performance improvements, added features, etc. Its the same as a PC!
oki, thx for the answer.
where can i download roms for raphael.
Official ROMs can be downloaded from the HTC website (www.htc.com). Unofficial ROMs will appear in the Rapheal ROm Development Forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=440.
However, as you appear to be a newbie, strongly suggest your read the WiKi on Rom Flashing. Flashing non official ROMs require HARD SPL to be flashed to your device before attempting any upgrade. If you do not follow the procedure correctly you could end up bricking your phone. Flashing non-official roms will also invalidate your warranty if your device fails and you are not able to return it to the stock ROM.

I thought I would post this for anyone that may make their way here and hasn't found it yet. The usual thanks to they guys here including Helmi_c and Faria for their help. This is still a working beta, but it is very stable. It just has some minor issues to deal with.

a need to know
so if test out this rom how can i get the bootloader to 1.04 so i can put the old rom back to the phone do the cid unlocker "did i get that right? work on this type of phone?
llmo128, if you are flashing to an apache, you only need to put it into bootloader mode to flash custom roms with the MaUpgradeNoID utility. You should be able to go back to an official upgrade from a carrier by just running their packaged installers.
As far as getting this on other devices, I do not know. I have done the cid unlock on a wizard, but this rom will not function on a wizard.
OK. I have a noob question that I couldn't find the answer for. I googled and searched the site. I've read quite a few of the threads here as well.
I'm coming to the Fuze from the 8525/Hermes. Now with that, I had to flash a stock ROM prior to every custom ROM. Is it that way with the Fuze as well?
Also, I understand that I need the HardSPL prior to flashing a custom ROM, but if I don't need the go off ATT, I really don't need super CID do I? There's no ExtROM with the Fuze?
Is there also a danger of bricking my Fuze be flashing too many radio ROMs, experimenting like there is with the Hermes/8525?
Again, thanks for your time.
I can't wait to start flashing my new toy.
Jim
You need to HardSPL the Fuze before flashing any ROMs. I don't have any experience with the 8525 so can't relate to what you had to do. I did have the Tilt and I had to do the same thing on the Tilt - flash a HardSPL before flashing ROMs.
You also don't need to flash a stock ROM prior to flashing a cooked ROM. Just flash straight and you're fine.

Thanks.
Just wanted to make sure so I don't brick my phone.
The thing about flashing stock ROM was going from Big Storage to Non Big Storage. I even had a stripped stock ATT ROM with no radio because the Hermes board reported bricks from repeatedly flashing radios.
Thank and again, sorry for the noob question.
Jim
Correct, you needed to flash the Hermes with a stock rom when switching between a big storage and non big storage rom. You won't have that issue with the Raphael.
Its a rule of thumb to flash with the stock rom before another custom, just so you are sure nothing is left behind. Although, by the way some of us flash, theres not that much time to do this.
I believe someone on the tilt forums explained all this in a thread about how the circuitry worked and how flashing will do to it. There isn't an exact number on how many times you can flash it, but just like any other device, the more the use, it will die down sometime. I believe that number in the thousands, but who knows if someone flashes that many times.
Hey everyone first of all i would like to thank all of you for all the amazing info. you guys really helped me with unlocking the phone took me almost the hole day as was getting errors but now that's set......the help i need is in firstly answering certain questions .......
1).....Is it true that if I flash my Rom again I dont have to worry about it getting locked again.
2).....When BootLoader Mode shows SPL-1.0 OliPof means I am ready to flash any Rom right? Or should I go through CID unlock.
3).....If I flash my Tilt with an HTC Rom will I still see all those ATT Logo and 3G Splash screen and will I have all those useless ATT software.
4).....If something does go wrong or I dont like the new Rom can I flash back; the reason I ask is because some said that you couldnt. Are there a lot of issues using an OFFICIAL HTC ROM... or have they all been fixed.
5).....Has the Keyboard Issue been fixed yet for the HTC Rom or not.
Thanks,
no sim locks are not reapplied with rom flash
1) Once you are unlocked, you stay unlocked through all rom flashes
2) You should go through the CID unlock if you want to flash a rom that is not meant for your phone (cooked rom ) Most roms also require a HardSpl update to 3.29 or 3.56
3) Yes, All the AT$T stuff is in the AT$T rom, it makes sense that if you dump the rom for another, you are dumping all the stuff contained in the rom.
4) You can flash back, forward, up, down, sideways, anyway you want to any rom you want as long as it is a rom written for a Kaiser. What is wrong with the OFFICIAL HTC ROM ? There are bugs in any rom, most are user initiated, program conflicts, or they just happen on one phone and not on another and no one can figure out why. Cooked or Official, they all have quirks, official probably less so.
5) There is a Tilt keyboard fix out and also an HTC keyboard fix out.
Just follow this tutorial step by step and you will have no problems,

As long as your phone is GSM and not CDMA that is the Hardspl.
Just read and follow these steps and you will not brick your phone . mskip is the man when it comes to handholding noobs during their first flash. Just follow the steps and the links and happy flashing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
Did the flash in 5 mins and worked
Much thanks for your advice man. The flash worked. Now my question is if i flash a wrong rom or cooked rom will it briick the phone. Can you give me a link to download a cooked rom? My phone is GSM. T7373. People post cooked roms but they dont post the exact version of the rom or for what phone it is for. Thanks again.
Once your phone is Hardspl'd it is near impossible to" brick it ".
Only flash roms from the rom development section in the Rhodium forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=490
All roms are posted in the phone forums they are meant for.
The Energy rom series is definitely the most popular, but twopumpchump is my favorite chef. Now that you are Hardspl'd try one or try them all until you decide for yourself which one you like best. Flash, live with it for a couple of days and then flash another. it will not hurt your phone. I have flashed mine hundreds of times.
I will try the Energy Rom
Will give it ago with the flavors you suggested. Thanks.
Hello I just bought a mytouch 3g Ive been doing some research on rooting and all that stuff. I have since flashed the latest Cyanogen ROM, however I am looking to flash a Hero ROM with the sense UI.
It seems to install the ROM image onto the device I need a certain SPL. I checked my SPL and it is one of the "perfect" SPLs.
My question is how come I could root the mytouch and flash cyanogen without changing my SPL, but to install the hero rom I am required to?
Also, how safe Is flashing the SPL, which one should I use, and whats the safest way to go about flashing it?
search in the dream section on how to flash a spl. to run a hero rom, you need haykuros spl, which is 1.33.2005 (i am pretty sure lol)
however, flashing this spl COULD BRICK YOUR PHONE. its not a 100% brick rate, but i know that people have bricked while doing it. so READ ALOT BEFORE YOU DO IT, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BRICK SOMEHOW. SO READ AND SEARCH AND READ SOME MORE.
