Anyone willing to grab me their FM radio software? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I don't know if this would be as easy as a CAB, but I know the G-sensor calibrator was easily enough removed from the Raphael ROM to be used on Diamonds... My Raphael didn't come with the G-sensor calibration tool, so that was useful to me. Can anyone get the software out of their Raphael for the FM radio so I can see if my device even has the hardware necessary for it?

Cobbled together from the package in my Diamond ROM, but I have no way of testing it on the Raphael ('cause mine already has the Radio), other than to say that the cab installs without an error.
See how it goes...

Well, good news and bad news. "Your wired headset serves as an FM antenna..."
I don't have a wired headset. BUT, so far so good, it installed and ran without a problem! Thanks so much.

Ah. Another reason why we all despise AT&T soo much. Taking out the case and headset from the box. I mean seriously, why such cheapstakes?

No, they may come with it... I got mine in a regular brown box since it's a pre-release model, didn't even have retail packaging. Came with charger, USB cable, and phone. That's it.

What do you think would happen if I were to try installing this on my wing? lol

nothing unless your wing has the hardware for an FM radio included on it's main board

Yeah says it's not signed or missing one or more componets... would have been cool

Nah. Have you ever seen any HTC phone that came to AT&T with a headset or case? I haven't. And I'm sure I won't since AT&T are cheapstakes.

Well, 15 year olds always know better than people who actually have the money to buy these phones...

Black, any copper wire going into the jack should act as an antenna. You should be able to test it by just plugging a USB cable into it. Then obviously use the speaker on the phone to see if you get sound. Reception probably won't be as good as if you used headphones, but if you at least get some static, you know you're good to go once you get headphones.

Nah it won't work I've got a usb cable plugged into mine right now but it's still asking for headphones. Thinking about it, it must know when you've connected headphones rather than a usb cable so it can mute the speaker.
My Touch Pro headphones were still sitting in the box until 5 minutes ago! The FM radio also works on the headphones that came with my Vario II, which I prefer cos they have a volume control on them, but the reception is much better on the Touch Pro headphones - probably because the Vario II ones weren't designed to be used as an antenna.

8125 came with case & headset from Cingular (ATT).
Lets not sweat the small stuff. Jus tbe glad they don't disable all the features of the device to make you use their services like some other providers.

anyone with a dash, kaiser, etc should have a headset you can use. I'd love to see if this works...
p.s. Cingular/AT&T paid to NOT have them included in the box so they can sell you the accessories. The MPx220 from Cingular was the only iteration that didn't have the headphones. I had to buy them seperately.

Fuze makes speakers freak out O_o

Hey um i searched this sub forum for a fix on this and didn't find anything but yeah. Basically if i put the fuze near any speakers or receivers * external tv speakers, or desktop speakers* they will start freaking out until i move the phone away.
Wifi is enabled but not connected.
Blutooth is off
I'm expecting there is no good solution to fix this since it seems its not fixable via software, but i might as well ask.
Interference like with other phones?
Insulate the wires... or your phone
Software fix... turn off Phone function

Edge will do it. 3G will not. Otherwise, move it from the speakers.

No worries man...my Tilt did this also. It happens when your phone sends/receives data such as incoming text, updating weather, or internet usage. I've found if you move your device like 3 feet away from the speaker you won't hear it.
I hate it when my phone drops from HSDPA to GSM. I feel sorry for people who only have 2G where they live; you'd need to get a Faraday Cage to keep your phone in when you want to listen to anything on speakers or wired headsets.

Hows the FM Radio?

Well my pair of fuzes should be arriving on Monday or Tuesday so I'm beginning to wonder about some of the other hardware parts. I keep reading that the FM Radio uses the headset as an Antenna. I have a Hermes and the included abysmal headset that came with that, and I have so little intention of using the one that I'm about to get it might make small children cry, so heres the question of the day:
Does the FM Radio work acceptably without the headset? If not, does it work with an adapter and *REAL* headphones?
Not a deal breaker either way, but it would be cool to know.
Hi, I've a Touch Pro on Vodafone UK flashed with ROMeOSĀ² Italian Rom (just to let you know ). I'm using on it the headset controller that i had with my previous phone, an O2 Stellar (Tytn2) and a Sennheiser CX300. Absolutely no problem, and the sound looking great!
Now on your other questions.FM Radio is not working without headset, so you have to put them in the plug, and then FM Radio program will start. Otherwise, if for you is a problem having headset inserted in the phone, you can buy an headset controller (on ebay have a really low price!).
About the headset quality, I had before of Touch Pro, a tytn and a tytn2, and can confirm that the quality is the same, so I never used those!
PS: sorry for my english, I hope you undertand what I'm saying!

Dont worry, I've read my fair share of very broken english, you're miles ahead of many people.
I've had trouble getting stations in clearly using a variety of headphones, but it does work.

I live fairly close to New York City, so this may in fact be a YMMV. How far off are most of your radio stations?
better then the diamonds radio
Radio program works great for me. It just depends on what kind of area you are in like the poster said a few above me with buildings in NYC. Headphones are ok that I got with my Hermes.
The other route to take of course is streaming radio but that will probably take more battery life than FM.
i DL the one for the fuse and my headset doesnt work as an antenna..... i wonder if i used another phone headset if i could pick up any other radio stations????
is there a cab file for the fm radio?

I recently was passing by Phoenix AZ and picked up an FM station when I was about 150 miles away and held it until I was 150 mile past Phoenix. Maybe the conditions were just perfect, maybe my headphones are a very effective antenna but whatever the reason, I was impressed with the performance.

It works great, you need a adapter for your headphone though. It comes with the phone.

same thing here. i live on the outer edge of houston and can barely get my 2 favorite stations with my car but with my fuze its loud and clear full signal. ive been thinking of ways of hooking my phone into my car just for fm radio. poor iphone users dont know what they are missing.
Got my Fuze, Loving the hell out of this thing but the FM Radio isnt quite what I had hoped. Its not awful, its just not great either. Oh well.

Strictly speaking that's not true - mine works fine on 'speaker mode' with just one of these in it.
I use some retractable ear buds (also from ebay) & it works fine. I get a good signal on most UK stations of note.
I also stream world radio from the links posted here here, which is fine for talk radio even at GPRS "2 bar" speeds using Windows Media Player and in comparison of course, the FM player is much better.

Headphone adapter - no audio

Has anyone found that their headphone adapter has stopped working for some reason?
Was working fine, and now seems that the phone no longer recognizes the adapter. Power passes through just fine - however, can't get audio out.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions? I don't have a spare adapter to test.
Thanks,
Chip
I'm afraid that is the test. Either use your headset on a different phone, or a different headset on your phone.
You should be able to test a headset at your local phone retailler (just tell them you want to check it works before you buy it)
I'm having the same problem, just not at your stage yet.
I have audio but it's obvious there are some connections that aren't quite lining up since I get mono out of both speakers now instead of stereo and moving the connector at all gives me the typical "short out" garble you hear when you've disrupted a short in an audio cable.
The only time anything is plugged into my phone is when it's laying flat on a desk (I even make sure the wire comes out straight with NO pressure on it at all). I've never forced the cable, had it in my pocket where it could have put pressure on the connection, or anything else that might have caused the problem...
I think it's just wear. I can still charge the phone just fine, it's just audio that is screwed up now. I'm just waiting for the day when I don't hear anything...
...and I'll probably never buy HTC again... since this happened with my Star Trek too.

So I went to the AT&T store - a headset worked fine.
I went out and bought a new headphone adapter - same thing, doesn't get recognized by the Phone, so still SOL.
Question - any idea of this could be software related? I had installed skype (uninstalled to see if this was the cause) and wondering if that did something to the headset settings.
Any value in reimaging with a new ROM to see if this fixes it before calling AT&T warranty?
Thanks,
chip

If you have flashed cooked ROMs then you will have to flash back to stock for warranty reutrn anyway, so this could likely be your issue.
If you're on the stock ROM, then I would suspect hardware.

Have you updated to a custom rom, or changed anything recently?
If you put force on the connection in any direction and it doesn't seem to be loose, it's probably software related.
Some users however have had "faulty" jacks and had to get phone replacements.

i think i may have to replace. i have flashed new rom but put back stock verizon. i tried different players hd teak and even cleaning. but think now its the phone itself.
ty for the reply
I had this problem with mine a week after I got it back in September. When I unpluged the headphone jack it would stay on not letting me hear anything through the phone speakers. I went in and they issued a new one, but to this day still hadn't got a new phone. Supposedly it is arriving tomorrow, says Verizon last Friday.
On a side note, while I was there there last Friday dealing with this. The tech had called customer support and was asking to send a new one. Customer support told me and the lady that was helping me that "they had stopped making the Touch Pro 2... and that they would find a phone equivilant to it", I said, WHAT!?! and that I would only take the Droid if that was really the case. But then he magically 'found one' and shipped it that day.
Not sure why that was said to us, but makes me wonder what will happen if anything were to happen to my phone again.
I am sure the person told you that, because they were looking at a screen that was telling them the phone was "Out of Stock". The person assumed then it was no longer being made...
well, they sent me a replacement, got it last night and its refubished. Has a big sticker "like new". I called them up and explained that the scratches all over the phone is hardly like new, and it doesnt even have the battery cover. Since I have had two different phones already, both new, I wasnt confident a like new phone would perform better. Besides, I paid for a new phone not a used one. Verizon is sending another phone by monday, that should be new.

headphones / aux cable disables mic

ive searched for a few hours and have noticed that this is a problem that other devices have as well....
for me this makes my car dock that i bought pointless....i saw there was a work around for the EVO that required bending a connector inside...id rather not do that for the TB but willing to try if last resort and if anyone knows how to
has there been any other work around for this?
the car dock instructions even tell you to plug audio cable in! i dont get it.....and this is only while making calls....the Voice search works fine
any help is very appreciated thanks guys...
anyone? i really dont want to have to buy an adapter with mic on it...
Actually, what you need to do, just buy this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...49206&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2654wt_1139
I just ordered it. It says that is for iphone. However, it works same way to Thunderbolt. It is worth to try.
If you doubt, you can find other things, similar like that.
That sucks considering the mic setup on the TB isn't too shabby. Maybe it can be fixed in a firmware update?
