Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Upgrade - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Has anyone with the Att Tilt (8925) upgraded their rom to the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Upgrade and had any problems with it? Does it run more smoothly? I still have the att stock rom that it came with and I am considering upgrading to the 6.1 but I am hesitant because i don't want to do anything to void out the warranty.

Alsmost everybody on this site that has a Tilt is already running WM6.1. You can always flash back to the carrier spl and ROM so that'll "unvoid" your warranty.

Where does one get the Factory rom??

In my opinion it's not possible to register a non HTC branded device at HTC e-club, because they use different serial numbers. But you can get nearly all updates from there here in the forum.
i'm not sure if there is a german for 6.0 on here

try searching. but I don't see why you have trouble with wm6.1. WM6.1 is a lot more stable and smoother than wm6.0 in my opinion. If you have freezes, that might be due to your SPL not upgrading. All the upgrades you want is on a WM6.1. I have a tilt and I can't register on eclub either. Thats why we have the connections to xda developer community.

I am not sure if the ROM would work but even if it did you would flash some stuff you don´t need like the files for the slideout QWERTY keyboard or the scroll wheel and the front camera.
Anyway if you haven´t found this already yourself, I´d try going through this thread Jade Official ROM links

You need the specific ROM for Device to flash, otherwise all you will have is a brick...
Check the HTC Touch 3g WIKI and subforum and i'm sure you will find what you need.

QUOTE]
When I bought my tilt on ebay, it was sluggish, and sometimes non-repsonsive on win 6.1. I did a lot of reading, and decided to flash a rom from xda. I found that my phone had been flashed before, it had olipro's first spl. After I went to jockyw2001 3.29 spl and flashed Sakajati's Rhodium, it was like night and day. It was like "can this phone really be so cool?" I've been upgrading roms ever since. Like one poster indicated, the spl might be your problem. IMHO, you'll not find any better roms than what is cooked at XDA, superior to stock in so many ways.
Good Success to Ya!

[question] Windows Mobile 6.1 Update

hello guys
i currently have WM 6.0
and if i want to burn a rom into my phone that is WM 6.1
would i need to update my WM first?
if i do can someone send me the link where i can update it?
because i cant seem to find it.
thanks guys for helping me
Before everybody tackles you, let me answe this lol
If you have an official WM6.0, you'll need hardspl to install ANY custom ROM. Just install that and then choose the ROM of your likings (many chefs and ROMs out there).

You are making a confusion: the ROM itself (as in Read Only Memory) is the Windows Operating System (among others).
If you have WM6.0, that means you are running a WM6.0 ROM.
If you want WM6.1 you will need to upgrade to WM6.1 ROM.
This is where you are making the confusion: to upgrade to WM6.1 = to "burn" (aka flash) a WM6.1 ROM.
Hope this clears the fog!

hmm.. i think i understand wht ur saying. if i flash a WM 6.1 rom into my phone i would have WM 6.1. and if i have a WM. 6.1 rom and i want a 6.0 rom i simply need to just flash a 6.0 rom onto my phone. correct?
so there is no need for the extra step, of me having to update before i flash a 6.1 rom on to my phone.
essentially, flashing a rom is "Updating" in the sense i think you had in your first post in this thread. There is no need to update anything on your stock ROM because you are entirely replacing it.
It's similar to reformatting a XP computer that's Vista capable and putting Vista on it. (Not that I would recommend that anyone do that to their poor PC.)
However, before you flash, make SURE you have followed all the steps and guides to CID (Security) Unlock your phone and have HardSPL installed properly, otherwise your Kaiser will be a $450 paperweight. SIM (Subsidy) Unlocking is NOT the same as CID unlocking, so make sure you've done it right before trying it out.

Absolutely. Link, which is included in the sticky thread I mentioned above, for you to learn more about ROM http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser#ROMx20.Upgrading

Unlocked Treo750 need HSPL before ROM?

Hi. Im new and wanna say THANK YOU to all of you for the opportunity. I have an unlocked Treo750 AT&T branded (actually with Tmobile) Windows Mobile 6 Professional CE OS 5.2.1620. I am interested to do the navenedrob 6.5 upgrade. Can I install the ROM directly or I have to do HSPL first?
U need HSPL. Follow navenedrob's tutorial to do it here. I would highly recommend navenedrob's ROM too. I use it on my treo. Don't use his new one yet. It still has some bugs, but his timebomb fix one is excellent.
Thanks for the info. I will try right now!!!
Hello everybody,
thanks for all details on XDA!
I have got a question.
Is it possible to downgrade the IPL to version 0.20, SPL to version 0.24.000 and the firmware (radio?) to version 1.54.01.00 when I patch to WM 6.5?
I ask this, because I still have a guarantee for my Treo 750v.
Thanks a lot!

Yes in short. Read the sticky guides in the dia 2 forum so you dont end up bricking ur device. WHen 6.5 offically comes out then of course u can flash to it, if you flash without hardspl (uspl) then no-one will ever know you flashed a cooked rom if you do revert back to official one.
Just a word though, do read before you flash, you will void your warranty flashing a cooked rom, so your choice.
