know :S

The problem is my Polaris has a couple bad blocks on its NAND.
In traditional english: The support of the OS (AKA Windows Mobile, or Android, for example) is damaged, so in certain points the data written becomes inaccessible or has trash data. That's the reason the phone doesn't wake up.
I can happen too if you have a faulty SDCard. The point is: Some data couldn't be read.
Currently I'm researching about how to live with this. There's nothing to do with Windows Mobile as far as I know, but we can make it work by using some custom set-up of Android.
I'll let you all know if I get some news, or see HERE where I'll post everything I find

That could be your problem(corrupted files) Check for viruses too(Not too careful)

I think that can't be the problem, since I formatted the SD card and put all the fresh content again (music an cabs from my home PC).
I found out that a new fresh installed rom works fine, until I install any cab.
The cabs I have, are stored on SDcard and installed to Phone Memory.
Maybe CABS are faulty. Or it's not recommendend to install from the SDCard.
I'll try installing the new rom again, and Installing all cabs from Activesync.
I'll publish any news.

Still not working.
I read somewhere that this is caused by SRS WOW with Security off patch.
tomorrow I'll reinstall the rom again, and all the software without that cab.
Worked fine for 3 minutes, SDCard wasn't plugged and failed once installed Simcard.

What comes into my mind, try downgrading everything to official HTC ROM, by everything i mean also radio(unplug sdcard and simcard when flashing)
Then check if it works, if not maybe there's hardware fault.
Try different simcard too.
What software are you using?

I suggest you follow pcarvalhos or alexander-voigt instructions on how to flash (basically you have to flash official wm6.1 before flashing a ROM if you observe stability issues) and then flash pcarvalho, alexander voigt (or mines). It should work if you follow the instructions exactly. Then try again Niax' rom
