Picodrive Keymapping - Touch Pro, Fuze General

2 problems with picodrive. The directional buttens are screwed up. left is up en up is right and so on. I have solved this myself no prob just keep on trying finding the right button.
Next problem is with the ABC buttons of Picodrive. Al the alfabethical keys are mapped to the same keyadress so A=> 0xe5 B=> 0xe5
They al have the same function in picodrive.
Is this a problem regarding the Touch Pro or with picodrive or with a windows setting

somebody else on here has mentioned exactly the same problem with another emulator, so I guess the Touchpro somehow represents it's buttons as the same, either that or what you are seeing is the response from the touch screen not from the button (as was proved in another thread the whole area is touch sensitive not just the screen) in which case turning off the touch feature might sort you out.

Its not the screen im talking about. It is the keyboard.

same with final burn
have the same problem with finalburn (mame emulator). Every key from the keyboard except the directional keys, enter and 2-3 others is beeing mapped / recognized as 0xe5
does somebody has a fix?

Besides that problem - has anyone been able to play either of those emulators to evaluate speed?
I'm concerned that the Qualcomm processor coupled with the VGA screen will result in slow performance.
I'm debating getting this phone, but wouldn't want to if it's too much of a drop off from my 6700.

The speed isn't a problem. Runs flawlessy. The applications are still buggy under some other aspects. But I wouldn't buy myself a device in order to run these emus. There are cheaper ones on the market.

Back to the problem with the keymapping...
I hard resetted the device and skipped the extended rom installation. The problem with the keymapping is still there. Therefore I can exclude the applications in the extended rom causing this problem.
Anyone some advices, fixes or workarounds?

no key mapping
key mapping is weird yes.
Mate of mine has the tytn II with a pocketSNES i loved it And i was in need for a new phone... HTC touch pro / raphael / MDA vario IV was a phone i really looked out fore for a while nice design etc etc etc ... just the key mapping for an emulator is a big .. down for me

Keyboard buttons cannot be mapped in apps/games (almost all use the same keycode)

I recently noticed a weird issue with the HTC Touch Pro I have, I'm prety sure this issue is the same for all builds though. Wanted to try out a few games and start transferring over the ones I had on my Kaiser, but I noticed the keyboard on the Touch Pro gives out the same keycode for all letter, numbers, and symbol buttons.
Using a keycode app program I noticed almost all the buttons give out 0xE5 (299) code. No matter what button u push (except for buttons like caps or del.) its the same code. This makes mapping buttons in games impossible. Has anone else noticed this issue with apps or games??? I'm pretty sure its not just me..

some Fuze/Raphael questions. (gaming and media)

Hello everyone, I'm a tilt user. One thing I like about the tilt is it's right handed keyboard. (meaning you can use the D-pad with your lefthand and use the stylus with your right hand.)
I'm not sure yet if the Fuze is the upgrade for me, and I wont know until I can get some user input. (and try it out for myself of corse!)
For you right handed people out there... what's it like having a keyboard that slides out the other way? Some games I play I use the D-pad as moving around and the keyboard to shoot/open/strafe/etc... AND if there wasn't that annoying touchscreen bug that slows everything down, I could actually use the stylus AND the D-pad. With a landscape left device I wouldnt be able to do this (unless I trained myself to be left handed, or atleast have a steady left hand).
I was wondering if any of you could try out some games and emulators? Also let me know if the annoying touchscreen bug still persists? I'll go to the AT&T store tomorrow and play with one, maybe bluetooth some files over from my tilt and do some tests lol.
so, to sum up everything up above^^^
1. does it run games at a better speed than the tilt? Can it run emulators at an enjoyable speed?
2. Does the Touchscreen bug still persist?
3. How is the change from using the tilt's right handed keyboard to the Fuze's lefthanded keyboard?
thanks!

Keyboard Key ID problems

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Fuze when I try mapping a specific key in a program and it doesn't sense the proper key that I pressed. I noticed this in a couple of programs (not just games) so I downloaded a bunch of games just to test this out. In almost all games, I noticed that the arrow keys and some of the special keys are mappable, but all the alphabet keys are not. No matter which one I choose, none of the game or programs recognize the difference in keys. They either don't see em or give them the same Key ID.
Worse yet, the mappable special keys still launch programs in the background killing whatever I am doing. This is infinitely annoying. I did not flash a custom ROM. I am using the latest HTC FUZE rom from their website. The only thing I did different was I soft reset during ROM loading to kill the bloatware. Everything else runs correctly. It's not a hardware problem; all my text are fine; no issues with the FUZE seeing the different key strokes. I have no issues texting. It definitely seems like the Fuze keeps the same key ID for all of the same types of keys allowing them not to be mapped.
Is this a problem with the ROM (HTC May 2009)? Would using NRG latest ROM fix this? Should I go back to AT&T's latest ROM (AT&T April 2009 I think)? Please anyone that knows about this please let me know if you are experiencing this and how to fix. Thank you.
I am sorry if this is not the right place or if I am not posting in the right section, but I searched this forum/internet for hours and I am totally out of ideas. I downloaded a couple of programs, but they only changed the layout to flash non-Fuze ROMS etc. This is one of my first posts, so I apologize. This site is awesome.
Thanks,
nwdst
More info
I have looked into the wiki a bit before, but I dove back in so I can't be blamed for not reading it. I noticed the following two under tips:
#1
Keyboard Patch (For users with an AT&T Fuze)
File Can be found Here
#2
Start Menu and OK Buttons on the H/W Keyboard
If you would like to add custom keys (including Start and OK buttons) see here for customizing the Touch Pro Keyboard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424905 (Post #7 and #12)
For #1, what does the patch do? When I click on it it gives me the cab; but I don't know anything more about. What is the "Patch"?
For #2, I understand that you can map the the OK and start keys, but do I need to remap every key on the board? I still want the keys to do what they do just not when I run a certain program. Can a program do this for me?
1. The patch fixes a non AT&T TouchPro keyboard to function on an AT&T Fuze as they have different mappings.
2. Hardware keys can be mapped but not for specific functions within specific programs.
Thanks
Ok. I will not install the patch.
I understand that you can remap keys but I still don't understand why the key ID under most programs still remains the same for all alpha characters on my keyboard. Is this the same case for anyone with a cooked or At&t rom? I have latest HTC Rom.

GenPP or another Megadrive Emulator working yet?

I can get GenPP working on my HD2 and its not the speed thats the issue, only issue is the screen taps don't work is this due to the capative screen or am I completely off the mark and its a software issue, as the HD2 doesnt have many keys for obvious reasons to program without screen taps we are out of luck. Guessing I am being thick but is there a way to get the screen taps working or is there another suitable emulator or another in the pipeline?
I know we have the post for the GBA emulator which I am going to read up on now as that is very interesting and hoping for something simular ...

[Q] Hardware buttons went crazy!

Hello!
I'm experiencing some problems with my o2 Touch Pro.
Hardware buttons on the bottom of the phone (d-pad, home, back, call, end call) are not working properly (they work fine only 20% of the time, it's random i guess).
When i press "call" button, device responds as if i pressed the "left" button. It's very annoying. The circle used to zoom in, and out around the "enter" button is problematic as well. It zooms - but but in a very chatoic way - a bit of of zoom in, then zoom out, another zoom in. Functions are just messed up.
Another time, it's all working...
How can i fix it? Is it a hardware problem?
I'm using the Energy Rom - titanium version.
Thanks for your help in advance...
Honestly, if you can't deal with it, get another device. Either that or stick with the stock ROM, less problematic (you can also keep the full function of the d-pad) but then again it may introduce other issues. Someone mentioned this being more a hardware than a software issue. Since I cannot reproduce this on my at&t Fuze, that is all I can suggest on my end.
I get some of that with my fuze; mostly, the d-pad doesn't read gestures properly. If I run compact heaps (from sk tools) periodically, it helps. Soft resetting obviously helps as well. I think it's more of a hardware issue. My problems have definitely gotten worse over time. You can also check out this tool (from an HTC test rom dump; can't remember where I got it). It's a debugger for the d-pad. At least you can see how accurately the button presses and gestures work.
Thanks.
