LocationFree for PPC - General Topics

Ok - I am looking for some way to run Sony's LocationFree on my PPC. There used to be a solution called NetFront LocationFree Player, but it is no longer being sold. Even the places that say they have it - don't.
Is there any other frontend software that I can use. I don't want to changes solutions completely (aka Slingbox or Orb) since I use my PSP heavily with this service.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. (Or if you know where I can buy that software would work too!) Thanks!

Bump...
Im looking for this too, I just got a location free box. Anyone know how to get this working with ppc?
Thanks

Well you guys should checkout ORB.COM. Its easy, free!, and does everything.
It turns your PC into a server (location free) that just runs in the background.
works perfect on my tilt!

I need this too!
Anyone care to send me a copy? I'm having trouble finding this, legally or illegally ;-)
There has been a whole load of LFPK1s being sold off recently for £25/$20 by Staples USA and PC World/Currys in the UK, making it a bargain.
Thank you in advance. It's crazy of Sony not to offer this software anymore.

I'm also looking for a CAB of this...I've actually even emailed hadango, I'm hoping they'll eventually get back to me on this one.

I have Netfront Location Free Player
I am not sure if I can post it on the forum, or about it's legality. I don't see how it would be a problem since it apparently is abandonware now.
If I get the go ahead from XDA I would happily provide the cab.
EDIT: Attached zip of the cab file.

the cab actually wont help because there is no way to get a serial. trust me on this. ive even emailed netfront/access about it. serials only work on one unit and no one who uses this is giving up their code.

I'm a little confused. All the media that I want like pictures and videos, I can easily put right on my phone. The only reason I would want Orb would be to stream my cable tv. After spending the money on a decent tuner card, I could have just bought a Slingbox. What are the advantages of Orb?

any update on this?
i do not want to use orb as it means having my pc on all the time,
i would like to use my locationfree player as it works so well with my psp.
gutted if i cant use this

anyone have it to send me? i have bought it i just cant download it anywhere

Hi, I am interested in the cab for this abandonware software....plz. post a link to this cab. I purchased location free basestation 2 months ago.....i have htc touch pro and would like to put it to good use.
thanks

I attached a zip of the cab in Post 6 if anyone wants. I do not feel comfortable placing a registration key on the site, but if anyone needs one you can try to IM (please don't PM me, I rarely check it).

hi i'm intrested on this software and and i thank you for the NLFplayer cab
if you please can send me the serial key to [email protected] thank you

Wireless File Sharing?

Before I got my HD2 i had a Nokia N95, for that i had a piece of software called SymSMB, which allowed my phone to appear on my pc as a computer in my network, it meant i could then drag and drop files between any folders or drives that i wanted to share.
I was wondering if there is anything like this for the HD2 floating around.
an overview of what symSMB could do if you're wondering.

Closest I got to anything similar was a remote access app i found on here some time ago. If you search the threads you should find it.
Gave you access via browser to all files and folders, can stream video/audio and move files about. Also in beta version you could remote desktop (or remote mobile?) and control it for specific function (used it to help a friend one, needed a few tweaks in his registry ) Sorry, cant remember who made it but im sure it was free.
Hope this helps On the other hand atleast you know its out there
im gonna try this one....looks very good:

I don't know who that us.
(said in a Brian Butterfield voice).
I'm assuming it allows you to remotely control your phone. If that's the case then you want the excellent MyMobiler from http://www.mymobiler.com/
Alternatively, you may be asking to remote a PC from your phone. For that, you want Remote Desktop, which comes with the device.
It's better than a box!
(said in a Brian Butterfield voice).
PS. If you don't know who Brian Butterfield is, look for him on YouTube
Actually, I've google for it and see what it is now, and it's neither of the above. (You should still look up Brian Butterfield though )
A similar app exists on xda somewhere, so I'm sure that someone will be able to point you in the right direction. I can't remember what it's called though, so I can't help
I think this should suit your needs...
http://www.mobilesrc.com/mobileremote.aspx
I get there in the end
Thanks for the reply... i've seen that one.....(i may just get it anyway) My pc is just a media server, which is hooked to to my TV, All i want to be able to do is access my Music over my Network via my phone without the need to have the TV on.
I can see why you got that app now (after a search) use this search string in google and choose the top link "apple itunes remote" that will give you the software i was on about..
Okay, I get what you're after now (this thread has turned into an archive of "remote" apps! lol)
You can do this with VLC and this...
http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlcremote/
I don't know of any that control iTunes, but I wouldn't imagine you want something specific to an Apple product on a Windows device, so I'm guessing that VLC will be good enough for your needs.
Hope this helps
Cheers matie... I don't use i tunes... just windows media player....
I did find this alloysoft.com but just looking to see if it will run on the HD2 (winmo 6.5) ...
You need "1-2 Remote" (http://www.sfr-software.de/12remoteen/) It interfaces with your itunes and WM player. I use it myself. Very good prog.
Cheers
Also, check out G-Remote - very simple remote for XBMC, WinAmp, or an other program in a sexy(ish) interface!
What makes it stand out for me is that you can browse your music/videos on your PHONE, click play, and it launches on the PC.

free navitation?

Hi, i started posting this in another forum here on xda but i guess it will be better to post it here.
I am looking for a free gps-system to my HCT HD2, and by free i also mean offline!!
If anybody knows a way to reset the trial on CoPilot that would be fine too, but i'm not going to do a hard reset...
I have looked in the post with all the apps for HD2 under GPS but i cant find a free navigation system. I have tried the NavyComputer and i love the way it works, but theres no GPS inbuild (unless you record a road and then play it).
Thx Qwak

i know i might just should buy one but i know that if i buy the copilot v8, in a month there will be a CoPilot v9, so im really just looking for some freeware...
I know that i can keep saying that there will come something new out all the time and therefore i should not buy anything but i just dont need a GPS that much.. its most for fun...
Use google because there's too many apps to post. Some work in the way that you download the maps off google maps and it uses it's program to navigate through them. Just search and you'll find it. Only thing is, you get what you pay for. Some work great in some areas, but others report problems in others.
well..
I did a google search before posting but it came up with alot of programs that used the 3g-network to get the positions witch is not free, nor very precise!! Neigher of the programs had a navigations-system inbuild so it was just to see where you were and maybe record a road...
I was just hoping that someone had tried a good one and would share that with us...
Or mayeb if someone had a list of available gps-programs so i could test them myself...
Thx Qwak
such I already mentioned before, thair are two difrent gps cistems thay who worked on a stand alone based, I will mean thay have there maps on your sd and don't beet a 3g connection thay works
ore the sistems like Google maps, it is free but it needs 3g and I don't see it like a gps but more like a plan who says where you are.
by the way I don't know about withc software application you was talking about but with my full lecence I have access on evry update fore a year! and if I will next yer also have the new updates it caust me only 35$!? so I don't think a really software is so expensive!
certainly not if you can bay you a htc hd2, bay a gps license will also work!?
and if you are looking fore cracks; you lost your time here! the ruels are clear here.
Don't use google maps, use Bing maps since it has actual navigation.
I prefer it over google maps, for now.
Bing is great. you can find it in Marketplace.
thx
Thx for the bing app, its surely better than googlemaps, although its on english... anybody knows if theres a danish pack for it?
I incidently re-newed my Copilot Live 8 trial by simply removing the licp8.dat file from the windows folder! Good luck!
I have OnStar and compared it to Bing. Bing seems (MHO) a lot better than OnStar.
1. Cost is free with Bing compare to OnStar $ per year.
2. Can set up route prior to getting into car.
3. If I deviate from route, Bing immediately does a re-route without asking.
4. Bing notifies you of turns 1/2 mile, 1,000 Feet.
5. When you are close to destination, Bing tells you whether it is on the Right or Left side of road.
Again, just my opinion, any comments?
Cheers
Hi, I just wanted to say Thank you to Megarock. Removing the icp8.dat file gave me another 15 day trial to play with. Brill
omg, IT WORKS
Thanx soo much Megarock, now i have free copilot forever!!
Though, you have to set it up again every time, but i found a way around that:
1. Delete the licp8.dat form the windows folder.
2. Open copilot and set up a new account and all the other stuff
3. backup the new licp8.dat to your memory card
4. when the trial expires just delete the licp.dat and copy the other one to your windows-folder.
(the one you copy to the windows folder is the backup you made 15 days ago, just after finishing the setup)
Hoped it helped someone
Thx again, Qwak

bluetooth printing?

searched high an low and found a bunch of nothing except jetset print5 which i wouldnt mind but mighty rom doesnt have it.
does anyone know where i might be able to dl it or if anyone knows of a better app that would be great.....thanks.
ok, so no one knows, how bout this....does anyone know how i can take the jetcet print 5 off my old touch pro and then install it onto my tp2?
Hi Tregrad,
You could try CAB'ing one of the version found in the TouchPRO/Fuze OEM Repository.
I do suggest contacting Weksttek before going through the effort however so as to confirm that JETCET Print is compatible with the new Bluetooth implementation found on the TouchPRO2/Tilt2 and WinMO 6.5.x.
Cheers,

Here you go. Jetset Print 5 all in a nice little cab. I installed it on my TP2 (which it did install to the main memory) to check it out but I have no way to test it. Give it a spin and see if it works out for you. Hope this helps.

that's what I call service. I was going to suggest looking in the windows marketplace, that's where I got my install of it.
awesome PRB thanks a lot i really appreciate it!! I believe there is a 5.1 version out there but this will do just fine, again...... THANKS!
I looked all over the place for it but it costs money and it comes with teh phone so i didnt think i should have to buy it when i have phones that already have it on it.
wow having a real hard time setting it up. will try again later
As pointed out my earlier reply, certain versions of JETCET Print are not compatible with the new Bluetooth implementation (stack) that is present in WinMO 6.5.x and WinMO 6.1.21000+. The best approach to use would be to download the trial version and test it before hand - since it's the latest version.
Here's a link on the subject from about a year ago:

Yea i thought he would follow your advise because you posted as i was typing my reply & uploading the cab i found. I was unaware of the different versions for the new bluetooth implemintation. I did not create the cab I just found it. I was also unable to test the cab as i do not have bluetooth capability on my printer. You advice was probably the best course of action.
I browsed through their Online Support knowledgebase and discovered that there is a 5.4.1198 version floating around. I also noticed these KB articles which confirm my suspicion that earlier version will likely be problematic on new versions of devices:
4516: What Bluetooth stacks does JETCET PRINT support?
7813: What printers does JETCET PRINT v5.2.1059 support?
7839: The HTC HD2 and HTC Touch 2 with JETCET PRINT 5.4.1187 in ROM are unable to locate the PlanOn printer via Bluetooth. What is the problem?

[Q] Say what? Wi-fi internet sharing for Windows Mobile 6.5?

Hi everyone. I've been hearing mention of some sort of Internet Sharing application or addon to the comm manager, that would allow me to turn my phone into some sort of hub. I'd like to be able to use my phone's connection with my iPod Touch, (or perhaps, other devices), so my searching is what has lead me here.
However, I don't really know what the "defacto" modification is for getting this capability. I've seen several threads already. Also, they seem to lack in documentation. They come in cab files - would that mean I can just download and install from my phone right away?
So if anyone can recommend me a wifi sharing app, (preferably for the HTC Ozone), I would be very grateful.

Auugghh. The website logged me out, so I lost my entire post
Anyhow, I'll try and re-write what I had last time:
So I'd like to use 0.9.1, since it seems to be the last free version. I downloaded it and installed it ok, but I have no idea how to use it past that. Could you possibly link me to a guide, or detail it in here?
Well, I gave in at the airport and just downloaded the trial.
Very nice. I'm so glad that I can use a browser that was a least half thought out (safari mobile) rather than that Intermet explorer. What a waste of my unlimited data plan that would have been.
Although, I'd like to be able to use that free version of WMWifi if I could. So does anyone happen to have a guide for it?
