Attachments in Outlook Web Access through IE? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

Hi
Thanks for reading this.
I connect to my company outlook server using outlook web access. Noticed that though the mail has attachments and in the pocket IE its shown as attachment, but whenI open that message, no attachments visible or no link to it.
Can any one suggest how can I open attachments in OWA?
I have noticed this in all cooked ROM?

hotmail attachment w/ IE

hi,
is it possible to save hotmail attachments using IE on pocketpc? Specifically i am using xda2i
I can see there are attachments on an email, but no option to view/save.
If not, do any other browsers allow this?
thanks.
An alternative I use is to download hotmail directly into pocket outlook using HTTPMail Provider. Outlook normally only allows you to create POP3 and IMAP4 accounts. This adds HTTP accounts too (e.g. Hotmail/ MSN) so you don't have to use IE at all to view and download hotmail emails and attachments.
Downloads then occur as per your pocket outlook prefs. You can find the software at:-
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=9539
Hope that helps.

Calendar attachments in Windows Mobile 6

Is there a way to enable outlook to store calendar attachments just like it stores email attachments? Whenever I get invited to something, my PC outlook will have the attachments but my phone won't have it there.
If I don't accept the appointment and keep it in my inbox, my phone WILL have access to the attachments.
Any ideas?
Wow. I'd have thought that SOMEBODY else had a fix or atleast noticed this.

OutSync - Facebook profile pics for Outlook contacts

I found this amazing application
The following text is taken from it's web site.
http://www.melsam.com/outsync/default.aspx
OutSync is a free Windows application that syncs photos of your Facebook friends with matching contacts in Microsoft Outlook. It allows you to select which contacts are updated. So you can update all contacts at once or just a few at a time.
The main benefit of OutSync is for Windows Mobile users. Updated contacts are automatically synced with Windows Mobile devices by Exchange server or ActiveSync. Thus new and fun photos appear during calls and other places where contacts are used.
OutSync is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Server 2003. It requires Outlook 2003 or 2007.
Sorry for reviving this post, guys. But Skydrive is being a damn cow at the moment, i can't login nor do a thing on it since three days. Can please someone post a mirror link to that app here, or online at a fileshare site?
[deleted post]
Please.
I am merely asking for a mirror of the file. Why? because I can't download from Skydrive (and the file, outsync.msi is only on skydrive) for a reason unknown. I'm very sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
So if anyone with the file in their computer could please upload that file anywhere else than skydrive, please help me out.
Your message wasn't clear enough.
I attached the file for you
Thanks a lot!
It's good to have people like you around here.
It doesn't work for me.
It closes everytime I try to open it and starts the windows error report.
Any idea?

about mobile hotmail how to download more than 2M attachment

hi All,
mobile hotmail how to download more than 2M attachment? please help. thanks advance.
What are you trying to do? I assume use Messaging (pocket outlook) to get your hotmail account?
Can you use PIE (pocket internet explorer) and go to the hotmail website, and download from there?
Not sure what the question is, but I have no problems downloading attachments and saving them to my SD card. The only thing is that you get the message that the attachments will download next time you check your mail, so just use Send & Receive again. I had large pictures sent to my Hotmail that I checked through Windows Live on my JasJar - saved without any problems.

Exchange email account in HD2

Hi,
I created an outlook email account in my HD2 to synch with my exchange server email. sync is running ok, but I can read the message in plain text format only not HTML. When I configured the account I chose HTML but once you make your first sync, it changes to Plain Text and it is grey out so that you can not change it!!!
any idea how can I download the emails in HTML format?
btw, if you create a POP3 account, then you can read HTML but the sync doesn't work the way the active sync do...

Tamer

It is a setting in the email sync. You can do it from WM or from desktop (if you activesync to a desktop.
On HD2, it is not easy to get there: Settings -> Wireless Controls -> Microsoft Direct Push (click the words, not the switch) -> Menu -> Configure Server -> Next and you are about there.
Exchange 2003 or 2007
Full HTML email sync is only available if you use exchange server 2007 or 2010.
Thanks for the information Woffel.
and Alex, thanks for your help, but that only works if you sync with your PC not with exchange server.
I found some threads in the internet saying it is a bug in MS active sync software and it is been there for years.

Why? I am usually syncing with Exchange over HSDPA, although I also sync to Exchange via PC. However, my setting (for mail, contact etc) is "with Exchange Server".

probably you have exchange server 2007 or 2010. Do you know what is the version of exchange server that your mail server uses?
Your are right. It is Exchange 2007.
attachment problem
I have other problem, my outlook can't sync (download) attament - phone writes me that attachment will be downloaded in new "send/receive" but it isn't.
Settings of outlook client seems to be OK - "donwload size limit=> entire message; checked options Ïnclude attachment", without restriction of size. I'm using Exchange 2007 with "default policy" with settings checked "allow attachments to be downloaded to the device.
And for more info i can tell you, that with my old kaiser(WM6.1) it worked succesfully. All users with iphone have not problems with their outlooks too - so it seems, that exchange server setting is OK.
Help me pls, i can't live without attachment .
When you get a mail with attachments, don't you get the links in the mail header? Click it and you'll get the attachment.
Or do you want it already downloaded before you open the mail?

Thanks for the reply..
I dont see any option to enable full download of emails. Its my Yahoo account. However i think i found the problem.
I think its the account im sending the attachment from.
I logged in to my XX yahoo email on my pc and sent me attachment. HTC doesn't pick it up. The i logged into my AA yahoo email and sent myself same attachment and it picks it up.
I noticed that on XX account I have a stationery enabled (background on outgoing emails) so when i sent myself emails from here I see the background but no attachment.
I took off stationery and resent attachment and now i see it on HTC HD2!!
Thanks!
I think it's a certificate problem. I couldn't download attachments when synchronizing my HD2 with Exchange 2007 too. You should get root certificate from your adminstrator or, if you can access your server, start mmc, add new snap in (choose Certificates), find your company exchange certificate, export it and send it to your phone. When you tap on the certificate file on HD2 it will be installed as root certificate. Now you should be able to download attachments properly.

Did you read post#3? In an Exchange activesync push mail connection, HTML mail is only available to Exchange 2007 and later (although you can have HTML mail if you use a POP3 connection to your Exchange 2003 server).
hi alex,
the problem is fixed. The problem is version of exchange server 2003.
thnx...
