hey all,
im just bout in the range of buying the Tilt 2 but idk if i wanna jump ship though, i really need it because of the big 3.6inch screen and the beautiful keyboard, ive been going back and forth to AT&T lately checking it out and also looking for the expo, unfortunately the rep told me its not out yet but soon, i would get it for the snapdragon but my fuze is quick already and wont notice anything anyways, so the expo is out of the picture, so the real question is, is the tilt 2 really worth smacking 300 dollars in replacement of the fuze? and even though theres other newer devices out already?
looking foward to everyones input on this, thanks!

Keep your Fuze for now ATT is supposed to get 5 android phones this year.
Hmmm
I moved from the Touch Pro to the Touch Pro 2, under the assumption that the only difference was the screen, as the specs were essentially the same... But I'm glad I did, It's a far better and quicker (at stock level) device than the TP, I didn't want to go android because of all the apps I have for WinMo and despite some peoples gripe with WinMo, I don't generally have any issues with it.
Plus, a lot of the new devices are being released sort of iPhone-esq, screen only and the TP2 is the only device available (where I am at least) with a decent hardware keyboard.
I had been debating about upgrading to the TP2 for a while also. But I've held off mainly because the hardware specs are almost identical (except for the larger screen). I figured that I would be better off waiting until a Windows Mobile slider phone with a faster processor and larger screen was released. Although I have been oh so tempted to purchase T-Mobile's HD2 when it's released.
Same boat. what are the other prospects? i was highly considering the tp2
Hey everyone.
At the moment I'm on a TD2, it's had it's good moments but feels a little dated now (especially fed up of using a stylus now seeing as it isn't great for using fingers).
I just wanted anyone who's using an Android phone to give me some first hand advice and experience of what the OS is like (as I've not really had the chance, and won't have the chance to try it out).
I'm considering getting the Desire on Orange (as it's the only carrier that offers HSPA in my area), and just letting my o2 contract run down (after lowering the tariff each month, about 8 months left). I've recently landed a job and have little else to pay for so money isn't that much of an issue at the moment, so I'd just like any Android users comments and recommendations!
Cheers everyone!
It's pretty awesome. The versatilely and usability are incredible. The only downside is it can be a bit slow at times..But that is likely because I am using dated hardware (htc hero) and not something like the nexus one or evo. i have no doubt the n1 flies through menus and actions much better than my hero. but regardless this phone is soo much fun
i personally like the OS
but if u have good hardware in the phone, it will make your experience more awesome!
Hello all,
Been looking at this phone for a while, want an upgrade my desire as
it just lags bit much more then i like and battery not as good.
My question is:
What is the vodafone stock levels like? Where is the best place to buy i.e. shop , online , phones 4 u.
Ive been looking forums and seen people saying online have been having stock issues , so was just curious?
On a side note , has anyone upgrade from desire/similar and can
say its worth the upgrade? I worked out it only going to cost me around £100 to
upgrade which I'm happy to pay - but is it worth it? (After i sell the phone and cancel my current contract etc..)
Also , how much internal memory has the desire got left to use on first boot?
Not seen a deffinate answer yet? I've heard around 1gb?
Any plus/minus is worth knowing to help my decide?
Thanks
I've heard it's a great phone, with few issues.
But I've heard from some Desire users and DHD users that it's not much of an upgrade, in that you could pass it off as a "Desire-PRO." The feel will be pretty much the same, just with a better camera and touch screen buttons at the bottom. I've also heard that Sense 3 is not that much of a big step up. (the homescreen has a different animation, though)
In my opinion, from a Desire, the only thing your really upgrading to is the new lock screen, speed improvements and more storage.
(There's more RAM, but you get left with 197MB actually available for apps to actually use. On my Desire, I get 155MB left available for apps)
Of course if you a HTC fan, and that's what your looking for, then by all means it's a great phone, after all the Desire was pretty amazing.
If you fancy a change, you could look at the Atrix or GSII (or one of the optimus phones)
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I don't actually have a Sensation, but have been intensively reading the forums for the last month or so. (I'm in the process of deciding what to upgrade as well)
If the QHD screen is not the killer feature for you, you can quite easily run Sense 3.0 on the DHD, as many people are doing already.

I agree. qHD is a "failed" technology. It's pretty damn good, but it's an "inbetween technology." It'll be around for 4-6 months and then we're going to have ultra-high-resolutions in the market, which will simply triumph all other displays.

Thanks for that useful stuff!
im seriously thinking now. I think i would love the bigger screen size and quality ,
im agains the samsung simple for the feel of it, i hate the galaxy s , as i class the feel of the phone as one of the most important (as doesnt matter how good a phone is, if you hate the feel in your hand then not very good)
Im confused about the quote, you mention ram at the start then say only
197mb free for apps,
do you mean there only 197mb internal memory spare for apps?
If thats true that is a big minus!

No, by 197mb RAM i mean that, that's all you have for apps to use - RAM is not storage. RAM is Random Access Memory. Basically the more RAM available, the more things the phone will be able to do WITHOUT lagging up and getting slow.
In the beginning i was referring to 1GB of space of internal storage to store all of your apps.
Cheers for that -
Heard any issue with stock? ideally i want to walk into a shop on Friday and pick one up, might ring first just in case
Hi Phil,
I got mine yesterday from Phones4U, they had no stock problems as far as I know.
It has around 600Mb+ free for app installations (plus the 8Gb SD card of course). As previously mentioned, there is about 200Mb RAM free on boot too.
Only lag I've had today has been when updating the Vodafone settings (data plan stuff) which needed a reboot, but I'm guessing it was just a glitch with one of the apps using the connection at the time, as otherwise, its been as fluid as a, erm, fluid thing.
Battery: pretty much constant web, market and facebook chat usage on 3G, plus a few 3 or so minute calls = down to 12% battery by about 2pm (unplugged 7am)
rp-x1 - Does your Phones4U Sensation have Vodafone branding or is it running Generic Europe firmware?

Thanks useful stuff coming from someone who brought it !
And yer the screen and speed are my biggest wants . 600 mb is plenty so that sorted that problem!
Im edging towards it closer and closer! Specially as my desire battery seems to be dieing , i was one first to get one before the release date so had it 15 odd months and battery life getting worse and worse.
Also thinking of upgrade from Desire to Sensation but worried about losing the optical joystick (or whatever it is called). I seem to use it a lot for close up fiddly movements of the cursor. Does new software cope without it? Do any new phones still have the hardware?

I was worried the same untill i played with my boss's desire s (without the trackpad)
HTC/android has some new little arrow buttons you can use to be more accurate which is why the trackpad has been removed on all new phones.
Takes a while to get used to it but it made me happy not getting a trackpad

Hi, it has Vodafone branding, but can only see the Vodafone logo on boot and a 360 app in the list. Otherwise it 'looks' largely untouched

Hi everyone,
Usually when Im looking for a new phone I kind of know what Im looking for, or what the top picks are.
This time I kind of struggle. maybe its because of the timing of my purchase.
Today Im using a Z3 compact, mostly because Im a fanatic for normal device size and good battery life.
With the Z3C I get 1 day easily, or full 1 day with exessive usage, and I expect that to be the same with every new phone I get
Im travelling to the US next week and although I get along with my device, I cant help the thought of getting a new upgrade for much cheaper price than in my home town.
My top priority for a new device is, as I said, good battery life, max 5.2 screen size, I guess that in todays terms and thinking the 2years long term, 4GB ram,
(because today I get some of my background processes get closed too fast by the OS)
I dont care for camera quality too much, expect the new device to have SD card slot (would be a waste of my new 128GB sdcard)
What options do I have?
I guess my timing isnt the best, S7 is getting "old" and new comers this month will probably be better hardware.
S7 edge is a great pick since its enhanced battery life, but I dont like the edge screen with its reflections.
I wish the Active to be sold unlocked, but its not unfortunetaley.
LG V20 looks interesting, but I dont know about its locked bootloader/custom rom capabilities.
Im actually in SF during the launch, but I leave USA by the 10th of September, and I guess it wont be selling there so fast.
Also, Id like to discuss about purchasing options.
Ill be travelling LA,Vegas,S.Fransisco mostly (these are the big cities), Where would you recommend buying a phone?

I had discounts from my Note8 trade in and a corporate account, so I splurged and spent the extra money on the 8gb \ 256gb version (Verizon version, actually).
The other day I flashed the firmware to the Unlocked version and on Verizon I did not lose HD\volte calling or wifi calling.
Everything is flawless so far.
I am a heavy user so I thought if anyone could actually use the 8gb RAM it would be me, so far I am pretty glad I did -- no normal person would even come close to actually using the 6gb right now.
Anyway, I love this phone so far. Fingerprint sensor is perfect despite some people saying too high. Maybe they should have come from my Note8 where it was very difficult to reach it at any given time lol.
I also have it. It's a beast[emoji3479] Best phone I've ever owned[emoji3479]

Just got this beast yesterday. Super fast, snappy, and the screen is flat! Finally ditched my rooted GS4 and am full steam ahead!
I am in love with this S10. Glad I got the 8gb ram version but I wonder if it would even matter for me -- I am always stressing my phone to the limits to test battery, signal, multitasking, etc etc and this thing handles it all so good.
