This Might Interest People - Especially MY Dear Friend ThingOnASpring!
I have been testing master Lt.Cmdr.Ivan latest ROM v3 for a long time, which is evident from my signature. The ROM is very stable!
When master ThingOnASpring came out with his latest ROM, I thought to give it a try. Especially, the ROM had build in HTC Home today plugin.
I found this ROM of master ThingOnASpring to be very unstable with lots of crashes and freeze ups. The freeze ups were like in olden days and when someone called, the Universal hanged up.
So, I went back to master Lt.Cmdr.Ivan ROM again. Since I like HTC Home today plugin, the first thing I did, was to install this plugin.
Guess What?
The ROM was not stable anymore!
It had lots of crashes and freeze ups. The freeze ups were like in olden days and when someone called, the Universal hanged up.
So, I did a hard reset and didn't install the HTC Home today plugin, the ROM is now working flawlessly and stable just like before!
Go figure!
KOR!
Thx,
Good to know, I'll cook the ROM without the HTC Home , which anyway I wanted to swap by rltoday!
Cheers
Depends which one you use, I suppose...
Ever since the homeplug came out I've been using it and I had some problems with the early versions. However I kept this version which seems to be stable it doesn't freeze the phone and works very well. The only problem I've found with it is that if you set the phone to vibrate using the homeplug it sometimes loses your default ringtone...
So give it a try and see what you think. You might need to have a look at Maimach's fix for the homeplug but as always once you do this it might affect the stability.

Dear wtpelzer,
Thanks a lot. Will surely give it a try. I did try master Maimach's fix for the HTC Home plugin.
I have already downloaded your plugin!
I see you are still using master N. N. Coung's ROM, like me. It is one of the greatest ROM!
Thanks again,

Search for "HTC Home VGA - 6 Tabs !NEW!" on the first page of this thread. Thanks teixeirabmb, for letting us know about it. I'm running it on my Exec. Fonts look a little bit small, but still readable. Hope it helps...

is anyone having crashing with incoming calls with the htc home plugin??? i have installed a number of versions but cannot seem to get any to work without crashing my uni when someone calls me!!
in my case, universal freezing upon receiving calls happens whatever HTC Home Today plugin version is installed.
i haven't found a solution yet other than uninstalling the HTC Home, but you can try a temporary solution: remove the SD card from the slot & i can now receive calls without freezing.
can anybody having the same freezing problem confirm this?
confirmed!!

Well, as I posted yesterday, I'm running the HTC Home Today plugin posted by teixierabmb (links provided there) on my Exec, flashed with Ivan's v3.9 ROM. I keep my 8GB SDHC card inserted all the time, and I simply don't experience any freezes with incoming calls at all.
Cheers!

As far as I know, Jason's latest ROM had problems to properly handle SDHC cards. So, the SD drivers might really be vilains there...

hi drsqueggy,
do you mean confirmed that removing SD Card temporarily solved freezing problem?
i'm trying to figure out if its a registry hack related to SD (i.e. PIE cache to SD), the SD type & speed (tried MMC but freezes too), or what?
by the way my uni is a vodafone V1640.
I've tried the 2 SD drivers that come with the latest nncuong's rom, but the phone still froze intermitterntly on incoming calls (and keeps vibrating).
I won't uninstall htc home, coz i'm going to miss it.
Rant follows, please read it and check if you share my views about the question: -----------------
I'm beginning to think the Universal is flawed inside in its hardware, and nothing can be done for it.
With the universal, we have a slower WM6 than the competition, and a load of bugs that are still there from the veyr beginning. My Uni already froze a lot of times without reason, for example when I closed TCPMP, or when I opened the control panel. It seems like old bugs sometimes resuscitate from the grave
I miss the ability of other phones (and other PDA's too) to wake up and starrt to ring INSTANTLY when a call comes in, and not after 2 or 3 seconds.
And also that pause when you answer a call, where the other end doesn't hear you but you can hear him, is very bugging.
Let's face it: the Uni is not well engineered, either, as there are some components in the system that act like bottlenecks. Sure, SKTools benchmark give the Uni its say, but the truth is not that. Try installing a CAB file on the Uni and the same cab file on an HTC Touch. Guess what, the touch does it in 1/4 the time of the Uni. And guess what, the Touch's processor is the old ****ty omap 850 (a seriously-underpowered 200 mhz processor!). How could this be possible???
But the worst part of the history, is that every rom released only adds its bugs to the pile. I think they (the cookers) should unite and make some serious information-sharing, trouble-shooting and rom-releasing work together.
Heck, admit it, every now & there a rom comes out that use a "new extraordinary revolutionary mega-fast driver", only to discover, days later, that this driver is only mega-unstable and that it had already been tried months before.
I didn't have all those problems with my old Tornado's WM6 hack... they (the cookers) released a WM6 rom, and it worked flawlessy at first chance, way better than the original WM5.
Hi,
I am a proud owner of a t32+ daxian x999+.
I am searching for other users of this phone.
Althought my phone is currently in repair in China , I still think it is wonderful device.
I hope al the users will gather here so we can help eachother.
I would like to know for example if anybody has succeeded in overclocking with omapclock. And if he did at which Mhz?
Also very interested in which software you guys are using. Which software runs very good and which not so well.
I have running SPBmobile Shell 2.0
TCPMP with flv support
Tman 0.9.10
SPB imageer
S2u2 1.05
S2V 0.35

Opera Mobile 8.65
SKtools 4.1.25.3
Esmertec Jbed Java for playing touchscreen games
SPB freecell
SPB Sudoku
SPB Brain Evolution
Still looking for a better luancher than Mobile Shell.
Has anyone used Ifonz yet or throttlelauncher?
Those look very nice too.
Also I am not sure the T32+ is compatible with 8Gb SDHC tf cards.
All your help is welcome.

Hi

Somehow after a few crashes my rom got corrupted, it would not start anymore , not even a hardreset.
I tried to overclock the cpu a few times with no luck.
Maybe that killed the rom.

HI, I'm a proud owner too, so far no much complains about it, I'm not running any overclocking tool but actually using memmaid I could disable the damn flo cube myself and now the phone is running better, I'm switching between Ifonz and pointUI, but waiting impatiently for the Iswish or the even better and original Omnia touchwiz cab to appear I'm still very much attract by Iphone itself tough..but I must admit that this phone is a real treat, I think we should I found this forum for it as well as this http://www.i-clone.be/ ..keep posting about it so I won't feel alone!!
I bought mine at fastcardtech.com.
It is a Chinese webshop, but untill now they have been thrustworthy.
Took about 3 weeks from payment till delivery of the phone.
Now I must see how their service is gonna be. I have send my broken phone thuesday 2 weeks ago , but they say it has not arrived yet.
I cant track it , tnt said it could take 15 days , so I have to wait a little longer.
I will keep you posted about this and how they will handle my case at fastcardtech.
Is Ifonz running fine on the t32+?

what happend to ur phone?
@efjbedjong: Don't think it has anything to do with trying to overclock it, I tried to do that in the beginning (also to no avail) and after a couple of weeks the phone started crashing too... ROM is also corrupt now and have sent it back yesterday.
Am going to get the same phone, but am really not pleased with it anymore...
The cpu is too slow...
My setups were something like this:
* iFonz+s2v+s2u2+s2p+opera 9.5 etc... I thought iFonz ran too slow sometimes (sometimes it really RAN! but mostly it had to load a very long time)
* Image Viewer 0.9: prefer this one over s2v
* Spb Pocket Plus: C-R-A-S-H-E-D a lot!
* SPB Mobile Shell: C-R-A-S-H-E-D a lot!
* iPhone theme with wisbar advance etc...: used too much space on my phone and had too little functionality. Preferred iFonz over this, although this is faster if you compare it.
* Resco Explorer: runs fluently and I really advise this!
* PocketCM Contacts: too slow...
* iContant: runs like a speeding bullet
* Thumbcalendar (old version): too little functionality but looked nice and acceptable speed
* Thumbcalendar (new version): acceptable speed and good functions... Would only like to have it faster. (AND FREE)
* Tom Tom 6: runs very fluently (yet don't have an external receiver, so only used the maps if I needed to know a route.)
* weatherpanel or pocket weather: can't remember which I used at the end, but one of them was super fast and easy to use...
* PCM Keyboard + iphone skin: with some of my own adaptions to the lay out ran very fluently but is annoying when you need to type letters in a message for a recipient and you cant reach the name with your stylus since the keyboard "slides" the screen up
* Resco keyboard: looks nice and easy to use, but had several problems so went back to pcm keyboard. I think this one didn't have problems with the contacts while messaging
* sdhc.777: best sdhc driver, worked immediately, whilst other drivers didn't or lost there "force" after a soft reset...
Hope I've helped
Millencolin do you still have the driver for the sdhc card. I bought a 4gb card and can't get it to work.

I just ordered mine from factorymobilephones.com
I hope all goes well. I have an Iphone 3G well my Girlfriends now.
I Love Windows mobile. I will admit the iphone was easy to use.
But that's it. so dull. you can install anything. well anything useful.
I noticed the t32+ doesn't have 3g but i will sacrifice that for the
Windows Mobile OS.
Also Anyone ever run emulators on this? Morphgear or a Psx emu?
8GB Support
@Tmo_T32- These are the files I got with my T32 ( 8GB support) in a microSDcard that came with it. (You have to Unrar the file to get the original files, Readme included)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RT1Z6JTL
I have installed it in my T32 before posting here and my T32 is still alive and everything works as usual, that means its safe. I don't know whether it works or not because I don't have a 4GB or 8GB card.
PS. Use at your own risk.
Count me into the T32 users. I don't have Wifi or GPS, though.
Check out this post for my experiences with various programs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2568881&postcount=29
I'm now running DBH Slide2Unlock, SPB Pocket Plus, SPB Weather, SPB Brain Evolution, CE Total Commander, Opera Mini, Live Search, Youtubeplay (VERY slow), Yahoo! Go (slow), SPB Time, and SKTools.
I sometimes have to soft reset because Slide2Unlock sometimes freezes up.
I would just really love to have wifi. I don't need the GPS, really, with Live Search.
I have a 2gb card and really have no need for more memory.
I have to say, my BF has the T-Mobile Wing, and that thing is buggy as hell. So far, I love the phone, I just wish it had a bit more speed and power.
hey guys
to save having to install memaid to stop certain programs starting when you reboot your t32 if you launch
File Explorer-My Device-Windows-StartUp
there you will see some files that automaticly launch when unit reboots i have only left
Acc_Ap (not sure yet what this is)
QuickTaskManager (i belive this it the little task manager that alows you to close programs that a still running- its the drop down menu on the main screen)
USSD (i think this is the driver for the SD not really sure)
any way just rebooted without the touchflow (which i always thought was the driver for the screen and now i dont have it come up every time i slide from bottom up)
so far i have not had many or if any problems besides a rare lock up but a reboot fixes that and most of the time its probbably me pressing buttons 2 qucik than what it can handle
at the moment runnin
(also just hard reset it had alot of **** on it so i started clean)
Pointui Home
TomTom7
iFonz (will not run as frame net or sumthing is not up to date)
oh and SPB Shell ran fine not dramas at all (mind you it was the latest version)
any way any questions just ask......may take time to reply very busy.
Peace out from Australia.
So my phone will be send back from repair tomorrow.
Now I am really scared to install new apps.
Dont want to fry the rom again.
If only the standard Iphone menu was configurable.
I love the s2 products , but not sure I will install these again.
Maybe I just keep it stock for a few weeks.
Anybody any suggestions?
Eric
i c your point but i think it was jut bad luck as its a hardware issue that you rom was corrupter or what ever the fault is, like u said try it for a few weeks and c how u go nut personaly i would not hessitate to install anything on it, just dont try and over clock it, for all you know you might have changed a setting and only took a while for it to fault.
any way hope all goes well.
mc
So when I get it back there is really one thing I want to install.
Ifonz
Anybody can help with what version runs best on the t32+?
Latest is 1.04 but dunno if that runs fine.
Eric
1.04 runs good...
Btw: don't think it is just bad luck, there are several people (incl. me) with the same issues.
I would also recommend not to try to overclock the cpu... As you know this might cause malfunctioning hardware and I assume you did a background check on the OMAP processor before attempting this.
It has a maximum of 200mhz and since they probably didn't use the best connections I wouldn't even think about touching that part!
Also didn't think it is caused by s2p etc... What I did notice is that WAD, WA3, mobile shell etc... (not at the same time) that my x999+ started to fail and crashed. Maybe it was a coincidence and was the process of crashing already in progress, who knows...

These are a few non-working apps I discovered when trying to customise my TD2 on day one.
1) HTC's gprs monitor refuses to install.
2) Core player exits on installation complaining about a "problem". - NOW FIXED
3) I already mentioned Tomtom6 on another thread.
Anyone found any others?

As I've seen coreplayer showing video on the Diamond2 in one of the reviews I'd say that something has gone wrong during your customisation.
Core player 1.3 work perfectly on my Diamond 2 !!!!
A problem has occurred with player.exe
Please tell Microsoft about this problem.
That's what happens when I run the program. It installs and appears in the program list but just won't run. I can't tell you what version it was either.
Maybe I should try a different version.
After a hard reset and direct install onto the device from a cab file I can now confirm that Coreplayer 1.3 does work very well on the D2. I have amended my original post. Thanks.

There is a new updated version of Co-Pilot specifically for the Diamond2, phone technical support on 0871 6412 540 (in the UK) and ask them for the download link, I did and my Co-Pilot is working ok.
If you try and load the D1 version you wont see many of the graphics on the screen, to get round this you can try using a non HTC old version and use the cab file from that, you should be able to find one floating around somewhere. The graphics are still not correct using the old generic cab but its usable.
Thanks for the reply and I did contact them and was given a link to the Diamond 2 program and it works ok.

Can you let me know what that version is? Im running 7.7.0.134 (full version with SD card etc, not Diamond version - which I think is the same but just comes without SD card and CoPilot Central PC app) but thats been the "latest" for nearly a year. Does this "new" version support the 480x800 resolution correctly.
It runs fine, just that the onscreen keys etc appear squashed.
Be grateful if you could let me know.
I just got the latest download v7.8.0.162 from them two days ago and was told by there sales person that the only thing that does not work is the TD2 Zoom Bar.
I have tested the program and it runs very smooth
How does this compare feature-wise to the TomTom mentioned in other threads for the TD2?
Co-Pilot
The version I am running is 7.8.0.162 Data NAVTEQ.EU 07Q3. v7.1.13.1.5, my understanding is that it has a higher screen resolution than the old Diamond 1 version, the menu system is a bit different. I think this version new will also run on the Touch HD.
I was told by Co-Pilot technical support that version 8 is on the horizon and will be out later this year.

In my opinion Co-Pilot is the better choice, for example you can specify the sort of road preferences you would normally drive on for each sort of road and enter the average speed you drive at to create a user profile that is normally quite accurate, there is a better zooming facility on Co P and I usually drive with the screen zoomed out so i can see all the small roads and villages around my route.
Hi ladies and gentlemen
Most importantly, does anyone have new ROM to recommend? cooked or stock, whatever as long as stable, i.e. it could pick-up incoming call without HANGING.
BTW, is this P552w codename "Galaxy Mini2". Found allot of 'thai / india" site talking about it but don't understand.
currently using ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509548
Was OK to begin with then same problems appear later on, i.e. can't pick-up incoming call. The stupid ASUS P552w HANGS.
stock V5.4's radio is sucking power, hence life short, then Asus release V5.12 with upgraded radio firmware/protocol and solve the battery short life-span problem, but daily usage stability is extremely bad. Nearly everyday have to soft-reset.
backlight flicker and is unstable. Checked 4 other units from the shop, all same problems.
HK Asus Service Centre changed the screen for me in 24hours, was fine then problems occurs but not as much anymore. Found a permanent BLUE dot but dissapppeared just before I took it in for repair - dam !!!
Mapking's GPS to identify current position takes 3 mins to lock-on is it Mapking of this phone?
HTC Home version 2.1.1.005.772 for today installed OK, but does not work - any good advice??
SCLPC++ 3D version 0-051 Cube 4-sides installed OK, but does not work - any good advice ??
FTouchFLO 1.4.1 installed OK, but screen calibration does not start at all, then force RUN - HANGS - any good advice??
FTouchFLOR configurator installed OK, operates well, but no effect, cube does not pop up.
Overclocking does not work from XPUScaler, HomeScreen, 9000 Turbo, freeclock10d, speed v11, tornado power control. Any good advice???
Thanks to all in advance.
Update ROM again from http://all-cooked.blogspot.com/
Yesterday used the 21502 version - it does not have Asus Today and no Asus GLIDE. Even faster response due to less items. Tested allot of 3rd party software on it, many wrong settings done, hence
This morning update to 21231_WM7_titanium, matching with HomeScreen ++ UI Clock as today and clone HTC cube by SCLPC++ , launching via left soft key. Haven't found application to allow sweep up to trigger the cube to start. Also does not have Asus Today and Asus GLIDE.
FTouchFlo seems not compatible.
Anyway have overclocking software to recommend?
Anyone how to enable HTC Home version 2 on this P552w ????

well well well .....
original HTC Cube working partially from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336482
problem now is touch_screen too sensitive, can't scroll, due to FTouchFlo. Haven't found a suitable / matching setting yet.
original CUBE is able to appear via flick up, but very difficult due to wrong screen sensitivity. CUBE also closed down, but does not flip left and right, probably due to sensitivity issue I guess.....
both not full-proof yet, some missing links / bug where icon taps not dissappearing or whatever.
most probably not the software, but me
installed and uninstalled countless stuffs and times, many simpler buttons and link not working already, hence probably registry screwed up badly by me.
Plan to revert to ROM of 21502 version - it does not have Asus Today and no Asus GLIDE. And no msg appear after every reboot saying read the mort something. No many other background themes wasting space and file search time.

Started using ABM30's 1st August release of 23016 for P552w. Nice Win7 spalsh start up, no more mortscript click OK every turn-on, everything else seems fine.
I still have unstable issue, I start to suspect it's the hardware. I used to keep "turbo" for CPU, now reverted back to "automatic" and seems to have more stability.
update more later.
Conclude ABM30 28011 MegaNIGHT ROM perfectly stable
Hi guys,
Just for sharing, incase someone wants to know if there was ever a conclusion to this topic's title. Yes, finally a perfect no bug stable rom found for incoming calls and others..... at least for me anyway.
Thanks to ABM30's release of CE5.2.28011 MegaNIGHT with Manila2D. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524607
Dear friends,
I just got my HD2 yesterday, and was configuring everything on it - touchflo detacher and Pocketbreeze - and everything worked fine. But then, I tried to install the Phonealarm which I use in combination with Pocketbreeze on my primary (alternative) homescreen, and when installing it the phone asked for a restart... never to come back again.
I had to hard reset! I tried again this time without installing anything prior to the phonealarm, and again a hard reset was required. It seems that the phonealarm does not work well with my HD2 (i am using phonealarm 2.14 but also tried 2.31).
So I need an alternative for phonealarm which workd on HD2 - I would need it to display a clock and missed calls and messages... anything you are using? Or maybe an alternative to get phonealarm working? (the problem is the phone immediately locks up after restart...)
Thanks,
Franklin
Why not tell Penguin over at Phonealarm support? He's a good guy and genuinely interested in supporting his product. http://www.pocketmax.net/smf/index.php?board=29.0
I'll try and see what he says...
any other ideas?

but i would still like to know if there are any alternatives
You have double posted the same at here.
I'm using PA as well, and no problem... except I can't get the TouchFlo support (give you another 'Today') to work after some messing around. At first it works fine.. : ( Now I'm using PA Host with Second Today.
Hi,
There are loads of phoneAlarm users with the HD2 not having any issues!
Make sure you installed to main memory and not to Storage

I would recommend Klaxon Alarm. The Best. You can get it here:

I've installed it, but when I confirm a new alarm, the screen remain empty and no alarm is present. I've remove and re-installed it several time, but always the same problem.
Why ?
It works just fine!
I used PA on the stock 1.43 and now I'm up to miri 6.5.x and it still works just fine. No today plugin as I'm using the "host" feature in "hidden mode". Just make sure you have the latest release as it specifically mentions HD2!
In the past I used SecondToday to give me the today plugin but when I learnt about the the host feature that has been my preferred option ever since.
