Did ever anyone get VoIP on any WM6.1 CDMA phone to work?
I used to be able to dial (just dial, the other phone rings and then an error showed up) but since I am using a newer WM6.1 build now I can't even get it to do that.
It will be awesome if someone who got it to work share how to do it.
I have already tried everything I could find by searching VoIP on this board.
Thanks

Hi!
I upgraded my HTC Wizard to WM6 using "S.N.E 3 Codename: Touch No Evil". ROM is great but I have one single problem. I cannot make my bluetooth hands free to activate voice dialing. This feature worked fine with WM5. I tried many things, including playing with the registry.
Do you have anything to recommend?
I guess I'm the only one with this problem!
What program are you using for voice dialing?
I am using Cyberon Voice Dialer.
Actually I discovered that I also have a problem receiving incoming calls by pressing the button of my hands free. The call is accepted but disconnected after a few milliseconds. The only way to make a call with my hands free is to start the call using the phone. For incoming calls my hands free does not work.
All these things was working with WM5 though.
I hope I won't have to get back to WM5!
Im sure is the OEM build of the cook. Why dont you install the cyberon voice dialer over. You can find this cab in the latest TNT thread.
Best regards.
Solved! Thanks, searching that ROM's threads.
Actually I'm using the latest release published by Cyberson. I was just missing the second of the following registry settings:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\SDDialer.exe"
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll"
I just started using the phone (with original ROM) in Rogers/Fido network in Toronto, and I have been getting on and off calls going straight to voice mail without the phone ever ringing (no missed call notification by the phone).
Anyone else having the problem? Is it related to the phone going to deep sleep state or polling frequency? Any tweaks or registry editing which would reduce the chance of that?
This is a serious problem for me, as I need reliability. I don't mind giving up some battery performance to correct it.
I may trying updating the GSM Radio. Will it make any difference? As I understand, updating GSM Radio only should not erase all the programs like updating OS ROM does, am I correct? I would back up before doing so.
Sorry to state the obvious, but did you accidentally set your phone to forward all calls to voicemail in setting?

No. And this does not happen all the time. If I make a call from the phone, then it can start to receive calls without any problem. It just happens at random. And when it happens, repeated calls will all go straight to voice mail.
And I have disabled the no answer forwarding, so it should keep ringing until the caller hangs up.
hey -
first, I'd like to say these forums are awesome! thanks for the great info.
But i am having the 'straight-to-voice mail' problem with my TC too. It doesn't happen every time, but every once and a while i get a voice mail indicator, but the phone never rang. My girlfriend actually called me 3 times in a row, 2 of which went right to mail, the third one rang. odd. So if anyone has any ideas, i would appreciate it!
Edit: I am also on Fido in Toronto. I have been looking around, and there is the suggestion that perhaps this is a problem with the 'Who Called' or 'Name display' features of voicemail, which doesnt work well with some phones. Now i am not sure if this is it - but i upgraded my VM at the same time I got the TC. Another suggestion has been that the Radio Rom doesnt work well with some netorks. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Any other ideas?
hmm - anything new on this?
For me, my workaround solution is to disable 3G - network settings changed to "GSM" instead of "Auto". Now, the calls have been very reliable with no straight to voice mail problem.
So it looks like there are some incompatibility issues with my 1.58.21.23 Radio ROM and Rogers/Fido network/3G. But I don't know where to look for a better radio ROM (other than loading everything for trial and errors).
And which radio ROM is compatible with Polaris? Only those made for Polaris or the same class of phones? It is rumored that Rogers would release Kaiser very soon, so I presume that Kaiser's Radio ROM (not OS obviously) should be compatible?
aww...i really hope it's not 3G - i guess i might as well cancel that data plan Anyway, I've disabled it, so we shall see if it remedies the problem.
Edit: for those of you who are having the same problem and want to disable 3G but still want to be able to use 3G data every once and a while, I have installed Schap's Advanced Configuration too (which is awesome, btw, and can be found by searching the forums). It has a handy feature that permits you to add 3G on/off to the comm. manager, which makes switching between GSM and 3G really easy. Just thought I'd share.
Just grabbed this thread out and update it here:
Seems the problem does not depend mandatory on using 3G or GPRS
and also not depending on the Radio version. I have noticed missed
calls with enabled 3G and with GPRS only. And I have noticed them
with Radio 1.58.23.21 and with 1.64.08.21 on bepe WM6.1 0.64 GER.
I also have a friend who confirmed he noticed missed calls on stock
WM6.0 GER from O2 germany with stock Radio 1.58.23.21. Its annoying!!
I had the same problems with my old Hermes (TyTN 1) with all ROMs
and all Radio versions also. It's a pity to seem the problem persist on
the Polaris I mean, hey, the TC is some kind of phone, isn't it?
And the main task for a phone is being able to receive a call if radio
reception is OK. Never had a standalone phone, which suffered such
problems...

Hi everyone, I have been having the exact same problem on my Cruise (and no, my phone is not set to forward to voice mail). It's very odd since it seems to happen randomly. I found it resolves temporarily if i make a call then hang up.
Can anyone follow-up if switching to "GSM" instead of "Auto" resolves the issue. This has become a serious problem for me and would appreciate any help. Thanks!
UPDATE: after several days of testing, i am happy to say that i have not had any problems since swithching to GSM
Mine is not doing the same in Vancouver.bc Fido.
I've tried multiple radio roms and am gradually working my way down the list from newest to oldest. so far no difference.
Any other ideas?
sorry to resurrect an old threat.
last time i used WM6 i had call problems like at times somebody would call me and it would go str8 to my voice mail or i would have signal and when i tried to send a txt it wouldnt let me so i was wondering if that was ever fixed and if so witch ROM is the most stable? thx in advanced!
most roms have it working. look for a rom that has network wizard. that way you can get your mms too.
Hey Guys,
I have an issue with my Fuze and am hoping there is a simple setting that may help me out.
I have an Xlink Bluetooth gateway in my home, and have a Jag XK with bluetooth. Previously I had an 8525 where the bluetooth worked well.
I got the Fuze and I thought all was well. But for the last week, when I get an incoming call the blue tooth rings (houseline on XLink or XK Radio), but when I connect the call I get dead silence.
I can make outgoing calls via bluetooth and both devices work fine.
On the Fuze, if when ringing i hit answer on the phone, rather than the car stereo occassionally it connects.
Since I have the same issues (silent connection) when connecting via Xlink or XK I figured it must be an issue with the phone.
Any thoughts or ideas ?
Thanks
Dave
The issue is with Voice Command not with phone. If you update Voice Command to 1.6.19209 it will fix your issue. The other option is to turn off Announce incoming Calls option.
Update Voice Command
The phone has version 1.6.19971 --- So that would be a downgrade not an upgrade....
Does that still make sense ?
Dave
You've tested that specific version and it works? NATF said he tried his version from his Tilt and it didn't work. Please confirm!
Nice work!
You guys are really on it! I started noticing this problem today after enabling 'announce incoming calls' yesterday... didn't even occur to me. So I disabled it as per your suggestion, and it's working fine. Thanks very much for that. If I wanted to roll back to that earlier version, where could I find it? I still have my Tilt which I upgraded to 6.1 (battery's probably dead)... could I get the .cab off of it? Do we know for certain the earlier version works? Thanks again.
We were on it for a long time. You'll see multiple posts about that.
I have a TP2 with the 6/20 version of MightyRom.
I wanted to get voip working on my phone... but on an as needed basis - for when I am traveling. My voip account that I am using is with Onesuite.
First I installed the following two cabs:
WM6VoIPFull.cab
Setup_VoIP_v0.3.cab
But as it wasn't working well I uninstalled them and installed Fring. Fring works.
Since I do not want it running all the time I removed the Fring link from the Startup folder and have soft reset my phone multiple times since.
Without fring running, my onesuite incoming calls are still being routed to my cell phone which I do not want. And even though they are being routed, the calls still do not work.
I want to prevent the incoming voip calls from coming to my phone when Fring is not running.
Now I think I know what the issue is, yet still need help resolving it. Even though I uninstalled the first two cabs. SIP Config tool and SIP Dialplan still appear in my programs so apparently it has not uninstalled or uninstalled clean.
Turn the IP Call button off. I uninstalled the cabs as well but it didnt do much. Probably something in the registry.
I got the Sip softphone on the TP2 to work, it connects i can hear the other person but my mic doesnt work. So Im still stuck using the free softphone can download from windows marketplace.
How about using another softphone like PortGo on your WM? I also use Onesuite VoIP and when I still have my HTC Touch, I use PortGo and it works well. If PortGo isn't running then I won't get my Onesuite calls on my mobile phone.
