orbit 2 using USB for modem on laptop - Touch Cruise General

Hi
I am trying to use my orbit 2 on O2 as a modem.
Bluetooth works! but it does not work when i plug my usb in.
i have active sync running and when i connect on internet sharing and plug usb in it disconnects from active sync
any ideas
cheers
tj

Its supposed to disconnect activesync, then re-connect as a ~network card, it will need to install some drivers first time round.
check in the network connections and see if its added a new network using a "Remote NDIS based Internet sharing device" if it has it should be working fine.
If not check the device manager as see if its installed the drivers properly.

Windows Mobile Sync (Vista) not connecting

I've tried this on Two machines now and it's doing my head in.
I have a Tytn II running Dutty's latest rom. Everything I try to connect the Network USB Connection comes up but the Windows Mobile Device Center doesn't connect. MyMobile which I have to autoconnect does connect.
I've tried changing the to the USB connection in the USB to PC section of the control panel on the device. I've found that if I delete the Network Connection via Device Manager (on the PC) and then reconnect the device it then works but fails the next time.
I've found that if I terminate all the Windows Media Player instances before connecting then it works but then disconnects. I've tried rebuilding the WMP database on the PC so I'm now a bit stuck. How can I fix this so that it works semi-reliably?

Bluetooth connection through activesync

Hi guys,I have a problem with my vox..I have a notebook with windows xp and activesync 4.5..I connect it to my phone easily using usb cable (also internet connection works),but there is no way to connect it through BT.I tried to add a new COM port by the phone port but i failed..Could somebody help me to fix this problem?Thank you very much,regards..
old active sync for Windows XP does not include BT connection for sync. Use Windows Vista where you can sync your device via BT. That is the only way how to use BT for sync.
bluetooth and active sync work perfect with xp, try to use generic microsoft driver for bluetooth

a way to disable usb internet sharing?

I would like to have my Fuze connected to my laptop via the usb cable for charging and activesync, but use my phones wifi for internet.
Problem is anytime I connect the USB cable it drops my phones wifi connection and starts using my laptops internet connection, which is a pain while listening to streaming music and disconnecting often to run an errand. Ideally would like to keep activesync going to allow using mymobiler.
Thanks for any help.

start -> settings -> usb to pc -> uncheck advanced network functionality
Next time search my friend.
Close thread please!
Mod edit : Shazad, Please respect other users and we will decide what and when to close, thank you.

I recalled that option on my Hermes, but it appears different on the TP. I don't have the "advanced network functionality option. Attached are the options I see under Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC. Only get options for ActiveSync and Disk Drive modes. Disk Drive mode disables activesync and hence MyMobiler.
I did a pretty extensive search using the the forum search option as well as site specific google with terms/combo's like usb, activesync, wifi, enable, internet connection, sharing,... but didn't find anything related to allowing phone wifi use while connected to a PC which is connected to the internet.

I have a Topaz and I experiened a similar problem - Internet Connection Sharing comes on automatically everytime I plug a USB cable between it and my computer, but I didn't activate it - the mode was supposed to be "Disk Drive Mode" on settings\connections\USB to PC, but there was no option to disable it either.
I had just found the solution -
1. with USB cable disconnected, select "Ask me first" on the USB to PC setup, click OK.
2. Connect USB cable to PC. The 3 choices come up from a HTC setup screen:
o Activesync
o Disk Drive
* Internet Connection Sharing
o Don't ask me again
DONE
QUICKLY click "Disk Drive" radio button AND check "Don't ask me again" AND click Done below it BEFORE internet connection sharing comes up. It will now stay in disk drive mode.
See if it works?

problem activesync

peace to all members xda :=)
i have a connexion problem active sync,my ppc prophet pm300 its not detected by activesync,if some know how i can connect it ?
thanks for advc :=)
hello
heres what i think you should check before connecting to active sync..
1. are you using vista or xp? < coz i use xp, if you use xp then heres my setting> < attached >
2. check your USB cradle or cable, try attaching the cable/cradle at the back ports of your CPU..
3. check your cable/cradle too if its working...
4.You can use a USB cable or serial cable to connect your device to your PC. Always use the cable or cradle provided by your device's manufacturer to connect your device to your desktop computer.
Connect one end of the cable to the serial (COM) port or USB port on your desktop computer.
Connect the other end of the cable to your mobile device. ActiveSync connects automatically to your device.
Important Note For additional security, disable network bridging on the PC (specifically, bridging to a Remote NDIS adapter) before connecting to the PC to pass though to the Internet or a network. For more information on network bridging, see Windows Help on the PC.
Note If you are using a serial cable, the COM port you used during installation of ActiveSync must be available (not in use) for ActiveSync to connect to your device. If you have freed the COM port for other uses, on the File menu, click Connection Settings, then click Connect. ActiveSync will free the COM port and connect to your device.
RGRDS!
