Hi,
Just wondering does anyone here know how to change the 3 default SIPs (Compact QWERTY, Full QWERTY, and Phone Keypad) by HTC to other SIPs? I don't want to tap 3 times to use the default keyboard, and other input methods I use often.
I've tried disabling the default SIPs but the ezsip menu will show a black patch instead of other SIPs.
Currently, I'm using the default SIP menu by setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\ezsip\EnableSipMenu to 0
But that'll disable the HTC ezsip interface.
Any help out there?
Use PocketTweak utility to enable/disable SIP's. If you aren't using HTC interface,it will help you. Even it is a n old piece of software,it does its job well.

Yeah, I know that. I'm using SKTools for that. It can also be done in registry. But the purpose of posting this is that I want to retain the HTC interface... Any help?

Any1 know how to completely disable (i dont want it in memory too) Touch FLO?
Hey...
Try this:
\\\REGISTRY\HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\
EnableCube = 0 (original = 1)
It worked on my MDA Touch and i know it worked on some Orbit 2 too....
Tweaking instead of On/Off
The Polaris also has a number of other registry entries under TFLOSettings that, in addition to allowing you to turn Touch FLO on or off, also enable you to tweak its sensitivity. Does anyone know if these settings documented somewhere? I've done a search and found bits and pieces of information but not all the information in one place. Thanks.
WHY, oh why?

Question: Why would you want to disable TouchFLO? I personally think TFLO is the best invention since sliced bread...

I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351082 under Tips & Tricks (post #6) from the Nike forum but it works on the Polaris. I changed the Touch Flo settings on both my Nike and Polaris from 15 to 50 and now it's much faster. Hope this helps, let me know.

I like TFLO. However, certain apps like PhatPad which I use don't behave well with it. So I would like to exclude certain apps from TFLO. I could do this with fTouchFlo by editing a config file. However, I don't know how to do this with TFLO and a search didn't find anything. Anyone help would be appreciated.

Good for you. To each his own.
I DON'T like it.
I want to use stylus or buttons only. I don't give a damn about finger functions on the screen.
Let people do what they want. Help them if you are interested and you can, but no need to denigrate them.
Don't take this as a flame - no offense intended - I just recognize that whatever feature exists for any mechanical device, some will love it, some will be indifferent, some will hate it.

I am not sure that is possible. Your best best is to make the PhatPad developers aware of whatever issues you are having so a possible fix can be applied to future versions of the app.
I want also disable TouchFlo and replace it with the 4 cube version SCLPF
Hello, I have my polaris for a week now.
But I have the oppsite problem. My TFLO is disabled, but I don't know why!
I dont have my Polaris in landscape mode, so it should work.
I don't have any strange programms installed.
Can anyone help me with this?
TFLO has reg settings to disable for certain apps. Eg there's one for photo album there.
Is there anyway I can benefit from TouchFlo and some of the SPB softwares (like phone suite, Spb diary, mobile shell etc.) both?
I would like to see multiple appointments on my today screen and also the task list by categories which is very important.
Moreover, I have found that the sound stuff doesnt work properly on any of these roms available here unless i use mobile shell which really keeps phone silent only when i have a calender item that marks me busy. TouchFlo sound option keeps the phone silent eventhough someone's birthday is there on the calendar or even if my out of office event is there on calendar..
when i killed twice manilla2d.exe all that absolutly useless (for me and maybe some other users) stuff as panel in the bottom and large alarm clock which makes my device stupid disappeared. now there is clean screen with wallpaper. very nice, i like it but there is string "tap here to launch touchflo tm". is it possible to disable manilla2d.exe startup on every boot and this start link on the screen? (via system registry file?)
so when it is completely disabled it would be perfect to have some tiny alternative as clock in system tray or on the screen. and one more useful possible function is smth like custom desktop shortcuts.
do you now such software programs?
htc touch elf, wm 6.1

Hi ppl. I want to get rid of all TF functionalities from TP,that means TodayPlugin,Scrolling,etc...which is a part of that rubbish. Could anyone point me,how to do that? I think that Hardreset without installation of that cab can be the way,but I don't know, where to find all other cabs shipped(as ExtROM). Next thing...if someone wants to make a test after hardreset to interrupt the cabs installation procedure to disable that,I want to know,if the home/back keys will lost also their default functions without installation...someone to try it(I don't want to hardreset just for test)? If these things will be successfully for me,I will do that. Thanks.
I think it's start menu, settings, then something to get to a menu where there's a check box next to TF3D, and uncheck it.
Thanks for your tip,but I am afraid, you misunderstood my question. I want to disable EVERYTHING,that is 'extended' by the TF,not only Homescreen. Especially touch scrolling(HTC's solution is very lazy,I want to use SPB PocketPlus) and home/back keys functions(I want to handle them with AEBPlus). Simply I want to have a kind of lite ROM without any TF functionalities.
goto Window\StartUp\ and remove the .exe for touchflo
n copy it to some other folder. finally softreset...
I have deleted all of them, those were there as default(AutoShortcut.lnk,HTCStartUp.lnk,PKG.lnk,poutlook.lnk and Services.lnk),but it doesn't help absolutely. I have in startup some shortcuts, but they are known things(Chronos,AEBPlus,GPRS Monitor,auto-SIP script). No TF shortcut is presented, even I see all files in system including hidden/system.

You should be able to disable touchflo scrolling using Schap's Advanced Config. I don't have a TP, but i know the settings are in Advanced Config. You might try there.

A couple questions:
1) Are you using the most updated version...3.2 i believe?
2) Did you soft reset immediately after making the changes?
3) What features are still remaining, that you're trying to get rid of and which ones have you managed to remove?

I don't think the home/back keys are tied to touchflo, but you might be able to remap them using the key mapping in advanced config. I obviously don't know since i have a touch pro, but i know that some keys can be remapped using that program. Also i know that some of the updates in Advanced Config are related to changes that weren't sticking on the TP, so hopefully that's yoru problem.
Just to share: I tried all the above methods to disable Touchflo (finger scrolling) and it didn't work for me.
- unchecked scrolling in Settings -> Touchflo
- disabled touchflo scrolling using HTC Advanced Config
I got it working by doing the following:
Create a zero byte file and copy/overwrite the following files:
\Windows\Biotouch.exe
\Windows\Biotouch.dll
\Windows\StartUPBiotouch.exe
Now I am get my scribble pad (RemindMe / PhatPad) to work properly without the lag
Good luck!

Does anyone know how to stop the pop up keyboard? IN general it doesnt come up, except in OPERA, and man is it annoying. Ive tried a registry key change (hkey_current_user\control_panel\sip\allowchange), but it keeps changing back from 0 (i set) to 1 (the original) after I try to soft reset it to make it stick... Any clues?

Normally it will disappear as soon as you type a letter on the hardware keyboard.
Install both Sleuth's SIP Change and Beemer's Null Keyboard.
After BeemerNullKB.cab the Pro should ask you to soft reset.
Open SIPChange and choose NullKB.
I've tried several other ways using the registry, but all cause problems. This is the best way and it doesn't constantly use any resources. SIPChange just run's once at startup and that's it.
Big thanks to Beemer and Sleuth. I should link to their threads, but just to lazy to search again. Sorry
+1 on KBNull plus Sip Changer.
However I still run in to the keyboard popping up when I am in Opera. It is true it disappears as soon as I start to type something but I would prefer it not come up at all even in Opera.
I may be wrong, but I believe Opera has it's own keyboard. I had a Touch Diamond for a while and I noticed that the font on the keyboard looked different while I had Opera launched. Also in landscape mode Opera has a completely different SIP from the device.

A basically equivalent method I use is the install NullKB and use SKTools to set NullKB to the default input method.
Disable Keyboard on Treo Pro...
This is how I've done it.. Seems to work. I haven't had any problems yet.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip
DWORD:
AllowChange - value:1 - change to 0
DragStyle - value:0 - change to 1
MenuBarHeight - value: 34 - change to 1
stevebrooks,
How do you get registry changes to stick??? Mine disappear on soft reboot. I've searched, and cannot find the answer!
Thanks,
Rich
try backing up the reistry and saving the changes so all will be restored when you restore the resgistry. just a thought

Not too sure why your registry is reseting. Mine is not. I did have a similar problem with registry resets on my Vogue. I ended up switching the Rom for a different one and never had the problem since. Sorry buddy.. No solution for you.
I really like the new start menu but I'd love to be able to access it when I have TF3D unticked. Any ideas on wether this is possible or is it too much a part of TF3D to separate out?
Thanks

I would like some of the other touchflow stuff like the contacts as well. But like you i dont want to use TF3D.
I do not think this is possible.
The start-menu is an sort of tab of TouchFlo, which needs TouchFlo to be launched.
What you could try is TouchFlo Detacher (use search function), it allows you to switch between the default windows mobile Today screen and touchflo, in this case TouchFlo is running (if you hide it instead of closing, option of TFdetacher)
Just an idea, not sure if it works, but you can give it a try..
I have the Attach one installation and work like a charm.

I don't know whether this solves your problem. I installed AT0mAng & Danny_and_2 TF3D2 Tweak app. And i used Start Menu Off option and it worked for me.
Wow, there it is what i was searching for such a long time.
yeah it's nice and so iphony... but I'd love to have both WM6.5 and my old classic menu back. Does anyone know how to disable it?

I have tried a lot and never actually found a version that has HTC Menu Enhancement disable option. maybe i'm missing something
however, thank you very much Finally I got rid of that
One more question: can I somehow restore the timeout of click-and-hold so that menus pop faster? Because it used to be faster in earlier WM versions

HTC Alarm / Calender
Oh how I love the classic menu back... much quicker / easier to access / showing activated options - I'm sooo happy!!
But any idea how to get rid of the ALARM settings tab at:
Clock & Alarms > Alarm Settings > click on the pulldown arrow to set the time.
The window that opens is broken in my cooked rom. Can't set any time.
And also in the CALENDAR:
Calendar > Agenda or Day (View) > click on the date above...
This opening window is horrible to set a date...
Any idea is appreciated!! THX

P.S.: since I flashed a crooked rom and there is no uninstaller left to get rid of htc stuff... maybe there is another option ... ?? thanks!
