Numbers instead of contact names? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

i've searched but couldn't find a topic about this issue.
whenever i receiver a sms it shows a number instead of a contact name is there a solution for this?

Weird, the Mogul doesn't do that. Must be a bug, should do it automatically. Do you have your phone prefixes set correctly, since you imported the phone?

This is also when the phone me..
Does anyone know how to solve this?
thanks already
Paul
edit: I found a solution to my problem some where on the net,
in the regestry edit
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\CallIDMatch
change the value from 12 to the desired number 7 (or 8 in my case)

advanced config ----> Phone ----> Call Id match: 9
this was the solution for me

Also, check that you don't have the same number in your phonebook twice...

International Dialling Modify during call out

Hi,
Does anyone have any idea on how to change the dialed out numbers without modifying Contact entries? Reason for this is that I have listed all my contacts with a +countrycode, areacode, telnumber for the purpose of me being able to sms out even when overseas. However there are times that calling the same number when roaming overseas would need me to change the + sign to *123countrycode,areacode,telnumber. What's happening now is that I need to manually type in the new set of codes plus the tel numbers before I can dial out. Using the autosearch function of the Phone would not allow me to change the number shown.

Anyone who has idea on how to handle this? tried to search web but no one seem to have this problem. Any idea?

Changing my phone number

I ported my old Orange number onto my TMobile contract. All seems to have worked correctly, apart from the fact that my TP still displays the temporary TMobile number in Start/Settings/Phone. Is there any way I can change that?
I've spoken to TMobile CS, and they reckon it can't be changed, and all phones do that. I'm sure in the past when I've ported a number it's been displayed correctly (been a long time so I'm not 100%).
There is no such number on mine at Start/Settings/Phone. I use Vodafone. Where is this number?
It's the very first thing on the 'Phone' tab, right at the top. It says 'Phone - ' then my number in international format. It's not an editable field, just a label.
There is no way to change it as that number is hardcoded into the SIM, To be honest that is actually still your number, when people call your ported in number it is in a way call diverted to your true number, it is transparent process from the point of view of end users, but in the background that is what it is doing.

I too thought that this was the case, but it IS possible to change the phone number displayed and here's how.
People->All People
Menu->SIM Manager
Menu->Tools->List of Own Numbers
Then Edit the top one which is your phone number.

Cool, I never realised
Cool but mine cannot be saved. When I close sim manager, it 's gone.
Hmm, I'll probably end up with the same situation from october 6, when I port my orange to Tmobile. The sim already provided, has a different number
I'll be *****ing about that in the Tmobile shop if I can't resolve that for sure....

phone number prefix problem

I have a problem with the prefix in phone numbers while typing in the number:
I have have stored the phone number WITH "+" in front and I am just typing for example 0171, the person will not be shown.
How comes this? Can this be solved? With older phones, I doesnt matter if the number is f.e. +49171... or just 0171...
Does someone has informations about this?
Thank you.
I have the same problem , i would like to use 70 prefix on some numbers, but if the numbers is stored with ex 700705636261 and the person with the number 0705636261 is calling , it will be displayed as unknown !

What is +70? If you meant +7 (Russia) I think you should use +70705636261 instead of +700705636261.
I have the same problem. I have stored all my contacts with the international prefix (e.g. +31) but sometimes when I get a call it is without the prefix so the caller is being displayed as unknown.
Is this a photo of the Russian phone?

Its not +70 just a single 70 prefix, its for a splited invoice.

Hi Guys,
Isn't there a setting in the Advanced Config Tool to set the amount of numbers to match on?
I thought the option was under 'Phone' -> 'Call ID match'
I have mine set to 8 digits and I thought this got around the number prefix issue.
Sorry if this isn't the case.

[solved] Problem with Contacts and International Country Codes

So Ive been using my HTC Ozone (6.5 Standard, 3VO rom) for a while in israel, and the way the cellular network works is as follows:
country code is +972
the number that shows up on an incoming call is 052-555-5555.
The number that shows up on an incoming text is +972-52-555-5555.
The number that shows up on an outgoing call when dialing without the country code (aka 052-555-5555) is +972-052-555-5555.
All of these differences mean that if I have a number saved in the contact manager (in only one of the above forms), it isnt displayed 2/3rds of the time. If i send a text to ME(052-555-5555), the reply comes back from an unsaved number, in a new thread is +972-52-555-5555.
Is there a way for me to just save the base number (052-555-5555), and have the phone's contact manager realize that its the same number is the +92 equivalent? My current workround is saving all the forms of a number to a contact, but 1. its tedium to go through all my contacts and do this, and 2. you can only save so many numbers to a contact, which means im screwed if the contact has two different numbers.
I see all these fields in the "current country" setting, but I have no idea what they mean, or if that is even the solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hey , i got the same problem on my Omnia 2 with windows mobile version 6.5
The local incoming call won't show the country code, and sms does the opposite way.
check through all my phone setting, can not find any related option for this.
Thanks for anyone can provide a resolution.
i just resolved my problem. hope this way can help you as well.
get a regedit software on your windows mobile phone.
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Phone
under it, you should able to see a key name "CallIdMatch", change the value to maybe 8 or 9, which means it will match the last 8 or 9 numbers for each incoming call or sms. (use decimal) after the changing, reboot your phone.
Wow, it worked!!
Thanks a lot man!
thanks for the tip jason_ma!
i was also wondering about it.
Anyone know how to edit CalIidMatch an an HTC hero

[Q] HTC WP7 Caller ID doesnt work, country code issue

I have a big problem with my newly bought HTC Trophy. The caller ID does not seem to work correctly. All my contacts have the country code prefix for all the numbers (+47 or 0047 here in Norway). When I receive a call the caller name is not shown, only the number. But if I remove the country code, the caller name is shown. But then all the text messages I receive, shows only the senders number and not the name. How do i fix this?? This is a big problem for me.
I've tried switching the Internation assist on, no good. Please help

I was going to say post in Microsoft answers but i see you already have lol
Hehe Yes I have, and apparently there's a lot of issues with this from other countries as well. This is such a fundamental thing to be working so I'm suprised Microsoft doesnt have an offical saying in this..
For now, I cannot use my phone, I REALLY have to be able to know who's calling before I decide if I gonna answer or not..
Stupid MS, apart from this I'm actually very happy with the my first WP7 device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907971
use the callerid fix
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallIDMatch"=dword:7
where the dword is the number of digits in your phone number, less the country code
eg, singapore uses 8 digits, +6512345678, so it's
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallIDMatch"=dword:8

How do I unlock my phone to be able to edit the registry entries?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938106
install the developer tools
install zune
install certificate
set phone to airplane mode
connect to zune
run chevronwp7
unlock
then install registry editor from touchxperience website

Same HTC 7 Mozart user here in Malaysia, doesn't have the called ID issue...
The count should be like this:
+60
123456789
so, 9 should work for you, remember to restart your phone after the reg applied.
