hmm, a lot of people seem to be having this problem recently for some reason...
what is in your C:\kaiserkitchen directory?

At the moment im using the BuildOS installer from PPCGEEKS KITCHEN, ive downloaded all updates for different devices from there server.
C:\BuildOS
When i downloaded ALEX Kaiser Kitchen, C:\kaiserkitchen the program you use (sorry dont remember the name) to add CABS to the ROM did exactly the same thing as BuildOS.

CabviaActiveSync Error

why i am getting this error. my computer at work works fine but my computers at home is not working. i have attached the error message and the programs that i have installed to make it work but no luck
Not that its much help but I'm experiencing the same problem on one of my computers as well. Hopefully someone has an answer to this?
Same problem here. It started after messing with .NET framework installations.
I tried to run it in Dependency Walker there were some strange things but I don't know.
One more experiment. I tried to rename the exe into "%APPNAME%.exe". (I was quite surprised Windows had no objections to such a filename) It didn't work. When run from Dependency Walker it ended with:
First chance exception 0xC00000FD (Stack Overflow) occurred in "%APPNAME%.EXE" at address 0x0043B10F.
Second chance exception 0xC00000FD (Stack Overflow) occurred in "%APPNAME%.EXE" at address 0x0043B10F.
After some googling I installed version 1.3 It has some nag screen but works.

right click on the CabViaActiveSync executable, go to properties and make sure you set it to 'run as administrator' and XPSP2 compatibility mode. This will fix any issues under vista.
Same error here

see my reply above, it works.
Just install version 1.3 attached to an earlier post and you shouldn't have any further problems.
Worked for me

This works but it's not the real fix for it.
I have installed Win7 a few days and encounter also this problem
I found out, http://www.modaco.com/content-page/...ible-cabviaactivesync-now-available/page/40/# , how to fix that.
As the post says, one have to had the user to the permissions of the cabviaactivesync directory. I only had the Administrators group (witch my user is from) but that's not enough.

Trouble in the Kitchen

Hi I hope someone out there can help. I am getting an "initialisation error" when trying to cook myself a rom. It seems to be when the batch file calls the package tools app. Can anyone shed any light on how to get this working? Thanks

Make sure you have .net CF installed, v2.0 or higher. I got this same error after a re-install of Windows XP, and .net CF hadn't been installed again - _Alex_ pointed this important point out to me.
.Net CF 2.0 fixed the problem
THANKS!

[Q] Chevron: "Your phone is ignoring us" error

I posted the question in the chevron official thread, but this can't hurt, right?
Anyway, i managed to run "chevron unlock tool" after downloading and running MiniSDK found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265846
It gave me the error i mentioned.
I than removed MiniSDK and downloaded the full SDK. No go. the thing i find strange is, i can't find "Windows phone developer registration tool" nowhere.
It's supposed to be in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.1\Tools" as per microsoft's guides and troubleshooters, but it's not there. All I have there is "WPConnect".
Chevron FAQ asks that i check with that tool if i can connect. If i can't, they can't help me. But obviously, something went wrong with my SDK installation. I tried repparing the installation and i tried to reinstall it, still the same.
Omnia 7.10.7740.16, Windows 7, the latest chevron unlock tool, wp support tool, and SDK installed.
Has anyone found a solution or a workaround for this?
Have you checked the Start Menu for the registration app after you install the full SDK? The installer should have added a shortcut to the start menu...
Or this directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.1\Tools\Phone Registration\PhoneReg.exe

That's my point, the installer DID NOT put those things there. There is nothing even mentioning it
Windows search can't find. it's just not there. After 3 installations.

And this is what you are downloading right?

If it doesn't install... then... that's just weird. It always installs for me just fine.

Yap! It is weird. I think i'll have to reinstall windows completely. No matter how good they are, 2+ years seems pushing it.
I downloaded vm_web2.exe and will not start!

can't install XAPs

hi..
i used to use MultiXapInstall to install XAPs but from two week ago.. i'm unable to install XAPs through MultiXapInstall (and the others xap installers )..
when i try to install a xap i get this error :
Code:
Connect() :: Class not registered
at first i get :" parameter is incorrect " error so i use some Registery Cleaner programs and after that i got this class not registered error..
What should i do?!
sry for my weak EN
any help?!
Reinstall the official SDK. One of the required components was probably removed or corrupted. I also tend to recommend against running any of those "registry cleaner"-type programs...
Just for the record, I assume the official XAP deploying tool isn't working right now either?
thank you for reply.. i reinstalled WPSDK but nothing changed. i still "get class not registered" error..
what should i do next?
There's apparently a leap day bug affecting Zune; it might be related? Try again tomorrow. If that doesn't work, the only thing I can think of is to either try a different PC, or to completley remove WPSDK and Zune, reboot, then re-install them.
i reinstall both WPSK and zune several times. and now when i try install an app or a game with Multi Xap Install the application Stops Working and making me close it..
this bug is killing me!!
Try using the official XAP deployment tool, and see what error it gives.
excuse me.. what is Official XAP Deployment Tools? i searched but nothing found
if you mean installing via Zune.. it's ok with no problem.
P.S: when i try with WPV XAP Deployer i got this error :
Specified Cast is not valid

Something like this happened to me a while back. Are you sure your installing the right developer tools. I'm assuming you have mango. Dev tools should be 7.1
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
thank you for answering.. yes i have mango and also WPSK 7.1 is installed..
I mean the "Application Deployment" tool (xapdeploy.exe) that comes with the SDK. I don't think you can get much more official than that. It's relatively feature-poor, but it's also both less buggy and gives better error messages than most of the third-party deployers.
You should try using the official XAP deployment tool installed with the SDK. It's on your start menu Also make sure that Zune is launched.
found the solution xap deployer parameter error (fixed)

I changed my devices name to lumia and tried deplying a game and it worked so i guess
changing the name is the solution. I got suspicious about the name because usually my phone's name appears as windows phone but this time it was windows phone 09832 or something i dont remember the exact numbers but it works for me.
To fix parameter error in deploying tool Just rename your device to lumie or anything else
