Hi,
I have made a ROM based on WM6.1 Microsoft Emulator Images for Vox. I created this ROM starting from a clean version of WM6.1. I just ported emluator images to Vox and added the new XIP 20202. This ROM is only in english. I added some tweaks to increase speed rom (like the new .net compact framework 3.5).
NO THIRD SOFTWARES INCLUDED (Except some essential like PIM Backup) !

I dont know if this is a popular request, but the only thing I'd like to add to this one is the black sleek CommManager. Love the look of it...
BTW, I've just got my copy of SPB Backup. Will report how that works as soon as I do a backup
fireburned, well done on this version! I wanted to create a similar 'clean' rom but now you've beaten me ;-)
So far zero problems and all my major apps working perfectly thus far. I.t.o. the CommManager, the black one is surely more stylish, but the 'older' one probably a bit more effective because it's very clear and has number shortcuts. The black one would be nice (to have everything wm6.1 and stylish ;-) ) but not a train smash.
I was actually worried that you didn't include Windows Messenger so had to search for the .cab before flashing your rom only to find that you didn't remove it. Perhaps just add to your list above that it is included.

Number shortcuts work on the black one too, it just doesn't display them
ia1 : i don't know how to display digital font in clock, i never searched it, maybe the response is in *.cpr files
tipu2185 : do you have found a working cab for dr gonzo black audio manager ?
swapnilgyani : you can find gonzo black comm manager here , try it and tell me if it works. I don't want to include it in my rom, because i want a very "clean" version. After, if you want to customize, all files could be replaced with a cab.

Messenger is already included, it come from emulator images, and it's a clean version. I don't have listed all of programms included in windows mobile, just what i added to optimize my clean rom.

In my zip file "Vox_BlackHTCSplashscreens", you have both : primary (*.nbh file) and secondary (*.cab file) splashscreens.
First is a bitmap, secondary is an animated gif with HTC logo.
Cab file included "oemstartuo.dll", required for animated splashscreen.

I found two ROMs( by you and by Hikey) and worked marvellous for me except some problems which are not bigger problems at all. I want to test your ROM but before that I've two questions, please try to answer that.
1. As per this post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409960&page=3 menu which opens in hikey's ROM is having shaded colors which got changed on changing color from settings like guava, default etc. Do your ROM have this kind of thing? If not what are the possibilities.
2. As per Hikey he used New core 19593{ It is WM6.1.1.7 (AKU 1.1.7)} and you used 19202. Do you have any comments on usability, stability, speed and look?

Love the rom, been waiting for a clean-cut 6.1 for a while now.
I just have one problem: my storage card is nowhere to be seen. Is this a known flaw/bug, or do I have something screwy in my installation. I've tried a cold boot and even a reflash, but no joy.

I downloaded your new kitchen but the OEMDrivers folder contains files instead of modules. Why don't you change the OEMDrivers folder with the one you can find in former kitchens? For example Doublefour's 5.2.1413 kitchen contains modules. All drivers are the same in kitchens. Nobody is developing new drivers for the old Wizard. We are using old drivers in the roms and kitchens. Maybe i'm wrong but in my cooked rom i changed the OEMDrivers folder and my device is working well.
im using the 4mb version and its really fast, stable, my only problem is now the touchflo button is so sensitive that it even pops-up even if you are currently using sms, or other programs when you touch the left softkey, but overall i can live with it
nice ... cute icons... cool features.. suggestion why call it OCTAIVOI ? it sounds so lame... I just cant picture myself getting excited to my fellow techiez at work ... Hey "I have OCTAIVOI on my phone"... how about calling it Ophone ?

Becasue I like driver files, it's easy compare and replace when this files errored. So, you can copy modules in Doublefor's KitChen replace this files.

Advanced config tool
Can someone put the Advanced config tool in a cab file?
been running this rom for about 3 days now, very fassssst, good battery life and so far stable, and im just using the 4mb pagepool, no overclocking needed, and it even has the touchflo, just put your favorite programs and you have a wizard on steroids, thanks again for this wonderful rom

Slight confusion here as well with this avid listener, first time caller - the title post says for Elf and Elfin, the "Instructions ... .txt" readme in the archive available on RapidShare says the ROM is for Touch XL only. Which of the above is correct? Thanks!

Ignore that instruction in the ROM folder, it is for both ELF and ELFin...

It will be included in the ELF ROM only because Hibernate does not work for Program Memory above 64Mb... Cheers

Fast and with a lot of memory but I miss the lack of PocketOffice, and I had a couple of auto-reset of the device, so I decided to give it up. Sorry!

How's the power consumption?
in testing, for now fast, no hang up, wfi wpa it's ok

Are you completely sure that your ROM works (even boots) on a G4 ?
Because my Universal is a G4 (boot 2.01), and after I've flashed your ROM it just stops at the boot screen, showing:

I too can confirm that my Uni stuck at the same point (splash screen) when I tried to flash not just this ROM but all 2027x builds (by luck16thebig, frank_zhang911 etc).
I tried again by explicitly keeping the Uni in boot loader mode with Allow USB connection checked and unchecked in active sync connection settings) but no luck...
Reverted to a known working ROM.
Is this version for G4? Mine too is a G4 with Boot 2.01 ?
i have not test with g4...i have g3 device..
Installed and working like a charm on O2 XDA Exec (G4)
excellent rom...
let's hope the battery drain is better on this rom than TOMAL 8.2 (no offense tomal, your roms rock, and well.. so does this one!)

i don't change something.. but is not logical to not working have the same base with v2.2
so with recooking maybe the problem gone..
and i don't cook the Opal keyboard...
try it and tell us
i need more ram.... my bluetooth headset cut many time.... not enought ram....
with nothrill rom, when i listen music ( 63Mo ram free ) no cut
all new build os with small ram give me the same problem... i go back to old build

put ram memory of lasted build to 101Mo like old build.
91Mo no enought for me
with manilla on nothrill = 63Mo free
with manilla on last build = 54~57Mo free
and when i go under 60Mo my headset cut when i listen music
f*ck*ng pagepool
EDIT : i flash back to nothrill and show u memory available

my after reset have 57.27MB without any other prgram
do you want to make one for you with dynamic pagepool but you have less ram.. but if the problem the pagepool you don't have this problem
without manilla after a fresh install on Nothrills rom :
as we see between old build os and new build os we loose 10Mo
i saw u had put pagepool at 6 and i tried to do the same many time, and we can't do better... the maximum we can have on new build is 91Mo ram available... not like old build at 101Mo
i try to find where we loose 10Mo and why...
i really want to use new build but with less ram it's not possible for me , it's why i stay to old build
if you find the solution u will be my God
btw i really love ur rom , very fast , no freeze, and very nice bootscreen sequence ^^
maybe i will try to work on it to put ram available to 101Mo and keep it ^^

I have made a ROM based on WM6.5, for Vox. I created this ROM starting from a clean version of WM6.5. I just ported WM6.5 sources to Vox and added the new XIP 23017. This ROM is in English. I added some tweaks to increase speed rom (like the new .net compact framework 3.5).
NO THIRD SOFTWARES INCLUDED (Except some essential like PIM Backup) !

First of all.. thanks for taking the time to do this ROM..
I've come across a few issues in the first hour or so of using this..
(1) The keyboard is AZERTY.. no option to switch to QWERTY?
(2) Sometimes after a reboot, the WIFI indicator is on (even if it wasn't before the reboot) and running Commmanager/text message or using the quick WIFI/BT keys don't work and just sit there with the spinning busy icon.
(2) This next one kinda hard to explain..When i reboot the phone (without touching it) the text message app runs and is active, but the screen shows the homescreen.. Here are two screen caps to show what i mean.

hi has anyone tested both this and the Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard on the Vox by frauhottelmann, which is faster and most stable so far?
I'm trying this right now. It is azerty layout now
Where can i find a qwerty layout in cab format? Thought i saw it flying around somewhere on this forum.
ONly the french layout is AZERTY

I don't see a standard QWERTY layout there Only custom layouts
What do you mean by standard?
Have you tried installing the english one?
Oke, i just installed the italian version, it works. Some FN buttons are still mapped weird.
Also the file explorer just hanged when i clicked the menu button too fast.
And i can confirm that the SMS process starts on boot.
It would be nice if the rom would be English on first boot, since most of us here speak English and not French.
These are the things i found.

Yes that pack isn't there. I'm trying to do it via the registry. Seems i'm on to something.
