Who is SSD manufacturer with X7510? - Advantage X7510 General

Has anyone cracked it open and checked?
I think the only manufacturer that I know of with a 1.0" SSD 16GB with 35 pin ZIF PATA is Transcend.
What's inside the x7510?

I doubt anyone can answer your question at this early months of the release unless they actually was involved with the actual plans and manufacturing of the X7510.

whip out that torx driver and let us know!!!!

Hi,
as my X7510 had a deadly accident, I dismantled it.
It doesn't have a SSD. The place where X7500 has his MicroDrive is filled by the PCB with on the both sides a total of four SanDisk SDED5-004G-NC 4GB FlashDrive.
This FlashDrive has a FBGA package which need an industrial soldering machine to be soldered or desoldered.

So.....this raises the possibility of increasing the flash storage, doesn't it?

Al-Djazair,
There should be a controller chip on the PCB. Can you identify it, or post a photo?

MicroSD Card jumps out of the Slot all the time

Hi together,
I've a problem. My 8GB SanDisk MicroSD Card jumps all the time out of the Slot.
Only the Cap of the Slot holds the SD Card inside.
Does anybody have the same problem?
Is there a fix for this?
Thank you for your help!
bye
Tom
It seems that you have a hardware design fault. If I was you I woud try a different card if still happening then send it back for a replacement asap

Question: did you push the SD card all the way down until you can hear a little 'click' sound?
Yes i did, it's hidden completly in the case, and i hear the click sound.
Does nobody else have the same problem?
Hi,
i tried now another MicroSD Card, and with this i don't have the problems. I suppose that my SD Card is damaged or its a fake.
I made a piture of both cards and uploaded it:
http://galdan.casemodder.de/MyFiles/public/IMGP1488.jpg
The 8GB Card is the problematic, and with the 2GB Card i don't have problems.
Do you see anything? What could i do?
Maybe a "fake"!
I'm not an expert, but your 8 GB MicroSD Card actually seems to be a "fake". These are the reasons why I think so:
the "SanDisk" writing is a little different
SanDisk logo is absent
"8 GB" instead of "8.0 GB"
different ProductID format
the writing "MADE IN CHINA" shouldn't be there
I think you've been... screwed!

I don't think so. I just took a photo of my 8GB Sandisk which
runs absolutely flawless in my TC since months now and clicks in
as it should. The printing looks the same manner than his.
Nevertheless it could be a fake, but the printing is ok,
so maybe just a production failure or bad tolerance.
I took a second photo with flash so you can see that also
the "Made in China" is there on my card (you can't see it
on the photo without flash)
Hope that helps.

P.S.: @Galdan: Just noticed that your 8GB seems very sratched at
the surface (the printing is kinda bad). Mine is absolutely
clear (see photos).
I think the fitting and clicking is also a matter of "thickness" of the
card. Have you already compared the thickness of the two cards you
have to see, whether there'a noticable difference or not?

I guess you're right!
@Galdan: forget what I said!
I have also a 8GB SanDisk, same as yours and as Oliaglios.
Style of printing, Made in China all the same.
Mine is still free from scratches, the printing is like new. I took it out up to 50 times.
Maybe your card and the TC card slot are both at the "worse" end of the tolerance.
Going further on Oliaglio's hint: I suggest compare the measurements of both cards.

same print on my 8 GB, chinese made SanDisk card which came with the original sandisk USB card reader.
No mechanical problems at all, just 1 time partly data corruption.
I put one drop of superglue on the long edge of the card (let it dry!), and now the card fits fine.
same problem
I had just the same problem.
Returned it to HTC and they fixed it in garanty !
Nico
Same problem too. First repair, they haven't fix it. It's time for round two! At the same time i'v got a weird ratteling noise with the earspeakers...i hope they will fix that too
MicroSD Card Jumps Out
There are a number of units with a faulty spring assembly.
You can try 4gb or 8gb both to no avail. Contact customer support and explain the situation. They will provide you a RMA number and the address. Note you will need a credit card number to provide them. I takes about two weeks for the unit to get repaired and shipped back to you.

Ameo for £230? Or best offer?

Hi all,
JUst looking at moving over to a smaller device for a while. I have another Ameo coming soon and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing my current model.
Its got some small scratches on the front (not the screen) where the keyboard has rubbed the paint away, 1 on the left above the keyboard and 2 on the right, one above the front facing camera and 1 under the vueflow button (usual) and the charger died yesterday so I have been charging VIA USB.
Apart from that it is a:
T-mobile Ameo. CID unlocked running AP4.00.
It has Igo and TomTom on it both with Euro maps.....the errrr unregistered versions....
I got most of the bits that came in the box apart from the charger.
Comes with the 4-1 Cable for USB host TV out etc.
A TINY little USB hub for it and a mini Trust Wireless mouse.
A 512 Mini SD card
Headset
Spare Stylus
That little Bag thingy (which I found very usefull)
and I still the have t-mobile box with all the bits and docs
PM me if there is interest.
I would accept trade in if anyone has a decent laptop for sale. (I would pay up to a few hundred more for a trade up to a decent Core2 Duo or T64 with dedicated Nvidia or Ati graphics......)

Same Motherboard in 510 and 511 - 3G possible on 510??

As seen on Techrepublic the 510 and 511 have the same Motherboard:
"Same case and motherboard for Wi-Fi only and 3G models: Acer is clearly using the same case for both the Wi-Fi-only A510 and the 3G-enabled A511. There’s a space inside the A510’s case for a cellular card and an empty spot on the motherboard for a SIM card slot."
Has Acer left the cellular card holder empty to make it impossible to have 3G feature on A510??
If so, we can just solder a holder to have 3G on A510 enabled (with A511 firmware)!!!

No.
And I say again.... no. This was covered indepth for the 500/501 series tablets.
When you solder any device to a mainboard, you have to have factory type soldering devices. Or, you overheat and destroy any nearby circuits. Not to ,mention you would have to buy at least 2 components, possibly 3.
As with the 500/501, they use 2 different GPS radios. So that would have to considered also. Otherwise, the Rom won't work correctly.
End result.... pay the extra money and buy a 511. It will be cheaper.
(I think the same dude made the same video for the 500 a year ago, and said the same thing.)
MD
I think you are talking about this A500 thread but keep in mind that A500/501 and A510/511 are different devices. Don´t try to compare the incomparable.
Soldering is not such a big deal. A soldering needle, the right temperature and a steady hand can do that too
If it would just be the card holder I would give it a try.
But what are the other 2 or 3 components?

Anyone have a Kingston G2 microsd usb adapter and a 64gb microsdxc?

I read one report that this adapter truncates a 64gb microsdxc's available space to 30gb. I emailed Kingston back and forth about it but just got useless replies.
Or does anyone know of an equally small adapter. The casing can potentially be larger since I'd most likely be stripping it bare to fit in between a case and phone.

Is it possible to replace the 64gb emmc with a 128 or 256?

Provided I have the spare parts lying around. WIll the 3a recognize the 128 or 256 emmc?
Maybe upgrade the ram too while where at it??
These couple of post intrigued me:
https://www.xda-developers.com/nexus-5-hardware-modded-to-64gb-internal-storage-by-replacing-emmc/

Links of emmc replacement but for Samsung:

Don't worry I'm not going to do the hardmod myself. I live in the Philippines, and there are a handful of repair guys out here with remarkable soldering skills. I believe they even do Macbook ram/ssd upgrades as long as you will provide the necessary parts.
