2g sim in touch pro - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Would a 2g sim card work in the touch pro?
Thanx

I am using an UK Orange pay monthly 2G sim - seems to be working fine as a 2G phone for me. I haven't noticed any problems. I even used it on holiday in Orlando last month - no problems connecting to AT&T there for making calls & sms messages back to the UK.

Thanx for that, Its a big help

[Q] 3g problem on frequency incompatibiliy in Brazil?

Hi all,
I bought an HTC One X AT&T recently. On a trip to Spain installed a Vodafone sim card. The voice connection worked perfectly, but I could not use the 3G. The same sim card work worked perfectly in my wife's iPhone 4s. Back to Brazil, I'm trying to use a Oi sim card and have the same problem. I checked with Oi operator and it uses 2100 mhz for its 3G network. In both cases I got an 4G icon (not 3g) on the too bar.
Do I have a real problem with 3G hardware of my phone or I'm missing something? Is there a way to test 3G radio?
Thanks for any help!
You have to manually enter the APN info for the carrier in order to get data and MMS.
Assume you are SIM unlocked, as if you were not voice calling should not work either.
I've used the AT&T One X in Germany a few times and had no issues with HSPA+ data on the 2100 MHz band.

[Q] 2G not working. 3G/4G working

Bougt a Nexus 5 32GB D821 in December in England on holiday. When i came back to Norway the 3g/4g network worked fine but I dont get any signal when i switch to 2G.
I live on the coast so sometimes I lose 3G signals and then I have no signals at all.
I have testet the sim card on my old S3 and there it works fine. Since i bought it in England I have no warrenty and no one will fix my phone.
Is it an hardware problem or software problem?

[Q] D6633 Hacking

Hey guys,
So I have the Z3 Dual, but where I live, we only get 3G network and no GSM, which brings me to my question:
Is anyone working towards a hack to allow my device to run BOTH my Telstra SIM cards in LTE mode without one reverting to GSM?
Thanks in advance,
Phil
Really? No gsm signal or 2g. I think 2g structures are the most basic one that every carrier Has. BecAuse if 3g becomes congested, the subscriber can fall back to 2g. Anyway i guess no hack is on going because of the rooting issues with this plus i think it's a hardware limitation. 2 simcards cannot use 1 modem (the 3g/4g) because that would tax a lot of battery power
Sent from my D6633 using XDA Free mobile app
There are 2 radios in the phone I'm suspecting, since both SIM's run different IMEI numbers (1 per radio) if you check in About Phone/Status and check the 2 SIMs.
So I can't see why this is a limitation.... renders the phone worthless for what I wanted it for (Work sim and Personal sim),
And yes, where I live, there has never been GSM, it was CDMA before the towers were upgraded to 3G (Central Wheatbelt is Western Australia).

When you use the first SIM with LTE the second has no signal?
I can't understand if the second sim limit is only for connection or also for 3G bands.
I mean: you can still use the second line on a 3G network only for calls and SMS without using data connection or not? The second line is limited on 2G bands?
thanks for answers I ordered a Z3 Dual 2 days ago

Correct, because the second sim drops down to GSM, which we don't have in rural Western Australia. And vice versa, set the second SIM to LTE/WCDMA and the first SIM drops down to GSM. Meaning, you cannot run 2 SIM's side-by-side unless you live in an area that has GSM/2G still.

So, you choose either SIM as your data sim. Whichever you choose, that sim runs in LTE mode and the other SIM is used for calls/sms only.
SMS and phone apps both have 2 send buttons labelled 1 and 2, so you can send messages or make calls from either SIM at the press of a button. But only 1 SIM has data active, that is the SIM running in LTE mode.
I have messaged Sony Mobile Developers regarding this, the reply was:

Thanks for infos!
That's weird! If I live in a place with only 2G or only 3G network I cannot use 2 sim cards!
But I remember reading on online user manual that the 2 sims network settings are separated, right? If you force both on the right frequency?
In a few days I'll receive the phone and I'll help you with some tests

Correct, both sims wont run on 3G at the same time..
Both sims WILL run on 2G at the same time though (GSM).

This could be caused by a few things.
1. Hardware fault.
2. Your carrier (SIM Provider) switched to a none supported band or bands. The M808 does not support LTE band 20 (800mhz) which is common in Europe
Supported Network Bands:
(2G) GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
(3G) WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
(4G) FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7/B8/B28
3. APN settings although this would not affect voice calls
4. Your carrier Decided to block your phone by IMEI from using anything other than 2G and yes they do sometimes do this O2 did it to me some years ago now with absolutely no warning or reason given so I will never ever use them again the arrogant s****
5. Duplicate IMEI someone is using a phone with the same IMEI as yours on the same network. This can cause all kinds of strange stuff to happen. Again happened to me when I restored the incorrect backup. Both mine and my sons phone ended up with the same IMEI . It took ages to work out what was going on with that one
I would suggest you first try another sim card from another provider that use's the supported bands for 4G (3UK) if in the UK it used to work fine on my Old M808.
I done some tests.
I put my sim card to other phone - everything is ok.
I put other provider sim card to my phone - only 2G is working properly.
I done flashing - no improvement.
Im afraid hardware fault.
Any more sugestions?
