it is my 1st time.
My Kaiser is WM 6 with Arabic support. I have the official HTC ROM for WM 6 and 6.1 from their site.
my question is if I upgrade to 6.1 and for any reason i did not like it, is it a simple as it looks to flash it back to WM 6.
do i have to worry about these confusing issues (to me at least) like the Radio ...etc specially that i am using here the official ROM's.

If the HTC roms do not contain radios then...
When you flash to WM6.1 you will need a 6.1 compatable radio. When you flash back to 6.0 you will need a 6.0 compatable radio.
Click the Kaiser radios link in my sig for versions.

I also suggest you read more. The Kaiser Wiki pages will tell you all this information. Consider this a hand out. Posting new threads without reading is a breach of the forum rules (Naked Chicks link in my sig).

GO ahead and do it. You do have all the ROMS here to flash around and get the best one u want.
Okay I just updated my AT&T TIlt witht he Windows 6.1 ROM from the site, but now I get a GPRS error all the time now and I need the ROM for how it ships but on HTC I can not download it.

maybe your radio version is not compatible with Windows 6.1 rom.....

A piece of advice when posting and especially as you are wanting to flash your device...... You need to read a whole heap first and understand what you are doing..... if you do not you will end up bricking ur device and end up a shiny paperweight....
Suggest you read the wiki page and as pilot says the relevant section on xda, and please dont flash if u dont understand the process because we will only see you in here asking for more help on how to unbrick yes?

If you arent prepared to read then you shouldnt flash ..
ps before my first flash i read for hours and days, making sure i understood what was happening, why it was and what to do if it went wrong. My first flash on my prophet didnt go right, but i knew after reading more why and how to correct it.

as long as your confidant to do so. what i would aslo recomend to do is also download an official rom or a 6.1 rom so if you dont like the 6.5 then u can go to a stable rom

THe universal is an old device and hence you wont get official 6.5 rom or even a 6.1 come to that lol. If you read the wiki page above like a said before you will find a link to all official roms
so 6.1 or 6.5 will not come to my device
it means i have to use this 5.0 version only ?
lol HTC wont bring out an official 6.1 or 6.5 rom for that device, its too old and they want people to buy new devices, hence why XDA is great!!!
You only need the official 5.0 if something goes wrong, my mate had the same device and used a m2d rom which was very nice, so flash away!!

Download and keep safe an offical 5.0 rom, dont use it unless flashing to cooked 6.1 goes wrong.
There are many good 6.1 roms in the forum, so go ahead and try some when you understand what you are doing
so i dont want to try it if it is not clear that 6.1 is supported ot not
i will only do if u r 100% sure that it is supported
take a look in the universal section, you'll find many 6.1 roms there my friend

I can recommend you Tomal wm 6.1 8.5 or 8.1 ROM´s
Actually wm6.5 ROM´s are in beta and are not so stable, and if its your first time flashing go for 6.1

Just got a Kaiser for ATT USA, i have it updated to the WM6.1 from ATT. But I'd really like to use on the cooked ROMs from this site. I've used a lot when I had a T-Mobile Wing.

What ROMs can I use?

Maybe I should have worded that differently...
What I mean is that I am a new Kaiser owner, I do NOT know how to update the ROM, I took the suggestion at the end of my first post which was to read the Sticky's. I did that I followed different directions. HOWEVER, i can not get the hardSPL to update or install. So that is now my question. If that won't update, I won't be able to update my ROM???

You should put this post in the Kaiser General Question, cos more people will help you out then, i havent had my HTC TyTN II long and i followed the instructions from the stickies and everything worked, i installed hardspl without no problems whatsoever, so i dnt know whats going wrong with yours, normally when the phone starts up it should tell you which hardspl you have in red writing along with Radio version and Rom info, if you tried to install hardspl 3.29 and it worked then it will say that when the phone begins.
Hi first time poster.
I am the proud owner of a HTC touch pro 2.
Ive been reading on this site about the different roms eg Manila but goodness im so confused, im not really that tech pro. In my settings screen it says "TouchFlo 3D 2.1.38158.2", after some reading on this site it seems to me thats the manila version. is that right? if so how do i upgrade it so i can use the custom themes and skins.
Also i have windows 6.1 on my device atm. should/can i flash it? If so what is the recommended rom to put on (if thats the right way to put it)

You can upgrade to wm6.5 if you want.
I can recommend Energy ROM´s
Leo= Manila 2.5 (slower for Rhodium)
Phoenix2= Manila 2.1 (better for Rhodium)

I just flashed my fone with hardspl but have yet to install a rom.
should i (do i have to) update my wm6.1 to wm6.5 to use the Energyroms?
i guess another way to put that question is, is it worth installing roms on my 6.1 or is it just simply better and wiser to upgrade to 6.5 and then flash a rom?

And if you don´t like 6.5 you can always move it back easy!

I cant seem to locat.e an upgrade rom for my fone and ive searched these and other forums like crazy, ive googled everything, been on the HTC website i just cant seem to locate it.
