hi,
I am sorry if this topic has already been discussed but I couldnt find any previous discussion so I would appreciate it if there is an answer already available perhaps someone could direct me to it.
I was using WM6 on my Jasjar and my device was running properly. I however, accidently broke the LCD and after checking out the price of a repair decided it would be cheaper to just buy another phone. So after about a Month, I sold my device in its same condition (i.e. with the broken LCD). Now before I handed it over, I performed a hard reset using the procedure that we are all so familiar with, however I didnt get the famous chime when your device is ready for screen alignment etc.
I handed my device to the guy and the next day after replacing the screen he called me and informed me that device boot is not progressing beyond the imate splash screen. He told me that he went into bootloader mode and installed some older roms from imate and still there has been no progress. I went yesterday to him and reinstalled the WM6 rom version that I had and the same problem persist after two upgrade.
I am positive my device was working when the LCD broke and even before I hard reset it... Any help in this matter would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
Ahmed
Hi, help please. I been using these new builds and working very well, but now I just get 'The SIM card is missing', I have tried other SIM cards with the same message!.. please help
thanks
Help Help Help, please any ideas, my phone is still stuck on sim card missing!
have you tryed reflashing it with different rom?
Yes, flashed with 3 ROM's and also flashed with RADIO's ROM's, but still the same.
This phone is getting worse, with no phone working I still use it for TOMTOM, but now no sound or patchie sounds, music or phone sounds, I flash it back to WM5 still same and flash it back to WM6 but still no sound. Is there anyway to completey delete the phone so nothing on it then flash it.
Maybe it's because you've got an hardware problem ... so maybe you should see your "service after sale" !!
I would if it was still in contract, so I am thinking about taking the thing apart, and see if anything come loose?. any info would be nice, tried searching but nothing
This phone is very sick, if i put a SIM card in it I get a blank screen when it reboots, or if I take SIM out I may get the blank screen which I have to reset couple of times, took the back off but cannot see any connector off. So I have to pay alot of money to fix it or buy another PDA.

My only question is: What changed?
Is there something that you can think of that caused this to occur?
Have you dropped or bumped the phone? Liquid got to it? Charging when the power died or there was a lightning strike?
Without knowing this, there is very little that can be done.
As for pulling the device apart - I would recommend against this. Complex electronics like these have no user-serviceable parts, the most you can do is to look for physical damage (such as burnt components or broken legs on chips) or water damage. And then, even if you did find the damage, you would be able to do very little with it as the components can be hard to find (for any of the chips) and the soldering is extremely difficult (my father hand solders surface-mount components using special liquid-solder and a microscope).
If you want to repair it, find your nearest HTC (or I-Mate\Dopod\O2\etc) repair centre and give it to them. Keep in mind that you've already voided the warranty by installing a custom ROM (although you can just install the manufacturer's ROM and pretend you never used WM6...).
Hope this helps!
I use it every day with TOMTOM or I-go (lorry driver),so getting knock's vibration-yes. camera stop working and green went green-but after a couple of weeks it when back normal. never failed on flashing or stuck on bootmode. NO SIM started I just reset it then it was ok until next time. Then it went back normal for a couple of weeks, then NO SIM came on and couple more things happen(above posts). And that how it stands. So 12 months gone a passed (18 month contract). So its sent it to O2( big bill I think) or buy a PDA (cheap I hope). Or wait and see for upgrade brings
Update on my EXEC, It starts as followed, O2 screen comes up with it info at bottom right then the next screen is the windows mobile6 screen and then black screen, tryed mtty, also re flashed it....now its dead R.I.P...
I think I flashed it too many times so be warned!!!!
Been looking at other PDA phones, none of them comes near EXEC will apart from AMEO(thats nice but too much), so looks like another EXEC I think, and yes I will be flashing that one as well if I get O2 to part with one.
Hi, all tryed to get a new EXEC from O2, but sady they say they dont do it no more, so upgraded to the ORBIT( or should I say down graded). SO I like to say bye bye and watch that flashing because it will kill your phone.
Hello There,
I'm from Portugal and i bought 1 MDA Compact on TMobile. I Unlocked it with XDAdev v 1.6 and it works great in my network. After i done a stupid thing. I flash it with a wrong rom and it "Dead" . To recover i Reflash with a Jam_10605_169_10500 ship and it return to live. Now power on and let me calibrate stylus but when try to enter in the main screen apear a White Screen. I can manage and view all with Sync, but nothing more apear into Handset.Only a white screen. Can you help with this please.
Dear Marco,
Usually that's a sign that your LCD is broken. I've got one extra magician with exactly that same problem. Everything works but not the LCD, which seems to be dead. To confirm it, i've tested this "broken" magician with a good LCD and i can see everything...
I guess that you have done something extra besides only upgrading the ROM...
I need to align the screen again & again can any one help me out wer the problem lies
how did this happen? i also encounter a similar problem, when the phone gets warm... when i press on the right side, the click registers mode and more to the left... and when that happend, if i try to go to the alignment screen, it just hangs in there like.. forever... if i put the phone in standby mode, everything gets back to normal in a few minutes.. the problem repeats every time the phone gets warm...
Same
First i was also having the similar problem but now its totally unaligned i.e even after a time its same i click on extreme left it click on extreme right
nasty man... dunno why this is happening... so, my screen is dying.. damn :| what kind of mods did u do to your phone? software ones
I have the same problem! Seems this is an manufacturing issue that's affecting many Diamonds! Does the warranty cover this?
Same problem
Hi Guys,

YEAH! ) i sent mine to warranty today, lol 15 long days at max until it will be back in my loving arms
i dont know if this might help
i used to have flickering screen, not being able to display alpha blend, transparencies or the colour black, and also not being able to keep the screen alignment (it resets everytime i soft reset the phone) ....
this happens when i used the latest update from htc.
it seems that the upgrade is not suitable for devices bought in 2008 as it has the ols original spl.
i read in the forum and found out that the radio, and the hard spl was part of the problem. so i read on and found that by using Olipro's hard spl 1.93 will fix most of the problem. but its for only gsm devices.
i flashed 1.93 hard spl and all my problems went away...
just sharing!!
i can see some leaked fluid above my screen ........... i cannot even explain it , because it's above the screen but i cannot touch it ........ so it's in between.....
i've had the same thing happen to me and sent it in for warranty.
came back ok for awhile, now its happening again. I usually just suspend my phone (power button) and give the LCD a rub that helps it a little, buts its quite unbearable at times.
I've sent it in to warranty for a second time today, warranty is expiring on the 8th of next month so they better fix it by then .

I have the same screen align problem. When the phone gets hot, the screen alignment screw up, similar to this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-IUzerAT0s&feature=related
I was told this is a hw problem as I've tried flashing different ROMs, update radios etc. but still doesn't help.
Right now I'm trying to avoid using the phone when charging or when it becomes warm. That seems to help a bit. Not sure if replacing the screen will help but a few folks here have suggested that.
ye iv had enough of this problem shall embark on replacing the lcd in a few weeks

dont think that actually helps - you'll prob need to replace the digitizer .

Long story short: it is a hardware problem! nothing you can do to fix it via software... and it gets worse, so get it fixed
I have just received mine from service a few days ago... Of course i lost my warranty and I paid almost 200$ to get it fixed... The front case gets replaced entirely (that includes both digitizer and LCD), because it comes in one piece... all components are stuck together that is, even if you have a perfectly working LCD, it will be replaced anyway... Fortunately this helped and I am not experiencing any problems... Also I've been told that this problem may occur again, after some time (1-2 years), if the phone is heavily used (gps, connected on 3G + screen awake for a long period of time), and that the simptoms may vary: some get the digitizer / misalignment problem, others get weird spots on their lcd, etc...
Hope i didn't make to many mistakes and that my reply will help you understand and get your problem solved...

I'm not too sure about that actually - how you stated the LCD / Digitizer and case comes all in one.
I've actually experienced the same issue, sent it back the first time. Fonebiz did not replace anything but a flex cable. Ironically, issue came back after a months time.
Sent it in a second time for warranty, i specifically included a note stating the issue - they replaced the LCD, but did not replace the digitizer; so guess what ? issue came back within the month.
Phone was finally out of warranty, i decided to send HTC a ***** email and they were very helpful and they've promised me a replacement. Waiting for Fonebiz to check for hardware faults if its all clear then i get a new phone

i assure you cannot replace just the lcd, not without a hammer! I got my old part back, I can take some pictures of it, just in case And the digitizer is one and the same with the front case... the diamond is a very small phone, that's why there are no screws or other stuff to hold together the lcd and the rest of the case.
So unfortunately for you, they may have told you they replaced the lcd, but i think they did nothing :|
It is very clear that we had the same problem... the digitizer itself got broken... not some cable or lcd
anyway, if your phone has warranty, you are a happy man
My phone's screen was broken. So, i went to a shop and the repairer installed a new one. The phone was working fine. I updated it to Marshmallow but it has some brightness issues. So, i decided to downgrade it. I flashed my phone and after flashing, when i restarted it, my device is showing white thick vertical lines and then my device turns off. I tried re-flashing but still i have same issue. I cannot buy a new one as i am a uni student. I need help. it has almost been more than a week and i am without any smartphone lol. Kindly help me. Thanks! I have OPPO A39.

Probably because the replacement screen wasn't the exact same model as your original screen, meaning that the repair shop probably had to flash a different kernel or a modified kernel to make the different screen work with your stock software and when you updated to Marshmallow it probably flashed your stock kernel(the kernel that would have worked with the original screen but not exactly right for the new screen). If that is what they did, you might need to flash a different or modified kernel to fix this.
