Very cheap samsung omnia phone? - General Topics

i wonder whether this website is real or just a scam who want to take our money?if anyone know please update..
www.mobilephone2world.com

looks like a complete scam to me - if you send money, I'll be amazed if you ever see a phone.

Surley the fact that the email address is a yahoo account tells you all you need to know.

Oh my days, have you seen the spelling and errors on the "about" page?

Order from these cowboys at your own, very stupid, risk!
edit: i've just pushed an order to "ordering" stage and you can pay by credit card so, you could always do this and cancel the transaction via your credit card company if you didn't receive the phone?

I did email them and quickreply though..but the person doesnt answer my question..he asked me back hom many unit i want to order..i kept emailing him and in each mail he also kept asking me how many unit i want to order without answering my question.that is strange

was the email an exact copy each time? Maybe it was an auto-respond agent.
Either way, dont waste your time mate.

no, it wasnt exact copy, but at the end he always ask me how many unit i want to order 0_0

I'm confident that I will regret this, but I just ordered a phone from them. Let's see what happens. I'm tired of waiting for AT&T to bring me my BOLD And I can always call my credit card company in a minute, they protect consumers.

HAHAHA wow dude... Their customer service is really 555-555-1212? If you dial (your area code)-555-1212 it's the same as dialing 411, no 555 number is ever available in the United States. Surely a scam, and now you'll have to go through the hassle of filling out a dispute form and sending it back to your credit card company... I wouldn't have wasted my time.

Ahem, I could say the same to you, you've been rude to everyone who asks a question non-HTC-related. I'm aware the Xperia is produced by HTC, and the original poster simply asked "Is this website a scam?" about a site that sells Xperia X1's for like $350. That's completely HTC related if you ask me, get off your high horse.

Hi All,
A flame forum will not be available for the following reasons:
- it's not a HTC made product.
- we don't have room, server capacity or moderating capacity to allow non HTC phones.
We don't accept non HTC phones because:
- we're an HTC forum.
- we don't have room, server capacity or moderating capacity to allow non HTC phones.
The site is "incorrectly" named because:
- years ago when we started this site we did not know xda phones were (at that point only) made by HTC.
- we could not foresee that other layers might come to this market.
- we could not foresee that HTC would start it's own brand.
We will not at this point in time open a forum for the Flame, you're free to discuss the flame in the general forum.
Best regards,
Flar

Hard to comment when you dont expand (pardon the pun) on your experience
I too have purchased from them and find them very helpful.
When i asked if the phone could be delivered to my work address if it was early or home address if it was late, it unexpectedly did come to my work address!
Very happy!
Expansys technical support
I guess the guy bought an Expansys branded (MWG) phone.
Expansys is very good at selling equipment and customer services related to sales in general but technical support for products they launch themselves is another matter. But I guess they are learning in the process. Very few "voluntary" support staff respond to enquiries on their forum and it takes a long time for the answer to really help you. But from what I read here HTC is not much better otherwise we would not need the help of all you guys.

Unfortunately they are "learning" the wrong way, i.e. in favour of profit over users. MWg support is a prime example - when they first launched their own products under the Ubiquio brand there was regular dialogue on the forums between customers, the Expansys/Ubiquio product managers, and even the TFW engineers, as well as actively developed firmware. Since the move to MWg, that's pretty much all dried up, and the whole of eXpansys' official forum support is done by one, very busy, employee (in addition to a few volunteer helpers who answer general questions).
On the other hand, that's still a lot more than you get from most other on-line retailers.
I use eXpansys sometimes for small purchases. Never had a problem.
It seems though from various things I've heard they are very good when everything is going right. When something goes wrong however....oh dear!
Just some random person with a grudge trying to take down a company. Woooohooooo! You fail!
I have purchased several items from them with no problems - they bent over backwards to get my diamond to me before i went on hols
Not the best
I asked a qu on the forum; was not even acknowledged.
I also asked a qu about getting my USB port fixed via their service; I noticed I had a few missed calls one night which could have been them, but I never received an email reply...

You never get response from them, thats my experience too.
You get less information how things will get handled when you deal with Expansys.
Good or bad, have seen other companies who take customer care serious.
Thats the point.
My first order went perfect from them, my next one was not what i did order. then the **** begins.

stay away from fastgsm.com

I paid my $20 via paypal. Their automated system happily accepted my payment then promply complained that my (paypal verified) email had not been verified and that I should follow instructions in the email they had sent.
I never received any such email. Not in regular, junk, spamassassin folders. This is my 100% reliable email address that never loses an email. I promply filed a complaint with paypal. Next day their response was that I did not respond to the email (that I never got) so they activated it manually but I have already lost confidence and want my money back. So far they have refused to offer me a refund so I am continuing to fight it on paypal.
My advice is to stay away!
Hi,
1. we do use Google Premium (Paid) services to send out the emails. It is most reliable service in the market.
2. You can any time ask for verification via separate email.
3. We never refuse to make refund if credit not used
Your situation mostly happens when you use stolen PayPal and can not control PayPal primary email. Or maybe you are competitor who try to damage reputation - you have 2 posts only so you do not have any reputation.

Hello, FastGSM crew is 100% trustable. They make unique solutions on the market (many many world firsts) and for many models only they can unlock them (specially usa/canada and latin/central america models). They helped to a lot of users there to unlock their phones including me - Me personally did unlocked around 25 phones with them.

guess so.. Wah Wai Electronics or something similar is their paypal name.
To unlock your phone, call your provider customer service and say politely "I would like to have my phone unlocked. Can you please provide me the code?" and viola - you have your code in the mail in about 3-7 days. Even if you are on the contract, they will get it to you in anyway. Use google people.
PS: I unlocked my Nokia while being on the contract, on the 5th month

[Q] Would you invest on somthing like this ?

Hi all,
1st of all, i got to say, nice forum you got here.
now, i like to share somthing i have noticed by one of the other forum online...
i have seen one auction on ebay that let me think to risk my money. and the auction is :
MOD EDIT: NO EBAY LINKS ALLOWED
now, my question for you guys, whould you try to take a risk on somthing like that, or just to leave it alone and to look for other investments...
this auction is look atractive for me because of it's price. - if this game is, let's say "nice", not good, perfect, or somthing around, but "nice", for 5000$ and production costs (around 10000$) and total of 15,000$ i need only let's say 28,000 sales of the game for 0.99$ to get my money back after all commitions.
so it's sounds like a low risk inventment.
the only thing i'm scared of, is this guy has no feedback.
what do you say ?
worth the risk ?
how can i know it's not a scam ???
Well, trying not to be too cynical about all of this, the ebay ad is from someone in Israel, you've suggested you're from Israel, so why not contact the seller, it should be easy for you in particular to do that I would imagine, and find out how much of a scam it really is.
Massive scam I would imagine.
The sort of thing someone creates, then joins forums all over the interweb making random posts on the end of old threads to make it appear that they're not a new member, then posting a link to the ad hoping someone will be stupid enough to make a bid.
It's amazing what you find when you google "Hi all, 1st of all, i got to say, nice forum you got here"
lol
scam it's not, but try to make a living... lol

So the ebay ad is indeed yours?
Lets see, on one forum you claim to be from Brooklyn NY, on here you've suggested you're in Israel (same location as the ebay seller), and on another forum you've been permanently banned.
Um, no, i would not invest.
still i need to advertise it no ?
if people will know it's me so what's the point ?

through deception? by claiming the ebay ad isn't you? no of course not.
the ad is for an "idea"
that could be "i've got an idea for a flying toasters vertical shooter game, there you go, you've been given my idea, thanks for the $5000"
I wouldn't call it a scam since it says "idea", but you're right could be anything between a paragraph of text and a pretty handdrawn sketch on a Burger King napkin...

The scam is the claim that he "found" the ad on ebay when he is actually the seller.

It is a legit company and all. I bought my keyboard cover for the macbook from them on ebay and they have some video reviews of it on youtube. A lot of user reviews (who got it for free), so I'm not surprised that they are giving it away to get a review in return.
Ask him for a phone number or refer him to the user who recently made a video of the Casemate Pop case in the accessory section.

How do you expect them to email you when you don't allow it via your profile?
Even with 0 feedback, they have to start somewhere. If you don't want to give them your address, then try to get a temporary PO Box, business address, or something similar. It can't really be a scam if you're only going to give them your name and address (well, none that I have heard of yet using just those two information).

And you seem pretty open to a stranger asking for your name and address. Sorry but this is the internet, gotta be cautious.
If you really need a case, I'd recommend the Case-Mate Pop case. There's a coupon in the Pop thread that reduces it to $27
I think there's a marketplace they can post in instead off spamming forum members.

How'd you get that idea? If you work somewhere you could use that address. Oh and I know it's the internet, what do you think I'm using right now? Also, what's too much work? Registering on a forum? If i worked for a company, I wouldn't be suspicious by mass emailing users of a forum telling them to send me their addresses. It's just not very trustworthy.
It's the internet, people can pose as other people. Again, this is just for a free case, you shouldn't have to go through a WHOLE hassle process just to verify something. They could just went to the market place or the general forum and make a general post in regards for people to test out their product.
Approaching users of a forum via Private Message is not a good practice. It's suspicious. Especially when they never made any posts or contributed to XDA. They have no recognition around this community.
I could easily make a spoof account and say im a representative from Case-Mate and that I want you to test a upcoming case that we haven't announced. I want you to test our Case-Mate Barely There case before we announce it.
Would you easily just give someone your address? It could be a friend of yours who simply hates you and wants your address. It's not a smart idea to be so free to give your address away.
Ordering something online? Yeah. If they're a massive corporation and its something I can trust, I have no fear of giving my address away. To a stranger? not happening.

I understand why it seems shady, didn't I say that in my previous post? *Looks back* Why yes I did. So no need to waste your time to explain it. Geez.
Anyways, I provided information for the OP to go by. So that's that. It's his choice to make anyways. If you consider a quick 2 minute search such a hassle, then okay whatever, that's just you.
In reply to the suspiciousness regarding the method of contact. I apologize if it made anyone feel uncomfortable. Additionally, I didn't mass spam anyone. I sought through the entire forum and selected around 10 individuals who I felt would contribute a worthy review to the community. I could post my own review of the product but that doesn't carry as much credit does it?
Again, I apologize for this chosen method of contact. However, you won't have to worry about that method anymore in the future. We are setting up our official review request option on our new Website, and we will allow users (such as yourselves) to come and request to review one of our products if you like. But of course, we will only select a number of reviewers per week and will include only those individuals we feel will truly post a worth while review for others to view.
And I assure you all that I will be contributing much more to this community from here on out.
Well, we will see if its a scam, If he wanted my address he can easily look that up on the web. (note sarcasm)
doesn't sound like a scam, just a company trying to get xda publicity for their product by sending out a few free ones. op has over 2k messages to his name, so has some reputation here. you should actually be kinda honoured. if in doubt, set up a new email address and contact them asking for a phone #.

Is this fake? Or i really won?
If you entered a contest I would say it's a possibility it's legit. If you did not enter anything, it is definitely a scam.
But...did you read the terms and conditions?

And this guy is for real because in the company site his contact is:

Liam Maguire, Creative Sales
Email | Tel +44 (0) 20 8267 5732
Could anyone confirm me this?
Looks legit to me...
http://www.192.com/business/tedding...comp/?sk=f46a9ab9-af0f-40ac-a5ad-13d56a21368c
And the website matches the email address too. I'd say congratulations are in order. If you're still unsure, forward the email to me and I'll claim it
Let us know if it does prove to be real, but if it's not then it's a scam I'd fall for!

But you said you already sent them your address. If that is the case you might be SOL. They will look for any reason not to send you the $700 prize, because technically if you aren't a resident of those countries you weren't supposed to enter. I do hope you get your phone though. Congratulations and good luck to you!
