Change texting font WM6.1 - General Topics

Can someone tell me how to increase the font size for texting with WM6.1. I tried nueFont program and it did not work? Can I do a regedit?
edit : Solved post 3.
Also using SMS Tweaker v1.5 to cusomize background and other font size in the threaded area.

Try Tweaks2K2 use the trial version first!

My solution
Regedit
HKLM->Software->Microsoft->Inbox->RichEditHostFontSize change to whatwhat value you want. I changed mine to 14. I guess my vision is failing me. LOL

Alter Java VM on SDA

I'm using the tmobile (US) SDA2. I'm wondering if I can change the Java Virtual Machine. The JVM that ships on the default ROM is decent - at best.
For instance, I can run google maps, but I can't edit the font size. It's quite annoying that I have to squint to read the tiny font. I know it's related to the JVM, as my buddy has the 2125 using a different JVM - his fonts are definitly larger.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Ok, I determined that my SDA has the Tao Inent JVM.
Does anyone know if I can make the fonts larger? Especially in GLM?
Thanks!
I found that the new font (upgraded ROM) was just terrible. I resolved this on my handset by going to the following key and renaming it:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tao\intent\conf\sys\font
(So, on my handset, I renamed "font" to "jfont".)
There is another key under sys. I don't remember if I added it, or it was already there. (Sorry, I'm on my Mac, and I don't have the registry backup I created to check.) In any event, here is what I have for the values under that key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tao\intent\conf\sys\ui\midp\vnd\font\
alttextfont
STRING monotype.com,16
labelfont
STRING andale,16,bold
size
STRING 16
stringfont
STRING andale,16
I remember I did this because the updated ROM changed the font size to something so small, it was almost useless for me.
Joel
awesome - i'm off to try it now.
thanks !!
unfortunately, i coulnt find the reg settings =(
using resco, which i'm sure is reading the registry correctly....
FYI - Runtime Version MIDP 2.0:v10.1.7.542
Is there a way I can remove this one and the install a new version?
thanks!!
Which settings aren't there? I'd only be conerned if the first set of settings (the one I said to rename) weren't there.
I may have added the others based on a compare I did with my older ROM's registry settings.
My version is 2.0: v10.1.7.546
It's hard to imagine that they wouldn't be there.
what the heck...
This is weird. I just triple checked - I still dont have those RegKeys..
Hmm. What Rom/Phone are you using? I'm on the stock TMob SDA2.
Thanks!

Skin Mobile 5

Himalaya and WM5 users,
Have you used the wm5 application skin mobile 5?
It's just a skin to make your taskbar looks like wm6 taskbar in any color you want. i think you can edit the .ini file for the colors. just log on to ppcgeeks.com and search for it.
But the problem is, it is not english in language and you have to minimize the application so that the changes remains.
I think it's cool.

Reset your font size.
Are you using a Leo based ROM?
this is for wwe roms, right? or is it multilanguage?
I need it for a german rom. somebody has an 0407?
I have the same issue: The font size of the sms text is VERY VERY small.
Note :
- This occurs only when answering a sms and not when you write a new sms.
- Changing font size has no effect on this (it just displays the sms you are trying to answer in a bigger font not the one you are writing)
I'm using this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566546 Manilla 2.5

FWIW, I have no text size issues.
Settings\System\Screen\Text Size
I created a cab. It includes all languages
try it: rapidshare.com/files/337682662/_HTC_HD2_LEO08007.cab
deactivate manila before installation!!!
on my device the input range is normal size now.
Xpopuptoast
After installing the fix the task manager shows, besides the messaging client, a XPOPUPTOAST (?): what is it?

Ok, thank you!!
Hi,
I've just installed this fix on my TD2 which is running Dutty's Leo 2.5 HG R0 ROM, and haven't noticed any difference in the speed at which the SMS threaded list built up, although the phone is now responsive whilst building up the list so I can write an SMS while the list finishes building up, so there is some improvement!
I do however have one issue/bug, that hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. I now get the some extra text added to end of each message in the threaded conversation just before the date and time are shown (please see attached image), the text reads "- GSM"
Any ideas why I have this extra text and how to get rid of it? it only appears in the threaded view, not on the single message preview when you first press on the message tab, and not when you select "all messages" when in Conversation mode, but if you switch to traditional mode in "all messages" the "- GSM" appears again.

[Problem] Big Size Font in Messeges?!?

When i go to the messages i saw that the font has been maximized without change any setting . I give you a pic to be more understand (Attach file)
Where caused this problem?? The last programs i had install on my HTC HD2 was BSB Tweaks, HD2Tweak, xdaShutdown and some apps from Windows Market Place and the setting for the font size in setting is in small size. Please show me a easy tutorial to repair the problem because i'm noob....
Sorry if i have mistakes in my english.....
Thank you very Much,
Yours em1111
One more thing i had been install too the last updates for the fix camera and upadate for sim Contacts in cabs from user smaberg in topic:

Totally i've solved the porblem....back up your files and make Hard Reset in:
Settings->Security->Factory Reset

New sms app?

Do they have have a new sms app for my hd2...the defualt on is choppy sometimes and just looks blah...plz help
yeah, its called Windows Mobile 7
I suggest you try kimi_sae_ireba's Sense 2.5 People/Messaging Mod. You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6362736&postcount=1295
You need to find a way to successfully kill the messaging client before you can install his cab because otherwise it will not work.

do you know if this messaging client helps with the SMS loading lag (threaded with lots of messages)?
this is my BIGGEST issue with the HD2 and how it takes forever to properly reply to a SMS

The mod isn't an actual "Messaging Client". It's a mod for Sense.
If offers a number of features that the HTC Messaging Client doesn't:
1. Paged messaging system - Similar to WM threaded SMS where older SMS are moved to an "Older Messages" page. This helps increase loading speed SUBSTANTIALLY.
2. Has page navigation buttons so you can move to an older page to review messages sent and received.
3. Has built-in text size controls - You decide how large or small you want the text in the messaging window to appear.
4. Has offset speech bubbles - Adds a bit of eye candy to make messaging more enjoyable. Also has an option to turn these off if you like.
NOTES:
1. HTC Messaging Client MUST be removed or completely disabled/killed.
2. Arcsoft MMS is now required since the HTC Messaging Client used to handle MMS and is no longer available.
Try Version 2015 of Sense Messaging. Its not been released yet but you can ask in the thread for a cab. Believing rumours it should have GREATLY improved the loading of messages (instantly).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696848&page=19
Make sure that you close HTCMessaging 100% before installing: Disable HTC Sense --> Reboot your phone --> Install the cab --> Reboot --> Activate HTC Sense
I like the look of the speech bubbles of kimi`s but I have stock rom and reading through the thread a few people are having issues, anyone know of any others with teh speech bubbles all in a simply cab file for stock 1.48
i can make the cab but i need to know where i need to copy files!
