Anyone have a Kingston G2 microsd usb adapter and a 64gb microsdxc? - General Topics

I read one report that this adapter truncates a 64gb microsdxc's available space to 30gb. I emailed Kingston back and forth about it but just got useless replies.
Or does anyone know of an equally small adapter. The casing can potentially be larger since I'd most likely be stripping it bare to fit in between a case and phone.

4GB microSDHC Card REMOVING?????

how do you remove the card, i have a 4gig one which i put in my new kaiser last night, i just went to remove it to put some more stuff on it, but it wont come out, the old varioII model you used to be able to push it in and it would spring out, this one does not appear to be doing that.. anyone else got issues or is my unit broke already ?
it reads in the phone ok as 4gig so it is working...
any help appreciated.
right got memory card out but it was a struggle, is it supposed to be spring loaded ? as mine definately is not ?
I have the same trouble with a Sandisk 4GB SDHC card. I read on another forum that this is a problem peculiar to Sandisk, others should work as advertised, however cannot confirm personally.
this is indeed a scandisk card....
it does seem to go in just dont trust it as it is not smooth like the vario II.
i will see if i can get another card and test. not had any issues with scandisk previously, but there is always a first for everything.
thanks for the reply.
Is the rubber cover supposed to come off completely? Mine seems to be attached at the right side... i've pulled it quite a bit, but i dont wanna break it off :S
Are you supposed to push the cover 'up' or just pull it off!?
the plastic cover hiding the micro slot just lifts up (it does not come completely off, you can then move it to one side whilst you put the card in) once in slide it back over and push it into place..
I've has my Kaiser for 6 weeks now and have had this issue with the 4gb sandisk card since the day i got it. I thought it was my phone that was busted. Ive been grabbing the card and forcefully pulling it out with my fingernails and have had it in and out probably 20 times with no damage to phone or card. Not the best way to do buisness but I didnt know what other options I had.
I'm actually a little ticked off at the way HTC is designing their card slot covers as of late- first the S710 fiasco, and now this annoying cover that doesn't seem to like being opened...
I have the same problem with the Sandisk 4gig card in my 8525 as well. I think the card is slightly over spec size because other cards click and pop out, just not this card. I had to use tweasers the first time to remove the card. Then I actually carefully trimmed/scraped the sides of my card with an X-Acto Knife which helped the fit.
I had problems with my Sandisk 4GB cards, too. But only the first 2 or 3 times I removed each card (I have 2). Either I've subconsciously figured out the trick to removing them or the slot has trimmed the cards so they don't hang up.
i have the same problem with my sandisk card. I used a really slim sharp knife to get it out.
Which SD ard to Use?
Hi guys,
I read the troubles with the Sandisk 4GB cards. Glad I read your post, I was just about to order a Sadisk 4GB.
Can you please reconfirm which SD cards 4GB, 6GB, 8GB work fine Kiaser?
This may help many of us.
Thanks
I hae a Sandisk 4G card. It comes out after pushing it in slightly - the spring works for me. After testing this 10 times, the card comes out 7 times. I think it depends on how you push it in.

I Installed a 4GB sandisk card last night - went in with no problems....! Doesn't seem to be a particularly tight fit..
Ohh err missus
I got my TyTN II today and I've got a sandisk 4GB microSD and it pops in and out with no problems. It's a **** trying to get the rubber cover off when you've got no nails though
i tried it, too. you have to turn the rubbercover to 180° to the right side. then the slot is free to get the card in and out. a spring is definitly in the slot. my 1GB sandisk slides out easily but only when the cover is away.
The cover rotates???? I was ready to tear it off already!!! Thanks for the tip
I've bought a Kaiser last friday but I've had the same problem with Sandisk 4Gb. I've thought that was from the phone so I've changed it but it xas the same problem Off course because it always was with a Sandisk 4Gb...
So now I know that it comes from Sandisk card ! Thanks for you !
Do you know wich card works perfectly with Kaiser ? Sandisk 6 Gb ?
Thanks for your help !
i dont think its a bug. how often do u change the card? normaly it should jump a little bit out of the slot so u can grab it with your fingernails or the stick. it could be that the 1gb is a little bit thinner as the bigger ones. i got my caliper here and its 0.75mm thick measured with the little sticker on the one side. so now we can check if the 4 oder 6gb version have the same measures thand the 1gb.

MicroSD Card jumps out of the Slot all the time

Hi together,
I've a problem. My 8GB SanDisk MicroSD Card jumps all the time out of the Slot.
Only the Cap of the Slot holds the SD Card inside.
Does anybody have the same problem?
Is there a fix for this?
Thank you for your help!
bye
Tom
It seems that you have a hardware design fault. If I was you I woud try a different card if still happening then send it back for a replacement asap

Question: did you push the SD card all the way down until you can hear a little 'click' sound?
Yes i did, it's hidden completly in the case, and i hear the click sound.
Does nobody else have the same problem?
Hi,
i tried now another MicroSD Card, and with this i don't have the problems. I suppose that my SD Card is damaged or its a fake.
I made a piture of both cards and uploaded it:
http://galdan.casemodder.de/MyFiles/public/IMGP1488.jpg
The 8GB Card is the problematic, and with the 2GB Card i don't have problems.
Do you see anything? What could i do?
Maybe a "fake"!
I'm not an expert, but your 8 GB MicroSD Card actually seems to be a "fake". These are the reasons why I think so:
the "SanDisk" writing is a little different
SanDisk logo is absent
"8 GB" instead of "8.0 GB"
different ProductID format
the writing "MADE IN CHINA" shouldn't be there
I think you've been... screwed!

I don't think so. I just took a photo of my 8GB Sandisk which
runs absolutely flawless in my TC since months now and clicks in
as it should. The printing looks the same manner than his.
Nevertheless it could be a fake, but the printing is ok,
so maybe just a production failure or bad tolerance.
I took a second photo with flash so you can see that also
the "Made in China" is there on my card (you can't see it
on the photo without flash)
Hope that helps.

P.S.: @Galdan: Just noticed that your 8GB seems very sratched at
the surface (the printing is kinda bad). Mine is absolutely
clear (see photos).
I think the fitting and clicking is also a matter of "thickness" of the
card. Have you already compared the thickness of the two cards you
have to see, whether there'a noticable difference or not?

I guess you're right!
@Galdan: forget what I said!
I have also a 8GB SanDisk, same as yours and as Oliaglios.
Style of printing, Made in China all the same.
Mine is still free from scratches, the printing is like new. I took it out up to 50 times.
Maybe your card and the TC card slot are both at the "worse" end of the tolerance.
Going further on Oliaglio's hint: I suggest compare the measurements of both cards.

same print on my 8 GB, chinese made SanDisk card which came with the original sandisk USB card reader.
No mechanical problems at all, just 1 time partly data corruption.
I put one drop of superglue on the long edge of the card (let it dry!), and now the card fits fine.
same problem
I had just the same problem.
Returned it to HTC and they fixed it in garanty !
Nico
Same problem too. First repair, they haven't fix it. It's time for round two! At the same time i'v got a weird ratteling noise with the earspeakers...i hope they will fix that too
MicroSD Card Jumps Out
There are a number of units with a faulty spring assembly.
You can try 4gb or 8gb both to no avail. Contact customer support and explain the situation. They will provide you a RMA number and the address. Note you will need a credit card number to provide them. I takes about two weeks for the unit to get repaired and shipped back to you.

S6 vs Other Next Generation Phones

I currently have an S4. I love it, I also got an extended battery, and a 64GB MicroSD card. I was hoping a better S5 when the S6 came out but it actually seems like they kinda went backwards on a few things. This has left me thinking about just going to a different phone. What does anyone else think? I know extended batteries are on the way out I have given up on that for a next gen phone but was hoping that the S6 would keep the Water proof, USB 3, Removable Battery and MicroSD card. I can only wonder why they took away these features.
Hi, total newbie, first post, but.
As a Samsung owner from the original S, currently running a S4, I have to agree with your observations, in regards to going backwards.
Personally, I see the removal of the SD card as a money making scam on Samsungs part. Ok, I have no real world experience of what handset internal memory costs to buy in regards to manufacturing etc, but.
To me, the variations in memory sizes should have been costed against what the equivalent micro SD card cost to buy respectively.
Sandisc 32gig Class 10 £13
Sandisc 64gig £26
Sandisc 128gig £70 ish.
Not to robbed blindly at £200 for the extra 90 odd gig you get between 32 & 128 inbuilt.
The say they dropped the micro SD due to the full metal frame and glass back, rubbish. It looks like they have a machined slot to take the micro sim, so why couldn't they do similar with micro sd card?
Battery is an issue certainly, if it turns out like the original S4 ones, that ended up swollen.
It makes you wonder if these handsets will be operational in 5 years time. I mention this as I have a few old handsets, in pristine condition, with original batteries from the late 90's, early 2000 that all still work perfectly. Im afraid that I can's see the same with their modern builds.
Well, looks like we don't have much options left of removable batteries smartphones, but its not a big deal,at least for me,because its not like we can't replace it,its just harder but still possible. The issue here is that only 2550 mAh,plus with a unnecessary QHD display ,the S6 battery can perform any better than our S4?
For the SD Card, they don't drop it because of the glass and metal design, its performance related.S6 have amazingly fast R/W internal memory, and a SD card would ruin it.The price off course will be a issue, but i think they made a good choice.
The biggest drawback is the lack of waterproof, and for the USB 3,i wonder when they will begin to implement the Type C standard on Smartphones, that would be cool!
I think im gonna jump this generations of smartphones because I am still happy with the S4 and type C standard is actually a very nice practical thing to have. I'm even delaying my motherboard upgrade because of that.

Hello, Question Regarding USB to MicroSD Adapters!

Hello!
I have an LG G4 which has developed a fault with screen burn-in and so it's being sent back to LG for repair sometime over the next week. I am expecting to be without the phone for around anywhere up to a month, but in the meantime i have a 2013 Moto G 1st Gen that i can use, which is actually a pretty sweet phone when running CM13. The only problem is that the internal storage in the Moto G is only 16GB, and it doesn't have a card slot to put my SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSD.
I investigated the Meenova but it would be a little expensive for me to buy and have it shipped over to the UK, my calculations bring the amount to $15 which equates to approximately £11, which is a bit steep for something i will only use for a month at most. And besides that, the website states that postage from Hong Kong could take more than a few weeks or even a month!
Thankfully, i have come up with another idea. I have a microscopic adapter at home which converts USB to Micro USB. It does essentially the same job as a USB OTG cable but it's incredibly small and genuinely cannot be seen once it is fitted between two devices. So i thought that i could use this adapter to convert the Moto G's Micro USB socket to USB, and then have a USB to microSD adapter plugged into that to add support for my 128GB microSD card.
I am looking at two different cheap ones on eBay at the moment which are here and here. I'm all set for buying one of them but my question is, will either of those work with a card as large as 128GB (microSDXC) such as mine? I'm a little doubtful as to whether these will only support lower capacity cards which are 32GB (microSDHC) and below, but don't see why not because it's only a simple adapter, nothing more.
What do you guys think, would these cheap adapters support microSDXC cards with capacities such as 64GB and 128GB? Any insight on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Is there a case with an OTG micro sdxc reader built in for the Note 7?

I am curious, since the 512gb micro sdxc cards are not available on the market yet, if there is a case manufacturer that is making a case with a OTG micro sdxc card reader built into the case? The one that comes to mind for the Galaxy S6 is the Offgrid by Incipio.
Here is the link to the article about this case, going to the company's website shows a new version of the Offgrid case with the micro sdxc card slot missing. .
http://www.androidcentral.com/incip...g-microsd-card-and-external-battery-galaxy-s6
I am looking for a case like this for the Note 7 so I can have the 64gb internal memory, 256gb in the card slot and then 256 loaded on the phone through the OTG connection without an adaptor sticking out the bottom of the phone.
I can't imagine that they'll make such a case. The S6 lacked a micro SD card slot, so there was a natural market. The market for folks who need 2 cards slots may be limited... to just you.

I would agree with rcobourn. Maybe this would have some appeal to people wanting dual sim and loosing sd card slot in the process, but for most over 300 GB of storage on the phone is good enough.
