Raphael Official Extended Battery fit our diamond? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Accessories

Hi guys, just wonder does raphael extended battery fit htc diamond?
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=172018
Anyone know?

it would seem reasonable that it might - it depends on whether the fixing for the back cover is different on the Touch Pro. One could reasonably expect it to be - might have provision for difference in case caused by things like mem card slot etc.
Saying that though, that pic on the website is actually of the Diamond extended battery, so it might look nothing like that and be obviously different!

Yes it does. I did a comparison with my battery and the diamond extended battery kit, and it's the same size.

They are the same battery E270, but need to buy alongwith the battery cover in order to fit the battery onto Touch Diamond.

The point is not about the battery fitting - thats certain as the 1340Mah battery for the Diamond is basically the standard battery in the Raphael. The question is, does the back cover fit? Easy way to answer this is if someone has access to both can see if the back covers are interchangeable (would need to be done without the battery in the phone!).

I would say that the 1800MAh battery for the Pro fits the extended battery cover BP270 (sold with the 1340 MAh battery) for the Diamond. There will be no extra cover for the 1800MAh battery for the Diamond and the cover for the Pro doesn't fit the Diamond.

So you are saying that the 1800mAh battery of the HTC Diamond Pro can be putted in the HTC Diamond with the cover of BP E270 ?
If it is true, that will be so nice !

any news ?

don be happy too fast... there used to be report of 1800mAh (compatible battery) blocking the GPS antenna Signal causing no GPS signal... does the 1800mAh extended battery of Pro have the same effect for Diamond as well?

It is not the battery which block the GPS signal but the battery cover.

I think we can´t use the extended battery from the raphael....
Because on the HTC webshop http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/de/p_htc_item.aspx?i=172018&p=tech
They sell the HTC Touch Pro Extended Battery incl Cover BP E272 (1800 mAh, Black/Blister)!!
I think its still bigger then the 1340mAh Battery because that new cover (BPE272) for the Touch Pro!!
And the guys here said that the Battery Cover from the Touch Pro don´t fit on the Diamond
==> that mean we can´t use it on the Diamond (maybe without back cover but not a slution for me )
Bad........

I expect that the new one will be a 1340 mAh version! Same like the MDA Vario IV, but that's still not certain.
1340mAh
The HTC Touch Diamond official battery is at present the BA S270 with 900mAh and the BP E270 battery is of the HTC Touch Pro (aka. Raphael) and has 1340mAh.
Since the two devices have the same dimensions barring the thickness the BP E270 is also compatible with the Diamond, but it will require what's named a 'blister' battery cover - which is basically adds a little more depth to the phone.
Cannot wait myself for an extended battery as I use my Diamond like a power-hog at the moment.

Maybe this one: HTC Touch Extended Life Battery - 1500 mAh is available, but I'm not sure it works on the Diamond but it's a battery for the Touch so i think it is possible...

You can visually see it in the pre-order link. Not to mention the extra back cover. If it was the same size there wouldn't be a need for the secondary cover.

1340 mAh Battery availible in Germany

Hey folks, i just received a email that expansis has shipped out my 1340 mAh battery incl a new cover. This could mean that the battery is finally availiable in germany! looking forward to test it!
is this battery shipped with the backside cover? If yes, is this cover fitting on a O2 XDA diamond?
Hi! I own a o2 XDA Diamond, and yes it is shipping with a fitting backside cover! Here is the link to expansis, remember this is no ad:
http://www.expansys.ch/p.aspx?i=166204
that cover wount fit on your xda diamond!
check this post to compare the backsides: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2605740&postcount=19
Sad to hear this man... has anyone a link to a product 1340mAh or 1700 mAh with a cover that fits my GERMAN VERSION of the XDA Diamond from o2?
I will receive my battery incl. cover the next days, email's out for me as well. I am curious to see, what is different. I just hope, that one can still use it...
Anyone already tried?
Also got an email from Expansys today, should receive mine on Monday .
have been using the offical 1340mAh battery for 2 weeks now.
it gives new life to my Diamond, I bought a Samsung Omnia because of its big battery and were going to sell my Diamond. But then I found Omnia is not as easy to use (only its camera is better than Diamond). I bought the battery before I sold my phone, and I end up sell the Omnia.
How much thicker does the Diamond get with the 1340mAh battery?
I wonder it is same as Touch Pro since they share the same battery. Why not trying Mugen 1000 mAh standard size battery? It really improves and worth trying if you still prefer slim size of Diamond.
if i remember correctly, the extended battery is +3mm and the original size is 11mm so that makes it 14mm. while the Touch pro is 18mm.
hey. received my ext. battery today.
german o2 xda owners: hands off! it doesn't work in our phone. i mean, it works, but you won't be able to put your cover on. it doesn't fit.
anyone in germany with original diamond in need for ext. battery? 40€ incl shipping to germany
and yes, it makes the "original" diamond around 3mm thicker!
I thought O2 Germany was going to release an expanded battery itself....what happened to that project ? They said "end of August"

yes, the new 1340mAh battery is indeed the same one used by the Touch Pro.
How much help would the extra 100mAh do? not much I guess.
I also have the o2 XDA Diamond (should be with me this week) and was looking for another battery - found a few for the for the HTC but now I know the backs are different this will be hard - I originally thought of ebay - but having second thoughts now
Has anyone got a link for the extended battery and back for the O2 version of this phone please
In Germany I found some threads before the following link for the extended battery for the XDA Diamond:
http://www.expansys.de/p.aspx?i=173907
But for me it's too expensive, too.
and that is not the original extended battery. it's thicker than the 3mm people talked about. the phone looks hideous with those inofficial extended batteries.

[BATT] [27-03-2009] 1800 mAh MDA Compact IV with pictures - not official one

All,
I managed to source a non-T-Mobile extended battery and cover for my Compact IV. I believe the original costs in the region of £40-£60 (for a 1340 mAh).
I've just purchased at 1800 mAh one for about £12 GBP ($18 USD).
Up until now, I personally was finding it difficult to find a 'replica' extended battery for the Compact IV (different cover to the HTC Diamond of course).
Anyway I thought I'd post some pictures up if people wanted to see.
I won't post a link to where I got it because I haven't tested the performance of it (just received it 30 mins ago!).
My usage is pretty heavy where the original 900 mAh would barely last me 8 hours on a good day.
I will post back results later if anyone is interested.
[UPDATE 27-03-2009]
Well I've been using the battery for a few days and of course it is as expected far better than the original. I haven't tested it with any perfomance software tools, just real life usage.
Full charged at 8am, the battery would easily last me 48 hours. Over this period I had a data connection always on (Exchange and personal IMAP). Just for testing purposes, I had the GPS (Tomtom) running for an hour, browsed the internet for a total of about an hour, plus the general calls and SMSs made/received.
Just one little thing: I had to remove the sticker around the battery because the cover simply would not close, I instead used sticky labels to cover it and now it fits like a glove! I personally think the whole unit feels better in the palm of hand with the extra thickness.
Overall, so far, I am impressed with this battery.
cool, i'm interested to hear your feedback once you use it for a while. thanks for posting the pictures.
Sh500,
Please give us a link to where you bought the battery, I'm really need one!

I'm a bit concern about removing this sticker around the battery, would this effect the battery in anyway? Did the seller not test to see if the cover closes with this battery?

Sent D8LOM a private message.
This is the best cover design which i have seen
I also bought this same battery from the same supplier on e**y, and first day use already a vast improvement on the pathetic original. Fully charged from new this morning, 1 hour mp3 listening, plenty of emails, web-surfing, phone calls, etc and battery power has dropped by 3 bars, normally its virtually dead by now with the standard battery. I would consider myself a heavy user. The battery cover feels a bit plasticy (but seems strong enough) and as was said in the opening post you do need to peel the stickers off the battery to make the cover fit the phone (voiding any warranty for the battery) but for the price I think this is a winner. The extra-thick case feels a bit cumbersome at first but quickly got used to it. Overall so far so good and this is going to be used a lot when I am unsure when I can next get to a charger.
Hi,
Any updates on batery usage?
Can one of you measure the adittional size with new battery in mm or whole phone thicknes?
I would like to buy the same battery, but I have a dillema. I bought HTC original car phone holder, CU S170 witch looks like this: http://www.mobilesupplies.nl/holder-touch-diamond-s170-with-charger-pi-8691.html
I wonder, if phone with this 1800 mAH battery will fit to the holder
Also is there big diference between this 3rd party 1800mAH battery and HTC extendet 1340 mAH.

The thickness is a maximum of 16mm (tried to measure it with a ruler so not the most accurate!)
Yep I'm in the same situation with the car holder, I've got the same holder as you but one that mounts on the car vent. With the extended battery, your device will not fit the holder as there is no additional clearance on the holder.
I think it will be a while until someone manufactures a holder with additional clearance (perhaps a spring loaded back bit) to allow for such upgrades.
Ive been searching for another holder but the only ones that seem to do the job would be the universal 'gripper' ones - these are very ugly in my opinion but currently I don't have much choice! May submit a new post in the section.
I've been using my device for almost a week now and the battery life is consistently better than the original one. Even if I seriously abuse it running different things it would still last be close to 24 hours.
I can't comment on the 1340 mAh.
THIS CAR HOLDER MAY FIT:
http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/Holder/HTC+Touch Diamond-Brodit-Holder.asp
It seems like it has the extra clearance and in the description it states "this kit should accommodate all battery sizes". I wonder if any with a Brodit holder can confirm this? But looking at the pictures there seems like plenty of clearance.
Quite expensive though!

Thanks for reply,
I almost decided to by the original HTC extended battery, becouse of the thicknes, as I read it last about 50% more than original, so that should be bearible it's about two days Not compromizing looks of the phone that much!
Now there is still a issue with the car phone holder, becouse I realy like the holder I got, you can use it in horizontal posittion as a vertical. And I like the build and aesthetic look of it.
There is a small bumps on it, to fit the phone better, maybe if I remove them I can fit my phone with HTC extendet battery in it. Or maybe it would fit anyways without remowing them (picture attached)
As I read, the phone with original battery 900 mAH is 11.85 mm thick, and with extendet 1340 mAH battery is 14.40 mm thick.
So would be nice, if someone could post feedback with original HTC car phone holder, and HTC extendet battery. DOES IT FIT OR NOT

Like i said, I have the same mount as you and there doesn't seem like extra clearance behind. I would be surprised if the 1340 battery would fit even with the extra bit taken off, you need about 3mm extra. Plus you dont want it too tight so as it would scrape against the edges everytime you took the phone in and out of the holder. But see if anyone else replies I guess.
I know Brodit do two specific holders for the Diamond, one for the 900mAh and another for the 1340 mAh.

I'd like to know this answer as well. I would assume the extended battery would make the device look as the size of the TouchPro.

It's difficult to judge the thickness of that pouch just from the picture. I still have my mate's Touch Pro with me and it is about 2-3 mm thicker than my MDA C4.

Is the Touch Pro 1340 mAh battery compatible with Diamond?

Hello,
I have bought an unofficial 1340 mAh battery from ebay. I am talking for this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1340mAh-Batte...5bcebfa&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=
It is announced for HTC Touch Pro. However, as far as know this battery should be absolutely compatible with Diamond. That is the reason, I ordered the battery. Unfortunately this one doesn't want to work with my device, in spite of the fact it fits perfectly and looks the same. Is there anyone who could confirm or reject my assertion that both batteries are equal? Up to now, I am pretty sure that I have had a bad luck with this cheap item
All the best to all of you!
any details about the battery?
the e bay link doesn't work.

Hi, I've just been in the mobile shop, and asked for an original Touch Pro battery (1340mAh) to try it in my Diamond... It fits good, but it's too thick - it can not be used with diamond's standard battery cover!!!
@dsixda - what did you mean that Pro's 1340mAh battery works in Diamond? How thick is your Pro's battery?
Is there any standard size battery for Diamond with more capacity than 900 mAh???
Do a search in this forum, there are multiple threads about the Diamond's 1340mah extended battery.
The official Diamond 1340mah extended battery comes with a new back cover.

question - biggest battery that fits in standard case

hi, what is the biggest battery / biggest capacity you can buy that you can use with the standard HTC case?
i would like to buy an original battery after reading peoples comments about GPS and excessive heat, and i dont want to make the phone any bigger.
the htc website has the 1100mah as a direct replacement. although is it really going to make much difference going from 900mah to 1100mah... what real world difference is it going to make? like 2 hours?
i think its strange how no-one knows this.
The move from 900 to 1100 would be very minimal.
Just get a 1340? It really doesn't make it too thick.
I ordered this one.... 1500maH....
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoce..._1_2?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1249321047&sr=8-2
It says I dont need a need back cover and it fits properly in existing space. Have not received it yet. I had to get it for the wife as I have moved on to the TD2 and she is using my TD now with the old batt which is on it's last legs....
Double post... sorry...
eskasi, let us know if it fits.
Thanks
I think 1340 mAh is the battery with most power you can get into a standard back case. I'm gonna order a 1800 in few days (http://www.mytrendyphone.se/shop/batteri-htc-touch-14547p.html) and that really needed a new back case, tho I don't think it will look too bad, will be easier to hold the phone and stuff.

has this arrived yet? mind giving us some feedback? looks good, ive got an ignito aswell
@Srem:
My English is not good so I can't give clear feedback - I hope that you can understand what I say:
1. The battery is bigger - must change the back cover ( included ). My diamond is more heavy and now I can take it more easier in my palm.
2. I can use Engery Rom nearly 4 days with new battery - or 6 days with new Cloudyfa's rom ( I've just tested with Phone function only )
3. Have no problem with GPS with new cover.
4. It isn't hot when do reset / hard-reset.
kinda new to modding of phones so just wondering if this will work with my phone or not, ive got the p3051
Hi everyone,
I found this battery, capacity is 1500 mAh and page says "Fits in existing space so no replacement door is needed", is there anyone using this battery. Or any else suggestion?
Battery Link
That battery will only fit the following ;
'For use with HTC Touch Diamond (Sprint)/Touch Pro/Fuze'

The HTC Touch Diamond Sprint is more rounder than HTC Touch Diamond.
By the way....
Does anyone knows if HTC Touch Diamond Battery size is the same for HTC Touch Diamond Sprint (or HTC Touch Diamond Pro) ??
Also, anyone who has bought the 1500 mAh can tell if the battery is good and if it fits on the HTC Diamond?
