i don't change something.. but is not logical to not working have the same base with v2.2
so with recooking maybe the problem gone..
and i don't cook the Opal keyboard...
try it and tell us
i need more ram.... my bluetooth headset cut many time.... not enought ram....
with nothrill rom, when i listen music ( 63Mo ram free ) no cut
all new build os with small ram give me the same problem... i go back to old build

my after reset have 57.27MB without any other prgram
do you want to make one for you with dynamic pagepool but you have less ram.. but if the problem the pagepool you don't have this problem
without manilla after a fresh install on Nothrills rom :
as we see between old build os and new build os we loose 10Mo
i saw u had put pagepool at 6 and i tried to do the same many time, and we can't do better... the maximum we can have on new build is 91Mo ram available... not like old build at 101Mo
i try to find where we loose 10Mo and why...
i really want to use new build but with less ram it's not possible for me , it's why i stay to old build
if you find the solution u will be my God
btw i really love ur rom , very fast , no freeze, and very nice bootscreen sequence ^^
maybe i will try to work on it to put ram available to 101Mo and keep it ^^

I downloaded your new kitchen but the OEMDrivers folder contains files instead of modules. Why don't you change the OEMDrivers folder with the one you can find in former kitchens? For example Doublefour's 5.2.1413 kitchen contains modules. All drivers are the same in kitchens. Nobody is developing new drivers for the old Wizard. We are using old drivers in the roms and kitchens. Maybe i'm wrong but in my cooked rom i changed the OEMDrivers folder and my device is working well.
im using the 4mb version and its really fast, stable, my only problem is now the touchflo button is so sensitive that it even pops-up even if you are currently using sms, or other programs when you touch the left softkey, but overall i can live with it
nice ... cute icons... cool features.. suggestion why call it OCTAIVOI ? it sounds so lame... I just cant picture myself getting excited to my fellow techiez at work ... Hey "I have OCTAIVOI on my phone"... how about calling it Ophone ?

Becasue I like driver files, it's easy compare and replace when this files errored. So, you can copy modules in Doublefor's KitChen replace this files.

Advanced config tool
Can someone put the Advanced config tool in a cab file?
been running this rom for about 3 days now, very fassssst, good battery life and so far stable, and im just using the 4mb pagepool, no overclocking needed, and it even has the touchflo, just put your favorite programs and you have a wizard on steroids, thanks again for this wonderful rom

Something weird happened last night after I reset the Wizard using wifi/voice+softreset, it wont boot?
Does this mean my unit is bricked?
I tried to get into bootloader using power+camera... no joy this does not work?
What next... urgent help required please?

Slight confusion here as well with this avid listener, first time caller - the title post says for Elf and Elfin, the "Instructions ... .txt" readme in the archive available on RapidShare says the ROM is for Touch XL only. Which of the above is correct? Thanks!

Ignore that instruction in the ROM folder, it is for both ELF and ELFin...

It will be included in the ELF ROM only because Hibernate does not work for Program Memory above 64Mb... Cheers

Purpose
As you may have understand from the etymology, the goal of this ROM is to provide a really light OS without any fancy app; Just a minimal working device ready for your OWN customizations.

Obsidian Flavor
For those who love more shiny interfaces, i'd like to introduce you Obsidian. This is a Manilla2D enabled flavor of AEther.
While in other ROMs you won't be abble to uninstall programs or change anything the cooker decided for you, Obsidian let you do what you want.
This is simply possible as it is composed of cab files, that can be uninstalled if you don't like them.

Kinda answered your question in the changelog (second post).
This sounds really great! Is it an updated version (new SIP and XIP) from the version of Ababrekar?? this ROM (which I'm still using as one of the best roms!)
I'm really looking forward to download and try this ROM! Has it also the tweaks for speeding up and batterylife which is also in version 14.01 from Ababrekar?
So all crap (which I don't use anyway) is deleted and only the speeded up ROM is available with the newest XIP and SIP?
What about memory usage?

This ROM is actually based on the 3.07.720.03 WWE shipped rom; So yes, new XIP etc...
But i'm sorry, this is not an update of Ababrekar's ROM. In fact, initially i wanted to continue his formidable work but sadly he looses all his source work... so i've started this project from scratch... I hope i'll be abble to approch Abebrakar's rom quality.
No registry tweaks for now as it's only the first released version ... but be sure i'll try to update this ROM regulary.

Perhaps Ababrekar read this thread also and is willing to give some tips? Perhaps some reg. tweaks which he uses in his rom also? I'm sure he knows something about this from out of his rom, he lost his software, but not the cooking method/tips, etc, or? Isn't it an idea to ask him for (helping with) cooking? I have made a ROM based on WM6.5, for Vox. I created this ROM starting from a clean version of WM6.5. I just ported WM6.5 sources to Vox and added the new XIP 23017. This ROM is in English. I added some tweaks to increase speed rom (like the new .net compact framework 3.5).

First of all.. thanks for taking the time to do this ROM..
I've come across a few issues in the first hour or so of using this..
(1) The keyboard is AZERTY.. no option to switch to QWERTY?
(2) Sometimes after a reboot, the WIFI indicator is on (even if it wasn't before the reboot) and running Commmanager/text message or using the quick WIFI/BT keys don't work and just sit there with the spinning busy icon.
(2) This next one kinda hard to explain..When i reboot the phone (without touching it) the text message app runs and is active, but the screen shows the homescreen.. Here are two screen caps to show what i mean.

hi has anyone tested both this and the Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard on the Vox by frauhottelmann, which is faster and most stable so far?
I'm trying this right now. It is azerty layout now
Where can i find a qwerty layout in cab format? Thought i saw it flying around somewhere on this forum.
ONly the french layout is AZERTY

I don't see a standard QWERTY layout there Only custom layouts
What do you mean by standard?
Have you tried installing the english one?
Oke, i just installed the italian version, it works. Some FN buttons are still mapped weird.
Also the file explorer just hanged when i clicked the menu button too fast.
And i can confirm that the SMS process starts on boot.
It would be nice if the rom would be English on first boot, since most of us here speak English and not French.

Yes that pack isn't there. I'm trying to do it via the registry. Seems i'm on to something.

True, I checked, backlight.exe is located in \Windows Directory but not executing due to compatibilty issue with build 28205. I am working over it and will get back to you.
Power Button is working very well with me. Kindly tell what issue are you getting with Power Button.

Kindly download and Install the Attached CAB file, then you may access backlight.exe from "Windows" Folder to adjust brightness etc.
I shall permanently apply this patch in ROM by tomorrow.

power works in close brightness, but no screen lights
after a few days I will try ... when everything will be perfect

The Kitchen I used is for both ELF & ELFin. I do not have ELFin device to test on, as far as i know, ELF ROMs work fine on ELFin.
You may try it and do not forget to acknowledge please.

Tried it on an elfin tnite at spl3.10 and could not get a wifi radio at all.
Option was greyed out and could not access it through Settings.
Power botton still doesn't work. Also camera botton "Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up camera device" Any help!

I have tried it on SPL 3.14, it works fine on it. Today i shall be uploading ROM with Additional WiFi Settings, hope it will fix your problem.
