Has anybody had any information back from Orange UK as to when this handset will be available through them? I have sent a mail through their website as I was advised to do by the Orange Premier support desk but don't hold out much hope of a reply. Can wait to get my hands on something new and chunky and non-Apple

To be honest, unless upgrade is your only option I'd look elsewhere. Orange has ny far the worst data packages (250mb limit for £7.50 a month)
Anyways, last tiem I spoke to them they could only tell me "we don't have that handset on our database at the moment, Would you liek to hear our other offers?"
Hi, I spoke with them and through a numberous attempts of getting the info, I eventually spoke to a manager who told me they have not yet even organized the terms between them and HTC for the phone once once thats done they will have to begin their own branding (he said "testing & tweaking of software to enhance performance" what a joke) anyway that would take a while he doesnt think it will be released before feb next year "if" they get the terms done in the next 4 weeks.
To behonest i cannot see what more they have to do apart from press "duplicate Diamond" and see it rolling out but ....
Is the Touch Pro available anywhere on the UK networks for non business accounts?
Orange
Hello, i was told by upgrades on Orange that this device will not be available and was told that they will be doing the sony pda instead. had to migrate to T-mobile through Expansys u.k to get this hadset. I think that you will have a very long wait to get this device on Orange.
Kinda forgot about this post lol! Yeah I couldn't get any info out of Orange but I have free internet access with them (yes, on my phone, not broadband ) and I barely use it anyway. Just really wanted the diamond with a keyboard but I guess I'll have to settle for the Touch Pro instead then
My friend says he was told "definately not within the next month".
My gf just took out a contract with Orange for the Diamond. For £35 a month sh gets 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and they gave her the 'unlimited' internet for free.
I'm sure I'd manage to hit the 250mb limit pretty easily, but that's only because I use my phone as a modem. Otherwise, 250mb is quite a lot for most people who just want to check facebook, myspace, weather and news feeds.
I guess mobile youtube could rack up though.
Orange always seem to be the last to get phones on there network. I would not expect to see it until Xmas and the guy who mentioned Feb may be nearer the mark.

Orange don't allow use of free minutes when using the phone as a modem. I asked them this as i wanted to use my phone as a modem to save on carrying the dongle all the time and share the traffic on both phone and broadband connection.
I don't feel Orange are taking data particularly seriously. They have some good data options, I think, for business users. But very little for private users. Too much marketting focus on "being cool", and not on service delivery.
Have just been speaking to Orange UK - and contrary to reports, they will be stocking Touch Pro in the next month or two...
Hmmm, they'd better sort it out quick or Vodaphone, here I come (unless the HD appears, of course...)

They have, according to the saleperson I spoke to, an 'unlimited' data package available too.
They'll have to go a long way to convince me to stay yet, including how/if they put their own, usually rubbish, rom on he device.
Does The Vodaphone Touch Pro ship with the standard rom, or a vodaphone hybrid?
Latest
Just spoken to Premier Account Management and they told me that the handset will become available to Small Business users on the 7th December and to other users sometime after that as they are concerned about potential software issues.
Personally I think this is a load of rubbish, why they can't just take the HTC phone and stick their logo on it and send it out to us is beyond me.
I am on orange uk, contract was up 2 days back so I called about an upgrade
The bloke I eventually spoke to was very helpful, but ultimately said the closest thing to the touch pro they will have this side of xmas was the rose
He said they didn't even have it on a roadmap for q1 next year so I Got my pac and am moving to voda at the weekend!

Hey i thought i would share my experience with t mobile so far due to their upgrade blunder::
T-Mobile Customer Relations Mr ###########

Due to recent as yet unresolved problems I have had from T-Mobile I feel I have no other choice but write this email. the staff I have spoken to have all being very nice on the phone and made promises that as yet have not being fulfilled and the majority of times nothing has being done.
I was informed by my local T-Mobile store on the 23rd of July that T-mobile had stock of the new ‘MDA Vario IV’ and this had being confirmed by other people (see this link ((see this link (by the way my user name on this site is spzero)) then the next day I rang up and asked if I could upgrade to the new Vario IV knowing there was some confusion I questioned the member of staff about this and was informed that they did have some in stock and would be sent one out, after posting of my joy on the same site above I read further that people were being lied to about this phone and sent the ‘MDA Compact IV’( see further proof here in this same thread) I rang back T-Mobile and was informed I had ordered a ‘MDA Compact IV’ despite my conversation verifying which phone I was after. I spoke to a CSA who was helpful and tried to resolve the problem but the phone had being dispatched and all I could do was refuse the delivery she did also say that “many phone companies do similar things she used to work at Orange and informed me they purposefully placed early, incorrect due dates on there systems and website to entice customers, knowing orders could not be fulfilled and by the time a complaint had being made stock would be in and the customer would have got the phone they wanted.” It seams the same thing is going on here at the end of the call she advised she would call me back before the 4th of august as my next statement would be issued if not sorted out then that I would be charged for a higher Tariff that I had agreed to, in order to be able to get the phone I wanted and also would be charged for the phone.
I waited and received no phone call on the 5th of August I received two text messages from T-Mobile one advising my phone had being returned and one advising my available credit for the rest of the month. I rang up to enquire about this immediately as they was much talk time available than expected and assumed I had being charged at the new higher price tariff, I was informed that this was a mistake and my bill would be adjusted when I received it in the post.
A few days later on the 8th of August my Bill turns up for £106.26. This included a £5.95 charge for delivery which I never agreed to and am quite sure was never told about. I rang T-mobile and got thru to a Stephen the line was disconnected instantly and when I called back got the same agent who listened to my problem and then said I will place you on hold while I look at the account but he didn’t give me chance to agree to this or ask if it was ok. While waiting for Stephen to come back I managed to eat my tea that had being prepared and after 10 minutes I was still on hold. I rang back and spoke to Ashley who’s team number was 799. I was told that a credit would be applied to my bill to make up for their error and that it had all being sorted and asked if they could help further I asked what my bill would be with the credit and was told £99.27 I couldn’t understand this as I had returned the phone and had a text message to confirm safe receipt and the tariff had supposedly being adjusted (My previous tariff was about £35.00 a month and I rarely used any texts or calls above my free allowance. In fact the only charges outside of my price plan was for £0.68 for call charges.) and as I had previously requested a cheaper tariff knew they was no valid reason for my bill to be above £30.00.
My call was transferred to another agent I was told by Ashley she would advise what my call was regarding and give the agent my account details, I was transferred to a CSA called Mark in the Ready 2 team who had no idea what the call was regarding and didn’t have my details so I had to confirm security questions again, after this Mark was able to help I was told to cancel my Direct Debit at my bank as he was not sure if it would take the £106.26 or the new adjusted amount he was processing, I was also told to wait 3 days and my bill would be corrected and could pay the new amount with a debit card over the phone and cancel my account as by this time I was that upset with the service I no longer wanted to deal with T-mobile again.
On the 12th I received a call from T-mobile but as was at work missed it I rang back and was told there was no information on my account as to who had called or what it was in relation to I was also told my current balance still hadn’t being adjusted but as it had not yet being 3 working days I decided to wait. The next day I received a further call and answered this and was asked if I was interested in T-Mobile’s fantastic Mobile Broadband and declined to accept the offer due to all the problems I have had and that I already had a similar service from 3.
When I got home today (The 14th of August) as I was unsure if my account had being sorted I rang T-Mobile to check (this shows on my phone the call was made at 5:15pm) I was advised by the automated service that my balance was still at the £99.27. I then spoke to spoke to mark on team 718 and asked to speak to a team leader, he refused to put me thru and wanted to know what I was calling about. I advised that due to the way my problem had being handled I didn’t want to speak to a CSA again but I wanted to speak to a manager and I knew my legal rights concerning this as I work in a call centre he still refused to transfer me and continued to ask what it was regarding I said if he checked the notes it should indicate what the problem was regarding, he looked at the notes and advised the last two calls showed I had called up and asked for my balance and the second time asked for my Direct Debit to be cancelled but no other notes so he was clueless, as the two previous calls on the system were lengthy complaints and took some time I was surprised at the lack of any further information. He checked back at other notes and advised me that a credit was going to be applied to my account at my next bill date, I advised that this would mean in order for me to pay my account this month and not miss a payment I was having to pay for their error as the only reason I took the new Phone and Tariff was because I was lied to at the outset about the availability of a phone, I don’t mind paying for my call time and text usage but I don’t see why I should pay for T-Mobiles error. He didn’t respond to this and advised they have their processes and no one can credit my account before my next bill date. A asked why I had already being credited a refund that was showing on my account as my bill had reduced and again no real answer was given just that it was a credit for delivery and this was different to the credit of a handset and tariff adjustment. As I used to work for o2 and currently work in a call centre I know how things should work and I know some one can sort this problem out and place a credit on my phone account now, but I was told by Mark that it would not happen as no one was able to do this in the end after going in circles I again asked to speak to a team leader, manager or whoever could help me and was informed I would be called back by a Team leader as none were available, in between one and two hours. Due to these problems I asked for an email address I could complain to and was advised of the one above, then I was informed that this department could credit my account and sort all my problems out but no telephone number was available and all communication had to be by email or post. I advised Mark that I was going out and needed the manager call back ASAP. When I returned home my phone showed just one missed call which was made at 8:12 so again I was given wrong information as this was actually over two and a half hours after my request.
Due to the way I have being treated as a paying customer and the fact that I have repeatedly being lied to over the phone by and that my account has not being updated I find no other alternative but to send this email which shows the underhanded tactics that T-Mobile is using and despite myself and others advising of the lies in regards to stock of the new phone fact the blunders, thru either lack of training or blatant dishonesty, continue (just read the following forum threads in full from xda-developers.com same links as above) It also seams the same pattern of lies happened with the release of the Vario III and Compact III.
I hope some one can sort my statement out as at the moment I am being charged for a mistake that T-Mobile has made due to lies or marketing strategy and this seams to not just be an operator error but a marketing scam in order to hold on to customers and entice new one’s and I think this should not be tolerated by paying customers and I expect my account to be sorted out so I can have the privilege of never having to deal with such a company in the future. Also due to the now many hours of my time in writing this email and speaking to staff I expect compensation or this matter will be taken further
PS this information has being posted on the internet where no doubt all those wanting to buy your new phone will be warned of what a terrible company you are and no doubt purchase the o2 xda diamond pro (which is the same phone just renamed
Just sent the email awaiting reply the amount of misinformation from this company is amazing lets see what happens
Wow that's some email! lol. I've been on the phone with t-mobile and the dude said to me late august or september, but most likely september.
Looks like I'll be getting it with t-mobile- they seem like the only people that have half descent data add ons. will probably be getting it on "Combi 40 + web'n'walk (18 months)" for £40.50 a month + £5 extra for "Mobile Broadband Plus (3GB fair use)"
The way I justify spending £45.50 a month on a phone is that after the 18 months it'll have cost me £819. so if you take away the £500 cost of the phone it works out at £17.72 a month for; 1000 minutes, unlimited txt and 3GB of HSDPA- or does anyone see a flaw in my plan? lol.

3gb limit and restricted to fair use thats the worse deal ever go with o2 they have much better deals and i bet most other networks do too.
Now most networks offer unlimited data, 18 months ago only t-mobile did as far as i know which is why i moved to them from my o2 staff tariff with 50% off, but all the other networks do and i think at a better price. o2 do it as a add on for £5.00 a month or they were doing a deal on any 18 month contract you could choose a free add on so either unlimited data, texts or o2 to landline and o2 to o2 calls.. much better than t-mobile. o2 are releaseing the Raphael as o2 xda diamond pro... just a matter of waiting for release like i would be doing with t-mobile. long live o2..

O2 maybe good with the unlimited data but their call minutes are poor. I have been looking at all of the companies and T-Mobile's minutes are good and it will mean that I will have to change to a 18 month contract. But the only other provider that may come close is 3. But are they going to offer the touch pro?

I don't know I did some digging around and it looks like all the networks now have really bad fair usage apart from t-mobile atm.
O2's "Unlimited Web Bolt On":
A fair usage policy applies and average monthly usage is expected to be below 200MB...
Vodafone's "Mobile Internet and email pack":
Subject to a fair use limit of 500mb per month...
Orange's "Orange World Monthly Access":
The Offer provides 250 MB data browsing...
It looks like everywhere you go it's gona be useless data add ons for £5/7.50 a month :/
"3" have the best value unlimited data packages.
Personally I'm on Vodafone who are woeful in the UK for data packages, but I struggle for a signal in my little corner of London with other networks...
update! So my automated response from T-Mobile advised i would be contacted in 3 working days or an email sent.. well they have half an hour to sort out my problem. i did get a call this morning from someone in cust services bu as i havea job was not able to discuss my account she asked when to call back and i said i had a lunch break at 1.30 so at 3.15 or something i got a call again unabe to discuss but she appologised for the delay and arranged to call me back when i had finnished work @ 4.00 so no call im now on a train wit intermitent signal so unlikely to get a call even if she tries and i did advise i would be on a train and th time to call.. well the girl dealing Danielle finnishes soon so once agin seems like they are full lies and empty promises..... this is disgraceful and i am shocked at the disgraceful service or lack of it so far........ will up date if they ever sort any thing out
Any news on your dilema from T-Mobile?
Do have to make a side note that my experiences with the Dutch T-Mobile have been outstanding.
They did not try to con my into taking the wrong phone and the girl was well aware that it would be out late august at earliest.
Difference was that i was more interested in getting her number and the end of contract stuff.
Eventually i got the HTC branded version from an online shop.

Did you read that on the expansys site by any chance?... old information! I believe O2 have now changed their terms for this bolt on, and don't specify a limit anymore! Read page 2 of this thread and you'll see what I mean. It would certainly make sense for O2 to offer a good data plan so that they can shift their iphone 3G's!
I'm currently on a "solo" sim only contract with T-Mobile, but I'm in the process of transferring to O2 as they're currently doing a great "simplicity" pay monthly package, which at the moment has a special offer £5 off the monthly fee (offer expires end of August). It comes with the unlimited text bolt on, but there's an option before purchase to change it to the unlimited web bolt on, and if you do that you'll end up with 600 mins (any network), 1000 texts, and unlimited web for £20 a month I don't think any network can beat this offer.
Anyway regarding the fair usage policy, if O2 do claim my data usage is too excessive (which I doubt will happen), I'll just go straight back to T-Mobile again. The great thing about sim only deals is that they only have a 30 day contract, so they're easy to get out of. The downside of course is because they're sim only you won't ever get an upgrade deal from your network - you'll have to buy a sim-free handset or a pay as you go handset on your network and chuck away the sim card that it comes with.
P.S. Thanks to EViS for pointing out that great O2 offer to me
I understand what your saying, but without a subsidy you are looking at £500 for the phone, that is equivalent to nearly £30 per month over 18 months. meaining your total monthly is around £50 per month ! where as on T-mob you will probably get the phone + unlimited data +more mins and more texts for the same amount

Hey yeah i got a call yesterday from Danielle while on the train so signal kept dropping couldnt have a real conversation. but
So far my balance has being wipped off and i am due a call back on tuesday to discuss my other problems in the email. i would imagine Danielle will read this as she is monitoring my account so what should i ask for in compensationto give her a heads up here are some ideas a pre-release vario VI??? a htc diamond pro (its the same phone BTW just incase you are reading this but its already released) lots of money??? never to have to speak to t-mobile again ?? Any better answers on a postcard??????
To be honest i dont know if i want to keep my contract even if they do offer me a great deal but i would have my price......................
Got a call today from Danielle again offered me an extra months line rental as credit and said if i stay with them she could offer a line rental discount for the future and a largely reduced handset, but when i said i wanted the vario 4 was told non in stock so i said i wanted to cancel my contract and was told i couldnt as i had just upgraded my phone..... i almost went mad with her she should know by now i didnt upgrade but that the company she works for had lied to me to agree to an upgrade and it was returned its quite funny really, she did say tho that my complaint had gone right to the directors and will be looked into so who knows maybe they will stop the madness,, by no means a great outcome but at least its something..
I'm just about managing to sit tight with T-Mobile UK despite thier incompetencies. How hard can it be to say "it's in testing, not sure when it'll be ready". Even that would be better than "dunno - not on my system". Just makes me think of David Walliams saying "Computer says no".
What does slightly concern me though is that my advertised upgrade price to the Compact IV is £100. What the hell does that mean the Vario IV is going to cost me?
I fear some hardcore haggling may be in order.
It's starting to get the point when I need a new phone badly. My Vario II is dying a slow and very apparent death. If the Vario IV doesn't come soon I might have to give up and jump to the Compact IV. Damn shame that would be - I love a keyboard on my phone. Had one since my O2 XDA IIs. What will I do without it?
Come on T-Mobile - sort yourselves out!

Hold out my friend only a couple more weeks T-Mobile are building up hype for the phone so that they can sell more. I think that it will come out in September within the first two weeks they like to release at least one new phone a month and this one will be a big seller until they release the gphone the following month.
T-Mobile really have no business sense. I am due an upgrade and would like the MDA Vario IV / HTC Touch Pro. They can't tell me when the Vario is out and they wont cut me a deal if I get the touch pro off a reseller even though expansys seem to think it's worth their time offering it on my current contract at £2.50 cheaper a month for £110! Rather than give me a similar deal t-mobile'd rather lose a customer it seems ( and make me wait for my new phone ), they're even asking for £100 just to upgrade to the diamond/compact! I don't see the logic :S
I'm tempted to get it off vodaphone business when it's out later this month, if anything just to not stay with t-mobile! (Also although vodaphones coverage sucks they have good contracts and in some places support 6.8mbps 3g).
I feel sorry for anyone else trying to get this phone without paying the £496rrp lol
Just got woken up by a tmobile rep at a store to tell me the reason why the vario 4 isnt out yet is because the device is currently over heating and HTC need to fix this issue before they sell them
I don't know weather this is true or not but it sounds a bit far fetched for a device that's meant to be technically identical to the touch pro.
I dunno maybe there changing hardware specs as well...
Oh and exspansys deals are not fair the contracts are 5-10 quid more expensive per month for the equivalent deals on o2s shop and website.
And untill exspansys changes the details on the site i have to assume the data package does have a 200 mb FUP
as titles just got an email,

Thought you was on O2?
I am, but I have another upgrade on Vodafone waiting for me to use
Then it is just a matter of flashing it and hoping it is not sim locked. If it is then looks like I am going to have to pay a hefty fee on this forum to get it unlocked.
Now get back to your Stella induced slumber
I now have mine in hand.
The good news is that it is Sim Unlocked already. I just popped my O2 Sim in it and it worked straight away.
The bad news is that they have butchered the software. Anyone using it without flashing is going to think it is a pile of rubbish.
I am just waiting for it to charge before I Hardspl it and flash it.
Hi Churchwa,
So....How do you go about flashing the TD Pro?
I've got mine now (with the vodafone skinning) how do I get ride of it (the vodafone skin that is)?
Help please...
All details you need to flash your device and HARDSPL can be found in the wiki, and the rom development section of this forum.
Many thanks. I'll have a gander!
Hardspl worked like a treat.
Then I flashed it with the latest Asian WWE rom. Very very easy
Could you give a quick little tutorial on what needs to be done, this is my first windows mobile phone.
THANKS

Why did you Flash it to an Asian ROM over a UK one?
What are the improvements over the Vodafone ROM
??
A question to those of you who got it on Vodafone UK, have you got a registered business or something? I was going to order mine a bout 2 minutes ago, but its asking if im a sole trader\Ltd Company etc... or did you manage to get it without a connection to a business?
just ring the normal new connections number and ask for a touch pro, they should give you one straight away, thats all i did.
rang Thursday afternoon, was offered 600 mins unlimted txts and unlimited internet for 35 a month and got the phone for 20 pounds, not bad really, got delivered today (fri) about dinner time.
currently flashing it reception seems quite good with voda and they seem really efficient.
My local Vodafone store called to let me know they had the Touch Pro in stock and were willing to sell me one on a £35/month contract with net access but still wanted £100 up front, still a little steep.
I tried my luck calling in to Vodafone sales and was tole that the TP was only on a business contract if that helps.
D.
Thanks for the heads up, my brother in law (who has a business) has got his today and was told by Vodafone he can have a few extra lines, so i was going to get it that way if i cant get it direct, i know someone already stated that its not SIM Locked, but can anyone else confirm this too, although i'll be getting it on contract with VF UK, but i wont acually use that SIM, i'll be using a T-Mobile one and just want to make sure before i comit.
Hiya.. I have a small business and got this via my business contract. but as others have said you can get them on a consumer contract also.
Just Flashed mine with the 1.90 405.1 top get rid of all that Red Vodafone crap
Ordered!
Just thought i'd let everyone know, I've ordered the Touch Pro on Vodafone as a consumer and not business, so as stated by someone else earlier, you can get this without being a business. Not only that, the option i chose was "Best for texter" which, for £35 (including VAT), gives you 600 minutes and unlimited text messages (AUP says 3000 messages a month) and the guy on the phone said he'd give me the unlimited internet package too (500MB limit per month) and has the full HSDPA enabled ie 7.2 MPBS and the best bit of it all.... the phone was free
He said it should be with me Tuesday, so for me Chistmas has come early, just got to hope i can use my T-Mobile SIM without having to unlock it, i'll let you know as soon as i get it.
just to let people know, the phone i got from voda is unlocked, has my orange sim in it now.

Is the full HSDPA enabled mean the little H that changes from H to 3G is that ?
Why does it keep changing, shall i set the H as default?
It only switches to H when you need it, (when streaming data) otherwise it just sits on 3G
Hi All,
Will Orange "EVER" release the HTC Touch Pro? Searched their web, called their Helpdesk, and not one person can say if they will or NOT???
Anyone know if they will, dates for relase???
It's been released monday in France, but only for Orange Business customers. It should be available for the other clients at the end of october / start of november.
I got fed up waiting!!
So after 12 years with Orange I reluctantly jumped ship! and went to Vodafone, I Haven't looked back.
I'm on a Business plan 600 mins any network Unlimited texts & 500mb data usage, all this plus insurance for less than I was paying Orange!!
AND A FREE TOUCH PRO TOO!
Customer service is better as it's for businesses
In other words don't wait go to Vodafone.
Hmmmm
guys,
thanks for your responses....I think i may have to give Orange the one way salute!!!!! and move to Vodafone

Since middle of September it was available at Orange caraïbes in my little island, for normal customers and business customers, i got mine on late september. It's weird to see that it's available at Orange in France only with business option.
Various rumours are abound that they WONT be offering the touch pro...especially as the touch HD is already being advertised.
http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news4364.html
Which overall sucks. Looks like i'm off to vodafone/t-mob in the new year!

How much are you paying for that?
Let's say it differently... :
How much are you paid for ( saying ) that ?
Ciao

If you have Orange in the UK I wouldn't even be considering a Touch Pro, you guys are getting the Touch HD! Us in America cried a little bit inside when we found out it wasn't an option for us at all...
Too married to the keyboard to consider the HD.
Now an HD WITH an ultra-thin 5 row keyboard I would like very much.
I just got my orange touch pro in romania and one thing I noticed is that there is no youtube app. Why not? Is there any way to install it?
not in the uk
Just got off the phone to orange uk and so far as the person on the help desk and and upgrade center could say, there is no plan to take on the Htc touch pro as there is no information of it coming into there itnery. They have the Diamond and p6500 and are anticipating the Touch HD and Shift so it would not make a lot of sence to have another htc phone available. However they have now lost me as a customer as I move to vodafone, being that they are the only Uk company to offer the touch pro through there business shop.
I nearly went for a T-mobile G1 as I preferred the bigger and more easy to use keyboard but then remembered I hate google apps and its a google phone!

Hi All,
I took the plunge today and ordered myself an XDA Flint!!!
I'm looking forward to receiving it in a few days!
Does anyone have any tips/advice/info etc on the device?
Any/All info greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Alex
Main tip is just to play with it for a while and get used to it!
The O2 ROM is pretty good (though Michy's is better!) and remember that changing the ROM will invalidate any warranty with O2.
O2 don't supply any sort of front end (HTC Home, Mobile Shell or PointUI) so you are free to install whatever suits you. In fact the O2 ROM is very basic indeed, which does have the benefit of saving memory!
You managed to order it straight from the O2 online shop?
I got told that the XDA Flint wasn't available anymore... :|

I'm sure I will waste hours of my life playing with the device when it arrives!!
This will be my second XDA, but my 4th HTC device so I'm used to the basic O2 ROMs!
I think I will stick with the standard ROM until it is out of warranty then flash it with a new from from here! - I've recently flashed my Tytn2 and the ROMs from here are excellent!

I had some trouble getting hold of one!
I have had to migrate my O2 consumer tariff to a Business tariff in order to get one! - The are ONLY available on business tariffs! I ordered it this week!
They will give it you on a consumer contract, you just need to hastle them into it.
I had a high level complaint open with them for over a month, in the end they gave me the Flint on a £35 a month contract 750mins 300text and insurance.
just a one off fee of £99.
I was happy with that, but i cant state how how hard it was to get this device.

I have been migrated onto a business tariff, 300 mins, All O2 to O2 calls free, Free calls to 10 nominated landline numbers, Unlimited texts, 200mb data. for £30 per month, 1 off fee of £99 and a free bluetooth headset! 24 month contract but with another free upgrade after 12 months!
Didn't have any hassle either!!
Get the unlimited data bolt-on asap!, as soon as you start using it to its potential 200mb will be gone rather fast.
Exchange Email is ofc a must have.
You have to try Pocket Lemmings on this device, it owns best game for pda ever!
I started trying to get mine in Nov 2008, this is why I had so much hastle. No one at O2 had any idea what this device was, I kept getting told different things every time I called in. You know how call centres work its quick call turn around, I was getting fobbed off left right and centre so I complained and only managed to get one because at the time it didn’t say it was for Business customers only.
I finally got mine in Jan 09. After many, many calls.
Mines on a 18month contract, and was in effect a upgrade so my 5+ years with o2 as a direct customer is unbroken, I hope they made you aware that as you migrated to business it’s the same as starting a new account so you won’t be eligible for promotions to long standing customer.
Hi All
I am now due an upgrade on my Desire, and was going to go for the HTC One S. O2 however want £36 a month, for 600 minutes, 1gd data and unlimited texts, so i was wondering what people are paying for it over here?
Cheers
Go to the vodafone eforum and do it that way you get much better deals! Or just contact them through twitter just look for vodafone UK deals
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium App
Go to mobiles(.)co(.)uk, chose HTC One S -> T-Mobile -> Show All and you can find this deal:
Line Rental £26.00 monthly with cashback(7 Months Free) Includes 750MB data allowance , 300 Minutes , Unlimited Texts
Plus you can get an extra £60 cashback if you go to quidco(.)com, register, search for mobiles(.)co(.)uk, click on the link and complete your order.
All that will bring your average cost per month down to £15.92 with a free phone, 300 mins, unlimited texts and 750mb of data
phones4u is currently doing £27 24month contract on O2, 300mins, 500Mb data, also doing £26 24 month on vodafone 300mins, 500Mb data. But phone free, and SIM free, unbranded as I was told yesterday when I was in one of their shops playing around the one s. (oh yes, the deals only available online but I think that's better cos you have the 14days cooling period which in store you don't get it)
I am planning to get the o2 deal since always on o2 but just waiting to decide which colour to go for... just cannot decide...
i really need 1gb of data! i am going for the grey, just to get away from the black ones chipping whilst those phones are still in circulation!
Cheers all.
Three are by far the best. Just changed to them and their signal and 3G speed is great! When tethered to my PC using wifi and the three networks 3G on speed test I get 56ping, 8/9mb Download, 2.5mb upload.
The deal I went for was Unlimited Data, 1000mins, 5000 texts for £33 a month with £60 credit spread over 3rd and 4th bill.
3 have come a long way...
I used to hate them, They where horribly branded, and removing the simlock was almost impossible, compared to other networks.
But they are at the top for smartphone deals, The internet deals they offer + the speed is almost unbeatable.

I totally. I remmember their first proprietary handsets and they were nasty cheap plastic... Do you remember those £11 3 phones from Savers? The advertising used to get right on my nerves too, and the support was aweful. I came back to them in 2010 for the One Plan and haven't been more impressed with a carrier since.
Support is also top notch, never have to wait in a queue and like you say, the speeds are the best around...
I don't want to sound like I'm advertising them, but they really have turned a new leaf in terms of service and reliability.. As well as the fact they don't put their fugly logo on every phone I buy anymore
Have been with ThreeUK for 4 years, had to cancel my contract this month, as I moved to a new place and don't have any signal indoors what-so-ever. I also found their customer support very useless to help me solve my problem, but had no problems in past to get a good deal for upgrade.
Now I'm with T-mo and my phone arriving tomorrow

I'm on that tariff but I pay £32 a month as I've been an O2 customer a while so I got 1gb for the price of 500mb (£6). They also threw in 50mms messages a month. I also get 500 o2 to o2 minutes and since almost all of my friends and family are on o2 it works out well. If you've been with them a while give them a call and see what they say. 2 years ago I had a similar situation and I just asked and got 2 extras just like that (unlimited o2 to o2 calls and 500mb bolt on, both for free). If not that 3 deal that someone mentioned for £33 seems like a steal. Phone was free on o2 btw.

Wow thats shocking! I've only been with them 5 years and even then this is the most expensive tariff I've ever taken out with them...usually I was a SIM only customer (£15 a month). I go on their live chat thing and ask what are my options are and I usually get someone saying 'well since you've been with us a while' etc etc. Maybe try your luck and say you've been with them 12 years and you want this phone but that tariff is too expensive and competitors are cheaper and you may have to leave. They seem to value customers so could offer you a loyalty discount (and yes they do this cause my account has a bolt on thingy saying 'Loyalty Discount, -£4'). I have half a mine to ask them to knock another few ££ off for those 50mms messages cause they will NEVER get used lol.
If you have been with your provider for quite a while, then try and call their cancellation line and request your PAC code, they will offer you a really good deal just to keep you with them, but if you deny all their offers and go away with the PAC code, wait for another call... with the best deal possible
got pac code. no further calls. sod them! i've gone with the Three UK deal. 500 minutes, unlimited data and texts. £32 a month. O2 have disappointed me to say the least!
EDIT: Thanks for all your advice!
Why no one commented on the deal that I found?
Is it because of T-Mobile or 300 minutes is not enough?
I have never used T-Mo, so I'm curious a little bit now
I'm on Orange panther 31. As it suggests, £31 with 400 mins, unlimited texts and 750mb data though CPW. Also includes free sky sports on the phone and another one of those swappable things.
I also get 15% loyalty discount for staying with them so works out at £26 odd coupled with roaming data access to T-Mobile I'm very rarely without H connection.
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
whats this roaming data ?? How do you use tmobile when your with orange ?
Id like to know more about this, because with vodafone the 3g signal is non existent where i live, But tmobile have excellent 3g signal (my GF is with them)
Basically, if you're on Orange (my carrier) or T Mobile you can use either network for phone and data. Mine seems to spend more time on T Mobile than Orange but either way, coverage is great it automatically picks the best one I think.
You also can manually move to either via network selection if you prefer.
Plus orange do that loyalty discount too.

I personaly dont understand, why u all look for "carrier" phones with monthly payment...
Isnt there any "local" internet shops (similar to ebay/amazon) where you can buy? Here there is planty of them! Choose the one u like or the price u like and go ahead!
You can see some of search results here "http://www.salidzini.lv/search.php?q=htc+one" But ofc, these shops dont send outside Latvia, so its not option for thread author

Ohhh i know what you mean now, Orange and Tmobile joined up last year..
I just thought you mean, if you internet connection is crap you could use someone else network lol
Like I (vodafone) could use... say 3 UK network when my 3g network fails.... haha that would be impressive
