Funman v.1 Faria Base Rom

IMPORTANT
You MUST have an IPL and SPL at 2.xx or higher (BOTH not just one or the other).
The Phone NEEDS to be CID unlocked or it will not flash correcly​
Well I have been keeping my Faria Base Rom to my self uptill now. But I have run out of ideas what I can do to it.
Well I have made my version that is is simple but has some very usful apps.
I would like to have 3-5 People test out for me and tell me what can be changed, if it is ok like I am thinking of maybe putting it out there for people to play with. But it all depends on the poeple that test it.
So my ROM is for someone that would like a FAST and stable rom that has just what is needed.

Java manager (Left out as my Rom is made for the person that like min but useful, and this is not useful!!!)
New Sim manager (Took out as pointless, as with pimbackup on the phone, you dont need to save your contacts tot he SIMcard)
And Smartskey(it is one of the most useful application) I left it ou as it is not need!!! But you do have the button mapping, but i would not use it for boasting the CPU
New office2k7 Thought about this, and i did put itin there, but took it out again as the new one does not give much yet, as 2007 is not so widly used for the lose of rom space!!!

Well I did not add the extended rom for that reason!!! So maybe will have to put the MMS stuff back in to the ROM

I think its bricked...
It finished flashing... went off... n now it wont start back up again....
Removed the battery and put it back in... its come on now... whew!! it sure gave me a scare at that point...
love the splash screens....

One can get rid of error reporting and autoupdate... both are useless tools for a custom ROM
Have always had a problem with memory leak and suspect its because of tmail.exe... i use a lot of mail... outlook, windows live and sms put together would easily be more than 200 a day... this seems to be leaking as well... am already down to 25mb within an hour but that culd be because its updating my outlook mail... havent set up windows live yet...
more updates will follow in the morning... my wife's gonna lock the room door from inside anytime now...:-/

Ya the t-mobile stuff is just for this!!! If it gets lt out it will not have this!!! And t-zones is not in the rom!

Runs Great, But Phone Ringers Are Corrupted On My End Which Is No Biggy Man. T-Zones Dont Need To Be In There Cuz For Some Reason It No Longer Works Anymore. Might be the reason because T-Mobile Upgraded There New T-Zones For HTC Wing But Im Not Sure Just Know That When you Check Your Account It Wont let you. Another One you Should Add Musicplayer Today For Alittle Bonus And Add The new HTC Taskmanager Like Everyone Is Suggesting. Just So it Could Look Like A Stocked T-mobile Phone. I Love The Splash Screens. Really Fast But There Is A Battery Drain I Noticed But Might Be Because I have to let the battery drain first cuz I flashed. It Is At 50% And I dont have no push email, GPRS, Internet,Wifi, Or Bluetooth Running. I Would Hate To see when I Use Them It would Of Probably Already Been Dead! I Also havent Installed Any Program Either Everything Is Still Stocked. Also Recommend You Put Some Sort Of Battery Task On The Today Screen Like HTC HomePlug So You Can Check your Battery Life. I liked the way you cooked!.
Clean, simple and fast.
It really is and I still didn't have to overclock! Nice!
Got 43.40 of storage and 30.02 of program memory. Ok for me.

Customer feedback and Error reporting could be really removed as it really means nothing.
Phone settings seems to be not working properly. When I tried to change ring tone and clicked OK button, I got nothing. I still kept on that settings tab instead of back to today screen. I tried several times without luck. But I think is just a little thing coz you may get away from that just clicking on today icon and choose today itself.
Noticed duplicated task manager: programs\accessories\settings and in start\settings\system folder.

In an overall and as my first impression, I loved it! You did a very custom ROM without a lot of craps and just cooking basic and usefull apps. Good job.

But Java manager is useful as sim manager, not at the time but may be required in future coz there will be programs that will require java and same for Sim manager. But this is your choice, im just trying to make your rom perfect and complete.
And for new X button go here
im using it and it is very good no bugs.
And office2k7 is also essential coz there are new format (for eg: docx) which will run on new word only.
And yes there are two shortcut of taskmanager(dotfred), one is in programs/accessories/settings and other in settings/system.

Where you heck are you seeing t-zones? IT is not in the rom!!! I have this running on my phone right now!!!
-No T-Zones,
-No Ring tones as I said above (just place a ring tone on your card in my documnets)
-Do you have a extended rom installed, as this is your problem with the batt drain!
I think i need to pull the rom and look at a coup-le of things, cus you should not be seeing t-zones for one thing! And i might move the extention to windows folder then you dont have the batt drain problem!
p.s Task manger is there two times out of design!
update: Ok I see why you had the problems with the ring tone!!! Cus you have not put a MP3 in your my documnet folder!!! The OS has put the default ones in but there are not in the rom!!! It must be a reg key or some thing I will look into getting rid! Well i looked at the ringtoens and i think the 3 defaults must be hard coded as i have not been able to find any reg keys that go with them.

Vanilla : -- Speaks for itself -- Basic OS
Business : -- Vanilla with Productivity Tools/Apps/Utils (M$Voice Command, Pim Backup, Full Office, Cambirdge BT Stack,Tray Launch to mention a few)
Full Flavour : -- Whatever we can cram into the Rom that benefits your average user.
Vanilla With Cabs : -- Cab files on extended Rom to install Apps at will.
Please feel to post any apps utils (Freeware/ShareWare only) that you would like included or feel would be useful to the rest of the community.

Also, this allows you to easily customise\uninstall what you don't need

I vote either for vanilla. having the extended rom free for the most important document has become important for me.. business may be interesting too if not too much filled up

I couldn't agree more!
An extended ROM with all the cabs present in the business version (including VC final version ) would allow any newbie to customize is won ROM.
Just open the extended ROM and select the wanted cabs.
If you provide the cabs and an extended ROM it would be even better!!

+1 For Full Flavour
The more space you can use on the ROM the better. Vanillas just waste ROM space since the only way you can put anything on the ROM is by flashing. I'll just take out anything on startup that I don't need.

best option for every one: Vanilla + CABs.
i, for example, cannot stand having voice command installed.
other ppl wouldn't like msn live installed. etc etc...
the debate is endless - everyone likes something else to be installed or uninstalled.
this is why vanilla + cabs would do the best job satisfying everyone.
storage space would be compermised though. but thats the sacrifice we have to make.

What if we go for exteneded Rom, unhidden, writeable and renamed to storage, then you can install any apps in there you wish.
We could make the cabs available (with an auto-install option too if you wish) and they install from your SD Cards.
This way it may keep the majority happy you get an extra 10mb storage to play with (rather than having the cabs in it) and anything you want auto-installed after 1st boot you simply copy to say "Install" Dir on your SD Cards.
There's another option to mull over guys!

possibly use the method i pioneered? you cook in as many programs as you can (full flavour) BUT you leave out the registry and shortcuts for them, and stick those in cabs. the result is a vannilla + cabs rom that has much more free storage. also (you probably know this) try to use initflashfiles as little as possible as it copies them from rom to storage memory, where ever possible (almost always) leave things in the windows dir and change the shortcuts + reg to match that.

I agree, all the apps that normally come with WM6 (namely Windows Live & MS Office) should definitely be included in ROM 100% - then we can call that "vanilla" (anything else would just not be "WM6"). And possibly a better Bluetooth stack, as technically that would just be a "bugfix".

This would be perfect.

I really want vanilla, I dont even want windows live, messenger or voice dial.....a very clean Rom. Please if you could just put one like that up for down load as well as what ever else, that would be great.

So it looks like, some people want Vanilla and some want Vanilla without the "essence" LoL.........
We'll see what we can do.
Almost there with VC so Roms shouldn't be too far off now.
Keep y'all posted.
Maybe we'll just release another kitchen update more automated than the last ones, I'm toying with an "AutoBuild" option on the kitchen to throw out pre-configured Roms based on a tick box GUI. Basically fire up the kitchen make your selection, click go, have a coffee, Rom built and flashed.

I'll update the Kitchen (with bug fixes included) and add a front end that will allow you all to choose what flavour you want and have a one click build and flash process. Toying with the idea of also having a custom build that allows you to choose which oems to install as well as adding oems for commonly used apps such as SPB Phone, SPB Today, CorePlayer etc with the option to enter your serial numbers before cooking or build with demo version installed (but this requires a lot more work to incorporate so we'll see how it goes)

fully-functional phone (quick responding keys) The response was slow and Talk button doesn't always work.
Ringtones on SD Card.
New Email account creation

hi, just to let you know i will be back, thanks to pug i've brought the its i needed to fix my Universal, however i also have my new athena so i wont have enough time to maintain a whole rom release but, if you guys doing the kitchen have anything you want doing i could help with that

If you remove the apps , it would be better to package them as cabs and supply them with your ROM as well

avail. storage: 16.33mb
total storage: 19.94mb
avail. memory: 23.59mb
total memory: 44.67mb
It also comes with t9 in english and german.
font size is the same as phil's first rom, not small like the chinese roms.
i'll post more difs as i find them...

i say.... just wait for phill's beta and then try to do more custom roms. it is not worth to do more alpha versions because they still have a s*** load of bugs

no offence, but here is a list of bugs that i have found in the alpha version by phill. can you confirm that all of them have been fixed?
if u remove windows update, at least supply it as a cab in the extras folder.
channels don't work.
long pressed side button does not work! it used to start voice note record for the sda and i'd like that to work.
mms.
better camera software. btw htc camera makes the phone SLOW..... not a good one. need an alternate
enable profile switching to silent when long pressing '#' key
default folder for saving pictures on storage card is not my documents\my pictures any more but a lame dcim folder. that would be nice to be changed.

and maybe add a good version of opera. not the java one.

also a good instant messaging program. maybe a multi client one like oz mobile im, or like im+

better the pure clean system without apps you listed here, there is no need to add to the ROM (don't judge me, just my opinion )

there is an newer version of sim manager. v6.10. has a couple of new things (got it if u need it)
and maybe add a good version of opera. not the java one.

also a good instant messaging program. maybe a multi client one like oz mobile im, or like im+

Upgraded a few minutes ago without a problem.
All looks good, but I will test it further once I copy the contents of my old SDCard to my new 2gb
Right now it is lagging due to the file transfer going on.

we do not change the rom size.. so you can dump this rom then add more apps as you like...

where to find WM6.0 with no extras?

Help me out guys. Tell me if it's a good idea to install a fresh WM6.0 ROM into my JASJAR with no extras at all and then install only the software i want?
If so, please tell me where to download an uncooked/unmodded version of WM6!!

also, look around, and keep a watch for "Vanilla" ROMs, these are the ones that only have the system core, and some essential software, without which the system would be pretty crippled.
Beasty is going to release a new Vanilla edition of the Beasty&Leo Amalgam ROM, so far the best one

I've tried almost all of ROMs available here - "Mo3ulla CE OS: 5.2.1933 Build: 18533.0.7.0 [v1] extreme fast vanilla" is THE BEST (for my UNI with all soft I use). Thank you Mo3ulla.
There is one small problem with Cyberon Voice Speed Dial - after I push the button activating the program it does not wait for voice tag but starts dialing itself any number from Contacts list.
Anyway not using voice speed dialing - I haven't found better ROM for me

I've updated my JASJAR with your Windows Mobile 6.0 (CE OS 5.2.1933 Build 18533.0.7.0 ROM 2.11.09 G4M EROM Unknown RADIO 1.18.00), installed the Broadcomm Bluetooth Stack and updated the WiFi service.
Everything is as beautiful and fast as can be expected. Really a great great ROM.
I do have some minor problems though, i think you can help:
1) I need to change the hard keyboard from Russian to English and don't know how to edit the registry on my JASJAR. Could you help me out with this?
2) I need to change the bootscreen ... WoW really isn't my thing I tried editing the welcomehead.192.png file but it isn't letting me update it. Any recommendations?
3) I need to remove the Alt-Tab application and Solitaire. How do i go about doing that?
4) After installing BroadComm BT Stack and WiFi service, i've got only 29 MB storage memory and 21 MB program memory left. Is that how it's supposed to be?
Out of curiosity (and no offense, really!! the ROM is the best i've seen so far), are you planning to update this ROM with all the above mentioned stuff fixed?

My program memory keeps fluctuating between 18mb and 6mb. Why is this happening? Anything to do with how much stuff is in the RAM?!? :S

I had lot of troubles with Kaiser Rom's since most of them are packed with a lot of stuff, which in the end degrades the performance, so, I have decided to make a super fast ROM.
Any application you need, you can simply get the cab file for it, so why have it in the ROM? Most applications now can be installed on the SD card, and thus saving the precious space for storage, and most importantly RAM.
I tried many Rom's and all of them were not giving more than 80 MB of RAM on TYTNII, this one gives 101 MB, after installing all the apps.
One benefit for having everything on the ROM, is when the device crash, and you need a hard reset. OEM packages are just automatically installed. Instead, I cooked inside the ROM TAutoInstall, which would automatically lookup the root of the SD card for any cab files, and after the hard reset, will show you a list of the cab files, and prompts you on which one to install.

2- Quick GPS
3- Java
4- Internet Sharing
5- Calculator
6- Microsoft One Note
7- Camera Album
8- sprite Backup
9- Quick Menu
10- .Net framework
11- Camera
12 HTC Photo Album

Any other application , you can just install yourself, and have the option to install on the SD card.
Radio version is 1.64, OS is WM 6.1
Only 6 ringing tones are included as standard, so you can add whatever you want.

Known Issues and how to resolve them
Issue : The right and left soft buttons are not properly configured.
Resolution : While you can add the buttons manually through registry, I am using AEButtons plus which allows to configure many functions for each button.

Yes, Camera V5 is there, and works great, together with HTC photo Album. What is really missing is an MMS application. I did not include it because I am not subscribed to the service

this now 7 post thread was abandoned over a year ago, so help will be limited. Try a newer 6.5.x rom instead, much more better than 6.1 fo show

I am glad that you liked the ROM, and yes, it is the fastest
Now, here is the catch... There are 2 versions for Kaiser, one is with only one camera, and the other with 2 cameras. This ROM was written for the one with one camera, (the AT&T version) , and all buttons wor out of the box. I have 2 Kaisers, one the AT&T version, and the other, with 2 cameras. For the other one, I used aebuttons plus to configure the buttons to work,as well as add more functions to the buttons, such as double click , tripple click, long press...etc.
