help upgrading xda mini s

Hi all got my xda mini s today and it has the old windows 2005 on it and i want to upgrade to a better one
what would be the best one to use ?
when i turn phone on i get IPL/SPL 2.21.0001
also its unlocked .

hi all ive just tryed up dating phone with ROMUpdateUtility and it didnt update the rom it still the same as before but it went thru the update .
i have downloaded Hornet5_With_Live rom .
i found out my fone is g4 but how do i load the rom to my phone

i wonder heve you read the manual/tutorial to falshe the device' do you know if is unlocked? is a G3 or G4 device?
I strongly suggest you to read a little, there are STICKIES to learn the flashing way XD

hi yes its unlocked and its g4 but in STICKIES post i cant download the files needed wizard_love rom , T-Mobile 2.26 rom, says error when i try and download ..

no, you dont need wizardlove rom

what do i need to upload the rom i have to the phone ?

hi all flashed new rom on my xda mini s now its called XDA2's CLEAN Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM .
is there a better one for my phone .
it needs to be g4 safe lol learning now

Since yor are learning, i suggest you to try until you find the right one for you (we all did the same)

i also fixed another problem with my phone the radio rom needed up dating so i could send textes on orange . now its working ok .

Warranty reasons - Problem with Htc touch pro

Hi people...(sorry for some errors in the english)(i'm from portugal)
I have a Htc touch pro with some problems...(the space and other letters only work with very pressure and the phone at times restart alone)
I have buy the phone in miau.pt from other person and at this time i have warranty at least 1year and 3 months...
I have search in this forum but I don't have found a similar case...
I have send the phone for warranty, thinking that the phone was the original software...
The guys said that the phone don't have the original software, and not give any warranty...
I want try to put the phone original and send other time to warranty...
Do you help me with this? I don't have much experience but I have to learn and try...
I don't now what the guy have modified...
I have read that is possible to modify spl,radio and rom...
I only want the phone original to win green light in the warranty...
Please people, help me with this...

I don't have the phone right now but, the people of warranty gonna send it to me. I have to wait a litle for the phone arrive in my adress...
In this space of time a want to learn how to put the phone 100% original to pass in the warranty...
Sorry to molest but I don't know another way to do this...

You should be able to just download a stock ROM and flash it.
Did you installed EZ Input 2.1?
I had problems when I tried that.

No man I don't know...in my hand I don't have instaled nothing...
The phone was of other guy and I don't know what they instaled to the phone...
I think, a original rom (can you give me a place? I have search but I don't know really sure if was original or no) and I don't now if there is something more to do for the phone to comes all original...

I'm a little confuse...
I have read that one rom have some numbers and not all the original or stock roms works in a phone(touch pro/raphael) ...
What is the really place that have the original or stock rom's?
How I'm sure that the phone is totaly original to pass in the warranty service?

you need to download the stock rom that the phone would have had when it was bought new. i have no idea what one it would be as i dont know what service provider you are with. find the stock rom and flash it, then youll be good to go

what is the way to know what rom download?
and the local to download is here?

Who is the best way to know what is the original rom of the phone?
I guess the former owner don't touch in the HardSPL..
If the rom flashed is realy the original hurts the phone?
As it for warranty reasons, I did not want to unlock HardSPL.
The local to download the original Rom?

Is it possible to come back to the original ROM

I would like to try the megam ROM my doubt is, is it possible to come back if something doesn't work to the original ROM? And if yes how? I read someting about oli pro, but it's the first time I tried ti flash a PDA so please hel me.

yes..it´s possible...just look in my thread under steps...or i think salvy (megan rom) have also a link to the original rom....and flash hardspl before flash another rom..it´s a must have...

it's a good phone but is very difficult to find custom rom. i have alredy rooted my phone and i also installed CW recovery.
at the moment this phone has a Cyanogen rom. I'd like to install a MIUI rom; anybody can help me to do it?

is possible to install flash player into a deviece not certified from adobe?

If you are looking for a MIUI rom your best bet is to go to the miui site. My best advise would be to search the internet as most roms are not for China based dual Sim phones.

I would check the MIUI site as no development for those roms are done here due to GPL violations. All the roms here are only translations

I have an S810 dead after an attempt to root.
the Clockwordmod program works.
I need a ROM or a backup of boot.img for this phone.

I think we are a lot now to have the s810 phone, we should try to help on progress to root it and install new rom, i will try to find informations but if a cooker is ready to work on it we can donate too for the work...

Get ahold of the OEM and have them release the kernel source code and see what they say

hold the oem
can u give me a tip for how to do that ? should i ask the kernel via the terminal ?

Who makes the phone? They are the only ones that can release the source code for the kernel. And under the GPL they have to release it.

I finally find the original firmware of this phone if someone needs it i can send of course ! Just send me ur email in pvt and i will send u a link via dropbox Can someone have a look on it to tell if we can use others rom or simply root it ?

I spent a lot of time searching original firmware for the s810 and i think now can be the start of many things on this device...
Something that would be nice is to write on this "thread" all the things we do on this device (installation, rooting and improving)
I will try during the day to find a place to host the original firmware...
Ps: A hint from russian forum : Cyanogenmod rom works for this device ! cool !!

For Sensation, I highly suggest Android Revolution HD™ by Mike1986.
All you need to know about the ROM, among other things related can be found there as well.

You need to s-off and root first.
Go HERE
This is the same place to get back to s-on.
ARHD ROMS are very close to stock and stable.
Go HERE
Updates are provided by mike well before HTC release anything,so there is no need to go back to stock,unless you have a warranty issue.
Good luck.
Read carefully before you try anything you are unsure of.

A rom is installed via the 'recovery' program, not the 'hboot' utility.
When you go into the 'hboot' utility, what do the first two lines of text say?
