Mine arrived this morning frmo Expansys...
Got to say - it is thinner than I thought. Another nice surprise is that it has an almost rubbery feel to it making the phone a lot more tactile to hold.
Some pics...

Thanks for sharing the nice photos. The extended battery looks not so thick but with 50% more battery. I wonder would cases maker provide case for Diamond with extended battery?
so thats the real deal from htc...not a copy
that looks beter than i thought
may treat myself to one of those next week
hummmm have to tried to take a photo with the new back on???
if so is there still the same issue with misty photos ?
Hi - yip - it is the official real deal one - not a copy. Straight from HTC (via Expansys).
The photo is the same as with the original case - there is still a piece of clear plastic in the case back. So, unless you remove this it will be the same.

Nice
Hope they will arrive Singapore soon. That's wonderful
would you mind posting the url - went to the site can not find the extra battery section - how much was it?
How is the GPS with the official battery, is it working ok?
GPS is just fine with official extended battery

Thanks for the pic!
From the pics, it looks like the back is not only matt, but also flat (no triangular gradients). Pls confirm this is true!
Yea.. also waiting for this to be out in SG.. if not perhaps in Malaysia, as i'm going over soon
for aussie users check this

Hi,
GPS appears unaffected - I used mine with TrackMe all day yesterday no problem.
The back is not flat - it still has the faceted diamond triangles. But, due to the mat rubberised finish it looks less angular.

To anyone who has the new back battery cover quick question before I buy.
Does the diamond still 'wobble' when placed on a flat surface? or are the facets level?
Thanks for any replies.

Yes, that's pretty much the same, I think.
has anyone found an extended battery in style with the MDA IV ?
I really like the "flat" backside of the MDA version and would hate to go back to the diamond shape.
Brodit active car holder
Hello,
Does anyone already have experience with this extended battery in combination with the Brodit Active carholder for the Diamond?
Before I decide to buy, I would like to make sure it will still fit in the holder.
Thanks.

Do you have a Compact IV already? If so, then the extended battery for the Compact IV (with the flat back) is due for release soon. Check the Expansys web site for details. This won't fit the Diamond though.

Would very very much doubt it. Brodit holders are made to quite exacting standards based on the size of the device being held. As the extended battery does alter this size, then I can't see it fitting.

hi all,
i've just bought this battery:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2200MAh-Extende...yZ130790QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
as soon as it arrives, i'll post some pics & impressions
if anyone has the same battery, please tell us how it performs!
greets
i'm a little concerned about the cover (as displayed in the picture) and how it covers the camera. i'll be interested in how that back cover fits. look forward to the pics...
Just arrived!
Extended Battery arrived today!
Looks good at first sight some use will tell if it's really good.
comes in a nice package, battery is sink wrapped itself (nice touch) and shows an hologram. back cover fits well, there's no slop. Thickness raises a bit, quite acceptable for a trade of longer run time Actually trinity don't feel bad in hand with extended cover..
it come with 60% remaining charge. I'll charge overnight whis evening..
here's some pics!
here's some other...
thanks for the pics... can you take a couple more pics looking from the top and bottom of your Trinity while face (screen) down? it appears to me that the new cover has nicely rounded contours and does not distract from the devices' overall appearance. thanks again.

Thanks for the great pics. Please let us know about the practical battery perfromance, compared to the stock 1500.
When testing various batteries made for Prophet, I found that the extended time batteries "leaked" faster than stock.
Can you install the BatteryStatus cab & let us see the comparison?
Thanks.
@dave: color matches my black trinity
@cortezzi: sorry, i couldn't make any pics with my digital camera, maybe next days i'll have some time to do them
@deviluck: since now, i used my trinity in many ways (pda, internet sharing, etc) so since i don't have a "regular" usage pattern, i can't tell exactly and scientifically how this battery performs. I could tell you my feeling about it, instead. I can tell that it lasts about 30% longer than original battery and it get less warm when using "connection sharing", the most battery demanding app i use. Actually, when i got new battery i also installed WM6 and since then i noticed battery stays much cooler with conn.sharing (this effect is also with the standard battery, so this effect is somewhat doubled by new battery and WM6).
Discharge curve seems to be more regular, while the original stays "full" (80-90%) region then it jump to "empty" region (30-20%) quite fast, this extended one seems to stay also in the middle region more time, showing a more "linear" discharge. Also, i can still use the famous silicon cover, it enlarges a bit but still usable
I think i'm still breaking in, so maybe performance will increase still a bit.
Everyone in the office just got new phones, most people chose D810 - Trinity. From the rate of broken styluses so far it seems we're going to need to order some soon. What's the best? Overall quality is more important than having a ballpoint. Search didn't turn up any obvious favorites. Links to sellers very much appreciated.
(Do NOT twist your original stylus. I wish I could say they snap like twigs but your average twig is considerably stronger!)
How the .... can you break them? they are really robust.
i need a white replacement also, i would like a original one if possible.
I lost one, and i want a spare stylus just in case.
could someone give some help on this, i just seem to find black one (and besides the color i dont know if they fit well..)
thanks

Twist... as if you are trying to unscrew the top of the stylus. Not hard to do unintentionally if you are getting it out one handed.
I have these ones that have a ball point pen built in as well. They seem solid (they actually feel more solid that the original), the tip is not overly hard and it means you have a pen handy as well for the times you need on.

However I don't know if he has then in white, best to check with the seller.
When I bought them they took about 4 days to get to me in Sydney.

I thought this as well when i originally looked at this thread. But yesterday I dropped my stylus, it landed on rocks from a height of around 4 foot and broke.
www.boxwave.com
We brought around 12 unit of Dopod D810, 11 unit black color and 1 white color.
Almost all black color D810 user broke their stylus.
Local Dopod service center allowed the stylus to be exchange within the warrenty period, but I believed Dopod won't re-engineer and redesign their stylus and will give us the same 'hightech' same quality stylus as replacement.
A simple drop from anywhere 1 feet above ground will break the stylus into two ..Arh! Is so frustrating .. Goash!

I was looking at the Wiki that's been setup for the Raphael, and I noticed there are two "editions" of the Raphael. One of them has the diamondesque battery cover with all the angles, and the other seems to have a rounder, smoother panel.
Here's the link (The first post is has the pictures, Front and Back)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael
Now, I REALLY like the Raphael. My brother's got one and I'll be getting one in a couple of weeks or so. BUT, I hate the back panel that I've seen on all the Raphaels todate, which is the Angular one.
This rounded cover appeals to me, but I haven't seen it anywhere else? Is this still an HTC Touch Pro? Is it an OEM version? Is it possible to buy that cover individually so I can replace a standard angular one?
Ciao
K
That looks like one of the rebrand back covers for the Diamond. I think the wiki author got it mixed up or something.
Its clearly a Diamond back cover because it has no place for a flash light.
Im guessing its a Tmobile styled rebrand because of the rounder top bottom and side.
But i do agree i prefer this smooth style of back plate over the diamondesc backplate.
Its a good bet that custom back panels will be developed at some point by a third party.

Damn good observation. I hadn't noticed that. So I can take solace in the fact that there's probably no lucky guy out there with a Touch Pro with that back panel, unless he exchanged it with a Diamond (I wonder if it would fit...).

Most probably too late to be of any real use, since the typically pouch life of a phone these days is 9 to 12 months max.
Eh yeah. It is a diamond panel.
Raphael says 3.2 megapixel
The other cover says 3.1

Looks like the O2 Branded Raphael is going to have the smooth back panel, but it doesn't look as nice as the Diamond one.
I'm interested to buy this, what do you guys think? For those who have this, any feedback, including its performance, would be appreciated. For the price, I can actually get two HTC or four Momax 900 mAh batteries, so I'm not sure if it's worth it. By the way, the cover is mat instead of glossy.
I found the pictures on Google.
Well, I really love the matt finishing and overall high quality. Thats the finishing that HTC should have given in the original batt.
With the old glossy surface, the pyramid peaks are very vulnerable to scratches, and you can see whitish tiny scratches on the peaks. With the ext-batt's rubbery surface, it's almost scratch proof. I've been using the batt for 4-5months and it's still perfect.
As for the thickness.. frankly, 14mm is still thinner than most PPCs out there.
Enough of aesthetics.. My phone now lasts >50% longer.. which is good for me. Thats abt 2 days with some MP3s. Used to be low end of every day, which makes no sense coz you know 15-20% batt won't get you through the whole of next day.
My advice is.. get the batt as a long term investment. If you're gonna sell the phone after 6mths, bear with the lousy original batt.
Hi MasK, thanks for the input, it's very helpful.
I think I will probably keep this phone till November or December, because by that time I can get a free phone from my provider, I will just sell that right away and the Diamond to get something new. Yeah the glossy finish is really easy to scratch, right now I've to use a case to protect it.
There is another option that I'm considering, it's the HTC battery bank BB G300. It's sightly more expensive, but I can keep it for future HTC phones or any phones that use the same connector. The only thing is I'm not a huge fan of carrying extra devices on me.
Extended battery
I decided to buy this battery when I one day ran out of battery at 7pm and desperately needed to send an email.
It certainly improved battery life by up to 50% and i don't think it makes the phone uglier. It's only a few mm thicker (i think 3mm) but only the fact that I get two days out of it with hotmail pushed and OWA pushed through emoze and average calling, texting emailing and surfing, should convince you to buy the battery.
The only problem I had was the HTC pouch that came with the phone. When you have the extended battery on, it won't fit your diamond any more, so I had to buy another one (a generic HTC leather pouch).
Hope it helps...
What I don't understand is, why do they only thicken the battery? They could also use the new space above and below the battery (looking straight onto the backside of the Diamond).

I think it's not as simple to produce a battery in some odd shape, they also have to consider about the compatibility with other models.
I got mine last week and it's great.
Mat finis is actually better than glossy - no fingerprints and I think it's going to be more durable in the long run.
As for battery life - now I can use my Diamond normally for two days, I had to charge the normal battery every day.

Having owned the extended battery (and getting rid of it). I have to say I didn't like at all, the phone just felt wrong. I appreciate it only make the phone a couple of mil thicker but trust me, it wrecks the feel of the phone. If the phone came with the exteneded battery to start of with, I may have been happy with it.
Another problem I had with it, was that the back was always coming loose and sliding forward when I tried to take the phone out of my pocket.
If you are having problems with the power of your phone, then by all means get the extended battery but I'm telling you the extended makes your phone feel like a brick and even worse, makes it feel cheap.
I tend to disagree, the phone feels much better in my hand (my opinion), I liked the thin looks of the phone with the original battery, but I could never hold it properly, it slipped from my hand a couple of times, lucky it fell on the carpet. Now I like it much better, plus having the added benefit of the extra power. At the end of the day, it's a question of choice, some of you might like it, some of you might not, I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here.
Mine has arrived, and I really like it. As said earlier, the matte finish is much better, and the small increase in size actually makes it easier/nicer to hold.
Any suggestions on a pouch or case that fits it?
The extended battery is actually the same thickness as the 900mAh battery with a silicon case ;-) Actually I normally use a Tek Sock pouch with my extended battery.. but for now, i just have a screen protector and will try for a few days without a pouch/case.

i got it for RS-3,000 inr< indian national rupee> wat abt others cost
just got mine yesterday.. however mine is the white colour version.. so still have the glossy back cover..
i check the battery status using powerguard and the battery voltage is always around 3.9V to 4V.. and the phone gets heat up v fast.. to more than 39 degree.. is my battery faulty or it is normal for the extended battery to behave like this??

im playing games.. but when using the original 900mAh battery, it wont get so warm.. with the extended battery, when it have around 80% battery left, the voltage is like 4.1V to 4.2V.. which i think is very high.. thats why causing the phone to heat up so much..
can anyone confirm with me that it is normal to get 4.1V to 4.2V when the battery life is more than 70%?? or is my battery faulty?? it will drop to 3.6V to 3.7V when battery life is less than 50%..
I've got mine today... I thinks it looks better than the glossy one and with the extra mAh...
Does anyone found a good case for the new package?

Hi All,
I am looking for extended battery as few more people here, but I find this one:

looks like is genuine product, is there anyone who using this battery and could give me more details about life and about dimensions and maybe photos to compare with standard one, many thanks.
It is original samsung kit. Bought it 10 minutes ago. Will see if it add me more on screen time. will report later

Will try to take some photos. I already have it, bought it from our local shop . Phone is heavier and a bit thicker. I could take some separately photos of back cover and battery. Don't have any camera to take photos then battery is in the phone.
edit: yeah this is legit, my previous suspicions are cleared now
I believe as is genuine product, it will remain same way as standard cover, handtec.co.uk have them in due: http://www.handtec.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s5-extended-battery-kit-eb-eg900bbegww.html, looks very promising as 3500 mAh was my ideal size battery for good 2 days use.

Good morning, thanks for photos, looks exactly I was hoping for and not too bulky, I ordering mine from amazon.de as is only £24, in uk is £35 , and still will be send to me from amazon.uk as I done with few items before
Nice, i paid £31
I don't know if it's my eyes messing with me, but it doesn't look that much thicker.
It's not very thick. But if you look at photo there is camera, you will see that camera isn't popped up anymore as it is in original back cover. With this battery cover camera is hidden in cover. Don't know if anyone understood what i said . Just compare camera area between original back cover with photo from my gallery.

I am glad some people find this battery useful as for me is good compromise between standard and brick battery zero lemon or similar, I just hope I could find rugged case this phone with this battery fit in, as I really like tech21 impact case - but no chance will fit in, but for outdoor I am using NewTrent rugged case and I finding one of best case available: http://www.amazon.com/New-Trent-Ultra-thin-Shockproof-Compatible/dp/B00KB9AWEE, and reviews from over 500 people saying same thing, only I hope I can somehow manage to accommodate S5 with small extended battery in to this case too
YES! Was waiting for the OEM Extended Battery with all the features retained. As someone in the States, get the hell on bringing this over Samsung!
FYI, just because it says Samsung doesn't mean its legit. Samsung doesn't have it listed, and if you call they have no idea about it.

I agree with you. However, it should still be close to the listed capacity since you can tell it is definitely larger than the OEM one. Now, that doesn't necessarily speak to its quality. But typically the fakes like to list capacities much higher than the actually produce.

I believe is genuine as is attached on Handtec website original OEM number from Samsung, customer service-support many times don't know about product manufacture offer, and could be is only for limited regions.
