Hi all.
I followed most of the activity around here for the past 5 monsths or so, and noticed several topics about the TD's internal FM radio for possible RDS/TMC usage. All without much luck.
Recently I bought a standalone TMC adapter (Navigon Trafficbox) with mini-USB connector. However I don't seem to get the thing to function at all. iGO 8 doesn't detect it, iGO 2006 and MioMap 3.2 detect it even without plugging it is (-_-) and Navigon Mobile 7 only goes for Bluetooth adapters.
Does anyone have any experience with standalone adapters on TD, know whether the USB port is mapped to a virtual COM port (and if so: which) or how to sniff the USB port to see whether the adapter is even transmitting data?
I do not believe diamond has a usb-host service to even let devices connect via that port.
I think only a bluetooth tmc reciever is usable.
It is maybe a rather strange question but i see all kind off apps for using a pocket pc as external gps. My question is can we do it the other way. I have an asus r2hv (xp on) with gps and bluetooth but it's rather big as gps device so maybe i can use it as bluetooth gps device.
Hello!
I'm thinking of buying a Tablet Zenithink Z-280 C91
Just read the following in the official web of Zenithink C91:
"For now Zenithink C91 not support the built-in bluetooth, if customer need this function, They Should buy external USB bluetooth."
Zenithink
I assume that there should be a bluetooth dongle that runs in this tablet.
Anyone know any USB bluetooth dongle that works on this android tablet?
Thanks.
kinda late to the game, but maybe this will help some others-
I've tried 2 cheapo bluetooth adapters on the ZT-280 C91 on both the official GB and ICS beta ROMs. both adapters worked perfectly. they were immediately identified, toggled off/on properly, broadcasted, paired, synced, no problems at all.
the first was a generic mini USB bluetooth 2.1 adapter. I can't post outside links yet, but the part number is ADA-BTOOTHSD2 and easily found on google.
I've disassembled this adapter to transplant into my tablet to free up a port, so I'll attach some pictures of it stripped down for anyone interested in doing the same. there's plenty of usable space inside this tablet for hardware mods.
the other adapter was even more generic. the writing on the case says "Bluetooth Class 1" and the only markings on the board are BM08C1-C08-V1, which returns nothing when searched. sorry if that's useless.
shiftace: that's great idea! Could you post some photos of the adapter inside your tablet and describe where exactly did you connect it? Thanks!
Finally found a dongle that works on my Zenithink C91 Upgrade with Android 4.0.
It is this: http://www.lightinthebox.com/pt/bluetooth-dongle-adaptador-Mini-2-0_p77386.html#my_review
- I can get files from my phone to the tablet without problems.
- I can connect an external GPS receiver (Holux GPSlim 236) to the tablet, but the problem is that I can not make the GPS work with any GPS Navigation Applications. I tried the Sygic, the iGO, the NDrive and none can track satellites.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
Thanks.
External GPS & Bluetooth via USB
Hi,
I've got the SAME problem / question. Just bought a Zenithink ZT-280 C91 Android 4.0 10.1" tablet with USB OTG and mini USB port but looking for EXTERNAL GPS & BT that is verified to work with Android 4.0 (Linux kernal 3.x).
JTG.001, did you try using Google Maps with GPS turned ON from Android 4.0 Settings menu? How did you know that your Holux GPS (which I also have) driver s properly installed & working? Did Holux provide a Linux kernal 3.x driver?
Also, it's encouraging that you were able to get USB BT working, which tells me that USB External connected devices do work with native Android features like GPS or BT. It sounds like, however, other USB BT dongles didn't work as you said "finally working" -- which ones didn't work? I'm trying to buy 1 of these cheap BT USB 2.0 EDR dongles from eBay but not sure if Linux driver is available.
Thanks much for sharing your takeaways! I'll share mine back if I find answers too.
This dongle works in my C91 Upgrate:

Problem solved with the GPS
Finally managed to solve the problem of browsers not picking up satellites.
What I did was the following:
1 - Install the aplication Bluetooth GPS
2 - Pairing with External Bluetooth GPS antenna (mine is Holux GPSlim 236) with the Zenithink C91 Upgrade (just do it once and it is)
3 - Open the aplication "Bluetooth GPS" we have installed, check "enable gps mock provide" (this part is very important) and give it to "connect" to your external Bluetooth GPS.
Working properly with Sygic, Ndrive, iGO...
Help with internal BT transplant for ZT-280 C9
Hi Shiftace,
I purchased a ZT-280 C91 and in the spec at Amazon.com says it has internal bluetooth. I contacted the seller and he said that it's problably has a communication issue.
I tried some actions but didn't have success. I'm interested to do as you did instaling an internal BT. Can you provide me more details about how to do this?
I need to purchase the BT dongle and I want some help with the spec about the model you bought.
Thanks for your attention.
Best regards,
Alexandre.

Hi community.
This is my first post, so please be nice. I just got my first Headunit and i am having some trouble. It´s an Xtrons TE706PL (MTCE Oreo).
The first problem is WIFI. When starting the connection is always good. But after a few minutes of inactivity its is going down to nearly nothing. In this moment the head unit is on my desk only two meters distance to my router and it gives me only 0.5mbit/sec.
The second problem is USB and SD. I cannot see any pluged in devices in USB or SD-Card slot. The File Manager does not detect them. Only with ES File Explorer I can see the devices pluged in USB and use the files. SD-Slot seemes to be completely dead. But this cannot be right, can it?
So please help me. Did I get a defective Headunit, should I send it back? Or is the software so buggy and I should try another software?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: If I don´t connect with Bluetooth the Wifi seems to work. Strange!

Probably you have a md725 bt module (is a rtl8723 wifi+bt chip) that some guys reported to be interfering bt and Wi-Fi signals.
(Check which bt module is set up on factory settings)
Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
The factory settings say: WQ_BC6
Maybe it would help to use a seperate bt/wifi dongle.
Some people here seem to be successful with the Comfast CF-WU725B.
HI
I have a new PX6 Head Unit Android 9.
one problem is, that the WiFi disables itself after a short period.
Sometimes i click "enabel Wifi" and when it starts to activate - it gets deactivated already.
Sometimes it works for several Minutes and is then deactivated.
I have a WIFi USb Stick with gsm Card connected via USB like on my older PX5 Radio and thats no Problem.
So the Wifi is Always there,.. even "activate WiFi when known WiFi is near" doesn´t help,.. i tried several Things but Nothing seems to work…
the 2nd problem that i have is, i cant assume a sd Card as internalt Memory. no known SD Card works. ( i have several here and all worked on the px5 board )
when i go to the Memory menu and click on the gps Card,.. the filemanager Always crashes - Nothing helps. any ideas? the Cards are known and functioning ( Video MP3 etc... )
What did the reseller suggest or offer when contacted for support?
