How to make wmplayer as my default player on my touch pro instead of coreplayer? Thanks
I have only had this device for 12hrs and so far I would recommend the DivX mobile player for video and retain the HTC base for audio.
a, saves space
b, DivX is better than WinMed on WM6.1
Until someone says better...

I was wondering what is the best divx player for the touch pro, I have Core and Divx Player and (at least when stereo BT headset is used) lag tremendously. Core has video lag, and divx will play the video okay with a great deal of audio break up. I noticed that there isn't much tweaking that you can do with the Divx player, but with Core is there ideal settings I should try? I had this same problem with my apache but I figured that The Touch would be fast enough to not be an issue. Thanks in advance.
Divx is a old codec now, you sure u dont mean Xvid? try TCPMP
yes I'm sorry xvid is what I meant, I'll try TCPMP, I thought that it and Core were the same. I thought that TCPMP was early free development and Core was final and costly.
Hey to averyone, I have TYTN II,
i'm searching for video plaer tha't support subtitle and play any resolution and not freez or slowing like tcpmp,
I use tcpmp 0.72 to play movies with subtitle but the problem is when I play movie with big resolution it's play slowly I don't know if it's because the resolution or the speed of the fream.
I know that's "smart movie" play movie with subtitle,
I try it and the problem is that's it's not support the codec.
I always use the "core codec player" to watch movie or any video and it's can handle with averything, I evan play Apple HD trailers with 720p on my TYTN II, but the problem with the player is not support subtitle.
I also test my device with another video player like:
Windows Media Player, Couduits Pocket Player, HTC Album, Divx Player, just to make sure that's the problem is not with my device, all thouse player play the movie smooth without any problem no matters what the resolution, but non of them support subtitle.
I'm searching over the net for video player that's support subtitle and what I find it's TCPMP,
My question Is there another video player that supports subtitles, but run smooth without any problem?

Hello.
Even when i open a .avi-file in the HTC-Player it switches to WMP for playback.
Is it possible to open .avi-files with the HTC-Player instead of the Windows Media Player?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
Wait .. you mean you can play AVIs in WM player ? Cause I can't ..
As i know, you can play AVI files by using CorePlayer (But you have to pay for it).

I know, but i would prefer to play them with HTC-Player because it runs more smothly than the CorePlayer.
You could also try tcpmp its as far as i know a free version of core player and it works extremely well even on a htc diamond
the latest version of tcpmp does not work on my hd2 .....
apparently core player does not use hardware acceleration like Media player, hence to weaker performance
Hi....
um running coreplayer v 1.3.6 build 7427 on my HD2.
The player almost plays all files I need, including .AVI files.
Anyhow,,, while playing some .AVI files the player displays the following message.
player: Audio Codec (AC-3) not supported by the player! (0108)
After this message, the file is smoothly played, but to my very big disappointment, without any audio.
I like not to convert my files into other playable formats.
So, if anyone can help me,,.... please.
Somebody, please figure out a way to play .AVI files with AC 3 audio codec on the coreplayer.
I have the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Same problem here!! but there is any player that can play ac-3 sounds?
I'm using a patched version of TCPMP support to play movies with AC3 audio on my HD2. (cab attached)

You need to set Options > Video > to GDI or Raw FrameBuffer to get video to display properly. Playback quality is great and no different from Core Player, except AC3 now actually works!
I should mention that I use a WM6.1 ROM on my HD2 instead of the stock WM6.5, so YMMV. Of course, I could also boot into Android and use an AC3-audio supported media player (many do). See my signature if you'd like to know more about running WM6.1 or Android of your HD2. The HD2 is a great phone but WM6.5 is just plain awful. Cheers.
Hi guys.
Is it possible to make Opera or other browsers open Youtube videos in an external player (like Core Player, the Youtube application, else)?
Actually Opera is unable to play them by default, there's an unofficial working plugin, but frame rate is very low and video is oversized...
Thanks a lot!!
You can get them to play in core player; the key is going to m.youtube.com. If you go to the desktop version (with the newer versions of PIE), then the embedded flash player will play the videos (with so-so quality).
With Core player, you need to set the file associations for RTSP protocol (and also .flv files).
HTC Streaming Video will also play youtube videos and some types of streams. Core player is better, though.
With Opera, I browse m.youtube, my Core Player is configured for flv, rtsp and all other formats, but Opera doesn't call Core Player like it was doing up to version 9.7.
About PIE, what's the last version?
I've just tried to setup Streaming Media, but I cannot launch it, because it returns e certificate error.
Do you have a working procedure to make it work on WM6.5?
Many many thanks!!
HTC Streaming player just worked for me when I cooked it in; I stopped using it when I got Core Player.
I'm using 28242 now, but all the 6.5.x PIE's work with Core Player. I don't use opera, so have no idea how to get it to work with it.
If you will browse with IE (in my case a standard one in 6.1) you can view the YT videos without any additional programs. The quality is low-medium.

My IE doesn't play any youtube or flash video.
Ooops, sorry just checked one more time and noticed that the address is m.youtube.com (so mobile version of YT)
