Camera date and time prefix problem - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Im having some trouble with the camera on this thing. On the diamond I could set the name of the videos and photos to be the date and time (prefix) even if they were saved to the 4GB internal storage. But on the Touch Pro it will only save with the date and time prefix if the photos and videos are saved to the internal ROM and not the memorycard. The option to change the prefix is dimmed if I have chosed to save photos and videos to the memorycar.
Does anyone have a solution ? Cause this is driving me nuts.

i have the same problem..
Anyone knows how i can fix this?

Anyone Ever find a fix for this? It is the same on the Fuze.

Found the Fix
While poking around after adding burst and sport modes for the camera I found a fix.
Change d-word from 1 to 0 for:
"HKLM\software\HTC\camera\general\EnableDCIM"
This does 2 things:
1. Creates folders "storage card\my documents\(my pictures) + (my videos)
2. Enables selection of Prefix type in camera settings when storage card is selected as storage type

The reason that photos on the storage card are treated differently is so that they will be stored in the same way a digital camera stores photos; that way you can plug the storage card into a printer that is able to print directly from a camera card and it will be able to print photos taken with the Touch Pro, as well. It can't do that with the "My Documents\My Pictures" layout.

Thanks for the info. Since i don't use that method for printing my pictures I am going to keep DCIM disabled so i can name the files with the date. I hate just having em all named image#.

Thanks!
Now, I dont have all the images with IMG*...

Thank you very much. this is applicable to HTC HD2 Leo too. I'm going to suggest to be added to HD2 Tips.

Storage Card - Default folders like Pictures, music etc..

Hi
are there any easy ways to setting the default directory for pictures, music and so on in tf3d to your Storage Card?
for example seeing instead of "/My Documents/Pictures" "/Storage Card/My Documents/Pictures"

[Q] Gallery won't see the SD card, will see the Micro SD

I can see photos stored on the Micro SD card I have, but when I put the SD card from my camera into the Dock I can only see the contents through File Manager or any other file browser - Gallery doesn't see them & I can't find any ability to scan media.
Anyone made this work, it seems to be an obvious thing to want to do ?
Same problem here... I really wish they would fix this, it would be great to display pics off the SD card immediately after a photoshoot.
Yes this is indeed annoying - Gallery will only acknowledge images from the microSD
(with no setting / config option for additional / alternative source)
Floating Image is a pretty good replacement - but geared more for presentation / slideshow.

SD Card reader -- View images in Gallery?

I've been playing around with the cheapo OTG Connection Kit (combo SD card reader and USB port).
I noticed something odd -- when I load an SD card (from a Nikon D50) into the SD card reader, the tablet recognizes the drive and automatically opens the file manager. I can navigate to the photo folder on the SD card, and then open individual photos (which open in the Gallery app). However, I can't swipe left or right to see the other photos. I have to exit the Gallery and then open another photo.
I was hoping that I could simply open the first photo and then swipe through the rest of the photos in the folder, as you would normally do with images. But this just doesn't seem to work when the photos on the SD card.
Any thoughts? Has anyone else experienced this, or could someone else test this out to see if they get the same result?
Anyone? I've now tested this with an SD card directly in the card reader dongle, as well as with a USB card reader plugged into the USB dongle. Neither allows you to load images on the card as a gallery (so that you can swipe left and right through the gallery). Each image must be clicked on individually and then backed out of.
Seems to me that the gallery app doesnt have any external storage mount points set into its default and I dont think you can add any. Pics are opening individually in gallery because you have that set as your default app for viewing pics. Try another gallery type app from the market or maybe search the forums for a modded one.
Thanks -- I've been thinking along those lines. I've heard good things about JustPictures! so maybe I'll start there and report back what I find.
I've the same issue... I'll try market gallery manager. Thanks
I had some partial success with JustPictures! -- it definitely was able to load the entire folder from the SD card, but when I swiped through the pics, it seemed like it wasn't quite in file name order like I expected. Not sure if it was random or some other order.

Library Issue

I've got a 32Gb SD card in my Surface and have it setup as an NTFS folder rather than a drive letter.
I have moved the default locations for documents, pictures, video's etc but the "Pictures" app doesnt seem to pick up images from the library even though it has been changed in the Explorer library locations.
Anyone else got this problem or am I going to have to dig around in regedit?
Make sure your sd card folders have indexing turned on

Think you might be onto something there, when I go into indexing options its not picking up the folder that I created for the mSD card.
However I can import images from the mSD card using pictures and it puts them in the moved pictures folder with a datename and they appear in the "Pictures" app...
Bit of random behaviour there...

256GB SD permissions and raw photos?

Many times a simple problem turns complex....... like now.
I take many photos on my phone, dSLR, GoPro, MavicPro, etc. and always shoot RAW. I do my post processing in Lightroom and Photoshop. On my S8+ I discovered LR is not importing the .DNG files. I find out it seems they need to be in the Camera Roll and I configured the stock camera to store them on the SD. I'm using the promo 256GB Samsung SD.
OK. I'll poke around with a file manager. In the rocess I find and try to delete an old folder. It asks for permission to access, I think no problem I've seen this many times before. HOWEVER, I can not grant permission the SD does not appear on the permissions screen!! Then I try a different software and see that the card is defined differently. One software even has it as a USB drive. Another simply calls it "Storage". In any case, I can't do much with it. The system seems to access it just fine in most cases.
I think OK I'll re-format it, dead end. How about merging it with the internal storage to have one huge single place for storage (not my favorite way since I may need to read the SD in a different device in case of a failure), this would solve my Lightroom issue as then I save .DNGs to the internal Camera Roll, nope.
I know I'm rambling.
The questions are:
Can this big SD be merged with the internal storage? Is there a size limit or is that not possible any more?
Anyone else using Lightroom Mobile and shooting RAW? What is your workflow?
