hi all,
i have a problem with my polaris internet explrorer... when i write non english language in some box in some website it appears squares...
to take notice, my device support this language even browsing but writing in some boxs.
is it related to some fonts or wat?

What language is it? sounds like fonts problem,
It happens only in one site or all sites this language?
Try changing fonts in:

thx mr.bnm7bnm for repling....
it's arabic language problem. initialy, it's just in one site! i tried to change encoding as u advice but no benifit.

If problem exist only in one site so my guess is this site using some special font or something.
You can try browsing this site through opera or opera mini or maybe other browser..

I hv tried earlier successfully, Hindi, Marathi and Gujrati. Not sure for others as I do not have the right fonts. It works like this :
-Take the fonts and copy in /Windows Folder(or windoes/Fonts folder)
- Reboot the PPC
- Go to IE, then Menu>tools>options
- Select Unicode(UTF-8)
-comeback and view any hindi or regeional website, u shd see the content and not just the squares.
Same in worD Excel.
Set the font to the regeional one of yr choice.U can use normal keyboard to key in the letters..might need little bit of practice, but it works

Do we have a definite solution for this now.
i am also facing the same problem on my HTC TILT 2.
The mobile is not displaying Indian fonts. Instead it just displays boxes. Annoying
I would really appreciate any help on this.

internet browser and arabic language

Hi guys
Since I started using WM6, I have lost the ability to display arabic text properly in internet explorer.
The characters appear each one alone and start from left to right instead of right to left.
Any workaround?
Thanks in advance,
Alan
oops, this upgrading section, and wrong forum, check www.mobile4arab.com
you may use pocket arabizer for arabic letters

Nice!
I have tried other WM6.1 ROM, but there was problem with EDGE/GPRS radio, it was not connecting to the internet. I hope this one will be working. I will come with comments soon!
Good job! The gprs radio is working good, the connection to the internet is now possible.
The look of this ROM is nice, also it has suitable programs, so I have to say after some time: upgrade it, if you can!
GSM network
How can force GSM network, it only works with 3G, my operator is YOIGO from Spain.
Thank You
T9 polish
If someone need in enclosure dictionary is Polish T9
Just updated my g500 everything went pretty smooth and took only few minutes.. Phone works much much better and faster - that's really fantastic! GPRS, EDGE, BT OBEX and AD2P perform flawless, looks like this rom is really stable, thanks to adilyildiz and emilio666 for posting it here.
One question for those who also updated - do you have 3G network working fine?
thanks a lot, gonna try it!
GPRS % MMS for Yoigo (Spain)
Someone have parameters of configuration for them?
How can be changed between GPRS and 3G from Registry?
I've been using another WM6.1 ROM which let me change this setting from the Control Panel, but this one doesn't seem to have it.
Thanks in advance

It doesn't have Mode change option in Phone Setting and looks like 3G won't work. I spent half day trying to find registry hack but no luck. There is another ROM from Darex (www.myg500.pl) where 3G works and bands can be changed.
lineus: Thanks a lot. Now I'm running Polish version (0.38a I think) and I think it's a bit better that the other one.
Anyway, GPRS and MMS is not possible for me. I'm using Spanish YOIGO. Even Toshiba assistant doesn't send me any configuration now (firmware maybe?)

Could you please give me a direct link to this ROM? I can't read polish!
And please tell me if you know any other ROM's for this mobile (even WM5), I'm trying to make a backup of my original one from Yoigo.
Thanks!
Just bought this Smartphone to replace my beloved Tornado (SP5), and sucessfully updated to WM6.1 with this ROM.
Everything seems to be working perfectly, but I will need some more time to test everything out.
Good work and thanks for sharing!

Ok, after some hours of testing, I only found two problems with this WM6.1 ROM for the Toshiba G500:
-after running the integrated Windows Live Messenger for the first time, and activating the Home Screen tab, I noticed there are icons missing on this tab. Instead of those I'm getting a red cross picture.
-everytime I open a SMS, it appears slightly paged down, hiding the sent date and time information on top. I must press "Up" once to reveal this information.
Overall this seems a great ROM indeed, a must have for all G500 owners!
can someone tell me where i can find the password? my polish is ... not good

Japanese in Opera Mobile and in E-mails?

i can get japanese to work in internet explorer by putting the msgothic font in the windows>font folder... but it doesn't do anything for opera mobile (tested with yahoo.co.jp on both).
anybody know how to get japanese fonts working on opera and also within emails? i was able to read emails in japanese on my mogul from what i remember, but it was probably from software that no longer works on the pro. any info would be great, thanks!
Thats because the language of your ROM,.
If you flash a japan ROM, then you will be able to view japan text easily,.
but if you flash an english ROM, its not,.
because we need a module to help us read it,. and usually, the module have the name with language code, (ex, english is 0409, chinese is 0407, etc) so you need japan ROM with language module, to help you read it,.
Hope this could give you a clear info and help,.
thanks for the reply, but i dunno... on my mogul i was able to read japanese emails after i installed japanese input software (i dont think it works with vga though, so i can't go that route).. and if i can get japanese working in internet explorer just by adding fonts to the windows/fonts folder, shouldn't it be easy to add japanese to opera mobile?

Vodafone Live on Non Branded Roms

Hi Guys,
I have a "hacked" HD2 with an official HTC Rom Version 1.48. The problem is that the german Vodafone Live Portal is shown without pictures in the Internet Explorer. On my Trinity the User Agent had to be adjusted either in the registry or via Advanced Config or via cab-file.
Does anyone have experience how to proceed with the HD2. I found a thread in the german vodafone forum but the posted cab file which should solve the problem isn`t available any more - I already posted there to enable it again - i hope the owner will react. Maybe a XDA-Developer will be faster...
Any idea?
The same here in the Netherlands
This is what I see, I've tried with proxy and without proxy, but it remains the same. I think the HD2 is not supported, and maby they work with a certificate.
Vodafone only allows their own branded ROMs to get full access to their Live-Portal. Changing the registry should simulate a Vodafone branded ROM like it worked already for the Trinity and other HTCs.
Cracks please help us!

Solution
OK I got it!
1) Install Opera 10 beta
2) Start Opera - then enter in adressbox:
opera:config
3) In the preference area search for "User Prefs" and enter in the Custom User Agent Box:
Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Touch_Diamond2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; de)
4) Go to the bottom of the site and save the configuration - then restart opera and go to the Vodafone Live Portal - Bingo!!!
Sorry I couldn`t post Links as I´m still a Noob and controlled by the Admins.
If you want it to Dutch language, change the last to: nl
Like this:
Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Touch_Diamond2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; de)
will be:
Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Touch_Diamond2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; nl)
Works great, thanks hoerni1000!
