Has anyone got the flash 3.1 and opera beta 1938 working on the Wizard? It seems pretty straight forward and it's been installed on similar devices. I'm running TNT beta 20273 pro. I installed opera and flash to the SD. Here is the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401643

I get the same results on youtube.
Doesn't work unless you have opera installed
on main memory. Also install opera first, then flash 7, then flash lite 3.1 and all have to be installed in that order and all on main memory. Make sure you clean up old installs first. For me, it isn't even worth it. It's laggy and I hate having no memory space. I just use skyfire for flash. Don't waste your time!
Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that. I too wouldn't like the trade-off, losing the main memory for laggy video. Maybe someone will figure a way to get it into SD.
I reed something about that
On some thread on development and hacking about this new flash 3.1 said that everything need to be installed on the same place SD or MAIN MEMORY, I think i missed the flash 7... so i will try it again... but in MiniSD.
I really miss to watch streaming like in WM6.
Wait Wait i think i have reed it on a PPC forum but in spanish let me search the info i will post it right here.
Yeah, I tried all that including the new 2181 version of Opera. It doesn't work on the SD card. I can't afford the storage space on the main. Oh well it would probably be choppy video anyway.
Yeah, even the lastest version (build 2181) is choppy even on EDGE or Wi-Fi networks. If you're in the U.S., there's always Skyfire for flash. It's pretty good too. But that's all it's good for, for now...
I've tried skyfire a few times. I'm not really impressed so far. I've been getting the latest betas too. There is just something about it that isn't as polished Opera. Yes I know it's only on the 3rd beta. It is just my personal prefs.

Just thought I'd note that The HTC Today plugin and the PocketCM and CMKeyboard can all be installed separately. You don't need them in the ROM.

I would suggest rebuild your own ROM. I use whiterat ROM as that is the one that is most stable in my phone, or jaguar was good in my phone too. Rip it with core kitchen, and add the packages u like, and enjoy...

try NBD 8.3.....BEST ROM EVER IMHO.
What I've tried so far
NBD 9.0 - Very flaky -- many hangs, but beautiful
NBD 9.1 - Much better than 9.0, but, still some hangs. Java did not work with gmail applet (after installing, it would immediately exit whenever you try to run java)
NBD 8.3 - Java hanging issue.
SeeNoEvil - Does not have streaming media, has old HTC-X, no HTC Today thingie, but I love CoolCamera.
Mobile 6 2a - Seems stable, but no HTC Today thingie, or other fun aps.
OCTAIVOI's -- Things mostly work -- same java issue as NBD 9.1. Gmail does something weird to the java machine. -- since that's the only thing I use java for, it's a big deal.
WRCX3 -
And, I've discovered that these are the killer apps that I love:
1-Calc - I typically install rdcalc, but never use it to it's full potential -- 1-Calc is pretty sweet
HTC Today Thingie - I love this launcher -- lets me use my finger. I also like the Contacts & weather
HTC X
Streaming Media
I'm going to keep editing this post as I test things
But, now that I've gotten a taste, I want pieces of everything . . .
I think it may be time to cook a rom!
Where can I look to get started with a ROM kitchen? Last time I did it, it was with my original XDA, and Lumpi Stefan's kitchen -- which was all web based.
Can someone point me to a tutorial on how to get started with a WM6 kitchen?
Java Wierdness
Seems like something has permanantly damaged java -- I go back to the T-Mobile 2.26, then up to any package, and java doesn't work.

HTC youTube is nice
but available memory is low!only 16.29 mb fresh booted.
Also Network time and time zone synchronization are not working.
Jbled Java is not function.
Many bugs need to be fixed.
Basically, it is useless ROM
got a problem: When Starting Opera mobile, touchflo is closing, sometimes it starts automatically new and closes Opera and sometimes Opera works and touchflo stays disabled!

I'm not trying to start anything with anybody, but saw this post and have seen it in my threads before.
I know how it feels to spend countless hours cooking and then getting one of theses.
Folks,
This is one of the main reason why I'm retiring after my current release.
Every cook spends a lot of their personal time creating a rom for users to enjoy.
There is no perfect rom, creating or wanting to create a perfect rom is like a pipe dream.
After seven releases I still have not been able to create the perfect rom.
Every rom has issues, but as long as the developer is working on fixing it, we the users should give them some time.
Let them know what's wrong with their rom and let them resolve the issues.
If for some strange reason they are not willing to fix it then making comments of this nature would make sense.
Main point,
Try the roms, post your review, but please try to use words other than worthless.
Thanks,

Agreed with tony. Cooking isn't an easy job and I know this. Just to master the porting and some basic skills, you need quite sometimes. Then every build has their own issues. We should appricate someone cooked a rom for us because it take alot of work and time (for free). As long as he the cook providing support, it's should be ok. Otherwise, don't use the rom.

Hi ttran001
Thanks
That was actualy what I tought when reading the post "why botter cooking"
I bought my herald only so I could use it for cooking.. this is my hobby and I cook for 5 other devices too and the main purpose of this rom is to show that all of the apps from Opal can work on other devices.
I don't want to retire from cooking but it might happen if there is no need for my roms.
but I wan't let this coment stop me because I know there are problems and always will be bugs.
even M$ and HTC are to blame for some of the bugs (sometimes all the bugs)

he didnt include a splash screen so you keep your previous one
I've been using ttran's OTP7 series roms, so that explains the splash screen.
BTW - I'm loving some aspects of this ROM. The HTC YouTube is so much nicer than the YouTubePlayer that I had installed before. And the Opera browser - although a bit much for the Herald to handle - is pretty sweet too. HTC YouTube even plays pretty well over T-Mo's Edge network.
Question - do you need to have the Opera browser installed to get HTC YouTube to work? Or would it work with OperaMini as the browser? Just curious.
I gotta say, sometimes the phone gets real slow and laggy and I have to soft reset. Also I get a Windows Media unknown error 0x8000FFFF when I try to play a video taken with the phone camera (while in the viewer).
Hello,
It seems i keep hitting the same problem when ever I try to access a stream video with my TD2.
For example whenever I try to view online news or other such streams I keep getting error messages like (“Flash player not installed” or “Java Script not enabled”) although I installed Macromedia Flash player ActiveX and ofc I have enabled Java – so what is the problem ??
Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
Here are some sites that I can’t use (ignore the language just click the picture and c if it works)
1.
Videonews.ro
2.
http://85.9.12.243/a3/watch3.php?year=2009&month=5&day=22&show=bizbazar - just click on any of the dates of the show and it should start (at least it does on the PC but on the phone it gives an error)
thank you for any advice
wait for opera turbo it will solve this problem
or use this version of opera
http://rapidshare.com/files/234045416/Opera_Flash.rar
and then do this tweaks on registry
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3757018&postcount=59
(if you don't have program for registry use this free....DownLoad version: Pocket PC 2002/2003)
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
I hope i helped!
i will try u`r advice tomorrow and let u know how it turned out
thx a lot for u`r time.
p.s. what is opera turbo and when will it come out ?
ty
opera turbo is in beta. Search youtube for it and you ll see . its new technology of opera
i have installed the new opera and besides that it works pretty bad compared with the one i had before, the videos still don`t work (
rly am i doing smt wrong ? do I need any other addons or smt ?
do i need to reinstall the PC version of FP ?
any hints would be great.
thx
(did i had to uninstall the old opera first, the 1 that came with the device first ? cuz i didn`t... )
and one more thing, if i want the "old' opera back how can I uninstall this new vers as it does not appear in the 'remove programs' - this would not be so important if the streaming videos would work but since they don`t ...
ok new info on the new opera: it much smarter then the original one but also much slower in every way (truth is i like it better)
BUT i still can`t look at the damn streaming videos - still getting the message ' you need to install Flash Player to watch this video'
what can i do ?
did you uninstall all other flash addons you installed before? it should work dunno. else wait for next version of opera
does not work, i have reinstalled FP7 and no change, after that i uninstalled FP7 and added Flash Lite 2.1 - and still not working
did any1 fix this problems or is it just my device ??
I can't get the new version of skyfire working on my uni with this rom: 2009.12.08: ROM - Tomal's v12/v10] [WM65 Build 28008/23089/21872
Here I'm asked if I can try with a stock rom, which I guess is the default rom, but I can't really do this.
So: does anyone with this hack or without it, have any problem with the new skyfire (except memory usage if there is anything else openned) ?

well i did used skyfire 1.5 on uni but ot lags so much and it need more ram in compared to v 1.0... And as you said you are running tomal's v12 which also uses lots of ram... so try to run it in vanilla rom and see... or if you want i can confirm and give the feed back... well when i used i didn't find any other issues other than program memory...
Yeah thank you, it's what I wanted to know. I will stick to 1.1 then, I don't want to spend time hard reseting again to probably find once again that it doesn't change my problem.
I am running SkyFire 1.5 for 2 months now, without problems. I'm using Tomal's 8.5 ROM (only running Elecont Launcher on the today screen, all other plugins switched off).
I use Opera mobile 9.5 and works great!
Sorry if this has been solved before with ICS, but I'm stumped. I had a Moto Triumph before this. It had Gingerbread, and I installed CM7 onto it. Rooted, overclocked, the whole nine yards. I tried to install Flash from Play but it said it's not supported in my country (WTF, thanks, Adobe!) So I found an APK elsewhere and installed it. Bam! Flash works in Dolphin Browser. It's pretty slow, but it works.
Now, I did the same thing for my Photon Q and its preinstalled ICS. Any browser I try, including Opera Mini Next, Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin Browser and the default Android browser, I just get a blue cube icon where the flash object should be. I downloaded an app from Play that runs .SWF files and it displays the exact same blue cube.
Is there a workaround that anyone is aware of? If Adobe doesn't start supporting mobile devices, I think we'll be seeing Flash replaced before very long. By an open standard.
Officially Adobe has stopped supporting Flash via mobile going forward....but I believe you can still download/install the apk for whatever the last released version for each Android version via this link (you'll have to scroll down to where it lists 'Flash player for Android 4.0 archives' and grab the one at the top of that list in the case of the Q):
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_Flash_Player_versions_for_developers
And that worked perfectly. Plays nice and smooth, too. Thanks a ton!

You're quite welcome....its not often I'm in a position to be able to help someone rather than being one of the ones asking questions but I was prepared on that one, I read that elsewhere and bookmarked it in my Photon Q folder for later use myself when I get one. I almost did this past weekend but decided to hold off still for now....then when I read in one of the other threads that Roam Control isn't (at least currently) working on it, that's kind of a deal breaker for me until that's fixed. Forcing roaming while at work is just shy of an absolute must unfortunately. :/
